#rudy and clyde au
I loved how badass clyde was in the recapture au!!!
but imagine if he could captured again by Mason and he was just the most defiant pet ever, and showing off his smartness to Mason
Clyde would be spitting up blood levels of defiant if he got captured again. Mason would be beside himself because Clyde total destroys his reality. Rudy comes back and cries and finds comfort in the only structure he’s even known, and Mason is so smug and self important about it.
Clyde comes back and doesn’t budge a fucking inch and mason can’t figure it out.
…. Rudy was the shelter pet, the rescue case, the mutt. Clyde was QUALITY. what on earth HAPPENED

So I've been having this idea on an alternative universe dark!Rudy au
But not like the Rudy x reader but Rudy's evil and he abuses you haha! Kind of way.
Rather,
The story I've been thinking of goes something like this:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rodolfo Rudy, in his youth, was kidnapped by a cartel due to accidentally becoming a witness to a murder. His tortured ruthlessly and cannot escape but while still in captivity he catches the eye of a rival narco.
The narco, who is like a kind of super sadistic killer for a rival cartel takes Rudy in but instead of abusing him like the other narcos, the narco takes care of him and helps him heal, feeling a kind of connection to Rudy, an unexplored darkness and emptiness only the two of them share.
They end up falling madly in love and having a kind of Bonnie And Clyde romance during Rudy's early twenties. But eventually the narco crosses some kind of moral line, does something particularly horrible and Rudy realizes that while his lover is good to him that doesn't mean they're a good person.
So the two of them break up and Rudy follows canon for a while, joining the military and the Los Vanqueros and even starts dating Alejandro, although on the down low. He also keeps his dark past a secret from everyone.
Now it's been about a decade since Rudy last saw his ex but the narco reemergences as a fellow soldier from a recent collaboration. The thing is, the narco is now a dirty cop and still working for the cartels but Rudy can't tell anyone unless his own identity and past misdeeds are exposed.
His ex is also becoming increasingly aggressive with him and while his relationship with Alejandro has recently started to sour, he feels drawn to his ex again, having missed them immensely.
Still Rudy decides to try to find evidence of his exes traitorous behavior that would not require him being the one to expose them. Something that requires he spend more time with them, making his emotions turn on him as he finds himself craving them again.
Alejandro picks up on that fact and their already turbulent relationship starts to decline even further as Alejandro's possessiveness increases, driving a more closed-off and independent Rudy than we usually see further away from him, and closer to the narco.
If that wasn't enough, new threats emerge (Valeria gaining a shit ton of power cause canon did her wrong ahem ahem) and the Los Vanqueros are threatened on all sides having only eachother to rely on, paranoia increasing as they become more and more aware of a spy among them. Although if Rudy will speak up or incriminate himself further trying to keep all his secrets is up to him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
[What do y'all think? Feel free to use this for whatever lol but I'd love it if you tagged me if you do cause I wanna see it.]

What character do you wish to see whumped more in canon/fan-made media?
this question seems more geared toward fandom whump, but i pretty much exclusively do OC whump, so i'm just gonna ignore the "canon/fan-made" bit.
so what kind of character do i want to see whumped more? WHUMPERS. whumper-turned-whumpee is one of my favorite tropes of all time, and i will never get tired of it, ever. whump the whumpers in canon, whump 'em in an AU, i want to see them vulnerable!!!
here are some whumpers who i would most love to see on the other side of the knife-or-what-have-you, whether in canon or in an AU, and i have imagined so in my little head:
Ciaran and Marcus from Cat and Mouse by @t0rture-me - i just think it would be fun if they got caught by hunters, especially Ciaran :) hehehe
Logan from Riot Kings by @befuddled-calico-whump - ever since Logan won this poll, i have been giddy with anticipation
Mason from Brody and Rudy & Clyde by @just-a-whumping-racoon-with-wifi - you know this piece, the first chapter of the Rudy & Clyde side-stories? after more than two years, i will admit... i was this anon. this was when i was still a lurker, before i made my own whump blog. surprise! still love that one, GO CHARLIE
Nick from Magnanimous Moonrise & Savage Sunset by @not-a-space-alien - whumpee-turned-whumper characters are fascinating to me. Nick's past has been alluded to, but i would love to see him facing a vampire who's an actual threat. well- i mean, i guess i will in upcoming chapters :)
The Jeweler from The Jewelry Box by @whump-me-all-night-long - this was probably the first whumper i ever thought "huh, what would he be like as a whumpee?" about
Ve'Qren from Blood Sacrifices by @dismemberment-on-a-tuesday-night - bram you already know my obsession with this concept (sorry ve'qren it's because i love and and am fascinated by you)
Victor from the wonderful mind of @lost-in-labradorite-halls - the more powerful a whumper is, the more i wanna see 'em get whumped
Vince from Shattered by @oddsconvert - he has sooooo much pride i just wanna squeeze him
and not sure if this one counts because he already has a whole whumper-turned-whumpee AU for him, but:
Kasia from Tomas and Rowe by @whumpzone - the Pet Kasia AU will always have my heart

