I have to say I loved a lot of your Yandere Moonknight stories and couldn’t help but wonder how a Yandere would react to someone who doesn’t want to leave and one who’s happy to stay. So if I’m being honest this was more for me, but I loved how it turned out. I hope you enjoy it as much as I loved your stories

Leaving Isn't an Option

It's not so bad, being stuck here.

And 'stuck' is the right word.

I'm not really trapped, per say, just... encouraged to stay put.

Which is easy, it's not like I did anything else before. Go to work, pay the bills, cook, repeat.

Life was monotonous and very, very lonely.

I'm not sure when, where or even how I ended up in the world of Moon Knight. Or even the Marvel Universe. I didn't really get out much, didn't really have a reason to.

Just a boring and lonely existence.

Maybe it was wishing something would happen.

Maybe it was staring at the moon and quoting, "Second Star to the right and Straight on till Morning." Never really knowing if the star was my right or the moon's right because it's never been specified.

But something happened.

Something shifted.

I was no longer there, but here.

Which I understand makes absolutely no sense, but it happened without my knowledge and my days went on like normal.

I've never watched the news, it always felt misleading.

Never bothered with facebook, FarmVille had long since become boarding and redundant. Who waits 4 hours of real life time for one patch of strawberries to grow?

I wasnt going to spend five dollars on speed enhancers.

Never really called my parents, they finally got the kids out of their house? Why would they want to see me?

I've only ever talked to my fellow fan fiction writers and readers on Discord, but we all were focused on our mutual love for Undertale. So not really friend friends, but also not not friends.

Weird, believe me I know.

So absolutely no real reason to leave except for food and the extremely rare occasion for eating out.

I had no real reason to even suspect being on someone's radar.

I had never been and forever assumed I would never be.

Friends and acquaintances? Easy.

Family? Yeah, well you either have them or you don't.

Lovers? What's that? Can you eat it? ...Ew, on second thought don't answer that. Please.

So really, my life wasn't't anything special.

Or shouldn't have been anything special.

My life changed when I had decided I didn't want to cook that day. So I went to a Burger King next to a Starbucks. Simple.

Fill up on the fries and drink, have a burger for breakfast, all for a debatable price of 10 dollars.

Again nothing special.

A sit-down would be expensive and would remind me just how alone I was.

I guess I was pretty predictable, always going to the same places to eat or shop, but I never really noticed.

Never really cared.

Not until he, well I should really say 'they' , pointed it out. And they never pointed it out until they made sure I could never leave, which again I don't really mind.

I met them, him when I walked out the door accidentally spilling iced coke all over the poor guy.

Apologizing profusely, I had offered to buy him lunch as an apology, its not like I could buy the guy a new shirt.

I'm somewhat surprised I didn't recognize him to begin with, sure he looked familiar and his name was Steven, but what really should have sold it was the fact that Steven with a 'V' was Vegan.

Though I was more surprised that Burger King had vegan options, the impossible burger? Really?

I guess its in the name. Still, shocking, both the burger and my own stupidity.

But I liked him.

He was nice, well muscled, dark hair (that was my weakness, those cheating bastards) and polite.

Honestly, what wasn't there to love? We talked. A lot.

I was pretty thrilled when he shyly asked for my number. I thought 'Why not? It'd be nice to have a friend again.' And we traded phones, I never noticed him activate the tracking part of the phone.

I probably shouldn't have been so lazy and trusting (Jake has lectured me a lot on that, really that sweet worry wart) handing Steven my phone, in my defense I've never had to worry about that.

Steven once told me he finally understood why Marc and Jake had wanted to protect his innocence once they had met me.

Others probably would have been offended, me? I was honored and kissed him.

It was... nice, having someone to talk to, someone to text.

Someone I could just be me.

Steven would send these really cute or funny history bits, mostly Egyptian, sometimes complaining that gods can be annoyingly demanding.

Again, I should have noticed, but really would you notice? Or even care too? We all complain about god.

Looking back, I feel like my past self was one of those side characters on Doctor Who that never noticed aliens or the blue police box.

To be fair, its easier to notice things when they don't happen to you. Still makes me feel stupid though.

I never really found it odd that we kept meeting up when ever I was out shopping, passing it off as coincidence time and time again.

Sure there were times I felt someone watching, but every time there was no one following me.

Sure there was a feeling or two that made me glance over my shoulder a few times just to check, but then Steven would show up and it would stop.

Which was extremely relieving, having Steven by my side. After a while it turned stressful without Steven there to shop with. I tried not to, but calling him and asking if he'd like to shop together made the day that much better, that much less lonely.

It was on one such day, after feeling a piercing stare and finding nothing, that I ended up laying my head on his shoulder with a sigh of relief.

Of course I removed it with a shit load of apologies. But to my utter amazement, after he got over his shock, he just smiled and gently placed my head back on his shoulder.

"Are you sure?" I asked, again still a bit worried.

His smile was so gentle, so sweet, so warm, "Of course, luv." And placed his arm around my shoulder. Heaven could never have such forbidden fruit.

I, gladly, soaked up as much as I could.

Steven could be the nectar of the gods with his sweetness, he laughed quite happily when I told him that once, well it was a mumble, but still... true.

We didn't just shop together, I rather enjoyed inviting him over so he could teach me some vegan recipes.

Being with Steven made life, easier.

It was easier to breathe, to enjoy breathing again. I wasn't just moving through the motions of life, I was Living again.

