HURRAY!! 🥳🎉 I feel like you can pick up the manic energy in this post that having several baby creatures around at once brings, but look. It be be how it be. 😂
I FINALLY DID IT. My RedBubble is open, me hearties. ✌😌✨
Were the slides reminiscent enough of those sparkly paint ads you used to get on the side of online games in the 2000s? If not I'll have to work harder next time. 😎👍

now that the rose colored glasses are shattered i'm remembering how every game he liked felt like he was trying to make it a "him thing" and im annoyed. its cute to have some memes and fanart and references and of course he can grow out of interests but it got into territory where it feels like he was just riding the popularity. soon as nobody was talking about minecraft, or detroit bh, or little misfortune, neither was he- and i KNOW he can keep doing a dead meme bc he did that floppy banana thing for eons. maybe still is idk- but im especially irritated about among us, bc i dont think hes ever tried to make /merch/ for one of those games
You’re not the only one. There’s been fanbases of games who’ve been severely annoyed with Sean trying to take over the entire game. When the community starts spamming their fanart and shitposts and inside jokes about Sean in a game community like among us, animal crossing, Sotc.. I remember the fanbase of Senua Hellblade got REAL angry with JSE stans spamming their shit in their tag when Sean didn’t even get the meaning behind the game and exploited it for his own clout. He’s an exploiter, using things, to cover up for how shit as a person he is.. Because if he’d start making his channel his own, without the popular trends.. It’d die down quickly because no one wants to watch a whiny privileged idiot.

2018
Somehow I went into 2018 with a clear head and clear mission and I ended it super unsure of myself, of everything. It’s always easy to look back and see the good; I say this every year. And I certainly have had some amazing things happen this year, but this time around I see those as distractions to the cloud of sadness, uncertainty, and anxiety that’s been over head all year.
I’ve let my imposter syndrome eat me alive...and I’m not sure what to do about, it’s persistent despite having achieved a lot. This year I designed merch for a handful of bands (no one that I really listen to) but exciting none the less. Knuckle Puck sold my design at the last Warped Tour. I got to see kids walking around wearing it which was surreal (now I look at it and feel disappointed I didn’t make something better, haha). I designed for Chloe Moriondo, Tiny Moving Parts, Remo Drive, The Spill Canvas, Save Face, Otherways Music, and the biggest; a music video for Sleep On It. That one is the craziest to me. Like really crazy. I hope in 2019 I get to work with some of my dream bands.
I went to something like ~55 shows which means i spent like 1/6th of my nights in sweaty venues singing along to songs I love. Some bands I’ve wanted to see for a while and finally got to see this year were Taking Back Sunday, The Killers, Arctic Monkeys, Andrew McMahon (I saw him open for panic but this was a full, unique set), and Hozier! Hozier was really special. I also photographed 15 shows! So I did fulfill that resolution of shooting more shows; I’m really proud of the photos I’ve taken. I also interviewed New Politics and there’s a clip of me talking to them on Alternative Press. I saw The Wonder Years a lot this year, and saw so many friends and screamed with so many friends. Some other super memorable shows were Hinds, SOTC, Boston Calling, Misterwives, All Time Low, the final Warpeds.
The first few months of this year feels like multiple life times ago, I can barely remember, or I look back at photos and think, oh there’s no way that was in 2018. I think this summer is the split. This summer was the glowing light of this year, the only redeeming part. At the beginning I traveled to Boston and Philly for music. I turned 21 and had an iconic emo night party in a Brooklyn airbnb. And kissed someone you all know from this site lmao wild. But I had a good ass time, a rarity on my bday. Then I flew off to Nashville. I hope everyone gets a chance to live with their best friend for a summer. I had a lot of fun + made the most of the week a flew home and photographed Taylor Swift at Metlife. Heard a lot of music, had lots of trips to Dozens, lots of margaritas, lots of walks on broadway and the pedestrian bridge.
And then the summer ended and I had to go back to Pratt. This past semester was horrible....really unbelievably horrible that I don’t even want to get into it. Like I don’t even know who I am anymore. But there was independent publishing, and the radio, and I made friends who I love a lot. I hope we get closer + don’t lose touch when we all Escape in a few months.
My favorite day of this year was when Dylan drove through Nash and Dan, him, and I went to Cummins Falls. We started the day with pancakes, hiked through water for a bit, saw the falls, lost Daniella’s keys, and drove home. The drive home was just one of those perfect moments, you have your bathing suit on under your clothes even though it’s still a little wet, and your hair is a mess, and air is balmy and warm, the sun is setting on the road ahead of you, and the Killers are playing, you’re a little tired, but don’t want to fall asleep and miss a minute of it. Then we got Thai food and had to make a copy of the house key for Dan at Walmart.
I want more moments like that in 2019, at the very least.

