It was your day off and you were burnt the hell out, so a little you day...Until someone decided to make a loud bang from the basement, you watch the basement door open and turbo came out, he was your childhood obsession, but then he died off once you hit Highschool for grade purpose, but then turned out, he was obsessed with you and assumed you were his best friend ever and successfully go into your world "what was that?" he sat next to you and moved closer to you and leaned his head on your arm, he had messy, black hair and an over sized shirt that you used to own before you caught him sniffing it, so it's his now "I woke up in that cy-bug form, it's so hard to change back" he rubbed his eyes "would you like a cup of coffee, Turbo?" "that would be lovely" you got up and made him a cup of coffee a Disney cup from your senior trip of Highschool,. You walked over to him and hand him the coffee, you turned on the TV and scrolled on YouTube, you see allot of fall tiktok compilation "Turbo, did you get into my YouTube account again?" "no" he took a sip of his coffee and glitched to King Candy, you shrugged and pressed play, you checked the date and it was recent! you pulled out your phone and pulled up Target, Walmart, and Bath & Body Works and their Fall collection has finally came out! you snap your head to Turbo where he happily sip his coffee while having his arm wrapped around his "Turbo!" you excitedly exclaimed, he jumped and turned into his Turbo form "yes,dear?" "how about you come with me for some shopping for fall stuff?" "don't you have allot of fall stuff in the basement?" "yes, but your cotton candy webs got all off them, so they're yours now" he blushed when a couple of glitch effects came out as his over 30 ft cy-bug form burst between the two of you "I guess that's a yes?" "of course!" he yelled as he grabbed your waist and held you tightly.

It took awhile to pry your way out of his grasp and calm his obsessive behavior and went into the car, you drove over to the near by Target and went inside with Turbo next to you, you grabbed the cart and forced Turbo to get in, so you wont lose him. You walked over to the food isle and met with pumpkin spice everything, from Oreo's, to coffee creamer, and pancake flavors. you weren't a psychopath to buy everything that has the work pumpkin, you grabbed a pancake badder box and coffee creamer then went to the home section "cute pillows and decorations!" you pushed the cart towards the decor "how long are we gonna be here?" turbo groaned as he picked under his nail "i'm unsure, how long do you want it to be?" you sarcastically said before giggling "I assume that's your kid?" a random voice piped up, it was a teenager who looked liked about in Middle School, just a group of kids "uh" you and Turbo looked at each other then back to them "no" "young cousin?" "no, dirt bag, they're my lover" Turbos patients is usually very short, but he managed to calm down quick "chill, Turbo" "nice costume, kid, takin' it seriously for your Guardian to call you from the video game that you didn't know when you were born" "excuse me!' he yelled as tiny glitches, he was getting pissed off even more "Turbo, stop. Just ignore them" he growled and sat back down "guys, I assure you that you three also never played Turbo Time too. As someone who played the game and watched the Cartoon adaptation of it as a kid, it quite idiotic of you three" you calmly explained as you turned away and moved to a different section of the area.

"How did you managed to do that so easily?" Turbo said surprisingly "well, there's this thing called, being an adult and though's type of kids are just begging for attention" "oh, har,har,har" turbo sarcastically laughed while crossing his arms. As you both left the store with the bags in hand, you saw the group of kids left the store with nothing, they looked at you two and back to them. You hoped they don't pull out their phones because you know what they mean "Turbo, would you please walk in front of me?" he looked up at you and obeyed you, you looked behind you and they were (It's almost 1am, so my spelling and grammar is getting wonky) you sighed and covered your face and told Turbo to walk a bit faster, he was confused and asking you why, but you just said "don't worry about it" only for him to look over and see them pointing their phones at the two of you "what happens of being an adult?" Turbo asked "adults don't interact with this type of situations, if they are minors" "It's for your own safety, (Y/N)!" "they are going to look back to this and cringe about it and wanting to apologize, Turbo!" "and what if they didn't?" Turbo raised his voice a bit "well, they're going to get they're teeth punched in when they said it or do something to the wrong person" "Hey, pedo-bear!" one of the kids yelled you pushed Turbo to your car, but he had enough. You wanted him not to start a scene and he understands that, but when it's someone that you don't know personalty whose also starting a scene and you just let it happen because your an adult crossed the line! While pushing him to your car, he glitched and turned to a cy-bug that you were familiar with "Turbo, no!" you yelled, he ran towards the three kids in rapid pace "you three really crossed the line this one, (Y/N) might've been less confrontational but I am a whole different person" his face glitched as other customers scrambled to run away from the outside and people from the inside ran away near the exit, obviously immature Middle Schools students didn't take it seriously, he sprout his wings and grabbed the kids before flying up into the sky "Turbo! Stop!" you yelled for him to come back down and have a conversation between them, but he was too far away for him to hear you "Turbo!" you yelled at the top of your lungs, but he still wont hear you.

In the sky, Turbo held one kid with a death grip and held the other kid by his teeth from their shirt, all of them dropped their phones and watched them shatter on the ground from impact "be sure to think before you say anything" he managed to say through gripped teeth.He dropped the kids and watched them fall, they all screamed and you were just in utter distress, you were already traumatized enough when we went into your world along with the cy-bugs just to find you. Before they hit the ground, Turbo grabbed them, but used his arms to hold two and the other to hold by his crab like feet with candy corn stripes "have I made myself clear?" he smiled widely to show his fangs "yes,yes! very much yes!" "good!" he dropped the kids on the ground and went back to you, he was now calm and now he would turn back into his regular form "I think you made your point quite vividly, Turbo" he nodded and went into the car, as you were turning back to see where you are going, you saw the kids parents running up to them, perfect timing. You drove up to the parents "hi, they've been harassing me and my boyfriend around the store. I was wondering if you could do something about that?" "how come you didn't report it to the manager?" the dad asked "I just thought that telling the parents would better" you smiled at the parents warmly "I'm sorry about our kids behavior, we'll do something about that immediately" "okay! thank you" you rolled up your window and drove away, and Turbo watched every last part when the parents ripped them a new one

"So, Bath & Body Works?" Turbo asked "yes! I had this coupon ever since this morning! buy 1 and get 1 free" you smiled as you drove away from Target, Turbo always adore listening to you rant about a topic you would love, even if it's boring. he glitched to King Candy.

