If Robert hadn’t left when he did, then he and Aaron would have had their surrogate baby in 2019/20. Their baby would be only 2/3 years younger than Seb. So if Robert hadn’t left, then they would have been raising two kids that are close in age who would be growing up together!!!!!

I was thinking about the new set at the mill and I agree they are not going to spend all that money to just have endless scenes of Aaron and Chas talking about her cancer etc there when they could do that at the pub!. This stuff with Aaron possibly having the cancer gene combined with the Robert and seb mentions lately got me thinking if maybe Aaron finds out he has the gene so decides he won't have kids as he doesn't want to put them at risk and then seb somehow ends up coming back into his life (Rebecca dies, he comes to live with Vic at first) and they plan on seb eventually living with Aaron which would make use of the mill and set things up for a Robert return at some point also. I know it's probably going to be nothing like that as these producers are useless but it would actually give Aaron a decent storyline instead of endlessly stealing cars and being sad about Chas. Wishful thinking I know lol!.

Seb coming back would certainly be a more interesting storyline for Aaron than whatever these producers planned. I would assume though that lots of ideas and plans will be scrapped by Iain once he officially takes over. He'll want his stamp put back on the show (yes he's an improvement in lots of ways, but he comes with his own set of flaws) and his style is worlds apart from the current bunch. So we may never know what these producers long term plans for Aaron were. The multiple cancer plots have been way over done, and giving Aaron the gene is just to let Danny cry on screen and Aaron and Chas bond over trauma. Gross, gross, gross.

Seb would be tricky by himself, yes it's a soap so they can technically do what they want, but Aaron ended up with no legal rights to Seb so if he did somehow end up back in the village it would be with Vic. Of course from there they could get him with Aaron if they wanted. I do agree that there is no way they spent the money to build him a set just to stick him with Chas. I get nauseous just writing that, lol. We will see what happens. I won't be watching anything for a while. It all sounds awful and I'm just not going to subject myself to screeching Chas. I still think the long term goal is Robert/Ryan, so if Seb returns I want him coming back with Robert. I miss wanting to watch the show so I hope they do something that makes me want to come back. The current state of the show is an absolute no though so at this point it's going to take Robert to get me back.

guys chill. there's no reason for ryan to hurry back bc there's literally nothing for robert to do atm. they can't fit him into any sl and he is too big a character to simply come back to "fix" aaron, plus they are already doing that with chas, not to mention rob's return will have a bigger impact if aaron is stable and already seeing someone else (that way they can give us the ultimate fantasy aka affair 3.0) though i think it would be really funny if they threw rob into the whole caleb/kim feud as some shady contact of caleb's who is actually looking to get home farm for himself cause that's what robert always defaults to short of aaron, and then when cain finally finds out who has been helping caleb behind the scenes (bc cain always finds out innit) he goes ballistic and caleb is like "wot now?" and cain is foaming at the mouth "thats aaron's ex!" and caleb shrugs " ex-boyfriend? so?" and cain just shakes his head "no, his husband!" and then in comes robert all smug&smiles trying to hide the fucked up broken person inside ready to make everything worse for everybody :DDDDD

Oooh man,strap yourself in! Iif rewriting 2017 (and angst was needed) I'd have done the below (apologies as its long):

The ONS didn't happen, he kissed her but stopped himself.

B*x still gets pregnant from Ross, she finds out he's cheated on her, so she and Chrissie decide to punish both Ross and Robert by claiming she didn't know who the father is.

Aaron's back at this point and still vulnerable from prison. Rob can't account for where he was that night (passed out or whatever) and Adam points out B*x had been in Mill with him alone.

Chaddy and Liv are all convinced Rob cheated, they persuade Aaron. Aaron breaks up with him, he's not in a good place either.

Robert spirals quickly as he actually did nothing wrong, gets on the wrong side of Cain's fists (while trying to talk to Aaron) and ends up in hospital.

Over a few months:

Dingles turn on Robert for hurting Aaron, the Sugdens and rest of the village thinks he's vile because he's not stepping up for his unborn kid. Robert starts drinking and blacking out. Ross is a model soon to be dad in comparison.

Lawrence offers Robert his old job back as 'he's family again', and helps get him set up in Jacob's Fold.

Liv trashes Rob's house, steals his car and burns it. Cain threatens Robert if he dares report her to the police. Liv feels guilty and starts drinking.