I could actually look forward to tomorrow.

And when tomorrow came, Steven asked if I wanted to be his girlfriend.

I was flummoxed.

Me? Steven wanted me?

I didn't know it but Jake was rather close to fronting and yelling at me for daring to hurt sweet Steven, when I hadn't answered soon enough.

Tears had slowly fallen from my eyes and Steven nearly went into a panic seemingly about to apologize when I softly asked, "Me? Are you sure?"

It was the first time anyone had ever asked. Had ever looked at me.

His smile could have melted gold, easily shattering my shields, ones I never knew had surrounding my heart.

It burned, but somehow in a good way, still it was too much and I looked away.

He had to cup my cheeks in his hands, getting me to look at him. His thumb wiping away a stray tear, "I would love that, luv. Would you be willing to be mine?"

Choking back a sob, "No one... no one ever... ever... no one's ever wanted me."

I couldn't help leaning into his gentle touch, missing the frown that formed, but he quickly wiped it away from their face, "Not like that anyway. I've...I've had a few crushes, but nothing ever..."

I couldn't help looking into his eyes, practically begging for this to not be a dream, searching for even a hint of a lie.

I searched his face, soft and gentle, "Are...are you sure you want me?"

"Oh, baby girl of course we want you."

I wailed clutching him tighter as he leaned me on to his shoulder, as he shushed me rocking me back and forth, " I've got you, baby girl. Shhhh. We've got you. Shhh" years of pain, anguish, want flowed into those tears. "Let it out, mi amor. Let it all go."

I didn't leave his arms that night, or even that weekend. We refused to let go of each other. Sometimes the grips were tighter, or stronger but all it felt like was safety and home. I didn't want them to let go.

I was wanted.

I was happy for the first time in forever.

It nearly tore me apart watching them walk away, but I did have work in the morning.

Work had never been such a drag until then.

It physically hurt to be away from Steven, so I did the one thing I could think of. I went to the hardware store after work.

As much as it hurt not to ask Steven to come I wanted it to be a surprise, but like always I felt those eyes boring into me. It made me want to call Steven, but... but picturing his, hopefully, happy face? I could deal with the discomfort.

The feeling didn't stop, at least I think it didn't, I'm not sure when it did but the older clerk behind the counter had smiled when she saw my fidgeting, "Ah, someone special?"

I could only blush violently and nod my head nervously. Her smile widened, "What a lucky man." She reached behind the counter, and started running the machine.

"Well, ...he's my, my first... so..." my nerves were eating me alive, but it'd be worth it.

"Really?" She looked surprised as the lady looked me up and down, "When I'm glad. You seem like a sweet young lady." The clerk chittered on.

It was nearly ten minutes of constant chattering as the clerk milked me for information.

I didn't really want to brag, didn't want to jinx it, but it felt good to share.

It felt good to smile.

The clerk watched on with a warm smile of encouragement as I called my boyfriend, biting my bottom lip as she handed it over and I placed the small box into my pocket.

" 'Ello?"

Swallowing nervously, "Steven?'

"Luv?" He sounded a bit worried.

"Yeah, ah hi. I was wondering..." I couldn't stop tapping my fingers on my leg just to use some of my extra energy. Steven, sweet, sweet Steven just patiently hummed, "if you wouldn't mind coming over? Please."

Not even noticing the man walking away on the phone two isles down.

"Sure I wouldn't mind luv."

"Great" I squeaked before quickly repeating it in a more normal voice, " See you in a few"

"See you in a few, luv."

Letting out a large breath, I turned and thanked the clerk as I handed over the money with a smile on my face, "Thank you."

"No thank you for making this old lady's day. I wish you luck."

I couldn't hold back my chuckle, "And I wish you a good week of good customers."

That made her laugh as she handed me change, "Ah, I see, another fellow retailer?"

"Yeah, first few years of college were horrible."

"Say no more." She said with a smile on her face.

I returned it, "Again, thank you."

"It's no trouble, now go on, shoo!" She waved her hands, "you've got a boy to gift. Shoo!"

I laughed on my way out, feeling happy and hopeful.

A great day indeed.

It turned into an even better day when Steven opened the box to reveal my new extra house key.

I didn't see the kiss coming, "It's absolutely beautiful, baby girl."

Completely shocked, missing how his accent had dropped as I touched my lips a deep blush forming. "What? Baby girl, what is it?"

Looking up, I blushed deeper catching a glance of his lips before staring into those deep eyes, they were the same, yet they somehow held more.

"That- that was my first..." I squeaked.

"Oh, oh!" I never noticed as he held me closer, leading me into a hug as Steven glared daggers at the reflection.

(Jake was so proud, both at Marc's kiss and Stevens glare. His boys were growing a backbone!).

"I'm so sorry, luv!"

I couldn't help hugging him back, squeezing a bit before asking, "Could, could we... again?"

This made him smile as he leaned back and looked into my eyes with his warm, ice melting ones, "Sure."

The second one was warm and comforting, the third became ruff and deep and I couldn't help loving all of them, I felt wanted, I felt loved again.

This man was slowly becoming my entire world.

And everyday he would come over after work.

Everyday he would kiss me at least three times, each with there own flare, each with their own intensity and still I greedily accepted each and every one.

They, well Steven had been dating her for months, with Jake and Marc coming out on occasion. She never seemed to notice or if she did she brushed it off.

