欲言难止/Eternities Still Unsaid Till You Love Me -- by 麦香鸡呢
所以被忘记也没有关系,他已经遇到过最好的人。 So having been forgotten is of no consequence, because he has already met the best person. -- Chapter 85
A modern ABO story set an ambiguous alternate timeline, with a secret crush/pining A/A relationship
(no, we are not talking about Sunset Boulevard)
The story is free on Changpei.
Synopsis [spoiler-free]
Lu Heyang is the son of the Executive Minister of The Union. During an excursion to an infamous underground fight ring with his friends, he recognizes star fighter "Number 17" is Xu Ze, a fellow student at The Prep Academy. The Prep is a selective secondary school catering to elite families, but poor orphan Xu Ze attends on a scholarship due to being a rare Class-S Alpha.
Xu Ze fights for the quick money he can make in the ring, and is trapped in an exploitative contract because he needs money to treat his grandmother's mental and physical health problems. He has been harboring a secret crush on Lu Heyang for years, but he never plans to act on his feelings because they belong to different worlds.
Lu Heyang is also curious about the Alpha from the fight ring, and he quickly sees through Xu Ze's feelings in their interactions at school. Behind Lu Heyang's life of wealth and privilege is a cold an ruthless Alpha father, and beloved family members whose happiness and marriage have been sacrificed as political pawns. Lu Heyang reciprocates Xu Ze's feelings, for the break Xu Ze offers from his world of rules and manipulation, and also the sincerity and depth of Xu Ze's devotion.
Their teenage love affair ends more suddenly and dramatically than anyone has expected. The shady boss of the underground fight ring grows desperate and deranged as his business collapses, while Minister Lu applies pressure to get back control over his son. A devastating truth from Xu Ze and Lu Heyang's past surfaces, and their lives diverge again like it was always meant to be.
Fortunately, they meet again years later, as a decorated Colonel from the Air Force and a promising young military doctor ...
my thoughts
There is something so deliciously bittersweet about pinning, and this novel is dripping with it. Xu Ze secretly keeps everything Lu Heyang has ever given (handed) to him and tracks their every encounter. He never expects Lu Heyang to notice him, befriend him, and reciprocate his feelings. When they get together, he doesn't expect to it to last. But none of that matters. In an adolescence riddled with loneliness, poverty, ailing family members, and semi-self-imposed social isolation, every moment with Lu Heyang feels like a gift he has stolen from a better life that he does not deserve.
This relationship really reminds me of Zhang Jue and Chen Boqiao from Sunset Boulevard by Kabiqiu. The nearly-invisible person deep in unrequited love never expects their feelings to be returned, so there is a surprising audacity and directness in their interactions with the objects of their affection. The golden boy is almost a little suspicious about this unexpected devotion and affection, but they eventually chooses approach it with equal level of sincerity. They become the ones to teach their partners what it means to be loved back, and ironically, they to take initiative to secure the relationship since their partners don't really believe it will actually happen....
In this universe, Alpha-Alpha relationships are uncommon and unconventional, but no one actually does or says anything to the main couple about it. The main characters themselves don't really agonize over this either, other than thinking about the practical aspects of getting acceptance for their relationship.
I do wish the relationship can feel a bit sweeter -- which is a strange request, because it is really sweet all things considered, but Xu Ze doesn't dare to believe Lu Heyang could ever be within his reach. The narrative feels "unnecessarily" pessimistic and depressing because Xu Ze is narrating through his insecurity and obliviousness, even while Lu Heyang is working hard to make their relationship work.
"Right, of course I only care about my reputation and not at all concerned about you," Lu Heyang would say sarcastically, because he is a little angry that Xu Ze would think that. But Xu Ze just thinks, "Yes, that is completely reasonable, he is agreeing with me!"
I guess all of Xu Ze's brain cells are reserved for his future career as an award-winning medical researcher and military doctor, so he has none to spare for his relationship with Lu Heyang ...
Other random memorable details
Lu Heyang's Alpha father is going straight to the top of "Worst Danmei Dad" ranking. *screams into a pillow in rage* But the Omega dad loves his children and does a lot to help them.
