I'm sorry but I need to get something off my chest. Did Jeff Davis really try to kill Derek off so that Allison, a woman who has been dead for a decade whom Eli has never met and tried to kill him and his father specifically so that she can raise him? He wants us to support his ready made family? After trying to portray Scott as a perfect parent and Derek as a bad one? The only Eli Hale I want to acknowledge is in fics where him Derek & Stiles are family, fanfiction does everything better than Teen Wolf so no reason to be upset.

Unfortunately that seems to be the case. To me at least, it seems that Jeff Davis brought Allison back so that scallison can be canon again and then he decided to kill off Derek so that Allison and Scott can be a “ready made family” with Eli as you said (as if Eli doesn’t have 3 other family members he could go live with). It’s dumb lmao but who expected more from Jeff Davis? Fanfic is definitely better than canon so we’re absolutely fine here. Like you said, no reason to be upset

Do you think that Tyler Hoechlin will come back if a sequel is somehow greenlit? because it is my headcanon that since there was no physical body that Derek survives, and I didn't watch the movie.

Even if he doesn't come back, and Derek stays dead, I'm not bothered because I can just ignore what I want in the movie canon and Derek is very much alive in many new Sterek fics and that's all that matters.

All that stupid movie did is give us more material for Sterek while letting us ignore the rest.

And also, in said movie canon, they brought Allison back from the dead after like 17 years in some ritual - whose to say Derek can't come back that way, then? If we want to stay close to movie canon, we can also just do that - in fact I've seen fix-it fics with that already :D

Jeff Davis is such a mess and I didn't even watch the movie, but it sounds as ridiculous as people say. All I need is the Sterek of it all and Eli who is now their child, and I'm good.

And if you want Derek to have survived and not died at all, go for it :D The world is our oyster, or whatever haha. We haven't needed Teen Wolf canon for years and that didn't change with this stupid movie, that's for sure. You do you <3

Could you recommend me a fix it for the movie? I am trying my best not to let this movie ruin my opinion of TW (since I refuse to watch it) and I hate characters dying for no other reason than shock value.

I did not watch the movie either because I did not need that train-wreck in my life |D But yes, heard only terrible things to be honest, so I am not surprised it may have ruined a bit of your love for TW :(

Unfortunately I don't actually read in the fandom I write in, so I am not the best person to ask about fix-it fics. I wrote one, but it was an AU so not really a fix-it depending on what specifically you're looking for.

Not sure if any of my followers can recommend something, but if not have you tried browsing @wheredidhiseyebrowsgo or @christinesficrecs? They are both really good for finding lost fics or for recommendations (I believe they both have tags pages, if I'm not wrong). They will likely have an abundance of fix-it fics since I know people were writing them like mad as soon as the movie came out :)

I have a serious question, how is it that the Sterek fandom treats Tyler hoechlin's character so much better than the show and that wretched "movie" did while have superior writing?

This isn't a serious question, it sounds much like shit stirring.

It's easily explained by the fact that Sterek shippers love Derek Hale. Idk what else to say to that.

What I don't like is the word "superior", it sounds arrogant. I'd say the fandom is thoughtful, loving and imaginative.

JD lacks all those things, which explains why his writing is mediocre. And if I remember correctly, he projected his hate for his ex-boyfriend onto Derek, which isn't a secret.

Either way, take a deep breath and uncleanch your jaw. Drink some water and stop getting worked up over this old stuff. Enjoy the fanworks and support them. Ignore canon, it isn't worth getting angry over it.

i honestly cannot imagine a Teen Wolf Movie 2 being greenlit at this point—although, as stated in a previous recent ask, i am absolutely not any sort of authority when it comes to this.

as for hoechlin, i really don't know? i honestly don't read that much about the actors lives. like, i take my kids to cons and listen to the panels bc it's fun, and i enjoy saying hi at the signing tables etc (although that's becoming more of a rarity as many of the handlers have stopped letting you, unless you're paying for signatures/selfies etc, which i don't) but beyond that, i only really know what i see on here tbh. like, i don't necessarily seek stuff out, y'know? other than what projects they're working on next (but that's mostly dylan tbh!). so, i don't really know if he's talked about it or not?

but hey, who knows?

and yeah it's funny, but—for all his sins—jeff davis did kind of end up giving us canon sterek, in his own queer-yet-weird-ass-queerbaity way, didn't he? ever true to form, i guess; at least he's predicable!

as for the fix-it-fics, omg you are so right @scrumptiousbirdgardener, they are so wonderful!! ppl are so bloody talented, right? i've not (yet?) written one myself. i only tend to write oneshots—longer fic being my kryptonite—and i feel it would benefit from something a bit longer, imho, as there is SO much to fix. but maybe i'll try and expand on this wee drabble one day...
