happy talk shop tuesday!! ˗ˋˏ ♡ ˎˊ˗ what's a wip you're currently excited about? consider this an open floor to chat about it, whether you want to talk about a cool plot point or detail, a challenge you overcame, you just wanna share a banging snippet/screenshot, or anything else !!

I'm really excited about my current Lockwood&Co WIP: Inside, This Place is Warm! It's a cot3 + Skullyle fic about Skull returning to Portland Row after the events of the series are concluded and trying to possess George.

I'm basically mashing together all my favorite ships into one with this piece, but it also made me realize I have 3 current WIPs that are all at their heart exploring the Skull as a character. It's very fun for me to write the angst and romance of Cot3 because it comes pretty naturally to me, in that it's stuff I've written before and feel comfortable with. Writing Skull has given me a unique challenge because he's a character that is so intentionally mysterious and closed off, it's hard to really finesse how he would think and react in a way that follows the major beats I want the story to have. It's a great challenge for me as a writer because I'm used to writing characters like Lockwood or Lucy or George that have emotional blocks, but are characters that you can see being willing to work through that and have emotional vulnerability. Skull is just so different to that, it doesn't come naturally for me to write him at more than a surface level so it's really tough, but satisfying to try to develop him in a way that feels in character, but also tells the story that drew me to create this fic in the first place.

Also it's my first time posting smut fic publicly so that's exciting and also nerve wracking, lol.

who is more likely to get injured doing small tasks: Skull. His an idiot.

who worries more about the other: Lucy. Her stupid ass boyfriend keeps injuring himself with the simplest task, of course she’s worried!

who is more afraid about the other leaving them: Lucy. She’s the world’s Olympic Gold Medalist for Jumping Into Conclusions, she’s gonna have some stupid thoughts every now and again.

who is more likely to leave (for any reason): Skull. At least in the beginning of the ‘relationship’, back when his very concerned if he should be with Lucy, for her own safety, seeing as his a reckless idiot and most likely a murderer in a past life.

who is more likely to drunkenly confess: Skull. Lucy doesn’t drink, at least not to the point where she’d get drunk, she’s very careful about it, but Skull isn’t, and his drunk self can’t help but adore her.

who is more likely to push the other away (for any reason): Skull. His done some bad things in the past, he doesn’t want to put her in risk if he ever had to go back to that life.

who picks fights more often: Skull. He’s stupid.

who usually apologizes first: Skull. Not stupid enough not to know that if he wants seps or cuddles he gotta calm down his gf.

who is more likely to withhold their feelings for the other: Both. Lucy would initially feel weirded out by the reactions she’s been making to the things he does, trying to convince herself that she still dislikes him. Skull on the other hand is just an idiot and probably just went ‘OH NO SHES HOT’ and tried to strangle that thought.

who is more likely to lash out at the other: Lucy. She’s more short tempered, and Skull likes to push her buttons, even if its playful.

who gets more jealous: Lucy. No one touches her annoying piece of ass.

who is more likely to support the other in a relationship with someone else “as long as they’re happy”: Both.

The whole thing was fucked up anyway. Even as a child of twelve, even before she saw her number, she knew that the universe was cruel. Why give a number and no names? Hiiii!!! Actually I hadn’t been asked this question before, I’ll be happy to answer it!

Actually, I’d say my favorite ship from L&Co is Kippwoolyle!: Quill x Lockwood x Lucy!

You may not know this but im a bit of a hardcore crackshipper, and while I started on this ship as a joke, it really grew on me! I just find it to be a really cute trouple possibility for the characters, and not only that but I find that having each other’s company would rather benefit them all in different ways! Besides, can’t you just imagine them cuddled up together at night to sleep!

IT WOULD BE JUST SO ADORABLEEEEEEE

I know a trouple isn’t for everyone, but this is my personal favorite!

Nono, all your ships are actually interesting, because I'm a huge crackshipper too, and I really like indulging onto ships I've never really considered. Speaking of ships, I would love to know why you ship Skullyle and Jepps from the list last time!

I’d love to!

Firstly: you go ahead and read the books and tell me if Skull wasn’t just blatantly jealous of Lockwood! There are just so many instances in which he’ll make his snide little comments about Lockwood that sound almost like a little kid that pulls on your hair to get your attention, and all the times he makes comments about Lucy’s physique, many would say this is a sign that his a butthole, attacking her insecurities, which it is, but its also a sign that he notices her physically like that time he said her dress was too tight on the back like, what where you doing looking at her ass skull please *wink wink*, and dare I say, likes what he sees. Personally, I just really like to think he has this immature crush on her and just wants to get her attention anyway he can get it.

AND as for the Jepps:

Come on. I think most of us in this fandom have thought about it at least once, I mean; Quill is older than Lockwood by a few years, so was his sisters so theres a small chance they might have known each other, I just decided to go nuts from there. Granted, this is a ship I’d usually ship outside of L&Co’s universe, because playing with AU’s is always fun, but I especially like to think of it as a way to play around with Jessica’s character since we know virtually nothing of her: we know she and Lockwood had several years of age difference, and that before she died they looked very similar (like most siblings do), but what do we know about her aside from that? Nothing! We don’t know her personality, or if she still looks like him after a couple of years, or if she had Talent, if she was an agent, and those are the things I find most interesting about this ship! Quill is kind of a cool add-on, a means to test out ideas for her and just have fun!

I hope this isn’t too long to read, I’m just kinda passionate about this and I’m happy to share it!