One of Lu Heyang's best friends, Gu Yunchi, is the protagonist of another novel (that the author announced but hasn't written yet). It's kind of amusing seeing tidbits of his drama in the background knowing there is enough dogblood to fill up an entire novel.
The main couple gets a pregnancy scare as teenagers, so Lu Heyang takes Xu Ze to the Gu family's private clinic. They sign the test results with Gu Yunchi's name, who is also an Alpha and gong in his own novel .... The comment section has high hopes for the comedic potential of this detail in Gu Yunchi's own novel
Xu Ze has a really good Omega friend throughout high school and his medical career. I love how much he cares about Xu Ze, and he often calls out how stupid Xu Ze is being about Lu Heyang.
This is one of the few times where I really want the main couple to have a baby. Of course Xu Ze wants a baby with Lu Heyang, but the text also shows that he really likes kids! They left this possibility open during the pregnancy scare, but it never happens in the story ....

Sevi experiences YGO: DSOD
Promised a rambling, and ramble I will! Took notes of what stood out to me while watching, so, have a jumbled of hyped thoughts here guys! =D:
* The animation is so amazing! I love it!
 * More grown-up Yugi looks so much like the pharaoh – but somehow still like himself – it’s like… a mixture. Makes me both nostalgic and so very proud of Yugi. He used to be this nervous, chubby-cheeked kid, and now he’s… all grown up! He’s even holding a SPEECH! Boy’s a man now! So proud. =D
 * It’s kinda weird to here Tea and Joey call the Pharaoh “Atem” now – they didn’t get to use his name for long before he left, it’s still so new to me that hearing it like that is… weird XD
 * Diva – or Aigami – has an interesting design, looks-wise as well as his drive and goal. It especially the later reminds me of Yami Bakura (initially) and Marik both. Poor kid who wants to change the world with his power, wants the pharao’s power for it? Yeah, I see both of them in there. The mix makes it just unique enough to be interesting though. (Also, his powers are quite unique. I like them!)
  * I actually love that the dreams and goals of the characters from way, way back in the series were picked up again and it shows them going for them after the whole Millenium Battle is over. Tea becoming a dancer, Ryou living his life without a ghost taking over all the time, Tristan working with technical stuff, Joey still a passionate duelist all the way, Yugi planning to design games… I’m so happy they focused on that. It all was ignored completely during the series - predictably, but still, it made up a lot of their character, and that was just never developed during the series… I’m happy they are doing it now, at least.
 * Kaiba is still… well, Kaiba. It’s actually kinda reassuring to have his snark and pride right there – refusing even to be sent into a different dimension by magic by just… not wanting to. (Okay, by his new technical advancement, but you know what I mean.) Or calling back a god who was not even supposed to exist anymore. “It’s no monster – it’s a god!” Nice to see some things don’t really change. XD
(You know, at least he finally accepted the magic, the pharaoh and Yugi being two different entities, and so on. That took a whole damn long time, okay.)
  * Dimension summoning? Really? Hello? They just made up an entire new duel monster summoning for one movie instead of a whole series. Okay then. (I like it, I was just speechless for a second.)
  * Nice to see that Bakura’s trauma of having been the vessel to a murderous ghost – forced to kill people with his body, but no chance of stopping it – is actually addressed. Painful to watch, but very nice that it isn’t just glossed over. (Also, Ryou is just… so sweet and good. There’s a guy trying to kill him, and he… feels sorry. Com’ on, give the guy some slack already!)
  * Not really happy how they turned the story of Bakura’s father though – he was supposed to be just a naïve guy who didn’t know what the Millenium ring was and ultimately, a good guy. Here he was… just a crazed, greedy dude, asking for the ring even when his worried son was right beside him. And anyway, wasn’t Shadi still alive much later? He met Yugi – a teenage Yugi – before he was killed. I am confusion
  * Pharaoh not only appearing in the great finale, but also to help Joey out… you know what? I’m gonna go ahead and think he’s just constantly watching over his friends, only appearing to help when it’s absolutely necessary – choosing to let them handle it themselves as long as they can because he believes in them. (It’s also interesting to note that in Ancient Egypt, pharaohs who went to the afterlife were believed to become gods – so technically? Atem’s a god now. Basically explaining why he can still influence the living world if he wants to.)
