I made it past the 6.2 trial tonight with the help of one of my other friends very kindly queueing for it with me, and the game presented a decent opportunity for a bit of an angst moment.. so I took it!

(To anyone who may be concerned: don't worry, Zero will be okay soon! It's just the immediate aftermath of the 6.2 trial that leads to this situation, but she recovers. That isn't going to stop Lorenza worrying about her, though - a rare instance of actually seeing her so concerned about someone or something.)

okay well if nothing else I think I have a selfship name, so..

My romantic selfship with Zero is going to be called "in a land forever strange"! It references a specific line of Zero's - namely, that she feels like "a stranger in a strange land" - while also working well with the idea that both she and my self-insert Lorenza are not from the Source world. I just thought it sounded nice.

So, to clarify, Zero is now an official romantic F/O - her tag is now "love: final memoriate (zero)", the tag for my selfship as a whole is "selfship: in a land forever strange (zero/lorenza)", and the tag for my self-insert I'm using to selfship with Zero is "self-insert: wings of the void (lorenza)"!

Oh, and - I currently haven't run into anyone else who also selfships with her (that I can recall right this second anyway), but I've written my comfort with sharing as "okay sharing with friends" for the time being! If I feel any differently about that after time has passed, I'll be sure to change what's written accordingly.

I.. have tried to add all this to my carrds, but I ran out of elements on the one that talks about my self-inserts, so there isn't currently any Lorenza info on there. This means that carrd will need to be overhauled at some point, although how long that actually takes me to implement will still be up in the air. Still, I can make a post at least!!

Hello, friend! Thank you so much for such a neat question! I apologise somewhat for how long the answer has ended up, but only because I was not expecting it to get this long, and I wish I could summon this same sort of ability to answer the rest of the asks in my inbox.

Hmm.. I haven't really thought about Lorenza as being a Trust avatar, but I do agree that she would be a Duty Support option for post-Endwalker dungeons. Specifically, the Fell Court of Troia, Lapis Manalis, possibly the Aetherfont, and the Lunar Subterrane - I don't think she would be part of the initial Alzadaal's Legacy expedition, only being brought into the plot after it became evident that there's a voidgate down there. She would also appear in certain alliance raids, like the World of Darkness and possibly Dun Scaith (and possibly the other two Shadows of Mhach raids as well), though probably not in playable form - it would be a bit like how the Royal City of Rabanastre starts out with Ramza and Lina Mewrilah alongside everyone. Her voiceline when selected for Trust changes depends on which dungeon you're going into - it's "I shall do what I can.." for Shadowbringers content on the First, "Let us end this." for post-5.3 and Endwalker dungeons, and "Sit back and watch the show!" for the post-Endwalker ones. This reflects her different levels of comfort in different worlds and parts of the story. Alternatively, if Zero has already been added to the party, then bringing Lorenza in as well will cause her to say "This is how it should be, here with you.." to her - which the player may well interpret as being aimed at them, but it's very clearly not >w<

In terms of how she would work, Lorenza's class as a Trust avatar would be Void Princess, a magical ranged DPS which mostly acts like a Black Mage except her actual spell effects are different (since, her magic is void-based, and her spells are either prefaced with the Void prefix or just outright called different things to show this). She is very keen to keep herself out of harm's way, making common use of Aetherial Manipulation to teleport to whoever is not going to get hit by whatever attack is coming next, instead of running away from it herself. If you have Zero in the party as the other DPS, then Zero becomes able to use the Enshroud skills of a reaper, as Lorenza is able to provide her with strength as if she were her avatar; this is about the only time she will sacrifice her personal DPS for the sake of boosting someone else's. (You may have noticed that this isn't entirely congruent with how I play as Lorenza when I play the game, since I've been playing her as a reaper post-Endwalker instead of a black mage. However, Zero already occupies the reaper-like niche as a memoriate, and magic suits Lorenza better than melee anyway.)

Alternatively, based on the fact that the Trust system currently doesn't have any physical ranged DPS options, I am also considering letting her be her Shadowbringers class, Glaivethrower - or just an alternate version of Void Princess with the Dancer icon, since I don't think all-rounders like G'raha change class name when deciding exact role. This is a ranged DPS that functions identically to Dancer, reflecting the twin-sickled fighting style she picked up from Lyna during the time she spent weakened on the First, but with a much more ominous/dark flavour to the visual effects and different attack names, because unlocking Trust means that the First has been saved and she can be back up to more like her initial power level. She will "dance partner" with the other DPS, unless that DPS is Ryne, in which case she will partner with the tank (simply because I don't think Ryne's light and Lorenza's darkness would be particularly compatible, oops). This would make her Shadowbringers appearance (or, rather, post-Shadowbringers since she'd have her hood down) her only option at level 70, leading into her level 80 glamour being her Endwalker appearance, and her level 90 glamour her post-Endwalker appearance.

