For lyric writers what has been your favourite song to write for? For non lyric writers we’re there any songs you read/heard the lyrics for that absolutely floored you?

J: I honestly really loved writing the Undertale stuff. Being able to explore the canon and tell a slightly deviant story was so much fun, and I love exploring “what-if” situations in general (e.g. Alphys Takes Action). In terms of my proudest lyrics, though, there’s definitely some stuff in the Indie Collection I’m extremely proud of, and I really love my lyrics from the Cycles cover we did for NITW.

Ana: just. all of the astral songs. like genuinely i am absolutely STUNNED by the lyrics on all of them. i don't know a lot about the lyric writing process but like??? all four of them just feel so. professional?? honestly just the entirety of those songs beyond the lyrics feels like that but just. WOW. i CONSTANTLY have them stuck in my head and the lyrics are so poetic and cool and foreshadow stuff in NITW so well if youre looking for it????

Kiera: not to be a rakuen stan on main but UHHHH

Alex: I have had an OBSCENE amount of fun writing for hollow knight. I can’t wait to show y’all :3

Suraht: I know I haven't written much for LLP yet, so I only have a small field to choose from...and none of it has been turned into a song for the channel yet...but one of the Stardew songs I wrote felt like I was writing a scene out of a sitcom, and that was amazingly fun to write.

Cello: Honestly? I'm just shocked at how easy Old Pickaxe came together for me to write. I just came home with "everything's the same, nothing ever changed" stuck in my head and That was it The way it shaped the rest of the musical is so cool to me bc like That came out of my head 😭

Loke: i mean i did write Longest Night last year (or was it 2 years ago? idr) - so that has to be my fave XD i am still so honoured and proud that i've had the chance to have so many talented people sing my lyrics <3

Riley: There are a few songs that I have written that are really special to me for different reasons: Clanky was the first song I wrote for LLP, I think Fireflies on the Porch might be my most “iconic” (it spurred both memes and themes), Go Get Dead Angel Face was my first fully original song for LLP and has the most views in my own channel so it will always hold a special place in my heart, and I had an absolute blast and a half cowriting the astral songs with my lovely and talented friends.

I adore lyric writing so much and I’m so honoured to have been given the opportunity to see one of my favourite art forms come to life by such incredibly talented singers and mixers. I won’t give anything away but I think I wrote upwards of 15 songs for the upcoming Indie Packages, and I love every single one of them- I think you will too.

Advanced: I don’t speak english

Lizzy: I found LLP through the astral songs and I’m still genuinely so obsessed with them? I was just talking the other day about how good they are and how dang good they sound coming through car speakers on full blast. They’re just so good and make me feel things (mostly just the emotion of 😮 ) every single time

Tex: I've not written many songs for LLP but I think my favourite one I've done is Dinner at Bea's or [REDACTED DDLC SONG]

Tobin: I don't think I'm allowed to name the specific favorite song since the Cuphead songs are as of yet unreleased, but my favorite part about writing those songs as a whole is how full of personality each of the characters are which makes it pretty smooth sailing as far as lyrics are concerned.

Top 10 female characters!! Tagged by @them0thprince (sort of :P)

Thanks to working from home nowadays, I had a lot of time to overthink this, lol. It was fun at least! In no particular order:

1) Furiosa (Mad Max: Fury Road) Icon.

2) Aeryn Sun (Farscape) A lot of what I love in Furiosa, expanded through a TV show. What can I say, I love a no-nonsense badass with an ‘all I thought I could be is X, but what if I could be more?’ character arc.

3) Molly Grue (The Last Unicorn) Speaking of which. I will always love that when Molly Grue at last meets a beautiful, ethereal unicorn, her reaction is just openly indignant and bitter. Also, holy crap the bitterness of Molly Grue has never been more relatable in these times. When millennials are finally hitting goals or milestones older generations reached in their 20s, we will all be Molly Grue, middle aged and shaking these milestones shouting ‘How dare you come to me now? Where were you when I was new?’

4) Terra (Final Fantasy VI) Okay, so seeing a female character struggling with the idea of love and discovering it through non-hetero, non-romantic means was really novel and resonated a lot for younger-me still figuring out my gay asexual self. Terra also has green hair, amazing theme music and can transform into a pink haired magic creature to wreck shit up. What’s not to love, I ask.

5) Rose Quartz (Steven Universe) Not my favourite character from SU but the most interesting. I’ve never seen a character quite like Rose, or the way we see her archetype deconstructed and her character growth revealed in a backward fashion. I find her character deeply sad, and the fact that her strange, grim death-but-not-death is how we get our protagonist in Steven ... it strikes such a melancholy note in an otherwise optimistic series and that fascinates me to no end.

6) Mae Borowski (Night in the Woods) NitW was the first time I felt really truly seen in the media I consumed. The game came to me after the worst of my uni years, but playing through Mae’s story helped me to admit/recognise that those times were Not Okay and also made me feel less alone about feeling stuck and not having my life “together”. I love this trash mammal a lot.

7) Chihiro (Spirited Away) It was really hard deciding between Studio Ghibli’s many amazing female characters but Chihiro’s character growth is so lovely and peak “emotional ghibli wholesomeness” for me.

8) Emily Fields (Pretty Little Liars) You always remember the first character you saw on TV and noticed the hints they weren’t straight and desperately hoped you weren’t reading into things and then holy shit turns they canonically ARE gay (with a side of “why do I feel so extremely invested in this??”). what a time to be alive that was

9) Miss Honey (Matilda) Matilda was such a cathartic movie for me growing up. I watched it semi-recently as a grown adult and can confirm: still cathartic. And now that I’m older I appreciate the narrative of Miss Honey’s adulthood trauma more and more. Miss Honey and her quiet kindness and bravery are also just #goals in so many ways.

10) Princess Zelda (Legend of Zelda) Specifically Ocarina of Time and Breath of the Wild Zelda. I’m always drawn to the mystic character in an ensemble (not that this list actually reflects that, haha), and OoT Zelda gives us not only a mystic but also a genderbending ninja hero with amazing theme music!! With BotW Zelda, it was so, so cool and exciting to see a Zelda struggle and not be innately competent. And to express bitterness and anxiety about her life. And she’s a nerd. And her story is fabulously tragic. I just ... I love herrrrrr!

Dream Trip: Road trip! Travel across the country and stat and sightsee cities and forests. Favorite Food: Grilled fish! Usually doesn't matter what kinda fish, but I've not tried all fish. If not fish, then either siomai or siopao

Veasna

She’s a bluish gray crocodile(Kind of like Bea except more blue, if that makes sense)with dark, dark brown eyes

Her family lived in Possum Springswhen shewas a child

Her fatherwas a police officer then even but one day he came home insisted they pack everything up and moved.

Over the summer her sister decides to go and investigate Possum Springs to seewhy their dad left in such a rush and refuses to speak of it. Veasna tags along per usual.

They both find a lot more then they expected and end up being chased out of Possum Springs by an angered cult. They agree to never speak of this trip again.

Kather

Kather’s a cream and black colored scottish fold cat he’s still got his bright gold eyes too.

Way backwhen Kather’s family(on his mom’s side) had owned stock in the factory in Possum Springs. They ended up selling their stock thoughwhen they realized the businesswas failing.

Kather ends up in Possum Springs after an attempt to run away from home. He fell asleep on the bus and waswokenwhen they got to Possum Springs.

While attempting to hide out in the woods he ends up walking in on a cult gathering. He has to run from them and ends up losing his backpack while running.

A police officer nearly hits himwhile he’s running and takes him back to the police station. They finally manage to convince him to tell themwho he is and the police end up calling his parents.