They loved her, they really did, but sometimes he wished she would notice. Wish she'd ask questions, it'd make it much easier to come clean.

Though Marc seemed to enjoy the lack of in his words, 'unnecessary' questions. Jake bemoaned the fact that she was so oblivious.

This may have started with an order from Khonshu, but it had become an obsession over time.

Layla was a strong woman and Marc had loved her in his own way. Marc's ex was strong alone, could easily, has easily fought confidently, side by side with Marc and Steven, but she and Jake clashed, each just as bull headed as the other, making a relationship a bit difficult with the three.

Plus Jake wasn't happy when Layla had smacked Marc across the face.

Marc had defended her saying he deserved it since he left, but Jake refused to let Layla be alone with Marc or Steven.

Deserved or not, if she did it once she would do it again and Jake refused to leave his boys defenseless.

He knew Marc and Steven wouldn't fight against Layla, Jake however...

So the three were just friends, while Jake only tolerates Layla for his boy's happiness. Sure they were sad at the end of the relationship, but Jake knew they deserved better. It's why he stayed as Khonshu's Avatar (and boy was that a shit show when he had dropped the beans, they forgave him and moved on. He really does love them.)

So when an order came to watch someone who doesn't belong in this world, all three went, each curious in their own way.

They would admit the woman was... ... ...boring?

Normal?

Well, she didn't seem like she was any different, but hey Harrow fell off the deep end why can't she?

So they watched and watched, it was an order, an easy order but an order none the less until Khonshu deemed her to be just another pathetic worm that no longer needed their attention.

They... didn't really stop.

They had noticed her schedule, had memorized it to the point they ended up following it subconsciously.

If anyone was to blame it was entirely the god's fault.

Steven thought she was sweet.

Marc noticed how lonely she felt.

Jake saw.

Saw how she was withering away, how she practically begged for protection.

Jake really liked how she seemed to sense them, liked how she trusted her instincts, weak as they were she still had them.

She was a walking contradiction in some ways.

She kept her head down and avoided people, avoided being seen, but they saw her.

They watched her.

They noticed how she seemed to hide and it flared all of their protective instincts.

Originally it was a way to pass time.

They didn't really need to work for money anymore, they had plenty and Khonshu had them take certain jobs, and if Jake could get some money out of it, then all the better.

Steven never really liked the 'blood' money, but Jake and Marc refuse to let Steven get stuck in retail or with another piece of trash boss again.

(Donna is still lucky to be alive, the two are still waiting for the perfect time. Its not murder if something just 'happens' right?)

But Steven didn't mind watching her, so they compromised.

Watching her for the day, and working with Khonshu at night (they slept when she went to work, no biggie).

At first it wasn't hard to leave for Khonshu's 'trips', but it became harder as time passed on.

Soon returning ended up as their priority and Khonshu could careless so long as the job was done.

Since Marc and Steven wanted the job done just as much to get back, Khonshu didn't really have any complaints, "Apparently even a worm has its uses."

He was dutifully ignored.

They wanted to get to know her, to be apart of her life.

And if she broke their heart? Well, Jake would take care of it.

All three had found something in her that they enjoyed.

For Steven, she was sweet (Hah! Told you guys so!) and so welcoming. She enjoyed listening to him and both genuinely enjoyed the documentaries that Marc and Jake became bored to death with. Even making a game of it at one point when she started explaining why one documentary was wrong, elaborating each point and encouraged him to do the same.

Marc, well Marc loved all the cuddles and how she showed that she cared (for Steven) making food and learning recipies together, always finding a way to touch. And just leaning on them in general.

It helped that she never pried or asked for more information. If she did and he said 'no' she dropped it unlike Layla, and would always remind him she was there if he wanted.

It was refreshing if Marc was being honest.

Jake rather enjoyed how she depended on him (them). She would tense up when they watched her from afar, like he said she had instincts.

He really liked when she started calling them every time she even felt remotely scared. Jake loved how she would lean on them for comfort and melt into their embrace after that first time.

It felt good to be needed in subtle ways.

She would ask for their opinions, but would also ask why instead of just obeying. He liked the little arguments, they were fun and unlike with Layla she didn't get violent when angry, just puffed out her tiny little cheeks, ardilla listada (chipmunk) he had called her and she responded with Qué?

"¿Asi que hablas espanol?"

"en inglés por favor"

He barked out a laugh and he loved the way her eyes sparked as she nailed the accent, all three were rather impressed.

"No."

"Sí"

"No"

"Sí!"

Jake, over all, enjoyed her spunk.

He did however nearly lose it when Steven asked her to be their girlfriend and she didn't respond, she nearly broke their hearts, but then it broke for another reason entirely.

She cried because nobody had wanted her.

And, well, that just sealed the deal, she wouldn't leave them, ever.

They'd never allow it.

If only they could get her home, right now.

...but even a starving predator is patient. So they settle for just holding her tightly in their arms, each taking their own turn, but refusing to let go.

Leaving was one of the hardest and yet the most satisfying things they have ever felt.

And Damn, it hurt to leave, but the way she refused to let them out of her sight, the way they could feel her eyes on them?

They had never walked so slow before, never looked back to her window so much. It was amazing to know she didn't want them to leave as much as they didn't want to leave.

So imagine their rage when she was late returning home from work.

Oh, they wouldn't have been worried (they were) since they followed her phone to the hardware store.

If she was mugged it'd be the last thing the asshole would ever know.

When it turned out she was the one to make a side trip, Oh they were pissed.

