13. Describe your writing process from idea to polished

Oh Ru my process is going to make you cringe because it’s so chaotic LMAO

I normally have an idea (like mandalorian bakugo) get one scene for it, write than scene out then outline and writer from that starting point LOL

Sometimes I do very ✨linear✨ if the idea is shorter and more of Drabble ficlet type route but a lot of the times it is jsut vibes and write what comes to me beyxvsuskskushd I’m SORRY 🫠

30. Favourite idea you haven’t started on yet

I think about you all the time grotesque forest creature Izuku Midoriya and maybe one day ONE DAY I’ll start it 😭

Oh my little lit major ass is shaking over this question lol

Gloria Anzaldúa is a HUGE influence for me with how she blended culture, poetics, supernatural elements, and personal heart into her rhetoric and storytelling

I recently just got into Stephen Graham Jones’s writing and he’s already inspired me so much

And I know this is my classic am lit classes coming out but Nathaniel Hawthorne & Herman Melville influence me so fucking much because here were these old ass 19th century writers that literally said “yeah write the wackiest reconstructive religious and kind of weird thing you want” and they did and that still sticks with me lol

Omg so this is a tie for Pedro boys and I already feel so 😭🫣 about my answers but -

Javi Peña & Marcus Pike are my ultimate favs to write (I’m sorry Din & Joel lol)

38. Weirdest story idea you’ve ever had

So my monster cowboy Din fic was a weird one because it really was me squishing together my love for the desert/cowboys & then monsters to create that weird story lol

But also the fic idea for monstrous god of the apocalypse!Joel is…a really weird and kinda out there idea too that im still even contemplating going through with lol

31. Least favourite part of writing

Ooo it’s a tie between sometimes plotting out the fic entirely (there’s times when an idea really is just vibes and one single thought so building off from that is a bit frustrating & annoying sometimes lol)

And endings! UGH endings sometimes have stopped me in my writing tracks sometimes rip 😭

41. Any advice for new/beginning/young writers?

This is such a good one!!

My main advice would be just to make the jump - if you’re worried about posting for the first time or maybe even a writing certain new fic idea, sometimes you just need to say “okay fuck it” and take the plunge

I waited so long before I really began writing and posting again and that fear of not knowing if a fic would be well received or even if I was a good enough writer held me back so much

But then remembering that this is for fun, and that everyone who wants to genuinely create deserves a space to enjoy that helped me so much to just dive in and finally post

So I guess my advice would be just to embrace that this is for fun and that you deserve to write and just jump in! (If this makes any sense omfg)

44. How much research do you do?

I like to think I do enough but then feel like I should be doing more lmao 🫠

Like for example - the rodeo series, I had to brush up on my rodeo terminology, watched so many old clips, and even asked my mom plenty of times about the different competitions and even then I still felt like I didn’t dive in deep enough or wish I could’ve gone into more detail /:

But that’s the struggle of it all ya know? 😭

part of accepting love for me also requires accepting grief, dissolution. my pets will die, my friends may drift from me, lovers may have a change of heart. none of it makes the love in vain. part of accepting love is accepting movement. but love is mostly letting myself get lost in the moment, i am learning. letting myself be fully alive in the now. i dont always need to think that far ahead all the time. the potential exists now.

Javi P and Mermaid!Reader or aka some good old fashioned forbidden love with a large side of Javi having a existential crisis about loving this mythical being he didn’t even believed existed while we simply are just swimming around this handsome human with stars in our eyes ✨

So it’s mainly inspired by my trips to the Texas coastline and thinking how murky the water was sometimes i imagined there just HAD to be mermaids hiding in there lol plus I’ve never done a mermaid fic and for mer-may approaching I thought why not dip my toes in the water (sorry I had to make the pun)

And also - Javi P isn’t a Pedro boy we often see in supernatural situations yet I really one do believe he’s one of the best to explore in more fantasy/magical/supernatural elements and this smacks him face to face with that!

There’s a part of me that wanted to go a more angsty and tragic route with this but I think ultimately us and Javi deserve the sweet fantasy fairy tale of your dreams sometimes ya know??