  * “Back off, or we’re gonna have a problem!” – can I once again point out how proud I’m of Yugi? Yelling at Kaiba? Threatening him? Making him chance his mind? (That’s like a miracle in itself) I want to hug Yugi. HE’S SO GROWN UP NOW
  * I like how Yugi’s – and Kaiba’s – monsters are still the same at the core, but got a little glow-up fitting for the new animation and new story. Nice mix of nostalgia and hype for the new stuff!
  * Does “Cool motive, still murder” apply to Diva, too? I see where’s coming from – I feel sorry for him - but if someone has the power to chance reality itself why go around and send “bad people” to another dimension, instead of going around and bringing good things into existence? I’m just saying. (Shadi, I’m looking at you, too. Never really liked your methods, either.)
  * Kaiba not realizing that Yugi is right there and he could have him as his rival – the guy who beat the pharaoh after all – is also… just very Kaiba. It took an entire series of over 200 episodes for him to accept that there is magic, there are rebirths (he was one of them) and now it takes kicking his ass for another few years until he realizes that Yugi is the rival he is looking for. Sigh. XD
  * “You really hate dragons, don’t you” – no I more hate that Kaiba gets the funniest lines all the time. XD
  * Yugi solving the puzzle and nothing happening… I think what hurt the most was that Yugi didn’t look surprised. He was absolutely calm. He knew all along. He knew very well, because he was the one who felt pharaoh’s passing the most. He had to live with that every day and he had accepted that all along. Not like Kaiba, who was still chasing after – well, a ghost.
That was so well done – especially given that the series was sometimes unnecessarily dramatic. Here, it wasn’t. It was completely silent as it told you “He’s not coming back (fully) guys”.
  * “Well, he has looked better” – “I’m getting really tired of that laugh” - again, Kaiba with the freaking lines.
  * Kaiba sacrificing himself to have Yugi win – look, sometimes I want to slap him, but honestly, he’s not that bad of a guy. How many times has he done something like that now? He always comes through in the end.
  * Not even embarrassed to say I had tears in my eyes when Atem made an appearance. I was a kid when I watched the final episode. Seeing him return in such a fashion - in almost complete silence, no words needed there, not fully returning, but only a support for Yugi – I’m emotional, okay. That’s my childhood coming by to say hello. (Also, Yugi wasn’t just along for the ride – they were doing this together. Made it even better.)
  * “How is he doing?” – that’s probably the best reaction they could have had to that. Not “Is he coming back?” or “Will we see him again?” Nah, just is he okay?
  * EVERYONE GOT THEIR NEW BEGINNINGS and Kaiba literally just went back in time. Is there anything he can’t do? Is there someone who can stop him? AND HE JUST SAID THANK YOU TO MOKUBA. Out loud! On cam! He has lost his mind! Where will this madness end?! XD (I’m kidding)
Ah well. I’m happy everyone is gonna be alright and happy. This was a fantastic way to say hello again and goodbye to all of them at the same time. I’m absolutely hyped and delighted by this entire movie. =D

once you get around to listening to lover what did you think !!! im v curious on your opinions about it heh
thank u for wanting my opinion. i thought i was gonna make it a brief review thingy but i cannot be brief for the life of me. i’m sorry. anyway,
i’mthankful it’s a long album because based on me! i knew i’d like it. not thatme! is a masterpiece or anything but it’s brighter and more fun than herprevious era which i Did Not like. i know reputation is, taylor swift history-wise, important. it’san album she did no press for and allowed the songs speak for themselves and i really like this idea and the sentiment behind it, i’m just Not A Fan of the execution. edgy taylor swift doesn’twork for me. don’t blame me slaps tho. i’ll probably compare these songs to alot of reputation, sorry.
