I bought a book and they didn't have a copy with the original full artwork, they had a version where it's like a small cropped square of the art. And now I've found a copy with the original art And got an offer from the seller so it's like $2.12 + shipping and I Really really want it. Bc I want specific covers for this series. But I already own a copy of this book! And of course the seller tagged the book with a sticker on the spine so I can't go and resell it....

Started belly dancing recently - which is fantastic, I love it! - and discovered that a hip belt is vital so the instructor can more easily see what you're actually doing. (And if the belt has coins on it, it will jingle if you move and you'll be able to hear if you're moving incorrectly.)

Plus they're so sparkly and awesome! And they're easy to find if you happen to be straight sized.

But if you're plus sized in the UK? Nope.

There are coin belts that you can tie around yourself at the end of the ties, but the decorated bit will only come to your belly button. It looks stupid and it makes you feel bad. It makes you feel like your body is abnormal and you don't belong in this dance class with all these svelte little people.

What to do about it? Well, obviously, make ones that fit and are fabulous.

I started making them for myself. Then I thought 'maybe other fat people might like them?' And I've put some of them up to sell on Etsy

If you're wondering why they're so pricey compared with the straight sized ones you can get on Amazon or Shein, (I don't understand how they can even buy the materials for that price) it's because

they're made by me (not oppressed sweatshop/prison workers)

they're made from recycled fabric in small batches of what I can get hold of

because of the above, they are either rare or unique

If you can't find one to fit, I will make you one to your individual measurements

Felt like making some original art to sell. Finally, I'm starting to post listings onto Etsy.

These are four, hand-cut, original watercolour paintings on 360gsm board. They can be stuck up to walls with bluetack, or you can just carry these losers around with you in your pocket.

Choose your fighter. Sadly, I have only made 4, these aren't prints, they're quite literally the only four of their kind.

[EMERGENCY]

this past week, i've been bringing my cat wyatt to the vet and it turns out that he has some serious health complications making him sick. he has a low red blood cell count but his body is still not giving up, trying to make more to replace them. we tried giving him a hand with blood transfusions, but something is creating complications; the vet believes it may be a tumor.

an exploratory diagnostic to confirm is ~$800 and if treatable, his options for surgery can range up to $5k. i am desperate to save my best friend or at the very least, have clear answers for him. he's kept me strong through so much over the years and i want to do the same.

if you can spare anything or even just share this, i'd appreciate it. i'll be taking in donations, selling charms, and grinding through adopts and commissions so every bit of profit can go to wyatt.

Ever wanted your own Mystery Shack?

Me too, so I got one made. This standee diorama is in the final stages of sampling - things will be changing a little (bigger shack, inner cutout for the cart, more vibrant etc) but this is a great view of how the final product will look. It's about 10cm tall by 10cm wide (which is pretty huge for a standee). It uses 5 individual uprights of 4mm thick eco friendly timber (which is also pretty huge for a standee) and uses the most complex artwork I've ever done for a product.

I'm still trying to work out how I can price these but the long and short of it is that this shit is really expensive. I'll be selling this baby in a size-specific with a special art card (which doubles as the instructions) for £48.99 including tracked international shipping, or £42.99 domestic UK postage.

I know that's a really big ask, and it might be too expensive for people. I wish I could get them for less money but my margins are scarily low for this thing. When you start working with multiple cuts, things rise in price quickly. Especially with Etsy's frankly terrifying fees.

As a result, I really kinda...need to know if people like it in advance. If you'd buy it, or you think it deserves its price, please give it a reblog. If I'm content it's got an audience you can expect it live on Not S&P Approved in June 2024.
