Maybe Sophie should have said something before she hugged Crowley, but it wasn't something she planned on doing. It was out of instinct, one that she was embarrassed of now that he was asking her why she was doing it. Still, despite that embarrassment she didn't let go yet.

"Haven't seen you in a hot minute," she admitted. Despite the tough exterior of the group, hunters sure liked to spread rumors and gossip, and word on the streets was that the Winchesters were about causing trouble, and the gossip was saying a certain King of Hell was helping.

She knew first hand the collateral damage Sam and Dean tended to cause, hence the worry. "Just glad to see you in one piece."

But even before we received that, Lars shared that James did say one thing he thought was particularly interesting, which was “prisoner of childhood.” So Lars was the guy who distilled a lot of what James had to say into a phrase that became extremely powerful for us creatively. It was a brilliant synthesis of all the ideas behind 72 Seasons in three words.