Lachlan takes advantage of Robert's drinking and starts hurting people/damaging things (including drugging Liv) and the blame gets put on Robert, who doesn't know he didn't do it.

Robert gets arrested and released on lack of evidence, everyone thinks he's guilty anyway.

Liv ends up in hospital, Aaron meets Alex, that all happens, they get together but Aaron is just as happy as he was in canon.

Lawrence spends time trying to get Robert to step up as a father, then actually listens to him and starts doubting if the baby is Robert's. Robert tries to sort himself out.

His doubts are half because he has his weird crush, but they actually bond like normal human beings and we see what their relationship was like before Rob met Chrissie (although the canon Robrence stuff was fucking hilarious).

Robert starts coping because he loves his job and has a home of his own, he's sure that the paternity results will bring Aaron back to him. Aaron is angry/upset that Robert is back at Home Farm.

Baby is born, both Ross and Rob take paternity tests (Rob to use as proof 100% that it wasn't his, as he been denying it from the very start).

Results come back, the dingles just assume that Robert HAD doubted paternity or he wouldn't have taken the test. They still think he cheated and lied about it. Aaron agrees with them, he's exhausted and miserable and just wants to be back with Rob but can't let himself as he's not ready.

Rob has a complete, full on mental breakdown now he realises he's lost Aaron for good, even though he'd not cheated, and he's found by either Jimmy/Nicola or Vanessa, who take him to the hospital or mental health clinic.

B*x and Chrissie wonder if they went too far, Lachlan confesses the crime he did and blamed drunken Robert for, Lawrence overhears and throws them all out, he can't believe his own family would do that.

Lawrence tells Aaron and his family the truth, Aaron tries to visit at the mental health clinic but Robert won't let anyone visit. He lashes out at his family for telling him to break up with Robert.

Lawrence plans to take Lachlan, Chrissie B*x and Seb out of the country. Ross overhears and takes Seb, Lachlan crashes the car as per canon, but B*x is the only one who dies.

Ross gets custody of the baby, Lawrence gives Robert some cash as an apology. Lachlan goes to prison for everything he blamed/ set up Robert for, and the crash.

Rob comes home, Aaron offers to break up with Alex for him, Robert turns him down. He's now the one who's mentally exhausted, and unable to be with anyone until his head is sorted. He's A Wreck.

Rob goes to A LOT of therapy and starts doing up Jacob's Fold as a project. Aaron and Vic help and they both fix their relationships with Rob over some time.

I like this mainly because:

We still get the angst and break up.

Robert isn't in the wrong (he always is, in canon, and it's really fucking annoying).

I wish we'd had more Rob & Lawrence, frankly. Larry's one sided crush was great 😂.

B*x could have actually had a proactive role and stepped into being awful, instead of just being a vessel of the Plot.

We get more bitchy Chrissie, I love her.

More spiteful Liv, it's in character as she's always borderline hated Robert anyway.

We see how quickly the Dingles and Sugdens turn on Robert, and afterwards they realise they should have been nicer.

Robert. Has. An. Actual. Breakdown. And. Gets. Therapy.

It's good though, definitely better than the shitshow we actually got! I'm so torn on rebecca though. She had so much potential to be the top bitch and screw over her family before the plot made her the eternal victim of evil Robert.

Her and Robert scheming together to take down the whites would have been gold. And then they'd split Larry's money 50/50 and robron use their share for surrogacy.

Results for my Robert poll are in, and 38,3% (me included) think that Traumatized Robert is the way to go if they bring him back.

And believe me, I know the show is miserable at the moment and there is more of that to come!

However, I think we deserve to see a side to Robert we haven't really seen before, and I think Ryan deserves to play something different as well. (I tried to find an old post I did last year, about all the missed opportunities for a character driven story for Robert, but the search feature wouldn't cooperate. There were so many missed opportunities though!)

I also think it would be interesting to see how people around Robert would react, like Aaron, Victoria and Chas.

As much as I might enjoy some revenge extracted on the Posners and other various villagers, I think I got my fill of Revenge Seeking Robert in 2017. They never let him win anyway.

Plus, traumatized can mean a lot of different things at the same time, so there is nothing to say that anger or criminal activity and drug use couldn't also factor in to it. It certainly did for Aaron over the years.

