Klaroline Fic: Pendulum

Summary: This is what Klaus Mikaelson knows: death isn't the end for him. From the moment he is brought into the world to his final shuddering breath, Klaus' life is pretty much the same as everyone else's. The difference lies in what happens after he dies: he goes right back to the beginning, a child in London with the memory of dozens of lives lived before.

Nothing ever really changes, including the fact that no matter how hard he tries, he can never save Caroline Forbes' life for too long.

[AH/soulmates!AU with a slight magical twist] -- It's 9:47 in the morning when Caroline boards the train.

Klaus' lips curl involuntarily into a smile. It's a lot like seeing a movie he's already watched a thousand times, but not in a while, and yet somehow can still recall every scene, every line of dialogue, every little twist.

He knows the reason behind Caroline's panting and slightly disheveled appearance - flushed cheeks, damp clothes, wind-tousled hair. There are exactly two minutes and 26 seconds before the train is scheduled to depart. She was running late. She is always running late.

He can't tell how long it has been since the last time he witnessed this moment, not in a way that an ordinary mind might be able to grasp. Days and months and years are too small a scale for Klaus. Months and years tend to run together so easily; it's impossible to keep track.

He prefers to count in lifetimes.

Writing Update (23 July 2022)

Hey guys, I should've posted this yesterday, but found out I actually forgot to schedule it, and it still remained in my drafts. 😅

As of writing this post, the word count has reached around 14K, and it's reaching around the midway point of the chapter (at least according to my current estimation).

Also, thank you for all the asks and the enthusiasm you guys showed for MC's grandparents. In answering those asks, I have actually become a bit attached to them. I think that's the reason why I have written two flashbacks in Chapter 2 involving them; one is when MC met them for the very first time, and the other will be during Viktor's funeral flashback scene. I have decided to bring Grandpa Morozov to attend MC's 25th birthday celebration in person as well! So, I hope you guys will enjoy those scenes 😁!

Oh, and also stay tuned for the next sneak peek on Chapter 2. I might post it tomorrow, or in my case, schedule it to release in the next hours. 🎉

If you're reading this post, that means I'll currently be writing the funeral flashback scene. And I've decided to include here, the song I'll most likely be listening to, to help me get in that mood to write the emotional scene. 😔

The song's title is "Agape" by Nicholas Britell. It's an instrumental song. I also feel like this song will fit so much for the ending of the story, when MC finally able to get peace for themselves as well, after finishing their quest to find justice or vengeance for Viktor. This song also gives me the vibes of Viktor’s love for MC as well, maybe because of the title: Agape, a pure and sacrificial type of love, the love where one wants the best for the other ❤️

Sf9 preparing a surprise gift for your birthday (and failing)

Since you guys liked a lot the other reaction I made a few days ago, and as I promised, here I come with a new reaction fluffier and funnier (or at least I tried my best🙂) Hope you enjoy it❤️

Warnings 1: slight mentions of drugs but nothing serious, just sf9 being the chaotic asses they are used to be😉

Youngbin is the leader

So his inner leader comes out as soon as the idea of making a surprise gift for your birthday crosses his mind

Will have absolutely everything planned

And will freak out and stress if anything gets out of the perfect schedule he has organized

Insert stressed Youngbin meme

Has all the members threatened just in case they think about telling you a single detail about the gift

Controls himself quite a lot when you ask him 9383774 times a day about the gift (not surprising at all, I mean, he has to deal with Dawon everyday 🤪 JK)

PLUS

Controls himself quite well when you do aegyo in one of your tries of getting some information

Which is quite surprising because the kid C A N ' T resist your cuteness

Will punch a pillow afterwards in anger because he couldn't do anything about your aegyo

"Why did you have to born so late in the month that I have to suffer all of this before giving you my gift??"

Inseong

A bit messier than Youngbin but still controls the situation pretty well

Would start speaking English out of the blue when he gets nervous if you ask too much about the gift

Unlike Youngbin, instead of threatening the members to not tell you the surprise, he decides to not even tell them

So the surprise is a surprise for everyone

Until that damn day when he forgot it in the practice room after picking it up from the store

Dawon found it

And asked you if you knew what it was

The boy is sweating like he has been running a marathon as soon as he sees Dawon walking in with your gift in his hands

Stress level: Youngbin

Stutters while talking as he tries to find a good excuse

But he fails

"Istg I'd kill you if it wasn't illegal."