They loved her, but she should have, no needed to be home with them, she shouldn't have left! Job or no.

Jake wondered if it was too soon to dish out a bit of punishment. They really didn't like how the lady looked at their girl.

Jake did, however, settle a bit when he saw how she looked around and fingered her phone, the other two noticed as well and calmed down, just a bit.

It helped to know she was still thinking of them, still she needed to be at home.

They chose an isle that was close enough to hear them, but still had the perfect view of their girl. Tense shoulders relaxed as their discussion went on.

So imagine their surprise when they answered the call. When Steven met them and was handed a personal gift.

She was definitely forgiven.

And in a way, it allowed each of them to come out. To show themselves to her.

She eagerly accepted their affection and they couldn't be more thrilled.

She was their innocent bean.

I forget sometimes how intentionally well my Internet experience is curated. How I stumbled onto a pile of little things that together make my life on the Internet as nice as it was in the early 2000s.

Then I hop onto my mom's computer to help her for just a little bit and I hiss and recoil at all the ads there are. She doesn't complain because she is still mostly just playing Farmville like it's still popular.

I fear the day I'm going to need to get a new computer because, I honestly don't know how the hell I'm going to find all the extensions and little codes that make my Internet browsing so simple and easy.

"It's Now or Never"

After I got home. I was surprised to see my parents waiting for me outside the gate mansion, with smiles on their faces.

I haven't seen them this happy since we left Farmville.

"Bea, Anak. I'm so proud of you." My mom came rushing to me giving me a crushing hug. While my dad followed after.

"I heard from Sebastien, that you graduated as Summa Cum Laude. Congratulations! Sweetie. I'm proud of you." Am I hearing things or is this some kind of dream? My father whom I haven't spoken to in nearly two years came to congratulate me on the day of my graduation.

When my dear Aunt Bella passed away. Dad was devastated about losing his only twin sister. They were inseparable, even when he got married. Their relationship as siblings remained stronger than ever. Now that she was gone. My Dad immediately took over my aunt's company, with the help of my mom to continue her legacy.

Both of my parents graduated with a business degree in the same institution in Europe where they met and fell in love. When I was born they decided to migrate to the U.S and start a new life. Soon, my aunt followed to expand her business and help my family with the farm.

Growing up my aunt was pretty much involved with my life. She would frequently visit us whenever she wanted. She never got married nor have any kids. Instead, she spends her time showering me with lavish gifts on my birthday, telling me tales about her and dad as kids, and strangely hires a very strict private tutor to teach me about proper etiquette and manners for young ladies. I was even taught how to do martial arts, just in case, I got in a bad situation. Naturally, I passed with flying colors, even if I hated taking those lessons I did it for my aunt. After everything she's done to help me and my family, it's the least I could do.

Besides it's not like taking those lessons were in vain. It made me learn how to adapt and be smart around my surroundings, especially when I entered Belvoire University. Dealing with snobby, mean rich kids was a total pain in the ass. I had to fight and defend myself just so I could be on top. Once I was declared the new Queen B of Belvoire (More like the new student body president). I made sure to be fair with everyone, including the nerds and social outcasts.

Yeesh! That didn't sound right. I was once like them too. Maybe hanging out with the rich kids has been rubbing me off lately.

I only had one year to change things at Belvoir, since a certain she-devil made everyone grovel at her feet like some kind of goddess and messed up their lives if they dare to oppose her. And here I thought after dethroning Poppy from her position things would get easier for me, but nope another plastic poser...I mean new enemy has popped up out of nowhere to seek revenge against Poppy and take the throne for herself.

The fake-ginger butchered her face with plastic surgery and faked her whole identity to destroy Poppy and unexpectedly me for her so called-revenge. I'll admit she's good at what she does but I was better. I played her own game against her by exposing her minions, her schemes, and turning her hacker into my ally. In the end, Persy's family opted to put her in therapy after her psychotic outburst at the Oculus Ball. Since then, her therapist and psychiatrist have deemed her "unstable" for the time being.

I kind of feel sorry for her.

My celebration was held at home. Nothing too fancy, just a simple family dinner with my parents. We've talked for hours, trying to make up for lost time. I discovered that my aunt's manufacturing company was thriving throughout the agribusiness community. In turn, I told them about the majority of my time at Belvoire, excluding all of my troubles and late-night rendezvous.

"Is that all?" My father looked me straight in the eye. I gulped looking sideways.

"Yes, sir no trouble or anything." I lied. He pinches the bridge of his nose and sighed.

"Bea, I know we haven't been the best parents lately, but we've always kept tabs on you"

My jaw dropped. What? But How? He must have seen my reaction.

"I have my ways, sweetie. Don't look so shocked." I felt heavier when my mom puts her hand around my shoulder.

"Beatrice Gomez Hughes." She called my full name with her sweet Filipino accent, indicating I'd done something wrong. My heart was beating fast and my head was beading with sweat. This woman was scarier than my father.

"I've heard you slept with one of your professors, not to mention hooking up with your other schoolmates; what if you got STD? And What is the T? Some kind of internet thing you used for clouts in social media?" Okay, she wasn't wrong there, her mother's instincts are spot on.

My mother breathe deeply, she looked guilty for some reason while giving me a stern look.

She wasn't done talking yet.

"And what's with you getting into fights with other people? You almost got expelled. If I'd known earlier I would've pulled you out of that school and transferred you to another university." I stayed silent as I nodded to all my mother's nagging.

