One Step From Eden was a good game. Think Megaman Battle Network crossed with Binding of Isaac. Both admittedly very acquired tastes.
As the image notes, Fairfrozen is a lot like Ashardalon's Stride, allowing you to hurt people just by moving into their general vicinity. Just like my mom ayyy. But where Stride has sheer mobility to catch enemies, Fairfrozen compensates with a big AoE and slowing down enemies to pick them apart. You could even go full Spirit Guardians and just take the Dodge action while ramming your snowstorm into people.

Hyunjin and his Kitten
Tumblr media
Hyunjin would always ensure you were at his beck and call. He needed you by his side.
He was harmless most of the time, honestly. His honey sweet voice calling your name, wide smile gracing his pretty lips when you make your way to him. He's always filled with pride, knowing the most beautiful person in the room is pressed against his side. It gave him the kind of selicious rush that nobody else could ever provide, and he was hooked on it.
Truly, the name had been an accident at first. He had told you that you looked like a kitten for one reason or another, and it really wasn't his intention to become obsessed with the way your eyes widdened and your breath hitched as the word registered in his head.
Maybe his intentions were a little less pure the first time he called you Kitten around his friends, though. The name falls so naturally from his mouth when he calls for you that it feels as if he had been calling you that way forever. His pretty, mischievous Kitten.
His intentions have no sense of purity by the end of that night when he's holding your chin as you kneel in front of him, whispering to you that you were such an obedient kitten for him, so willing and so ethereal as you lay yourself bare for his pleasure. If he had known a simple nickname was all it took, he's sure he would have ruined you sooner.

Can I have a Hazel x Fem!reader who likes to break all her stuff? Like she makes them stuff to smash so she doesn't break anything actually important
CONGRATULATIONS
Tumblr media
you're probably the first person on the internet to request OSFE x reader content! You also have nice taste. Here's your reward, little man!
HAZEL: f!reader likes to break shit
- you'd think a maker and breaker would be an awful match, it'd give any engineer a heart attack knowing you're in the area. Fortunately, hazel just isn't any turret engineer!
-Hazel also shares your love of needless destruction! I mean, one of her setups is literally all about destroying her own stuff.
-Building turrets, walls, and summoning in those weird floating crystals just to smash them becomes something of a stress reliever for the two of you. It's just plain ol' fun in both of your eyes! However it's quite a terrifying site from an outsider's perspective.
-Fixing them back up can be fun too, it gives the two of you something to work on together. Being a turret engineer for so long it's like second nature to her and she's more than eager to teach you all she knows. Of course it becomes a little hard to take in everything she's saying when she's so close to you, has her hands guiding yours over what need to be screwed in, leaning in to get that part to click in juuuust right, and... well let's just say productivity isn't as high when it's just the two of you.
-Sometimes she doesn't have build something just for you to break it, there's an odd amount of guns pointed at injured medics in the world. Like a weird amount of them. There's also those giant vats with monsters inside of them. I mean sure the consequences are dire afterwards but hey, they're filled with nickelodeon green slime! You can't just NOT crack them open!! Hazel isn't as thrilled with those..
-It may seem a little odd to everyone else but smashing stuff has become a love language in its own for the two of you! ...just don't let selicy or gunner catch on, they seem like the breaky-smashy type too...
(God bless you autumn, this may have been short but it was fun to write! The four requests I've got left aren't as fun to me but I'll get them down... eventually.)

Stream done!
Well, Legend of Keepers didn't work out, so I'll be removing that from the poll going forward. I DID play One Step From Eden though, and beat the game with Selicy! (again, she seems to be my best character even though I hate her)
Anyway, it was fun! Good night all!

Duelists of Eden is kinda weird cuz I'm sitting here like why build characters differently and the answer seems to just be that youre building around their main and sub weapons. Which seems obvious but like theres no passives or anything. Selicy's snowpiercer doesnt even interact with frost anymore so for a lot of them I'm just like idk man. I built Queen to be annoying with fire and Dreadwyrm to stack spears and then shoot her needler

Duelists of Eden Review - (Steam)
DISCLAIMER: One Step From Eden is one of my favorite games of all time. As such, I must acknowledge the fact that I may be biased towards its sequel, Duelists of Eden. However, I think this review accurately conveys what I think about the game, separate from my personal feelings and potential biases.
Genre shifts often lead to utterly confusing releases. Franchises can take their well-known gameplay and throw it out for something different, like Final Fantasy confusingly replicating Devil May Cry-style combat and the Sonic franchise’s persistent identity crisis. However, sometimes a genre shift allows the mechanics and style of prior releases to flourish in new and exciting ways. Duelists of Eden accomplishes this, as it constructs an excellent fighting game off the mechanics and gameplay of predecessor (One Step From Eden).
Duelists takes the numerous spells of One Step From Eden- the first game’s strongest aspect- and decides to give players full access to every single one. Whereas spells provided replayability and randomness in One Step’s rogue-like gameplay, Duelists gains variation and adaptability by letting players slap together whatever combination of 8-to-10 spells their heart desires. Deck-building in Duelists feels akin to developing party members in RPGs like Octopath Traveler; the game provides all the tools needed to create absurdly powerful strategies.
Although Duelists builds heavily on One Step, it doesn’t quite play like its predecessor. Combat still features 4x4 grids and a pool of mana that restricts spell-casting frequency, but Duelists introduces several new actions to increase gameplay depth. Amassing shields and attempts to evade enemy fire are replaced with dedicated block and dodge buttons, and each character now features two unique attacks. These mechanics allow the combat to feel less like back-and-forth slap fights and more like the brutally fast-paced bouts seen in mainstream fighting games.
The unique attacks not only make every character distinctive but also allow the crossover characters to feel livelier. The attacks these guest stars bring to gameplay function like one familiar with their origins would expect them to, but none of them feel like they got haphazardly dropped into Duelists. At the risk of sounding vapid, Queen-- from Quantum Protocol-- plays like how I’d expect Queen to operate in One Step-style combat.
Additionally, none of the characters feel restricted by their unique attacks. Neera’s attacks encourage builds involving frost damage, but a frost deck with Selicy feels just as effective. Queen and Hazel revolve around building structures, but one can use a deck building off these attacks or a deck with spells that work in conjunction with these attacks. The only thing preventing a deck from being effective in combat is how effectively one can develop synergy between their play style, spells, and character.
It's important to note- at the time of writing (March 8th)- Duelists still needs polishing. While the main game seems free from critical issues, one will inevitably notice the occasional minor hiccup. It’s a game still in progress, albeit one that feels close to completion. However, Duelists of Eden- to the extent of my knowledge- was mostly programmed by a single person. The state the game launched in and the fervor- and speed- with which the developer fixes problems is nothing short of miraculous and impressive!
Speaking of the Gauntlet mode… It’s ok? A lackluster single-player mode in a game primarily concerned with online multiplayer does not make the overall experience terrible. However, Gauntlet mode lacks the panache seen from other fighting game single-player modes like Classic Mode from Super Smash Bros, and the overall dryness of Gauntlet mode feels odd. However, any awkwardness derived from Gauntlet mode quickly washes away due to the quality of the gameplay.
All in all, I give Duelists of Eden a tentative 9/10- which may become a 10/10 as the game progresses and my thoughts have more time to digest- and I highly, HIGHLY recommend it for its cheap $5 price tag!