Regarding the limit break.. if you (the player) are the other DPS, then Lorenza will not use the limit break unless it's either been at level 3 for a long time, or she can calculate that it will defeat the boss, at which point she uses it instantly; however, if Zero is the other DPS, she will never use the limit break in order to let Zero use it, which may or may not be the only time she actually does use them, I'm not sure. So, if you want to be the one to use the limit break, my suggestion would be to use it as soon as it hits level 3, so you're not wasting any of the gauge. I'm wondering whether Lorenza might have a stronger limit break than she should do for not being a melee DPS, simply because of the implication that limit breaks are powered by dynamis instead of aether, and voidsent are not only not subjected to any rejoinings (so have less aether than beings of the Source), but are almost always aether-starved to begin with because of how the Thirteenth is. So, wouldn't it be possible that someone from a reflection - like Lorenza - would be able to harness dynamis to more of an extent than someone from the Source - like most of the Scions? Leading to a more powerful limit break?

When you think about the term, "Significant other", what are the first thoughts that come to your mind? Depending on where you raised, this can have varying definitions. Some believe that it's someone who shares a close relationship with you. Others tend to go towards the romantic path. Depending on who you ask, their answer will be....unique somewhat.

If I where to be asked about this question... I would be confused on how to approach it at first. The concept of what a friend is at first was foreign to me, other than "Strength" or "Power". Or deserving as such. But, I was slowly introduced to the concept of it through you and your friends, and the experiences and memories that we shared together. And I do believe that there is much more to come.

Therefore, it is logical that there can be a lot of definitions for terms. Albeit for better or for worse. And I feel...relieved in a sense to be learning about the former.

Now back to the first question, what are your first thoughts when the term "Significant other" comes to mind? If that may be the case, the first thoughts that come to mind are you. I picture your face when the topic is brought upon me. Isn't that wonderful?

When Zero was born, the Thirteenth had not yet become the Void - however, her mother was afflicted by dark aether before her birth. This caused Zero to be born as, essentially, a hybrid of voidsent and human, though she fought to prevent the oncoming darkness throughout her life. When the Flood of Darkness did finally fully take place, Zero was thrown into a rift, and got stuck there for what - to her - felt like absolutely ages. When she finally emerged, the Thirteenth had fully become the void as it is presently known, and the excess darkness rendered her more voidsent than human (though she still retained more of her sense of self than most voidsent would, due to still being partially human).

It is a short time after escaping that rift that she meets Lorenza, who technically at this point would instead be known as Colombina ("little dove"). Colombina is known to be a very intelligent voidsent who is much stronger than she looks at first glance, and she came into being out of the darkness sometime after the Flood, just like many other voidsent. The two happen to encounter each other at a time where both are sated, so they do not initially need to fight for feeding's sake (since the voidsent are almost always aether-starved, and devour other voidsent to stave off their hunger). Zero's unique nature intrigues Colombina, and I like to think that Colombina might have been the first other voidsent Zero came across - that she was able to hold a conversation with, at least - so she ends up explaining the new way of the world to her, and so the two of them end up "teaming up" to as much of an extent as voidsent can.

Zero - though she technically would also not be known by that name at this point in time - is inspired by Colombina's more peaceable (though still cunning) way of doing things; she won't hesitate to retaliate against voidsent that try to devour her, but she also won't lash out at them purely for getting too close to her, unless they try and take advantage of her supposed docility. Together, the two end up establishing a domain that takes the form of a silent village, which becomes somewhat known as a refuge for weaker voidsent fleeing cruel masters.

The pair become close over time, but do not always spend all of their time together - one often stays in the domain to keep watch while the other hunts for aether for them both. Eventually, while Colombina is out doing this for Zero at one point, she inadvertently stumbles across the opening of a very very large voidgate, sensing vast amounts of aether on its other side. So, she decides to reach through it as myriad others do the same, including the Cloud of Darkness itself towering above her head that she honestly really doesn't care about in this moment, finding the voidgate large enough to admit her entire form rather than just her essence -

and then once she goes through it, it closes behind her.

