She's a little 7yo scarecrow kid who would feature in books for little kids!! While a lot of her stories have that Halloween/fall vibes it's not a horror and very based on vibes similar to The Great Pumpkin, Casper, Scary Godmother, Ruby Gloom, and other cutesy Halloween media for kids!!!

Something that really gets me is the simple fact that Ariel has locs.

It’s very recently that mainstream media portrays Black actresses with natural styles. And even then, those styles are usually the same ones: loose curls, box braids, maybe twists.

It is extremely rare for not only a female character to have locs, but for them to also be characterized as soft, delicate, and dainty. More often than not, female characters with locs are depicted as “rough” or “laidback”. If not high in masculinity, then simply uncaring of their appearance.

So for Ariel to have locs AND be framed as cute, as pretty, as sweet, just really hit for me. Because locs typically aren’t given to those kinds of characters. I saw a post on here that referred to Ariel’s hair as “pretty princess hair” and had to take a moment.

I'm trying to write this story about a noir-type detective and I'm just finding it so difficult?? Like not even for plot or whatever, I think I'm okay with that, but I'm trying so hard to make my detective guy all angsty and broody and dark, like oooh he's so tortured and sad but he handles it like a Man(TM), that kinda stuff, but every time I make him interact with anyone he just ends up being super polite and friendly. He calls everyone Mr. and Miss and old people Sir or Ma'am. Like, earlier I was just writing and the words were coming along well and when I reread it he was talking about this restaurant he likes because "the tea reminds me of how my grandma used to make it :)" It really shows that I have never actually written angst in my life.

When you're writing a random HimeRita fic and you can't help but to think about the bugs they represent and how exactly it fits into the ship 😳😳

Orchid mantis resembles flowers that allows it to lure in its prey which is other bugs (including butterflies).

Butterflies feed off of flowers for their nectar (which is essentially sugar water. And guess who has an abundance of sweets in her castle!).

In terms of HimeRita, it actually fits into their relationship so far. Himeno always willing to include Rita into the conversation as well as being the one that Rita is slowly opening up to in a positive way. A way for them to let their guard down around Himeno and Himeno alone (if not Morfonia).

I'm not sure if they'll ever turn it into a trap like it normally would in nature, but it's such an interesting concept that other fans have noticed. Especially since most art I've seen has Himeno on top of Rita in some shape or form 😏

But AHHHHH I wanna see them be gay at the end of the season in some shape or form! 🥺🥺

just had the worst hair cut experience :(
