the scitties discourse is so fucking stupid.

all of the hermits are ADULTS. they're all extremely experienced with handling a large online platform, especially with an audience that's made up of largely children and teens from the ages of 10-19.

this is their job. we are arguing over peoples fucking jobs??? these "funny skrunkly minecraft men" are adults who know what they're doing. if anyone has crossed the line, scar would have said something.

but we get it, you know, he's a disabled content creator! he needs a group of teenagers on twitter to stand up for him 🥺🥺🥺!!!1!!!1!!

also this isn't even shipping discourse. we got the fact that shipping hermits crosses boundaries years ago.

Not to discourse post or anything but probably one of the funniest things about the hermittwt situation to me is the “11 year age gap” claim (which. idk they’re minecraft characters. who give a shit.) because that age. The one that’s listed online. That’s not even Scar’s actual age though.

I don’t have a clip but it was brought up on stream a bit ago, and Scar said that one of those ‘famous birthday websites’ asked for his birthday and when he wouldn’t give them one they just. Made one up. When asked about it he just laughed and said “I’m not that old”, so the 11 year age gap claim isn’t even true, so, like, (aside from just blatantly making up boundaries CCs don’t even have) half of their argument is based on blatant misinformation. And that is so funny to me.

Okay like the whole scitties thing turning into some bonkers hermitshipping discourse over on Twitter is hilarious don't get me wrong

But like I don't understand why hermitshipping and especially shipping just contained within the life games is so controversial cause like of all the popular smps the hermits/hermit adjacent have the biggest separation between character and content creator I've seen like I have seen so much fan content and I'm not even kidding absolutely 0 has been about the youtubers no referencing to youtubing, any outside events like vidcon etc it's literally all just what the characters experience on that specific server or between two servers, no irl stuff at all

Like to the point I literally would have no clue what any of their irl names are if the ao3 tags didn't include them by default

And just compare that to the dream smp especially, shipping the actual content creators is everywhere because so many of them are inseparable from their characters because they are playing themselves in a Minecraft role play down to name and everything.

Like come on hermitcraft people we are supposed to better but then again asking the people on Twitter to think about things such a 'nuance' and 'don't infantilise a content creator because he's disabled' suddenly they can't read
