I finally finished watching/listening to the 1h30 Metal Mayhem interview with Kirk and I LOVED IT.

But that's not the point.

Sunday I went for a walk and I caught up with the latest eps of MetRep, and in one of them Rob was saying that one thing that he loves about Kirk is that... He is friend to everyone, in the same way. He can hang out with surfers the same way he can hang out with Elton John. Same warmth, same enjoyment.

And like, here he is, chatting with this dude -Rob Thomas- who helped them in 83, who was a friend, gave them ride etc, and having fun, thanking him for the pizza and the companionship and one up-ing him again and again in the "do you remember" area. It all felt like an actual reunion between long lost friends and not an interview.

And idk, I am weak for friendships, but truly multiple times it was just friends chatting along, about inconsequential little things, no hero worship, Rob Thomas looked just SO happy to be able to talk with his friend again and Kirk too.