anyway. loveris a more colorful album and probably my favorite pop album from ms. swift, i’m not good at like. Grading things so i won’t be like ‘this is a 8.5 kind of album’ cause like. i don’t know numbers? what you need to know is that it’s a good album. let’s gowith the tracks:
may i add that this is not coming from a taylor swift fan, however i have several friends who are into taylor swift so it’s hard not to get the slightest 2nd hand interest.
i forgot that you existed: was excited as soon as it started! theproduction is lighter and less dramatic. i feel like contrary to reputationwhere she was kind of obsessed with the people who hurt her and betrayed her inthe previous years, this song is a nice way of letting go. a nicer, yet stillkind of shady, revenge by being like. Oh. You Mean Nothing To Me Anymore.
fave lyrics: “it isn’t love, it isn’thate, it’s just indifference so.. yeah.”
cruel summer: the chorus…. amazing! i remember reallydisliking her reputation singles, especially “ready for it” because it was veryunnecessarily dark and, again – in my opinion – dark and edgy doesn’t work fortaylor swift.  BUT, rfi had that chorusthat escaped the intense beats and kind of went back a little to her 1989 eraand it’s the one thing from the song that i actually tolerated. and i feel likeall of cruel summer is song that fits the melody of the rfi chorus better thanrfi itself. does that make sense?
fave lyrics:the entire bridge but especially: “i don’twanna keep secrets just to keep you” and “i love you, ain’t that the worst thing you ever heard?”
lover: 11/10. fucked me the fuck up. it’s a song aboutlove that isn’t a still-too-fresh-and-uncertain love, or some angsty love. it’sjust love. she’s properly in love and is singing about it with somuch care and certainty. it’s a happy song about the one she loves and how could i hate it? bestsong in the entire album. probably my 2nd fave taylor swift song ofall time
favelyrics: “with every guitar string scar onmy hand” so much is being said in this one fucking line. i absolutelyfucking love it. the fact that this song was 100% written by her is a big plus.
the man: honestly was kinda stressed about the kind of discoursethis one could cause, especially cause of the lack of addressing the whitenessof it all but idk. this is her ownexperience so how much can we ask from her? and also in many ways this feels like 5years late but i’m not gonna complain about this. better late than never (andshe has addressed sexism in her songs before so it’s not like she’s just starting at feminism). she’s made severalpoints w this one and it sounds good.
favelyrics: the part where she’s like “what if i was bragging about the models i’mfucking?” cause like. girl is aware of aspecific group in her fandom and i appreciate the little nod (it being real ornot)
archer: love the lyrics. this was like. the 3rdsong from this album that she released and i was So Relieved to actually SEEsongwriter taylor swift coming through. it’s a great song about self hatred andreflection, etc. but i’ve listened to it enough times to know i’m gonna be skippingthis one when i’m listening to this album.
favelyrics: “screaming ‘who could ever leaveme darling?’ but who could stay?”
i think he knows: the chorus and her vocals… *chef’s kiss*. loveit. cute crush song. more mature yet fun style that works for her.
fave lyrics:all of the chorus.
miss americana: i get it, i see the politics of it all but. i’mgonna skip it. soz
favelyrics: “my team is losing, battered andbruising i see the high fives between the bad guys”
paper rings: YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSS. again, pure, happy, bubbly, unashamed love. a love bop that i adore.
fave lyrics:“i like shiny things but i’d marry youwith paper rings / i hate accidents except when we went from friends to this”
corneliastreet: it’s a nostalgic song that i can’t decide if it’s exactly abreak-up song or not. i like to think the “sacrednew beginning / that became my religion” lyrics are a nod to her bestreputation song aka don’t blame me. i’m so-so on this one but it’s definitely notbad, don’t think i’ll be skipping it for now.
favelyrics: “that’s the kinda heartbreak timecould never mend / (…) and baby i get mystified by how this city scream yourname”
death by a thousand cuts: eh? it’s nice and soft and sad-ish but. idk.not right now - since the album is still pretty fresh to me - but i’ll probablystart skipping this one eventually.
favelyrics: “you said it was a great love, one for the ages / but if the story’s over why am I still writing pages?”
