spoti: the kingdom by thaiboy digital ft bladee i only checked out thaiboy's back 2 life this january, didnt feel too remarkable as whole on the first listenthru and i havent ended up listening more to see if my opinion's changed :') but this one off it is earcandy to me

lfm: dibiyu by evanora unlimited ft ecco2k it's 2nd on my spotify one lol, and also earcandy to me. ive not yet listened to any other evanora/marjorie. Yet.

spoti: borjormi spring by rezzett my spotify usage is really patchy so like 4 albums ended up near-entirely into the top100, mostly cos of me having listened to them via spotify enough - meant like this by rezzett was one of em, took some whirls to grow on me but grow on me it did

lfm: mushroom abolitionist by vegyn vegyn ended up being #1 on my spoti wrapped but #2 on my lastfm trailing behind oli xl...a friend made me wanna check out vegyn properly and i rly ended up enjoying, to the point where i went and saw him live last month, was very nice

in another instalment of sticking oli xl thru foobar2000's effects dsp component stuff, a longer while back i also slowed down and opportunely echoed the vocal part of cartoon smile over itself in a rly sweet way... full oli cocoon mode.

slowed down by around 50%, echo volume and feedback % were both quite high, also notch filter somewhere in the 100hz realm so the low freqs wouldnt become overbearing

went on a goofy condensed music event catching workbreak trip.... 3 events in 3 days and 3 meager hours of sleep after each of them but it was very worth it hahaha

saw vegyn live in london on thurs, oli xl dj in berlin on fri (didnt know i would be feistily catching it UNTIL WEDNESDAY when he + the venue announced it), and club zero event with some bunch of ppl dj+live including ecco2k dj in helsinki on saturday... was really cool

enjoy some selection of pics i guess just cos i feel like it!

ended up losing the frog in berlin but it's ok cos i found leibniz kunterbunt cookies...

rogue intruder soul enhancer reference at the hostel...Just Kidding. pigbaby set was neato, vegyn's was really sick.

thought to myself how kwia's light-up wall installation looks like an eye, cos it lights up mostly from the centre and the non-lit-up very centre resembles a pupil this way. and oli previewed some tunes off his upcoming album during his allnight set, and the album's named lick the lens. and oli's dj-ed at that venue kind of plenty by now. kind of funny!

had only one sweet ginger tea, while waiting for oli to appear. should've got another during, would've been really cozy. he tucked the few lick the lens tunes among other songs, was like a silly little guessing game, but i got good feeling from the tunes :')

it's funny, i didnt see ecco a lick cos i was too deep in the crowd and with friends but can't get everything i want cos i did get a 5hour oli xl set hahaha; ecco played fifths by ingrate and bby by overmono back to back which made me happy lol but overall it was just sorta fun; got to chill with friends at the event tho (as implied) which makes me rly happy

maybe it's good i didn't have the reflexes to request cartoon smile from oli right after he wound down his set - it resonates with me deep (it's become like an onion of cute moments/times of connection within my heart to me), i teared up over cartoon smile like 3 times between the helsinki event and getting home, no idea what effect it would've had on me at kwia on 3 hours of sleep with oli himself nearby!

oh also its rlly funny cos i ended up getting a cheeseburger meal from hesburger, mcdonalds and burger king on this same trip... (respectively riga railway station, in london post-vegyn near the venue with the friend i was with, and on the ferry home)

3: A song that reminds you of summertime

this tune might b one of the peak summertime tunes for me, at least the past few years. just has this refreshment-in-sunny-sweltering-weather type mood to it (maybe even while not considering the mouth-sounds percussion going on lmfao, such kinds of moist asf mouth sounds usually bother me haha but here they work super fucking well... but, i mean, such a swelterin but refreshing-breezy tune even besides that)

let me see what typa shilling mood i am in (besides þe ole sneek keeps going off about (fixation here) state lmfao).......man idk let me think, i get bit shy when it comes to something I Think Literal Everyone Should Listen To, but, right now i feel like showing uuuuhhh-

this wee tune, think it was made specially for the 2014 estonian song festival/celebration/whatever (laulupidu it's called in estonian, recurs every 5 years, sometime in summer), i have a weakness for some kinds of choral typa stuff tbh

went to high school round the time, and the school's choir would sing some songs at some of the school's internal events, including this one at the time (2013/14 school year preceding the thing) in preparation for the song fest, brought me lowkey to tears even then, i don't know how i'd've been if i'd been at the actual big thing lmao (for xtra context, there were apparently 33k ppl singing on the stage that yr, from like 1k different collectives/choirs/things crazy)

rly pretty sound, quite cute. there's a translation of the words somewhere in the comments, worth a gander (but, the chorus basically translates to, as per the comment cos im lazy, "do you still feel how the highest paths in heaven are open to us / when we come together / when we find the chance / let's leave the troubles and sing", cute stuff)

feel like ecco was onto something in pt 5 of 5 star crest (4 vattenrum) w the what may presumably be the 'i love you (to eat, to kiss, to love) / i love you (to eat, to love, to kiss) / i love you (to eat, to kiss, to love)' bit, or at least i hear the parenthetical bits as that; i keep thinking about moments w friends + food sometimes now (and also other little appreciative gestures). and being full of love about that

like..for instance...a few of my fonder memories of my trips abroad being about a friend taking me to a favourite foodplace of theirs or otherwise offering food, there's something really caring about such gestures

and something simple but beautiful about the words n delivery too (kind of wish the official lyrics had all of that part instead of just the iloveyous but maybe they want it to be more up for interpretation...)

tho pt 5 of 5 star crest had me so full of love before i entirely even understood what ecco was saying in it or before i even realized that hes saying i love you throughout it... it has a rly cozy comforting loving vibe to it even like that, legit made me cry every time across the first couple or so days of crest being out, once the aforementioned vibe really clicked for me on like 2nd listen or so

(was out on a sunny 8am walk for my first couple of listens thru crest, first time around i just took in the general vibes but the 2nd time across 5 star crest i was sitting in some park, and i realized right at the end of 4th part that bladee was saying 'death is beautiful' thruout that part which made me straightup tear up ngl (considering that the song's a tribute to a friend of theirs), which i guess made 5th part hit different too)

cartoon smile by oli xl (1:00-1:30 part my beloved, feels like a warm hug sometimes the litl vox)

(tangential: i got to behold oli dj-ing irl like 1.5 weeks ago...! amongst a mediumkey immense lineup. in wholeass london. was rly worth it to briefly fly there from estonia for that (and to unrelatedly meet a couple friends beforehand also)..... bestowed some paper cranes to the friends i saw and to most of the lineup. including a special crane to oli, with a lil hat/helmet akin to the one on cover n visualizerthings of go oli go single. And He Really Loved It he was like no waaayyy when he noticed the lil detail. this is gonna live in my head rentfree a good while)

(tangential of tangential: funniest part is how the event cropped up when i'd found myself in the midst of some fixation type thing on his music. literally been listening at least a little every day the past 1.5 months (the lad barely having 2 hrs' worth of his own music out Has Not Deterred Me) and my lastfm is testament to it... and two separate instances of me listening to all 5 of his rinse fm mixes p much in a row. stupid little spicy brain)
