KuroKen | Bodyguard AU
- - -
Kenma has never worked with someone so annoying. This man was annoying. His laugh was obnoxious. His hair looked like he slicked it up with mud. He kept flirting with him and cracking the worst jokes.
And Kenma had to keep him safe.
It was comical to anyone on the outside looking in. Kenma was almost a full foot shorter than the prince, but anyone who knew his reputation didn’t question it.
No one who hired him ever got injured. Not even a scratch.
But that didn’t mean he liked it. Kenma rolled his eyes for the third time in 10 minutes.
“…and that’s how I managed to fight off three of his guys with one hand tied behind my back.”
“So I guess you don’t need me to stick around, do you, Prince?”
Kuro crossed his arms. “Of course I can take care of myself but the King insists on hiring you so there must be a reason.”
“It’s because your loud fucking mouth gives away your position.”
“I can think of ways to keep my loud fucking mouth occupied.”
Kenma’s eye twitched and he almost threw his cup at him. “Yeah maybe a gag.”
“Good guess. I’m into that.”
“You know what? I can escort you in a box.”
Kuro reached across the table and lifted Kenma’s chin with his finger. “Aw, but then I can’t see your pretty face.”
Kuro smiled in triumph when he saw the blush take over Kenma’s face. The blond ripped his face away and looked away.
“Whatever.”
A month later Kenma finds himself in his first tense meeting. Kuro sitting across from some asshat diplomat who looks like he wants nothing more than to stab a knife into his eye.
Kenma has his finger on the trigger already. Just in case the deal goes south.
Kuro seems unfazed. Actually, he’s having a fantastic time despite the other guy having 5 trained guards behind him.
“I think you can offer us more than that.” Kuro says with a flick of the wrist. “This amount of money for the protection we offer is honestly insulting.”
“It’s all we can afford.”
“That’s not what I’ve heard.” Kuro leans forward and Kenma’s eyes target onto one of the guards that’s getting a little too fidgety.
Untrained dogs was all Kenma could compare them to.
“You need new sources.”
“You can find new protection.”
Kenma isn’t sure how it starts, but his hand acts on its own. A bullet is lodged between the eyes of a guard before he could even lift his weapon.
The other 4 stand back, frozen in fear as the body drops to the ground.
“Good boy.” Kuro purrs, pulling Kenma into his lap at the table. The blond doesn’t react, used to this behavior after a month of him.
“Get your dog away from the table.”
“I think we’re quite done here.” Kuro snaps, irritation lacing his words for the first time.
Kuro stands and moves to exit the room, Kenma a step behind. He stops at the door and looks down at Kenma with a sinister smile.
“Erase them.”
And he does.