bondon boy: i am so sorry for every londoner that had tolisten to this one. i could hear it being offensive as soon as she startedsaying those words. it sounds nice and fun but jesus christ taylor. it’s likesomeone from her label said “you gottamake it clear you’re fucking that joe dude or your album won’t sell” andtaylor immediately googled ‘british slang’ and wrote this song.
fave lyrics:“but something happened i heard himlaughing / i saw the dimples first and then i heard the accent” i’m asimple phannie. i hear the word dimples i think of dan
soon you’ll get better: bro. was not ready. you can hear thepain and fear in her voice. the chorus kind of reminds me of “never grow up”(aka my fave taylor swift song), etc. the sad, almost hopeless addition of “cause you have to” is so heartbreaking. it’sa personal and gorgeous yet sad song, and she goes back to her country roots for this one,so that’s nice. absolutely beautiful.
fave lyrics:hard to choose but “you like the nicernurses you make the best of a bad deal / i just pretend it isn’t real / i’llpaint the kitchen neon, i’ll brighten up the sky / i know i’ll never get itthere’s not a day that i won’t try” i hate, hate, the notion ofromanticizing a sad and scary situation like this one, and i think i understandthis as less of romanticizing and more of sympathizing with, cause i’ve alsobee in this situation with my family – but because it was just a few days agothat phil revealed his father’s battle with cancer, i couldn’t help but thinkof him too and how much he must have feared for his dad while still trying to keep it together for everyone around him.
false god: love the sax. i know i will fully love thissong at some point. i know it. i’m just not there yet. i like the parts when she has torush her words. i’ll get there with this one.
favelyrics: “they all warned us about timeslike this / they say the road gets hard and you get lost”
you need to calm down: fun, boppy, cute. i get what shewas going for and appreciate it. it’s a more carefree pop song and i’m okaywith it. not unskippable though.
fave lyrics:“and i ain’t tryna mess with your self expressionbut i’ve learned a lesson that stressing and obsessing bout somebody else is nofun”
afterglow: i don’t know yet. probably one i’ll skip. notbad, i don’t think there’s a song in this album that is necessarily Bad, butthis one is just not really memorable.
fave lyrics:don’t have one actually. soz
me!: definitely not a masterpiece BUT introduced usto this era which is probably her best pop era. i loved the absolute changefrom the reputation era, bringing back colors, bringing back fun, introducing amore politically active taylor swift, etc. i also like the idea that she knowsthat this is not her best work but she knew that if she was gonna make a catchyradio friendly pop song, she’d make one that’s about self love, etc.
fave lyrics: i’m a simple girl, “me e e e, o o o oh”
it’s nice to have a friend: this folk-y vibe? works? is thisfolk? sorry if im being dumb. but it has a lonely vibe, it’s kind of really sadin a way, but it’s lovely at the same time.
fave lyrics:“something gave you the nerve / to touchmy hand”
daylight: a song about letting go and forgiving herselffor her past mistakes and learning to focus on the good parts of her life, morespecifically her lover. like new year’s eve was to reputation, this is a nicesong to wrap this album.
fave lyrics:“you are what you love”

3 basic mindsets that ensure keto diet success
I don't know many diets you’ve been through, but let me tell you, if you do not have the proper mindset, likelihood is that you are not getting to succeed. In fact, if you are like most of the people, your experience will fit a really familiar pattern. First, you’re all excited about the diet and surely, you follow the directions very closely.
Thanks to your careful dietary guidelines, and your eager compliance, you begin losing tons of pounds. So far so good, right? This keeps up for maybe a few more days or even a few more weeks. But sooner or later, the pounds start coming back.
Next, things go from bad to worse. You start gaining more weight than when you began your diet. Isn’t the whole point of going on a diet to lose weight? Sadly, most diets are gateways, believe it or not, to feature weight; mention a frustrating situation.
The reason why people go through this all too familiar tragic pattern is because they don't have the right mindset. It doesn't matter whether you're trying to adopt the keto diet, the paleo diet, the Atkins diet, the Ornish, or the other loss program, without the proper mindset, you are playing the game to lose.
At the very least, you ought to adopt three basic mindsets which will ensure keto diet success.