"Relax mom, I made sure to use protection. For The T thing, it's simply a blog site for students to stay updated on the latest news and drama around campus. As for the fighting, I only did it to defend myself from bullies, they got what they deserved."Talking about my sex life with my parents was weird enough. Now opening up my past in Belvoir makes me want to sit up and leave the dining table. My father saw my discomfort and tried to console my mother.

"Stella, I think she's had enough. I, myself am dissatisfied with some of her recent activities, but she did well for herself. Remember where here to celebrate our daughter's graduation. She graduated Suma Cum Laude in her batch. Isn't that something to be proud of?"

My father gently massaged my mother's shoulder to ease her up. She sighed and breathe deeply.

"That's the problem with you Beau, you're too lenient with her." I gave my father a smile thanking him for rescuing me from mom's never-ending nagging.

"Don't think you're off the hook yet young lady. As punishment, you're prohibited to use the internet for a month." My jaw dropped.

Punishment? What am I four? And no internet for a month!? Hell no! How will I contact Poppy at this point that girl must be losing her marbles right now.

"Mom! One month is too much. I need a new phone and the internet to talk to a girl. It's an emergency."

"Not my problem. What happened to your phone?"

"I dropped it along the way, that's why I need a new one. Please this is important"

"That's perfect.No phone and internet for the whole month."

"Mom, you don't get it this is important to me." She eyed me with a questioning look on her face.

"How so?"

"Look I confessed and kissed a girl in front of everyone, and when you guys called I packed my things and leave immediately without saying goodbye to her," I explained, hoping she would reconsider my punishment.

"Alright, I'll lessen your sentence for only two weeks. Take it or leave it."

"Two weeks, but Mo--------" My mother glared at me.

"Fine two weeks then" I slumped down the chair in defeat.

"Now back to our topic. I believe this is the time to tell her Beau. She's old enough to know what's going on."

The atmosphere suddenly got heavier and serious than before.

"Bea, sweetie. There's something you need to know...about our family.

Sebastien was right. This was the biggest surprise that would change my life forever.

2 weeks later...

"Yes, Daddy I'm all set...Yes, everything is in check...Don't worry too much I've got everything under control...I promise I won't let you down...Okay... Bye, I love you." Poppy said as she hung her phone and tossed it in her queen-size bed, ever since graduation. She decided to move out of her parent's mansion and lived in a high-end apartment near her parent's working place.

Just about months ago, her father's company was on the verge of bankruptcy, her family struggled to pay their debts and Poppy feared she would no longer live the life she was used to, what she feared most was losing her main goal and that is to prove to her family, especially her father (more like step-father) that she was worthy of living up to the Min-Sinclair name.

She did everything she could to be perfect, to be everything she was expected to be as the heiress of both her family's company.

Flashback

When she was young she heard her parents fighting in the dining room, her mother solemnly cried while her father was shouting furiously at her, showing her a piece of paper.

"She's not mine, is she?"

"Piers, I can explain please calm down. Poppy will wake up."

"I DON'T GIVE A DAMN ANNA GIVE ME ONE REASON WHY I SHOULDN'T KICK YOU OUT RIGHT NOW!!" Her "father" slammed his hand on the table, gnashing in anger. Little Poppy never heard her father scream like that before. Usually, he would smile, bring her gifts, and act as the doting father he was.

"For Pete's sake Piers you're sterile. We've been trying to get pregnant for years. The doctors told me I wasn't the one with fertility issues, it's you." Hearing this enraged Piers, he grabbed the wine glass he was drinking and smashed it against the wall.

"HOW DARE YOU? AFTER EVERYTHING I'VE DONE FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY! YOU LIED TO ME! YOU CHEATED ON ME WITH A FUCKING NOBODY!"

"DON'T YOU TALK ABOUT ART LIKE THAT! AND DON'T YOU DARE YELL AT ME LIKE YOU DID NOTHING WRONG! I SAW YOU SLEEPING WITH ANOTHER MAN PIERS, A MAN! YOU'VE BEEN GAY THIS WHOLE TIME SINCE THE START OF OUR MARRIAGE! HOW WILL YOUR FAMILY REACT WHEN THEY LEARNED THAT THE GREAT PIERS SINCLAIR IS HOMOSEXUAL?"

This made Piers shut up.

Little Poppy gasped, as she listen to her parent's dispute.

".... POPPY NEEDS HER REAL FATHER, NOT YOU!" It broke Poppy's heart to know that Piers wasn't her real dad. She closed her eyes, desperately praying that this was all a nightmare, but it wasn't. She slowly opened her eyes and saw her "father" raise his hand ready to hit her mother, and that was when Poppy had, had enough.

".....You little-" Piers was about to slap Anna when-

"DADDY STOP IT!" When Piers noticed Poppy in front of him, he stopped.

"Please, Daddy stop. I don't want to see you and Mommy fight anymore." She said as she tried to wipe her tears away. Piers look ashamed and guilty for letting his anger get the best of him, he assumed Poppy heard everything and kneeled to her level.

"I'm sorry you had to see that, honey, whatever you heard from me and your mother means nothing. You're still my daughter. You're still a Min-Sinclair." He reassured her as he hugged her tightly and gently stroked his little girl's hair.

Anna silently cried. She felt ashamed for letting her daughter see them like this. She went to her family's side and apologized.