music: shadow of the city
Taking the idea of a hometown show to an entirely new level, Shadow of the City was created four years ago by Bleachers frontman Jack Antonoff simply to celebrate the state of New Jersey and all of the incredible people who come from it. For me, attending the festival this year meant that I would be having my first real encounter with the intense loyalty that natives of the state feel towards it, so I have to admit that I was a little nervous about sticking out as the Midwest-raised, recently converted New Yorker that I am. Yet, from the moment I stepped off my NJ Transit train at the Asbury Park station last Saturday, I too began to realize just how great the Garden State can be.
The festival was hosted right off of the Jersey shore (which is nothing like how it looks on the show, by the way) at the Stone Pony Summerstage. As the name would suggest, the grounds were located just outside the famed venue that is most well-known for helping start the career of music legend and New Jersey native Bruce Springsteen. This historic location was the perfect addition to the already present theme that came up in everything from festival merch plastered with the state’s silhouette to constant mentions of its importance during Bleachers’ headlining set at the end of the night.
SOTC included a lineup of some of today’s best up-and-coming acts as well as a few added twists along the way that really made it stand out from any average festival. Here are a few of the highlights:
Ally Coalition Dunk Tank:
Audience members who donated to the Ally Coalition got to have a shot at sending Antonoff and other members of Bleachers into a frigid, chest high pool of water straight out of a hometown carnival. Enough said.

Mario Kart Tournament:
After emerging victorious from a group of over forty competitors, three guys got to sit on a couch onstage alongside Antonoff and battle it out for some massive bragging rights and a huge prize pack during the Mario Kart Tournament. A crowd of hundreds gathered around for the final showdown, yelling and jumping around in support of whomever they adopted as their favorite competitor right up until the very end.
Julien Baker:
It’s truly not an exaggeration when I say it took Julien Baker mere seconds to captivate every member of the audience during her set that was full to the brim with melancholy vocals and echoing guitar parts. Falling just at the cusp of a golden sunset that seemed to just engulf the entire landscape behind her, everything about Baker’s performance had an almost cinematic feeling that everyone couldn’t help but be entranced by.

Hayley Kiyoko:
Coming off of her VMA win just a week prior, Hayley Kiyoko’s energy was definitely something to note. As an outspoken member of the LGBTQ+ community, it also was obvious that she couldn’t have been more excited to be performing at the Ally Coalition centered event, declaring this year “20GAYteen” and even signing the pride flag of a fan in the audience while on stage.

Bleachers:
By the time 8:30 came around, everyone was obviously anxious for Bleachers’ headlining set. From singing along at the top of our lungs and jumping around to “Let’s Get Married” to being almost in tears during “Like a River Runs,” we all were in for quite the emotional Rollercoaster (pun intended). Taking a few breaks just to talk to the audience about what the show meant to him, Antonoff really made it clear that this show was a pretty special one. Speaking on behalf of everyone I saw around me in the crowd, it’s safe to say we all definitely felt the same.

Y’ALL
The tour show was a blast!!! I’m so fuckin happy I went!! Seeing Jack is person is so much more fun that seeing through a screen. I don’t wanna spoil it for anyone (I know I would’ve hated it if I had it spoiled for me),,, but here’s some things that I LOVED from our show in Durham
Sammy! That little boy was a blessing to everyone
The silent chant that really didn’t work
The “TITTY SPRINKLES” chant
Jack got a SotC mask from someone!!
aDVancED DarKNesS
That one reference to Anti that only like half the people got
The 3 people that cheered when he called someone a doctor ((Schneeplestein))
The @hdwghtourproject lights!! I was so exciting to find one in my cupholder, thank you!
Leva,, who didn’t really feel like talking, so Jack gave her the name LevAlone and everyone died laughing
The college girl who was crying when she asked Jack about help with school and fear
When Vernon tripped on the 3rd level seating but no one saw it (shhh don’t tell anyone)
Some kick-ass Anti cosplay that I saw
There was a little girl in the bathroom who was really excited to see my shirt and beanie (the ones from the Marvel lootbox) and told me that she was going to get some too from the merch line
Everyone looked super happy to be there and to be themselves (and to show off their merch) and fit in with everyone else
The cheering when Jack mentioned the LGBT+ community (so sweet)
Aaaand the overall theme of the show, which I won’t say, but was really awesome and lovely
Yeah!!! It was so much fun! Thank you Jack for coming to Durham and hanging out with us. It means so much that a Youtuber would come here (Mark closest show to me was 5 hours away). Anyway, I’ll be posting pictures in a bit :)