 Mindset #1
Assume that you can do it
It’s very easy to get excited about the testimonials included in many diet books. You look at the before-and-after pictures and you and you get all pumped up. Please understand that a lot of those pictures are exaggerated. In fact, tons of books that are very shady even use photoshopped pictures.
I know it’s shocking. I know that it's hard to believe that people would actually do that, but they do. So a little bit of skepticism goes a long way. Still, don't just focus on the fact that the diet can work for other people. Instead, wrap your mind around the possibility that the diet can actually work for you.
That's right, you personally, individually. If you can't understand that, and if you can’t accept the likelihood of a certain weight-loss program waiting for you, then you’re making things much harder on yourself. It's like trying to play basketball and trying to put the ball through the hoop.
If in the back of your head you're saying to yourself, “Other people can shoot really well, but not me," what do you think will happen? You're shooting accuracy will go down. You’re sabotaging yourself. You're making things unnecessarily harder on yourself.
This is why it's really important to assume that you can achieve success with the keto diet. Not the case study pictures, not the people giving testimonials, we are talking about you. If you can't make this assumption, then it's going to be a rough road ahead for you.
Mindset #2
Begin with what you have
One common reason why people fail with diets is that they think that they have to transform into a completely different person. Alternatively, they believe that their circumstances or their situations need to change so dramatically so as to ensure success.
When people think along these lines, they’re basically just giving themselves excuses for either not trying, or for expecting bad results. Believe me, I can understand why people do this. If you've got been disappointed by diet after diet, it's extremely easy to become jaded.
In fact, in many cases, it's very easy to expect failure. After all, you've gone through the familiar process of initially losing weight, and then getting it all back. It becomes an old story, and it's only a matter of time until your heart gets broken again.
This is why you think that you should change everything that you can possibly change, to lay the groundwork for ultimate success. Again, you're making things unnecessarily harder on yourself. It doesn't have to be like this. You don't have to move heaven and earth to create optimal conditions.
You know why? Conditions are never perfect. There will never be a time when your circumstances will be just right for you to ensure success. You're going to have to take that risk. You're going to have to begin with what you have.
It doesn't matter what discipline level you have. It doesn’t matter what else is going on in your life. It doesn't matter whether you feel good about yourself. All that matters is that you are ready, willing, and able to begin with what you have and assume that this will work for you.
Mindset #3
Enjoy your food according to rules you choose
Another key “pillar” for keto diet success involves the difficulty of control. A lot of people fail with diets because they think that they are putting some sort of dietary straitjacket on themselves. For instance, they do not normally sort of a certain taste, but since they’re switching over to a replacement diet, they force themselves to love a particular range of flavors.
Let me tell you, it's only a matter of time until your old self rears its ugly head. It's only a matter of time until you go back to how you normally eat. This is a very frustrating situation. It’s as if you are doing really well, and you're making all these changes, and all of a sudden your old self pulls you back. You end up where you began.
This is why it's really important to focus on enjoying your food. This is not an ordeal. This is not some sort of punishment. This is not some sort of situation where you feel that you are denying yourself. Instead, the keto diet should be a celebration of taste. It all really boils right down to enjoying your food consistent with keto rules.
You have to first choose the keto rules. You have to first prefer to continue the diet, then you decide on supported your existing tastes. There's no need to become somebody else. There's no need to change your taste buds. There's no need to go through any of that. Instead, allow yourself to enjoy the flavor range that you simply are already enjoying.
Now here's the thing, even if you have a sweet tooth, you're going to have to minimize that. That’s the sole change, except for everything else, whether you wish sour foods, salty foods, or definitely fatty foods, you ought to be fine. But as long as you manage your appetite, you ought to be okay.
Keep atop the mindsets above if you would like to achieve success with the keto diet. I'm not going to lie to you and say that you can adopt these mindsets overnight. After all, the way you see things, and the way you expect things to play out, have been with you for a long time. You've grown accustomed to thinking about food a certain way.
But if you modify your mindset consistent with the three key pillars above, adopting the keto diet will become easier, and it's more likely to stay.