Since that day the family of three went into counseling and therapy to fix their relationship, and it worked for the most part. Piers and Anna reconciled and act as if nothing happened, and Poppy was relieved to have her family back. Unfortunately, things didn't go as planned as Poppy hoped they would.

Years later, Piers rose to become one of America's most prominent businessmen. He prioritized his work over his family. He constantly pushes Poppy to do well in school, never associate with commoners, unless necessary, always be at top of the social hierarchy, and, most importantly, never tarnish the Min-Sinclair name.

Poppy took this by heart and followed her father's orders to be the 'perfect' daughter she was. Eventually, it took a toll on her mental health. She felt drained from her father's demands and expectations. He was more concerned with his reputation and social status rather than her well-being.

She decided to find her biological father since Piers wasn't acting like the father he was years ago. All the counseling and therapies they went through were wasted. She tried to convince Piers to return to counseling but he dismissed her, thinking it was a waste of time and money.

She sneaked into her father's office to get all the information she needs, regarding her biological father, when she finally did. She planned a trip to New Jersey to meet him, it didn't take too long before her parents believed her lies. So, she set on her journey to meet Art Nakumara.

When she arrived at her location, she was filled with apprehension and dread. She would meet the man she had wanted to see for years. So, why was she hesitating? After all the work she'd been through just to get here.

Poppy breathe deeply and was determined to introduce herself, she wanted to see his reaction if she wanted her or even think about her, she needed answers.

A handsome Japanese man in his late thirties stumbled upon a young girl who claims to be his daughter. He was confused at first, but he let the girl explain by showing him pictures, and documents to prove she was his. Once he was convinced he welcomed his daughter into his life.

Poppy was happy coming to New Jersey. She had a great time spending and getting to know her real father. He was more open-minded, kinder, and gentle than Piers. The next few days came to a blur when she had to go home, but before she left Piers gave her all his contact information, just in case something happens, and a necklace to remember him by. The father-daughter had a tearful goodbye and promise to stay in touch.

Once Poppy got home, her parents were waiting for her outside their home with disappointment and anger in their eyes, especially Piers. They found out that Poppy had lied to them and went to see her biological father in New Jersey. How did they know? Before Poppy would leave home, Piers hired a secret bodyguard to look after her. And of course, the bodyguard told Piers what Poppy was up to.

The family of three had a heated argument about this, Piers scolding Poppy and threatening to disown her if she ever sees him again, and Anna stayed silent, disappointed at Poppy for not telling them.

Haven't they fixed this problem years ago? Piers thought but he was unaware of Poppy's feelings. Poppy cried and promised her parents to never do something like that again. As punishment Poppy was grounded for months and wasn't allowed to be alone, without someone supervising her.

Poppy's punishment was lifted, and she was free to roam around New York. However, she was still restricted from leaving the city without her parent's consent, just to ensure she doesn't pull another stunt as she did months ago, but that didn't stop her from writing to her biological father, via email and letters. Thank God, her parents were horrible at technology.

Present

It had only been a week since Poppy started working under her parent's tutelage, her parents showed her how things were done in their company. Mostly, it was how to deal with employees, wealthy business partners, clients, and possible investors. In just days she was accustomed to working at her parent's company, she did an incredible job managing the place. However, that wasn't the biggest challenge she had to face. Piers assigned her to take the lead in presenting their company to partner with one of the best directors in Hollywood for an upcoming film.

The meeting was a big success Poppy did her presentation flawlessly and convinced the director to work with them. She felt guilty all of a sudden, Piers doesn't have a clue that Poppy is contacting her biological father.

Piers was giving her the chance to show what she was capable of, and she exceeded beyond expectations. He was finally proud of her, she waited for this moment to come, and that's all she ever wanted, but the guilt is weighing her down.

Poppy flopped down in her queen-size bed, groaning in frustration, during these times she would text a certain brunette to come over to her dorm, for some important "matters". And in no time a tall girl would climb to her back window to make her feel better.

Whenever she was around Poppy always complained about her problems, she was always there to listen and sympathize with her, after they were done talking, they would end up in bed, clothes off, touching and kissing, fighting for dominance, due to her small stature she was always the bottom of their unique relationship, and surprisingly she didn't complain.

It became a routine for them, outside campus they were at each other's throats, inside her dorm they were enemies with benefits. That's how things were between them, nothing more than a fling, but deep down Poppy knew she wanted more.

Unfortunately, she was in denial of her feelings. Besides, Farmsville has reputation for being the school's idol/player, she's loved by students and faculties alike, and to be honest, who could blame them.

She was beautiful inside and out. She's the school's savior from her reign of tyranny, and she was always there helping people without expecting anything in return. She was selfless, kind, patient, diligent, and intelligent, she was like that to most people. However, she can be two-faced, depending on the situation she's in, and she's not afraid to play dirty if it meant protecting those she cared about.

For the past two years, she made her life a living hell to the point where she stoop so low to ruin her, despite her many attempts to bring Farmsville down she would always fight back and win in the end. However, she wasn't as cruel as her, when Farmsville learned her family's dirty secret she kept her mouth shut for her sake,

When she betrayed her, and hurt her, she would get revenge sure, but she wasn't evil. She was a goody-two-shoes saint who was the hero of the underdogs, and people love her.

Truth be told, she felt bad and remorseful, they were times she wanted to apologize to the younger girl, but she was too prideful. Farmsville was too forgiving, even if she was the cruelest person in the world, she believes that all people even the bad ones have good inside of them.

