Having a hard time finding pictures to make the wotsit myself, but I think Cook, Serve, Delicious! makes Speedrunner from Speedrunners a 2. This would make any other character from Speedrunners a 3 at most, but most of the crossover ones seem to already be known as 2s or 3s, so there don't seem to be any far-reaching implications

The game publisher/developers tinyBuild are having a massive sale!

This sale has actually been going on for a few days already- it began on April 5th. I didn't quite notice it until today though, so here we are! The sale will be ongoing until April 12th.

The thought occurs that, as more heroes appear in cities and arrest more villains, there will be more superheroes than actual criminals for them to target at some point. The premise of 'SpeedRunners' takes this to its logical conclusion: heroes racing each other to get to the criminals first.

The comic book aesthetics strike as soon as you start the game, with a heroic trumpeting BAAAAAAAAAAAAAH followed by more bombastic tracks through the gameplay and brightly coloured menus resembling comic panels. This complements the varied heroes that move in exaggerated animations to stand out from the levels.

Rather than aim for 1st place, the goal in 'SpeedRunners' is to simply keep up; the camera follows the lead racer and anyone who falls too far behind is eliminated. Maximise your speed with jumps, slides, swings, boosts, and items while using physics and the environment to your advantage. For example, if you use your grapple at terminal velocity, you’ll swing just as fast. Don’t get me started on slopes.

You never stop getting better at 'SpeedRunners'. Underneath the simple control scheme lies a complex system that rewards nuance and skill, making it accessible to new players while always being fun and cathartic for old ones. There are so many factors to learn and take in that the game is almost infinitely replayable. Gather your friends and family; this is one of my favourite ways to spend an evening.

Im gonna be so honest here. I think most speedrunners actually genuinely love the games they make speedruns of. Like do yall know how much time and energy it takes for speedrunners to study every inch of a video game, study every mechanic, the code itself, just to find the fastest way to complete it? Figuring out ways to glitch through, bypass, speed up, and soft break a game just enough to be able to get to the finish line? Like you dont just accidentally find all of these things in one go, it takes EFFORT. And out of what ive seen, plenty of speedrunners are more than happy to share their findings and experiences to help out other speedrunners, and often the games they speedrun are games they have already played normally at least once ot twice and enjoyed, like why would you put all that time an effort into something you dont like?

Also, it is EXTREMELY entertaining to see what lengths speedrunners are willing to go to to do certain runs, including giving themselves weird and borderline masochistic challenges and rules for certain runs, like "(insert game) run but i cant jump or use x item"

Imagine you live in pelican town. The new farmer has been here a couple weeks now and seems to be settling in, except... He's picking the weirdest friend choices. Like sure it's not weird to befriend the local fisherman, especially when he has an interest in fishing himself, but you're pretty sure you've seen him rooting through the Saloon's garbage with the local homeless man. As well, he keeps harassing the poor guy who works at Joja even though you KNOW he doesn't want to be friends with him.

And since you're on the topic of weirdness, isn't it odd he seemingly runs everywhere at a full sprint? Or just... Eats entire raw fish while fishing for "energy reasons"...

Despite all that, it's too early to call him off putting or anything... He has been engaging in town traditions, and he's started helping out with the old community centre. He's probably like the rest of you. Someone with a few quirks, that will fit in with the valley great!