Jaeyoon

Oh boi

Can you see that huge smile in the pic?

Well

He'll have one even bigger plastered on his charming face as soon as he gets the idea of giving you a surprise gift

He finds hard to hide his emotions from you

Literally smiling 24/7 no matter what

Like you can be watching the saddest movie ever that he will be still smiling because he's still thinking about the gift

At some point it makes you kind of creeped out because of his behavior

Even Youngbin has asked you if he was in some kind of drug or something

"I just can't wait for you to see what I have prepared."

NERVOUS AF

Like he will be literally trembling whenever you were around

LOUD AF

He's always loud but now he's even more

Tries to hide his emotions by looking hyped

At some point, just like with Jaeyoon, Youngbin might ask you if he was under some kind of effects of drugs

Because yes, he's T O O loud

Tho he could keep the secret for 2 days 👏🏻

Give him an applause and praise him because oh lord it was so damn hard for him

Ends up spoiling the surprise by his own self when you were having a casual conversation

You didn't even asked about it

You didn't even remember your birthday was a d few days later

"Can I stop being so damn stupid?"

Rowoon

Pretty chill

Controls the situations perfectly

But unlike Inseong and Youngbin, he has nothing scheduled or plotted

Hasn't threatened the members either

A laid back kid

Wants to surprise you but won't freak out if you found out the surprise before he could give it to you

BUT

Will enjoy teasing you a lot

He knows how much you like surprises and he takes a lot of advantage of that knowledge

Maybe a bit too much but it's okay, it's Rowoon who we're talking about 🙂

Will make random and nonsense questions to see if he could tease you more about the surprise

Probably ends up spoiling the surprise himself while giving you unwanted hints

"This is your fault, you shouldn't have been listening to what I said like the other 5647 times."

Zuho

Quiet af

And when I say quiet I mean Q U I E T

Complete silence

No words coming out from his mouth in the next week

The boy is too afraid of spoiling the surprise

And if his hyung's have ever taught him something (specially Dawon and Rowoon) it is that staying in silence was the best thing he could do in situations like that

We all know how cold and intimidating Zuho can be

And that cold side we can sometimes see in him really comes out when it comes to hiding something from you

Always for good reasons

The boy is dying inside because he cannot share with you something 😭

Will communicate with you through texts and cute little notes

And you would tease him because it feels like you're a teenager receiving cringey love letters

Will probably keep quiet even after giving you the surprise not even knowing why

"Stop laughing at me. This is the only way I have for not spoiling anything."

Yoo Taeyang

Relaxed on the outside

Dying in the inside

He's like a perfect mix of everyone else

Will hide the surprise but at the same time will struggle a lot with hiding something from you

So he will talk less but at the same time will act hyped from time to time to hide his excitement about the gift

And then he will go back to his normal self like literally nothing happened

Somehow scares you because he has really weird and sudden change of emotions

You start joking about him being worst than you when you're on those days when you are a bit more sensitive

Notices that he's acting way too weird and starts freaking out thinking that you caught him

Will ask for advice to Youngbin who will gladly prepare a full schedule and the things he has to say if you asked about the gift

Youngbin once again saved his member's ass, congratulations

The only one managing to give you the surprise correctly along with Youngbin

Similar with Zuho

We all know how shy Hwiyoung can sometimes be and this is not an exception

Why is he shy about giving you a surprise? I have no idea, go ask him

Good luck with getting him to talk with you about anything related with your birthday

Not even about the color you should use to decorate the house

Not even the flavor of the fanta you will be serving

Get ready for blushy Hwi for the next week 🤧

Makes random and sudden moves of clinginess that makes you suspect that something's wrong

The kid is nervous af and has no idea of how to control his emotions

Definitely will look all cool whenever you're around (he's an actor after all)

But as soon as you disappear his mental breakdown storms

Too many questions clouds his mind about how the hell is he going to hide something from you

Feels so bad about lying to you whenever you asked what he has been doing and he couldn't say he was preparing your gift

Also gets frustrated when you do aegyo to win some hints and he can't react, just like Youngbin

At some point, the pressure is way too much

He can't stand it anymore

And when you ask him for the 648388 time about his day

He ends up telling you about the surprise that is not a surprise anymore

"How could I keep lying to you?? Do you know how bad I felt??" please protect this baby 😭
