Swipe to see my first attempt at plein air watercolor. 😐 I spent a few hours following stumpy ponies around the grounds at "Someday Farm" an amazing vegan bed and breakfast @emilyfiegenschuh and I were at this weekend on Whidbey island. Tried putting my @jamesgurneyart hat on, but I didn't really utilize the medium well. For instance I should have planned better and used the white of the paper for "Shirley's" mane and tail, instead I ended up having to use more of an opaque dry brush application with white to get the lighter value. (It's hard to shake my gouache habits) It was fun though! We have a friend that has a few ponies and horses so I'll have to get more practice this summer.