Any sane person would despise her by now, but she was different and it " infuriated" her.

Out of all the people she "dated" Farmsville was the only one who can handle her, and satisfy her. For some reason, Farmsvile can read her like an open book, and it feels like she's the only person who knows her and sees her for who she is: A vulnerable, lonely girl who wants to be appreciated.

She knows she wasn't the only person she slept with: There's Zoey, Veronica, Chloe, Luis, heck even her ex- Carter, Professor Kingsley, Plastic Fake Persy, and many more. She heard rumors that she was a "Sex Goddess" in bed.

A theory proved to be true by yours truly.

She felt jealous and angry that she wasn't the only one, wait why would she feel jealous? They weren't dating in the first place, her feelings were nothing to her, she only used her as one of her amusements, she was only a toy to be played with. After she was done with her she would find someone else to be her plaything.

She tried to convince herself many time that that's how she felt about Farmsville, but she knew better, she was confused with her feelings, and she didn't know what to do; it only got worse when Farmsville confessed in their graduation ceremony that "she was the one", Poppy being Poppy, turned red and denied everything, to prove Farmsville point she went down to the podium and kissed Poppy in front of the entire campus and whispered.

"Come on Poptart, we know this is what you want." She winked and went back to the stage to finish her speech. That was the last time she ever saw her, and speak to her.

Time went like a blur. After their graduation party, she suddenly left without saying a word to her. She called and texted her many times but there was no reply.

She went to Thomas and asked where Bea was, and he told her that her parents were calling her.

She asked Veronica, Chloe, and Carter, but they didn't know the full details of her so-called "emergency".

Next, she asked Zoey, she didn't know either.

Two weeks have passed and still no sign of Bea.

Veronica, Chloe, and especially Zoey have tried contacting her through social media, and her number, even they can't reach her. It's like she disappeared.

In just a short amount of time, things were changing too fast for Poppy. After graduation, she left Belvoire to start working for her parent's company. With the help of some secret business partners, her parent's company was saved from bankruptcy. Whoever they were Poppy's family was grateful to them.

For the past two weeks, Bea never left Poppy's mind. What did she mean by what she said back in their graduation ceremony? Was it a confession? Did she mean it? Even, after all, she put her through, did Farm Girl still want to be with her? She didn't know.

Poppy scrolled her phone digging through her Bea's Snapchat, Pictagram, and Tiktok. There was something about her social media account that made her feel a lot of things:

Jealous for seeing her flirt and make out with girls and boys in random places, well she is a player, but still, people keep coming back to her for more.

Awe and Attraction for seeing her pose like a professional model in one of Octavia Olivier's fashion show, she looked naturally beautiful (and handsome when she cross-dresses as a guy). Her figure was perfect not too skinny, nor fat. She was slender yet toned, and you can see her slightly defined abs when she worked out. She was tall about 5'8ft tall or slightly taller, the way she threads her short wavy brown hair, and the way she looks at the camera with her hazel eyes. God! her eyes were too mesmerizing and hypnotic.

And Sadness, loneliness, anger, and bitterness, were piled up in a bucket of emotions.

That's all she knew about Bea, but Bea knows more about her than her own self. To Poppy, Bea was still a mystery to her. She only knew the Bea from Belvoire. What was she like before and after she came to New York? She wanted to know.

It was already evening when Poppy realized she'd been thinking about Bea again.

"Shit! It's past eight, I better get the papers done before Daddy sends me another one tomorrow." She went out of her bed to get ready for work when all of a sudden her phone rang.

"Who would call me at this hour?". She went to her bed and picked up her phone. It was a random number.

"What the-? What is this some kind of prank?" Poppy had no time for jokes. She answered her phone with an annoying voice.

"Whoever the hell you are I don't have time for any of your-" Her heart dropped when she heard that familiar voice with a slight Midwestern accent.

"Hey! Pops you need to work on your anger and here I thought I was going to give you a surprise call."

Seriously!? After contacting her for two weeks and leaving her behind, she has the nerve to suddenly call her out of blue? Didn't Farm Girl know she sobbed her eyes out every night thinking she deserted her?

Poppy inhaled and exhaled to calm herself, it was only two weeks, yet it felt like forever. It was now or ever, Farm Girl will hear a lot from and she means "a lot" so her ears would bleed.

Online gaming and its impact on society.

The gaming industry has been growing over the past years. It is portrayed as an evolution of digitized third places, further confusing boundaries among social media platforms and social networking sites (Burroughs, 2014). There are several concepts introduced in types and forms of play.

Firstly, Caillois (1961) introduced the concept of Ludus & paidia, which translates to 'rules' and 'freedom,' respectively. Huizinga (1938), on the other hand, introduced the concepts Agon, Alea, Mimicry, and Ilinx.

Those concepts translate to 'Competition,' 'Chance,' 'Simulation,' and 'Vertigo,' respectively.

The concept of 'Agon' is applied to games that require training, techniques, and discipline. For instance, games such as Dota and Plant VS Zombies requires the Agon concept of play.

'Alea,' on the other hand, is where the effort, ability, and expertise are dismissed, and the 'victory is an outcome of fate instead of triumph over an opponent. For instance, simple games such as poker and football fit Alea's description.

'Mimicry' is where players escape themselves and transforms into 'illusory characters.' Games such as World of Warcraft and The Sims must fit into the description.

