Starting the thread for all Halloween based headcanons for Nexo Knights.

• Lance believes every superstition about Halloween being an “evil” holiday.

• Macy trades candy with kids to get her favorite ones.

• Aaron will often outsmart and spook scare actors at corn mazes and haunted houses.

• Clay’s primal reaction to fear is fight. He’s accidentally punched Aaron more times than he can count, and everyone’s starting to think it isn’t an accident anymore.

• Robin and Ava share bowls of candy while they watch the knights go through horror movie themed training simulations.

• Izzy is the undefeated pumpkin queen of Auremville for three years in a row. She always saves a spot on her throne for Fletcher.

• Aaron’s siblings will spam his messages with videos of their Halloween pranks and “evil parties” in the forest and beach. They even invited selkies once.

• Macy = addicted candy corn lover

• Clay = hates candy corn and gives it to Macy in exchange for peanut butter chocolate candies

• Axl once scared an entire family on accident just by standing behind them in costume. Needless to say, the knights got a lot more candy than usual that year.

• Clay isn’t a big candy person, only because he doesn’t remember what candies he likes. He’s taken a fondness to Reese’s though.

• Aaron only eats a little candy, for he’s not the biggest fan of sweets. He prefers apple slices and caramel dip.

that's very sweet, thank you! (and thank you to the other anon messages in my inbox - if you sent something nice and never saw me answer it, it's because i'm clutching it to my chest with my grubby little goblin hands for easy rereading <3) pnw au was very much a labor of love and it means a lot to hear it's still affecting readers!

i haven't been much in the writing mood lately, unforch, but i technically have several new stories in the works. none of them will be ready to post any time soon, but a few teasers to maybe motivate myself:

forefront project right now is what i've been referring to as multiverse au, a loose au of The Midnight Library. beatrice pov, hopping through multiple lives. (is it also about grief? of course.) i have a partial outline and about 1k actually written, so there's still a long way to go 😅

selkie au... what it says on the tin, ava is a selkie. obsessed with the vibes of this one but haven't figured out what story to actually tell with it yet, so it'll be rotating for a while yet.

dragonrider au is fully outlined, but the snippet posted is all that's written for it still... i'm simply not ready to revisit it yet. in time, i hope i'll be able to come back to it and feel the love and joy that was so present during the outlining process. grief takes time.

it was four years between my previous story and pnw au, largely because i was fandom-less for several years. i'm still here digging in the wn sandbox though and haven't lost hope that i'll have more stories to share at some point!

its what i mentioned wanting to explore with selkies as a metaphor for abuse and exploitation

helmine is a selkie whos been separated from ais seal skin ever since ai was 12 and now 11 years later ais determined to get it back, sick of being given no choice and being forced to live as a human

its at its core a way for me to deal with some complicated feelings and things BUT its also me having a great time exploring selkie things and im having a lot of fun

helmine halloran - [ai/ais] the selkie mentioned, usually a very shy and quiet person whos never fit in right and never drawn attention to aiself but thats about to change Drastically

siobhan ingham - [se/hir] a human who met helmine when they were both 17, se has a major crush on helmine and has confessed but helmine said ai wasnt ready for a relationship like that, the feelings still remain theyre just friends though

hazel cheshire - [she/they] helmines oldest friend having met ai when ai was put into a school for the first time around the age of 14, she was originally made to go show the new kid around but they both got along well

ava mcnabb - [e/em] originally siobhans childhood friend who is now a friend of helmines too, e was the main matchmaker and was originally disappointed when things didnt work out, now e is happy that was the case

5) Do you or have you ever had a heart dog?

i don't know if i wholly understand the feeling that makes a heart dog a heart dog, but i have had several animals that i've had a very special bond with, that set them apart from the other animals i've had throughout my life. my childhood cat growing up, Frosty, was one of these, and i'm fortunate to be very strongly bonded with both of my current dogs.

6) Did you grow up with dogs?

yes! my mom is a huge animal lover. we had a couple dogs that ended up getting rehomed because they weren't safe around children. and we also fostered a lot of dogs when i was very young. my childhood dog, Scoopie, was a little longhair chihuahua and he lived till he was 15 or so.

8) Do you have any “saved” names for future dogs?

i only come up with names if i know the breed/temperament/general appearance of the dog. so since i don't have any next dogs planned, i don't have any names. but, i can share some that i didn't end up using!

November 9 – SwynRPVision

OBLIVION'S KISS is a visual novel dating sim for the PC released in 2018. It was created through a Kickstarter fundraiser by Avery Amons, a self-described half-elf who wanted to make a game "by Magicks, for Magicks".

The game takes place in a small, Magick-friendly town in Oregon, where the main character (a Mundus) is starting their freshman year at community college. There, they meet a wide cast of characters from all walks of life. They must face the trials and tribulations of college life--balancing work, finances, friendships, and even...love?

Players have the opportunity to romance one out of six characters (left to right): Sunny, the cool kid Medium hoping to make it big with their band. Michael, the shy and nervous Selkie trying to keep his identity from the wrestling team. Ava, the gothic Animal-Talent Fairy who volunteers at the local shelter. Robin, the studious vampire who has spent decades at the college learning everything they can. Jada, the hot-headed werewolf who is navigating the space after her secret got out. And Quinn, the laid-back sorcerer that accidentally summoned and now shares her body with a quipping demon.

The game has received mixed reviews since its release. Some have claimed that the storylines are shallow, and do not go deeply enough into the experience of being a Magick in a Mundus majority world. Others have called out the creator directly, claiming that they lied about their Magick status to get clout online, and recirculating a Tumblr callout post from 2012. The game had brief viral buzz on 4chan, who denounced and trolled the game's pro-Magick beliefs and diverse, queer cast. Despite this, the game has a dedicated and active fanbase, who continue to create art, share stories, and rehash discourse every few months.

that first one is spoilers actually!

the thing with the first kill is ai was supposed to be waiting to go out with ais friends when ai remembered things and put two and two together, so the four of them were wondering where ai was

obviously helmines a bit busy to answer the phone so they went over and ended up seeing the scene of the crime

there was a lot of staring for a bit before ava made the first move back towards the front door cause NOPE NOPE NOT DEALING WITH MY FRIEND KILLING SOMEONE

e didnt get far before helmine caught up and sorta grabbed eir arm

and then there was a lot of helmine yelling at ais friends about what happened while yknow still being very bloody