Day 2: Istanbul

Another full day of adventures in this incredible city. We started our day at the Topkapi Palace, right in the shadow of the Haga Sophia. I knew nothing of this beautiful place before coming to Turkey, so everything I saw was a new and complete surprise. I of course took lots and lots of pictures of the various state rooms, halls, spaces for worship, as well as the beautiful garden areas. But the major highlight for me when getting to see the kaftans worn by the sultan, and learned about the delicate and beautiful process of the intricate tunics that were hand painted with prayers and numbers in Arabic, as a way of wearing your prayers and calls for protection every day.

Our next point of adventure was the basilica cistern, which is most definitely the most ethereal thing I have seen underground yet in my life. Though it used to hold water that could take care of the whole city, the water level has now dropped significantly to the point where you can enjoy the columns of the cistern, as well as various commissioned statues placed around the area. But the coolest part was definitely the Medusa heads; as a lover of Greek mythology, it was fascinating to see this misunderstood woman in various statue forms. I also loved that they kept the lights low and changing colors, because it just made the water and the pillars shine in such a beautiful way.

A lot of walking required a short rest and a moment to refresh, so we popped into a small cafe to have a coffee and a pastry. Though the cups are small, anyone who has ever had Turkish coffee knows it is stronger than espresso so it wakes you up very quickly. Coffee and an apple & walnut tart later.

After our cafe rest, we headed to see the mosque specifically built by Sultan Suleiman (Suleiman I, commonly known as Suleiman the Magnificent), as well as the beautiful resting places of both Suleiman but also Hürrem Sultan. I had a bit of nerdish-out moment because in the last year I discovered the Turkish show “Magnificent Century”, which is a dramatization of the relationship between Suleiman & Hürrem. Beautiful views of the Bosporus as well as some of remnants of palaces & protective walls of long ago.

Then we came to one of the other things I have been waiting for a while to see; The Grand Bazaar & The Spice Market. We visited the Bazaar first and I found myself overwhelmed with the colors and sounds and busy bustle of a maze of shops. We of course had to stop to purchase a pashmina, and I found a hand woven pashmina and a cashmere scarf that I look forward to getting to show off when I get home. Mom and Pat both got a beautiful pashmina themselves, each of us purchasing one which best suits our personalities. In the Spice Market, we found a hole in the wall tea shop where I got to try some DELICIOUS pomegranate tea, as well as some fresh Turkish Delight. As those of you who know me well as well aware, I am a massive tea nerd so I of course had to get some fresh teas. Luckily they were able to vacuum pack my tea so it will be able to safely get back to Louisville and stay fresh. Mom found some delicious teas for herself so she and I are going to have so much fun when we get home & can enjoy our teas in our own teapots.

The day came to a close with a lovely ferry ride around the Bosporus, which gave us the chance to see the city via the water, plus a chance to sit and just enjoy the view. Sergun, our awesome tour guide, was able to point out various locations of interest as well as the history of some of the oldest buildings on the coast. We pulled back into the harbor just as the sun was setting, and Sergun showed us the way to a very delicious kebab restaurant. I will say this, I haven’t had a bad meal/food since I’ve been here.

Tomorrow is our last full day in Istanbul as we head to the airport Sunday to head to Prague, so I know Sergun will make sure its a good day. No idea what he is planning for us but we have gotten to see so many beautiful and interesting places in only a day and half, so I know it will be a grand day.

Oh woe is me! My week began with great anticipation. D would drive to Evansville today (Friday) leaving me to my own devices for four days!

Early in the week I began curating a selection of Shane food to indulge in while on my own, simultaneously planning enough outings to make consuming it all a challenge. At one point D looked at the various containers of peppers, spices, and dry goods laid out on the counter and with some trepidation asked, "What are you making?"

I laughed and said I didn't know, I could make so many delightful dishes with these things I'll decide in the moment. She rolled her eyes smirked and said "Have fun."

When I woke up this morning I realized the scratchy throat I'd been ignoring for the last two days was now congestion and a cough. FUCK ME!

I sent a text canceling my Saturday plans which included Orval day, a new beer release, and whatever else I managed to wander into during Louisville's Bockfest. The town will be full of Sweet 16 fans and the bars and restaurants will be hopping!

I will be here, coughing and blowing my nose, while my 4 way chili, stuffed bell peppers, grilled wings, jalapeños poppers...taste bland and no beer gets drank at all!

Oh lord why hast thou forsaken me?

Lolol no one is complaining the kitchen smells like onions, I'm about to turn the speakers up to 90db, and I think I'll watch Nope in a little while. Yeah, I know, my white privileged suffering is something to be thankful for...as is this chili.

Even when a disturbance rippled the flow, be it a mildly annoying occurrence or a more gruesome crime, the creases tended to be smoothed out quickly, swallowed away in the mass of individuals, each and every living their existence in the role of a faceless protagonist, that populated the city, leaving behind just a few broken pieces that were forgotten just as quickly.
