Regressor!Adam + Caregiver!Lawrence moodboards !

These weren’t requests or anything, but I’ve been meaning to make them for a while now! I have thought about the two of them experiencing this dynamic a bunch, too, and while they both are a bit rocky when it comes to experiencing Adam’s regression/being as helpful as Lawrence can be, they learned how to make it work for the both of them to be mutually helpful.

Some headcanons!!

- Adam regresses largely due to unresolved stuff from his childhood that was sorta exacerbated by everything from the bathroom (and, well, the bathroom experience itself)

- Lawrence falls in line with caregiving due to his own familial relationships; where he found himself lacking here and there because he was too focused on anything else, he tries doubly hard to make up for it with both Diana and Adam after escaping the bathroom

- Adam didn’t deliberately tell Lawrence about this, mostly because it came on so suddenly afterwards. He was hesitant to let Lawrence help for a lot of reasons, but found that this was one thing that having someone to rely on definitely was useful

- Lawrence is very much afraid of doing the “wrong” thing when it comes to caregiving; over time the worries dwindle, but for a little while he would fall into this sort of distanced caregiving in fear of being too much or doing something incorrectly (he stopped when he realized Adam felt bothered by this approach)

- Adam definitely pushes his limits pretty often, which is a good test of Lawrence’s patience (he’s very patient when it comes to Adam)

- On particularly rough days, Adam and Lawrence will sequester themselves away in their home, content to spend the day regressed or taking care of each other (it helps Adam feel secure and helps Lawrence feel a bit more grounded)

- Adam absolutely loves to pretend he’s a vet and will steal any equipment he can off of Lawrence to do so

These all come with the idea that they all survived and are happy cuz hehe

• Amanda Young - Little

-She regressed even before the events of Saw

-Mostly a trauma regressor, especially after her first test

-Her and Adam like play dates

-Her main cg is Mark

• Adam Stanheight - Little

-Trauma Regressor

-Regresses basically everyday, he is very often in that headspace and it’s rare for him to be big for longer than a couple hours

-His cg is Lawrence, and Lawrence is the only person he’s comfortable with

-Being with Lawrence makes him feel very tiny

-Play dates with Amanda

-Definitely nonverbal when regressed

• Lawrence Gordon - CG

-Being a dad is just in his dna

-He is nearly always in papa mode, specially when around Adam

-Ridiculously protective over Adam

• Mark Hoffman - Flip

-80% of the time he is a cg, taking care of Amanda, and is very good at it since he took care of his sister so much

-The other 20% he spends hiding in his room

-When regressed it’s mostly because he’s thinking about his sister and all the childhood memories, and getting sad about his sister doesn’t help much

-Sometimes he lets Lawrence care for him, if he’s feeling extra small, cuz Lawrence just can’t resist taking care of a little

-He switched between either nonverbal or very very very verbal

• Peter Strahm - CG

-Doesn’t really know what agere is, he just knows that sometimes Mark feels small

-He’s good at handling it, not perfect but then again no caregiver is

-Enjoys listening to Mark babble

• John Kramer - Babysitter

-The only ones the littles feel safe around other than their cgs is John

-He wanted to be a dad so badly

-He especially loves caring for Mark and Amanda they’re his kids now

-Adam is only under his care if Lawrence absolutely can not take care of him and it’s no longer than a few hours

• Mallick Scott - Little

-He started regressing around when the fire happened, he didn’t understand it at first but it provided an escape for him

-During his test with Brit when they were the last two he actually regressed for a bit before they did the last test

-All Brit has to do is say “baby” in such a sweet and caring voice and he’s instantly small

• Brit Stevenson - CG

-Loves loves loves taking care of Mallick

-After he accidentally regressed in the test she realized just how much she loved caring for him

-When they both recovered they moved in together and she takes care of him all the time now

Adam (Saw 2004) agere hcs!

(ft. cg lawrence :> also in my brain adam got out and eventually him and lawrence reconnected)

- adam trauma regresses due to the bathroom, as well as unresolved childhood trauma

- he has two modes: 3yo and 6-8yo. his regression to 3yo is always involuntary and mostly impure, whereas his regression to 6-8yo is mostly involuntary and largely pure

- when regressed to 3yo, he’s usually nonverbal except for asking for lawrence, and he always needs to be physically holding onto lawrence in some way (he’s scared that if he doesn’t, lawrence will leave or slip away - the abandonment issues come out very strong when he’s small)

- he has random crying jags and is much more susceptible to panic attacks than usual

- he likes being in lawrence’s lap while he works, wearing lawrence’s clothes that fit him big, and having music on

- when he’s asked his age he sticks out three fingers

- very pouty. when cuddling he needs to get physically close to the other person with as much skin to skin contact as possible

- being this little allows lawrence to take care of him in ways adam would never otherwise allow, like getting him to eat by cutting up his food into little shapes or doing the airplane

- the first times he regressed, it was alone in his room during ptsd episodes, and he just lumped the experience into “weird things that happen now bc of the bathroom”

- but then it happens in front of lawrence, and he tries really hard to hold onto being big, and eventually runs away - lawrence, of course, does research and stumbles across age regression (in a medical journal about trauma reactions or something like that..)

- the next time it happens in front of him, lawrence is adequately prepared, and talks adam down. the rest is history

- when he’s 6-8, adam is hyper-verbal. very active but also very quick to get moody (and storm off and slam some doors)

- the best way to deal with this is to be firm but gentle. if you start threatening and punishing, he gets violent (as violent as a 6 year old can be.. this mostly involves throwing toys and banging his head) or shuts down completely (lawrence learns this the hard way), so he needs someone authoritative but calm

- there are no bounds to the toys he likes. hotwheels, doctor play sets, princess gowns, it’s all fair game

- such a fan of horror movies and spooky things

- this is the headspace that most easily lets him communicate what he needs, because when he’s big he’s way more reserved, and when he’s younger he can’t verbally express things

- big on physical touch and likes to cling to sleeves and shirt hems

- lawrence calls him “sweetheart” and “sweet pea” and when he’s very small, “baby”

- adam usually calls lawrence “lah” because he can’t pronounce lawrence’s full name, but sometimes lawrence gets a “papa”