Finally, 'Ilinx' is a play formed by the production of vertigo or disorientation. Games such as Angry Birds and Stormland with Occulus Rift are examples of the Ilinx form of play.

Online gaming is often looked down upon and is considered 'useless,' 'a waste of time', and not beneficial to society. However, the COVID-19 pandemic brought many people together to play games, especially online games.

For instance, games such as Among Us and Animal Crossing were famous during the pandemic's lockdown. The game Among Us had 100 million downloads by people, and it still holds the record as the most downloaded game. On the other hand, the game Animal Crossing rose in popularity and secured Nintendo Switch revenues (Lufkin, 2020).

This pandemic caused the World Health Organization (WHO) to shift its perspective on online gaming; on which at first, they considered online gaming as harmful and addictive, and changed their stance by praising online gaming as beneficial and having a positive impact on stress management (Kriz, 2020, p. 405).

Although online gaming has pros in forming communities, building relationships, and helping stress management, it has cons too.

Firstly, online gaming is prone to create an environment for harassment. This is due to online gaming is often preferred by males. According to a report, 93% of women had to hide their gender identity as they experienced sexual harassment online (Sacco, 2022). This issue, therefore, causes online gaming to be known as a toxic place.

Next, online gaming can lead to addiction. This addiction can affect one's health too—for instance, tiredness and sleep deprivation. According to a report, about 60 million people suffer from game addiction (Hopkins, 2022). This reflects what WHO said before they changed their perspective on gaming.

Gaming is fun if your circle if you have the right circle. 

Conclusion

To conclude, many types and forms of play are produced due to different gaming content. Pros and cons should also be highlighted when it comes to social gaming. Hence, one should be careful when indulging in social gaming as it is not everyone's cup of tea.

Creating an Online Presence

How do I make an online presence?

What might seem like a simple question has been asked, and answered by thousands, probably millions of would be influencers, marketing experts and "E-Celebrities" and still no one has came up with a foolproof answer. It all depends on what sort of online presence you are looking for, as an aspiring Game Developer I will be trying to get my name "out there" to as many would-be Employers, Coworkers and (hopefully one day) Investors as possible. For some of my Hobbies, such as painting Miniatures, Building Lego and Making music, I've posted my progress, things I'm proud of, and things i know i need to work on, to a community of likeminded social media users to give me feedback, criticisms and just to enjoy. I plan on doing the same thing with my Video Game journey, Posting all my Progress from my first "Proper" try at a video game in 1st year of Uni, the hundreds of VERY amateur sketches I've made while coming up with game concepts, to the Games I'm actually proud of.

Why would I make an online presence?

Like I mentioned in my last paragraph, mostly just to get my name out there. To show everyone I can what makes me special, what makes me so different to all these other Developers, and (most importantly) why they should hire ME. I've never been the most outspoken person in the world, so making a blog, showing people what I can do without even having to meet them (and risk making a fool of myself) first seems like a no brainer.

What Platforms Should I Use?

Another good question (Thanks Gavin) and a controversial one too. Most Social Media sites that people still use (RIP MySpace) have certain connotations that come with them, most of them negative, and that influences the type, and amount, of Industry members that use each website. From the stereotype that Facebook is for the older generations, and Instagram is for the younger generations, Tumblr is for the Artsy types, LinkedIn is for the Serious types, YouTube is somehow home to everyone, and god knows whats happening to X (formerly twitter) It seems if you want to reach the most people possible, you need to be open to posting to multiple sites. Before starting this blog, id never even opened the Tumblr website, and had only really heard about it from a couple old memes and YouTube videos (DashCon 2014?? too deep a cut??) Only to find out that its nothing like the picture id been painted, so I've learned already that I need to keep a very open mind. So far i have been posting on Instagram and Twitter since starting Secondary school, Facebook since i got invited to play Farmville by my Granny, LinkedIn since starting my part-time job hunt in 1st year of Uni, and YouTube since I got my first PC and thought I was fit to be the next member of FaZe, so I have my fair share of social media experience.

What Sets Me Apart From the Competition?

I think what sets me apart from the countless talented people in my industry is my passion for the things that i set my heart to, When i start a project, its all i can do, its all i think of, in my free time i'll be thinking of different ways to improve on my ideas, new concepts and ideas. When I was at work over the summer, i spent all my free time (and any time the place was empty enough) sketching out weapons, armour, locations, enemies and pretty much anything else that came to mind for the game i was working on over summer. It becomes almost an obsession, to the point where i was dreaming about medieval armour because i was so invested in the concept of the game. By the time Uni started back up again id filled up a sketchbook with ideas (and probably filled half my recycling bin with sub-par sketches.)

I think the overall experience of playing Tetris was nostalgic and interesting. In comparison to the types of games we see today have advanced greatly. But playing this simple yet intriguing game was fun. The emulator was interesting, I see how you are able to play differing games on one platform. During the game, I almost forgot how to play the game but through repetition, I was able to see how the different shapes fit into each other. And how accessible it is to play certain games that you've remembered as a child. But playing it on the original hardware just gives you a different experience when holding something in your hand and actually acquiring the game itself. The emulator kind of reminds me of when everybody was obsessed with Facebook 'Farmville', and how you had to hop onto your computer and water your crops every day. I think it's so different to see how these games can evolve into our browser. Overall, the experience of having an emulator and the physical hardware just hits differently. I would rather prefer the physical hardware just because I'm able to have more of a connection with what I'm playing.
