Where in Tikal's case, she and Chaos would try to flood Scourge's kingdom, believing war to be the only correct solution to problems.

A peek at Tikal's AU design. SA1's events are the same 'cept she's not a child. She was outnumbered but not weak. In fact I think Knuckles inherited his own strength from her in this timeline so please picture at least a few soldiers slapped around.

I also like the thought that the bright red fur is a trait that started with her. I know her dad was brown, but most of the other echidnas were shades of pink (which I'm gonna go absolutely feral with in the future) Oh yeah Knuckles is a direct descendant in this, I know it's not canon, that's why it's an AU :U

Her whole body is sketched out already but my hand started to hurt so I slapped in a color palette that felt warm and regal and called it a day for now.

Omochao & Metaos (Metal Sonic x Chaos0)

A robotic chao, or a metallic one, probably would be the closest to a metaos shipchild. Which, surprisingly, there is a cannonical character that fits that definition! Its omochao. (Not to mention the reflective chao, which look metalic.)

Also, i dont even know if eggman made omochao. The little guy appeared into existance one day in sa1, and we dont question it because its omochao. What random dude took a look at chao and went "yup, you need to be a marketable wikihow bot" and everyone just rolled with it?

They dont have lips, so the equivalent of lipstick kisses must be like.. sticker and stamps. Red crayon doodles of heart on a forehead. Little flower petals stuck on the watery head.

Im guessing this is like.. day 3 of drawing metaos now? I started this because i wanted to understand the characters more and get a sense of their interactions outside of my fanfic, but it seems this has spiralled into a daily need to draw metal sonic and chaos 0 together, just.. constantly.

So… I’ve been thinking.

Shadow’s immortality has always been a subject of interest to me. There’s no one neat definition that ‘immortality’ fits into and so until otherwise given frame and limitations, it’s very ambiguous.

Is it a pristine immortality, where they will never age?

Is it a limited immortality, where they age very slowly and in a fundamentally different way than regular people?

Is it a conditional immortality, where they will live longer and age slower, but those bonuses are dictated by how often a regenerative factor is needed, or how often they are in contact with Chaos Energy?

But then, I was listening to Dawson’s Christian by Ernie Mansfield, Leslie Fish, and Vic Tyler, and I realized there is a fourth option I had not considered.

Is it an immortality of the soul, long after the corporal form has ceased to be?

In Sonic Battle, Rouge tells Shadow that Gerald gave him ‘Maria’s Soul.’ … We’ve no idea what that means. (We also don’t know how seriously to take Rouge in regards to Gerald since we don’t know what information she is privy to and as such cannot judge the quality.) You could take it literally, you could take it figuratively, you could do a lot of things, and each one has its own implications.

But for the sake of this headcanon…

I think Shadow’s soul is immortal.

No matter what happens to him, if there’s enough of a body to come back to, he’ll live. If there is no body left to come back to, or the body is no longer salvageable/viable, he will go on without it. The guy runs on Chaos Energy, and we’ve seen Chaos energy do strange, wonderful, terrible things. We also know for a fact that ghosts exist within Sonic’s world (SA1 and SA2 are the examples that come to mind).

However you think their immortality would or would not affect their body, would or would not affect their ability to physically age, the soul would continue on after and continue to do the job Shadow has taken upon themself, which is to protect the world.

What would this look like? Oh man. I can’t draw, so for those who need a visual of what is swirling around my head before I give a written description, I point you to these two very, very talented individuals who have inspired me with their art.These designs I’m linking come with their own lore, or the lore is being developed. I am not claiming them to use here, merely pointing towards them as an example of something akin to what I’m mulling over. @soloiho has an amazing design called Black Hole Shadow which is positively ghastly, whereas @redsunlight has a very interesting design for their lore called Prismatic AU which utilizes all the different colors of the chaos emeralds due to Shadow crushing them all for reasons detailed in their story.

In my mind, I see Shadow - for clarity’s sake let’s call it Wraith Shadow - as pitch black. There is no noticeable muzzle. You can’t even see his mouth. Where his hands and feet would be sort of becomes whispy and fades into nothingness unless he requires a limb to be solid (like to kick someone in the face, he’d need a foot, right?)

The only change in color you would see would be the light that emanates from where his red stripes use to be, from his eye sockets, and a swirling dark hole where his chest fur used to be. If he opens his mouth, there is light there too. When he moves his limbs with purpose, to attack or gesture or anything of that nature, there is a light trail that drifts from them. The light would be brighter when experiencing intense emotions and fainter when not. They very, very rarely speak. It requires a very special person or situation for them to be so moved as to do so. They can touch without the intention of causing harm, but it feels like running into very dense, warm air.

What color other than the darkness is there? Reds and oranges, like in the old SA2 style. Maybe even with a translucent sort of grainy texture, like looking at space dust.

And please make no mistake- Wraith Shadow is the most boiled-down components of Shadow, all of the critical best and worst parts smashed together and concentrated. You thought they were bad before, it’s about to get ten times worse. I’ve always thought that the main motivating components for Shadow were Love and Spite and they’ve been cranked up to 300% of what they were when alive.

