This part didn't surprise me in the slightest because they kept pushing that girl on us even though we weren't interested, simply because the show runners admitted they thought Lyndie was more attractive:

"Maureen Ryan's exposé, out Tuesday, also suggests through multiple sources involved with the show that the co-stars on the Fox series, Tom Mison and Beharie, "did not want to have a whole lot to do with each other" and that co-star Lyndie Greenwood was brought in as a potential replacement for Beharie."

"Burn It Down also claims that following alleged conflict between co-creator and director Len Wiseman and Beharie while filming the pilot, actress Lyndie Greenwood — who portrayed Beharie’s sister, Jenny Mills — was brought on as a potential replacement for the 42 and Shame actress."

This part pissed me the fuck off THEE MOST:

Beharie was said to have prefaced statements with “I’m not trying to be difficult,” despite one source saying they never witnessed her being so. Or at least no more than Mison, who was allegedly described by a producer as “the star” and who another source described as “a handful” as well. “He had his own set of issues,” they said. “I’ve always said that on any other show, he would’ve been the biggest problem.”

They had the audacity to ruin Nikki's career AND THEIR SHOW for this lanky uncharismatic Beans On Toast bitch, and where has he been since Sleepy Hollow? What has he done?

I hope this book changes things, I’m just so tired of being a Black woman into sci fi and fantasy because more often than not I feel punched in the face by the things I choose to give a chance to. People are just as free to not ship a couple as they are to ship them, but I find it highly interesting the amount of vehement protesting this pairing is getting. It's borderline aggressive. It's like people forgot how shipping works. People are going to ship. It's the nature of any fandom. But like any other show with a Black female lead (or even a supporting character, lbr), it's unsurprising and quite on brand. It's also just as exhausting. 😒

My mind will never never NEVER get past how FUCKED OVER Sleepy Hollow was by its own producers and writers, who decided their audience was, despite all indications, more interested in Generic British White Guy #1531521 (and like... This was the height of the SuperWhoLock era, Generic British White Guys were a dime a dozen and you'd get change back) than in Nicole Beharie, Julliard trained actress.

What's even worse is how they STILL won't admit it, either.

Recently finished the two Shady Hollow short stories. Man, are they short but I liked them! My fav was the Phantom Pond, I really liked the atmosphere and really felt like a cozy mystery with Halloween (Gate Night), the legend of Creeping Juniper, etc. I enjoy a quick read personally, and I like how it's not stressful to read the series. They don't spoiler the books in the main series, which is a nice touch.

I like to imagine the animals as Animal Crossing, Fantastic Mr.Fox or Hoodwinked. I saw some reviews complain about the characters being animals doing human stuff which I'm like? Personified animals are quite popular in media.

Anyway, I'd love to see a stop motion movie on any of the series, specifically Phantom Pond. Couldn't tell you why that one specifically, but I imagined it as stop motion. Has anyone else read the books? I wanna talk about them, but no one else I know has read them 😔 I'm going to start Twilight Falls soon, and I'm eyeballing Summer's End coming out this year.