And of course I want him to be reunited with Seb as well, in due time. I always have this deep rooted hope that in Seb, Robert will have someone who will love him unconditionally for the rest of his life and always see the good in him.

The drive home from Hell

Summary: after a chaotic day at the water park the drive home proves to be a challenge for Aaron and his passengers aren’t exactly helping

“I want McDonald’s” the red headed 5 year old screamed from the back of the car.

Aaron was losing the plot at this point.

“No seb I told you if you where hungry you should have eaten your hotdog!” The Dingle replied plainly.

Seb pouted his lip angrily kicking the back of his youngest dads seat in disapproval.

Aaron sighs ignoring him and continued to just focus on driving. Okay so maybe today hadn’t exactly gone to plan. I mean Getting lost on the way there,Robert falling off the water slide raft,Seb losing his shoes and Mackenzie getting badly sunburned because, He quote ‘didn’t need suncream because he already looked to hot to be burned’. Well he was certainly paying for it now.

“Ouch why do you have leather seats all they do is rub on your fragile skin!” The brunette complained rubbing his sore arm dramatically.

“We’ll next time maybe don’t be a child and listen to me!” Robert scolded Turing around with a slight smile on his face.

Aaron rolled his eyes,finding it amusing his Husband was lecturing his best friend like he was a teenager. “You know Mackenzie Roberts right we warned you this might happen” He said rather to cheerfully.

Mackenzie huffed in annoyance.

“We’ll I’m not taking advice from somebody who can’t sit properly on a rubber ring” He snapped back.

“I thought you where supposed to sit sideways!” Robert argued back angrily the street lamps outside making the bruise on his head very noticeable.

“Not on a four person waterslide you’re not!”

“Oh yeah well at least I don’t look like a walking corpse!” Robert snarked back electing a silent response from the Scotsman.

“I want McDonald’s!” Seb suddenly said again trying to get back to his point of needing fast food.

“No seb!” Aaron said again more sternly this time. The response being the usual another kick to his backseat. “Sebastian Sugden-Dingle you do that again you’re going to bed early!” the Child stopped for a moment letting what his father had said just sink in.

Yeah not going to work because he had gone straight back to kicking the backseat. “ I want McDonald’s!” he screamed again accidentally kicking Mackenzies knee instead of Aaron’s seat. The Scotsman yelped in pain as it made contact with his burned skin,despite having jeans on it still hurt his raw skin through the thin fabric.

“Ouch god dammit Aaron just let him have some McDonald’s!” He shouted clutching his leg desperately as if it was about to fall off.

“Oye don’t yell at my husband!” Robert snapped reaching from the passenger seat to snack his arm,electing another dramatic scream from the Scotsman.

“What the hell sugden!” he yelled.

“Well maybe don’t be a rude Winey brat!”

Aaron was ready to drive into a wall.

“We’ll I’d rather be a winey brat than an uncoordinated blonde!”

Am I dead Aaron thought.

“We’ll at least my skin isn’t half on the floor!”

Maybe I’m in hell?

“I want McDonald’s!”

the breaks on the car suddenly slammed. Causing everyone to jolt forward.Aaron turned his head to face all of them. Their was a chill in the air Robert and Mackenzie awkwardly looked at each other. Seb had stopped his screaming and stared straight into his youngest fathers eyes. The anger seething out of Aaron was very uncomfortable for all them.

“If I continued to hear you two bickering so help me. I will throw you so far out that window their won’t be a planet near enough for your to land on! Seb if you continue to kick my seat I will be putting you to bed so early you’ll never see the dark again! now we’re going to drive home nicely and I don’t want to hear anything for the rest of the drive home! do you understand?”

Seb went silent and Mackenzie and Robert just sat completely still.

“I SAID DO YOU UNDERSTAND!”

they all nodded not daring to speak a word.

Aaron smiled .“good now that’s cleared up let’s get moving.” He chimed Turing the radio on.

An hour later seb had started playing on his tablet while Mackenzie sat looking out the window, and Robert was happily listening to the radio. He reached out to hold his husbands hand smiling at him as he quietly fell asleep.

Finally Aaron thought I got through to them.

“Hey Aaron?” Mackenzie suddenly spoke.

“Yeah?” He replied quietly.

“could we go to burgerking?”

Nevermind…