And they’re not happy about this situation, not at all. Upon no longer being able to inhabit their physical form, which Wraith Shadow had assumed would mean that FINALLY they die, they are understandably upset because they know now there is no rest for them.

There will never be rest for them.

As such, though they fight for Justice, and Hope, and Mercy, they are not a pleasant thing. You do not WANT to run into Wraith Shadow. If they show up, it’s bad, and more likely than not, you would have died had they not shown up… but maybe that would be preferable than having to live with what you just saw.

When they are not doing their duty to protect the Earth, an unfortunate or unwise trespasser may find them haunting the halls of the ARK, or passing through the remains of a garden where the lavender bushes are massive and the roses are overgrown.

More likely than not, however, you’ll probably catch them sulking about the Master Emerald shrine and deep below the earth where the chaos emeralds sit and gather dust in their ancient chamber.

After the last protector passes away, someone has to do it after all.

there actually is no real name to the au, it's just referred to as "lay's" by me and my friend because it's a combination of our names.... it started by us calling any compilation of hcs we had for anything by "lay's canon" LMAO (whereas our other au DOES have a name, which is called renegade!) ; the name without the explanation doesn't make sense, which is why I tag it all under "au stuff" (tho if I get around to it one day I may go back and edit the tags HAHA)

the timeline is --

1, cd, 2, 3, sa1, sa2, 06 + rush, forces, frontiers. the games span from when sonic is 14-15ish to when he is 24

NOT THE ONLY. As far as I'm aware, unless some kind of revelation hits me, Amy gets through okay, and Sonic still lives (in a way). Admittedly Knuckles is kind of a 50/50-- just cause his arc isn't written out yet. Whatever happens, i want him to be even more tightly involved with chaos in the sa1 arc... I dunno. I know i don't want more than 3 people to kick the bucket before Sonic does his big fuck you kyuubey chaos control, but I DO know i want him to be pretty isolated from the others by that point. not like physically, but he would be less open about what he knows now, and what he's planning to do

Holy shit, this blog has been around for a whole fucking year? How crazy is that? Well, I don’t have much for art to share this day, but I can share some information that I haven’t shared before! As a treat to you all!

Sonic.Smile- Smile’s fav character is actually Knuckles. He thinks he’s funny

LOSTKING.EXE- Scourge can’t stay in a universe for more than 48 hours. The void is his home

HungryHero.EXE- Sonic’s favourite type of mobians are (strangely) hedgehogs/in the hedgehog family (Shrews, moonrats, and moles)

STH.EXE- despite being a retelling of the classic Sonic.EXE story, STH knows he’s not exactly real and knows about practically every fanmade EXE

Adventure.launch- the AU’s name is based on the name of the launch file of SA1 on PC. The Judge’s design is based on lost silver’s design, specifically from Monochrome

Mascot Sonic- mascot likes small jingles, like the ones from an ice cream truck

ProjectFreedom- what kickstarted the au was this dub of the comic Sonic Execution (very gruesome but very well done)

I need to know more about the Team Eggman!Amy AU!

hey! thanks for the ask! it means a lot that people care about this au waaah :' ) i thought id go more in depth about the egg family dynamics!

as i said before, amy sees eggman as her father. he knows this and actively encourages this behaviour bcs he believes she will be more loyal to him bcs if it. if he actually cares about her to any degree is up to debate

amy has no memories of the brainwashing eggman did on her, so she believes she has been with him her whole life

orbot and cubot are like her older brothers. she gets on with them really well, often wanting to play and mess around with them. orbot and cubot love having her around and will often slack on their duties to hang out with her.

whilst amy is closest to orbot and cubot, she sees all the badniks as her siblings and is very protective over them. she hates seeing team sonic destroy them. she is the one to fix them up after battles because she knows eggman will just throw away their parts to make stronger badniks (if u know the mania short where she takes metal back to eggman, its a lot like that)

eggman often delegates any caring responsibilities of amy to orbot and cubot (for example making her meals etc).

much of amys motivations come from trying to get eggmans attention. that is part of the reason she is desperate to destroy sonic, so she can get that sweet ol father approval

amy has a....complicated relationship with metal. she sees him as a brother but subconsciously is wary of him (she doesnt remember the events of sonic cd but it is still deep in her subconscious). doesnt help that metal is the reason she lost her arm.

tbh metal and amy have a very strong sibling rivalry. she sees him as competition for eggmans attention and also she wants to be the one to take down sonic, so she finds him annoying

metal and amy argue and bicker a lot. shes lived with him long enough to understand his beeps and boops so to an outsider it would look like shes arguing with herself

i do want to write a scene where metal has sonic pinned down and is about to go for the finishing blow but amy comes in and knocks metal away, saving sonics life. she is really confused on why she did that and chalks it up to being the one who wants to end sonic, not metal (she is lying to herself lol)

im keeping her friendship with gamma from sa1 but the story will change slightly from the game. im still working on details but it will be extremely important in her character development and will be one of the stepping stones towards her reform
