She’s such a minor character but you can tell how much Tommy relies on and trusts Frances every time she appears. And when she does, I think you can tell how much she respects him and cares for him too. I’ve been thinking about Tommy trying to work himself up to go to the fascist meeting and asking Frances if he looks okay and she knows just how to fortify him and encourage him in the face of this terrible moment. How she gently holds him by the shoulders, a pretty familiar move for a servant, and tells him he’s all right, he won’t shatter if someone touches him, and how that shores him up and he gets through the meeting (barely)

i’m sure youse already know this, but nobody should feel bad for having been a fan of wilbur’s in the light of what’s happened

yeah, with hindsight it’s easy to pick apart his actions, and stories his friends have told, to look for signs that he was hurting people. plenty of people are gonna think they should’ve known sooner, and others are gonna claim they knew all along that he sucked, but in reality there is no way anyone could’ve known until shelby came out about the abuse she faced. he’s someone many people, including myself, looked up to on some level and you’re always gonna wanna see the best in people you look up to, and that’s okay. you don’t have to feel guilty for that

the thing to do now is to give yourself the time and space you need to move forward from here, and give what support you can to the people that were harmed by him

i think my fav scene in c2 so far might be imogen grilling the priest in the dawnfathers temple because omg that girl is so desperate for help but trying so hard to also understand how fuckin weird god worship and religion actually is.

like she's seen a robot toss a coin in the hair and have a god appear, seen a holy woman resurrect her gf with words, diamonds, and a necklace, and watched people talk about gods like they walk among them but she's also so junior to worship?

this priest is like trying to introduce a new girl to religion in way she might philosophically understand like "Leave offerings and it might strengthen your connection to faith" and imogens like "Nah bitch I know he's kicking rocks somewhere so tell me what the hell he wants me to give him so we can chat about making a deal to save my gfs life"

its wild that she's in some ways more in tune with gods than people who actually worship them. imogen doesn't see gods as all-powerful beings; to her they're little bitches with a lot of unearned power that need help killing something with her moon magic and that's objectively the funniest dynamic to religion we've seen in CR so far.
