[TASK 117: THE WABANAKI CONFEDERACY]
In celebration of November being Native American Heritage Month, here’s a masterlist below compiled of over 60+ Abenaki, Maliseet, Mi’kmaq, Passamaquoddy, or Penobscot faceclaims categorised by gender with their occupation and ethnicity denoted if there was a reliable source. The Wabanaki Confederacy was a powerful confederacy of indigenous peoples in the US and Canada founded in 1606 of the the culturally and linguistically related Abenaki, Maliseet, Mi’kmaq, Passamaquoddy, and Penobscot tribes. The Wabanaki Confederacy broke apart in 1862, but have since reestablished their confederacy as of 1993. If you want an extra challenge use random.org to pick a random number! Of course everything listed below are just suggestions and you can pick whichever faceclaim or whichever project you desire.
Any questions can be sent here and all tutorials have been linked below the cut for ease of access! REMEMBER to tag your resources with #TASKSWEEKLY and we will reblog them onto the main! This task can be tagged with whatever you want but if you want us to see it please be sure that our tag is the first five tags, @ mention us or send us a messaging linking us to your post!

BIOGRAPHY
The only thing she remembers from before the masters that Cosimo freed her from, is her name; Zaira (pronounced dzie-ra). The masters before Cosimo never used her real name. They called her Perlah because it was meant to bring wealth and wisdom, though their intentions were for her to bring that to them. They were wealthy, the rulers of the city they lived in.
They trapped her in her snake form, kept her as a pet, a toy. She was a trophy to show off to friends, just something pretty for them to look at. Something that their children tormented.
They abused her, forced her to serve them. They obtained more wealth and power in their community simply by using her to invoke fear in their people. After all, who wouldn’t be afraid of a giant, aggressive snake. They sent her after anyone who didn’t pay them enough. If she tried to defy them, they punished her severely.
Still, she begged every guest, every passer-by, to help her, and none of them understood her. They assumed her hissing and slithering towards them was an aggression meant to intimidate. Until Cosimo came. When he found her, he could understand her. They had clicked from the very start, and with her former masters, she’d never thought she’d even get a friend. Cosimo would always be far more.
He was the first to understand her, and when he did everything he could to free her from her torment, she was ecstatic. She didn’t even care that him freeing her simply transferred her ownership from her former masters to him. She would follow him to the ends of the universe just for being her saviour.
And she knows it isn’t about owning her for him. It isn’t about that for either of them. She knows that he could command anything of her, and she’d have to follow, but it doesn’t matter because he wouldn’t. He wouldn’t order her to do anything, only ask favours of her. Favours he would also do for her. But whether compelled to or not, she would do anything for him. All he’d have to do is ask. Just because he is her best friend.
Her former masters’ abuse led to a fear of touch, a fear that anyone who would come near her would treat her the same. But once she was Cosimo’s, she always felt more comfortable when she could feel him with her. Both because he takes care of her, and because it means she knows where he is and that he is safe. While the fear of touch still haunts her, she’s never found herself uncomfortable around Cosimo. His touch is comforting. She grows used to the occasional touch from those close to her as well, if she’s known them long enough.
Even around his family, small touches here and there are okay, because she knows Cosimo would never bring her around anyone who would harm her. While strangers make her nervous, she sees Cosimo’s family as hers, and is almost as protective of them as she is of him. She would do anything to protect his children, his friends, his sister.
For Zaira, Cosimo is home, so her transition into the Seelie Realm was not as difficult, because her concerns fell more for their family than they did for herself. And as much as she misses Italy, she doesn’t care if she can’t be there because she knows she’d be unhappy if Cosimo wasn’t there.

Personality
She had always been caring, despite her parents abrupt and taunting nature, she never lost her ability to care. She always considered others before herself, even if it meant she put herself at risk. From a young age she knew she had the ability to care beyond belief, from the moment her younger brother was born and she cared for him more than her parents did. No one really understood why. Though this caring nature was easily tainted by her temper. She finds it difficult to trust others, knowing that strangers can easily take the most important things away from you. She can be sarcastic, knowing that trusting others is worthless, and instead aims to make situations lighthearted when they become to person-centred. She has spirit and remains fiesty when she knows what is right, and what she wants– something she inherited from her mother
Past
From a young age she had been destined to do great things, being brought up by a family who believed education was an ideal, and a necessity to ensure she accomplished great things. Malia had always been brought up with a family who wanted what was best for her. Her family remained within the Scottish isles, and it was an area that no one deemed unsafe. Therefore, her childhood was filled with adventures and all the possibilities wished of. She had an ideal life, one that many would envy. Before her time, her parents Alistair and Eleanor met through their pack. They always speak about the wonderful times they had and how they fell for the companionship and loyalty they both admired. When she was born, her parents chose to leave the pack to ensure their daughters safety. Nothing was more important to them than to ensure a high quality of life for their daughter, ensuring her future was bright and hopeful. There were recent murders that confirmed their beliefs that it was not somewhere she was safe and protected. It was not an environment they wished for her to be within. They wanted Malia to have a normal life, one where she could thrive and be the best she could be, and remain with good morals.
Upon growing up, Malia knew she was somewhat different from her friends. She did not struggle in school, despite her rebellious side with controlling her abilities. There was considerable evidence to suggest that she was beginning to embrace herself, so much so she caused harm to her boyfriend, and ended his life. Upon that incident, they were no longer safe to remain within their normal life. A hunter caught sights of the incident, meaning her family and herself had to remove themselves from town, ensuring that they were not in harms way. Being known to a hunter was not something the family had planned for. As they left town, they believed they had reached a safe place. They begun returning to their normal life, but within a new environment. One evening, the hunters found their new location. Malia managed to hide within a trunk, yet her parents did not make it out alive.
Present
Her parents disappearance, or likely death, spurred significant change in Malia’s life. She packed her things and fled towards Mystic Falls, where she knew a pack was located where they would teach her how to control her anger. It was the intervention she needed, to show her parents she would honour their lives and prove she was worth their sacrifice. Despite wanting to prove herself, Malia has never truly forgiven herself for her parents demise. Whilst in Mystic Falls, her aim is to focus on her powers, knowing that friendships are not required. Instead, she remains faithful to her parents and aims to make them proud.

Upon arrival, Malia needed someone to assist in her self control, and Astrid stood up to her and made a friend of herself to the lonely wolf. She admires her more than anyone, and appreciates her being apart of her life.

The girl has grown on her, and somehow even if she know the girl hides a secret, it’s nice to talk to someone who wont judge her.
Sofia Brown
She lacks trust in the female, and has seen her hunting abilities and believes the girl had involvement in her parents death. This alone makes her someone not worthy of her time, and wishes to find a way to make her pay.