This Starlight Celebration is beaming with holiday cheer! It always brings a smile to your face whenever you see the events going on. You spot Zero coming towards you, and notice something in her hand. Standing right next to you, you reveals the item. It's a mistletoe! She asks you about it as she doesn't know much about it. But you answer her question with a soft kiss on her lips.

It's evident that Zero doesn't much know about kisses too much. Less than the times you've kissed before... but it's sweet. A small hum leaves her voice, a soft yet gentle touch lays on your lips as the two of you apart.

"So that's what this plant is for. A kiss... I will have to take a note about this later. But thank you, Lorenza."

"When the two of us first crossed paths, all that time ago.. it was at a rare instance when both of us were quite well-sated. Such sensation was uncommon enough to be able to reach in itself, given the constant lack of aether our world and its inhabitants are faced with. So, the idea of encountering a fellow voidsent in a similar state was enough of a surprise by itself. Let alone one of such power as her - why would a princess stray from the courts?

This did, I think, spark some small manner of curiosity in me.. but she was by far the one who displayed it more outwardly. I wouldn't exactly call her enthused, by any means, but- it was clear she wished to find out more about me. Perhaps she could sense the more.. unusual part of my nature, even back then. Or perhaps something about me simply caught her eye.

So, you could say that it was Lorenza - or, Colombina, as she was known to me then - who was more drawn to me than I was her. But that was only true of the beginning. Once we had conversed, it grew clear to me that.. she was someone of the kind I would not meet again, should we part ways. And so, the selfsame desire to remain with her set in - first to sate that curiosity, and then for more than that..

3. Who in her canon is she closest to? Who would she drop everything to come help, if anyone? Who’s the person she's least close to? Who would she most likely not get along with, if anyone? - When Lorenza first initially comes to the Source, the person she's closest to would be K'pheli Tia, my friend Simon's self-insert; this is because he's the one who made a pact with her, giving up his aether in return for her support, and is therefore the reason she is hanging around on the Source in the first place. Other than him, though, her affection for Zero probably takes everyone by surprise when the two finally get to reunite on the Thirteenth, given that they'd been separated for a bit prior to that point. I can see her being fond of some of the Scions as well, over the time she would end up spending with them - Y'shtola stands out as an example, since I really like what I've read about her personality so far, even if I haven't seen much of her in-game yet. Lorenza is not generally not the sort of person to drop everything to go help someone, partially due to being so used to the transactional way the voidsent tend to do everything - she won't help unless she gets something out of it. She would have to care about someone a lot to go over and help them if helping them would be an inconvenience to her, and then probably have to justify the assistance, in that kind of denying "no it totally wasn't because i care about you" way, maybe I don't have a concrete answer for who she's least close to out of the main cast yet, but speaking in more general terms, she doesn't exactly suffer fools gladly - other people being too stupid or stubborn is a fairly easy way to get her irritated at them, and she also obviously wouldn't get on well with anyone who distrusts her for what she is despite the ways she helps the party out. Like, she definitely understands - ordinary people don't exactly tend to react well when someone shows up having made a pact with what's essentially a demon, especially given how many quests scattered across the game are to do with destroying voidsent - but that doesn't mean she has to like people who don't like her, especially when it's in an active "you are a voidsent so you must be 100% evil and about to betray us" way than just a "you're a bit scary so even though you're helping us it's hard to be around you" way.

6. Does she fight? What’s her weapon of choice? Does she stay on the sidelines? What would it take for her to get off the sidelines? Revenge? Saving a loved one? What’s the motivation for her to fight, or to stay OUT of a fight? - From a story perspective, Lorenza doesn't really fight directly I don't think, but if ever she does, her weapon would be dark magic (since, in-game, I play her as a black mage)! She mostly stays on the sidelines in battles, though that's less out of not wanting to participate in fights and more out of her role being to provide power to K'pheli who then does the actual fighting, especially after he actually properly becomes a reaper. For her to get off the sidelines would probably take either a desperate situation where she has to give all she can alongside the others, or else be a fight she herself has personal motivation in seeing won and wants to deal the death blow in. On a similar note, Lorenza prefers fighting in more underhanded ways - surprise sneak attacks, etc. - than more direct challenges to combat. It keeps her safe and gives her the opening advantage, after all!~ So, she'd be more likely to stay out of a fight if she couldn't see a way of attacking without as much risk to herself; self-preservation is important to her.
