The second of my images Commended in The Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year 2022 competition. After climbing the nearby summits of Green Lowther & Lowther Hill in thick fog, I descended to the final summit of the day; East Mount Lowther. As I descended into the col between the hills, the mist cleared to reveal this dramatic view down the Enterkin Pass towards Steygail. I really liked how the power poles descended into the mist, creating plenty of depth and intrigue. Pleased to discover that 2 of my images have been Commended in The Scottish Landscape Photographer Of The Year 2022 competition. Here's the first; an atmospheric monochrome captured at the remote and secluded Spout of Balbowie in the Fintry Hills. On a dreary morning after a night of heavy rainfall I thought this location would be worth a look after spotting it on a map. I'd never visited before so wasn't sure if it would be very photogenic, but was pleased I made the decision as it was very impressive with the double cascade contrasting against the dark rocks.