Mason Takes Custody of Apple AU
Y'all have no idea how much I love AUs like this lol. *cracks knuckles* Okay so-
Quick CW: Begging, food mention, implied touch starvation/lack of attention, jealousy, mentioned past starvation, neglect, pet whump, Stockholm Syndrome
Last Day At Clay’s
Let’s say Mason does get Apple removed from Clay’s. Apple of course begged and pleaded to stay, but Clay wasn’t having it and, well, Apple’s feeling pretty lucky he at least got to stay with Mason, someone who clearly cares about him and his wellbeing. It hurts a little that he’s not Clay, but Apple can pretend.
Saying goodbye to Benji is hard (though they certainly wanted something like this for Apple) and saying goodbye to Clay is way harder. But Clay doesn’t let it last and Mason probably doesn’t either, and it’s easy to pack for Mason’s because the only things he really owns are a few oversized clothes and a toothbrush Clay gave him that he’s had for years. I like to think Mason got rid of that for him pretty fast, A) because dental health is important and that thing should’ve been replaced ages ago, and B) to get rid of the things that remind Apple of Clay. It’ll be easier that way.
At Mason’s
Luckily Apple doesn’t have many bad habits to unlearn. He’s quiet and helpful and pretty obedient for the most part. Of course, there’s the health problems to fix though. I have no clue how Mason would go about getting Apple on a healthy eating schedule (which shouldn’t be too hard aside from some stomach problems he might have from not eating enough), but the malnourishment and weakness would have to be dealt with eventually--even though Apple makes a point of showing he can be good and behave even feeling badly!
He’s not sure what kind of chores he’s supposed to do at Mason’s, so he’d try to do them all. He’d try not to ask questions, and if he was hungry or tired, he wouldn’t say anything about it. He wants to be extra good for Master Mason after all, and if Apple knows anything, it’s that owners like their pets quiet, out of the way, and helpful. :)
Rudy and Clyde
Apple’s pretty good with Rudy and Clyde, if not kinda shy at first. It’s a little weird seeing pets that are so happy and obedient, and that makes him think things will be pretty good here! Except... seeing Rudy and Clyde so happy together and so close is kind of hard, and they know a lot more about Mason’s household and rules than Apple does, so it feels like they’re always one step ahead and one step closer to receiving Mason’s affection.
So Apple gets kind of jealous. He might ignore Rudy and Clyde sometimes just because that’s how he copes when he gets upset, and he might try begging for affection from Mason when he thinks he’s not being good enough to earn it compared to Rudy and Clyde; Mason does seem pretty giving after all! He seems to like actually liking his pets. Maybe, when Apple’s feeling especially down or inadequate, he might do deliberately bad things to be punished because at least that’s attention. I think if Apple started doing that though, Mason would do the opposite. No hands-on punishments, more like time-outs and no interaction. (Feel free to add on though, the thought of Mason giving Apple punishments for his behavior is very fun for me >:)))  )
He’d really miss Benji at these times, because they were there for Apple when things could get pretty awful. I don’t doubt when he’s feeling particularly lonely, Apple would cry quietly at night about how much he misses Benji and now Ex-Master Clay.
Overall
Overall Apple would learn the rules of the house pretty quick, even if they weren’t what he expected. He’d probably always be worried about being second to Rudy and Clyde and he’d never lose his love for Clay, but all Mason’s rules and the fact that he’s a decent pet owner would help dull it just a little. :3

Au thoughts:
Since there are so many versions of comic book characters and their life stories, its kinda hard to figure out what i wanna mash into my au. I think it would be helpful to lay out some simple back ground beats. Plus, if anyone has seen any of my other writing, its easy to tell that Im addicted to world building and I have no self control. SO to keep this from being annoying and long if your just scrolling, Weather Master’s past Pre-Thundersnow is below the cut. (I’ll work on this kinda thing for the others especially if people are interested by this)
Escaped a prison truck and found his brother dead (Clyde Mardon)
Clyde was inventing the weather wand and was almost done when someone put out a hit, wanting to stop Clyde from achieving his research.
Mark finished the research, gaining the wand and swearing revenge.
He starts to commit crimes using the wand, often getting stopped by the flash.
He joins up with the Rogues a few months into his career finding more success with them
They also help him start looking into who had killed his brother
Mark finds that Hartley reminds him a lot of his brother and warms up to the teen faster than the others. ( Hartley is smart and driven, with ideas for how to create constantly pouring out) He also likes the teens music taste and what hartley composes
He finds out that a rival scientist (rudy younge) had put out the hit on his brother because the man had been jealous of his success. (this is dc this sorta thing happens)
When he finds the scientist, Mark loses control, with the weather going insane, sticking Central in a mix of blizzard, tornado, and lightning storm.
Rudy Younge is in a block of ice, alive but just barley
Flash tries to calm him down, but fails. So then he comes up with a plan with cold to get him and Piper into the middle of the storm (because flash is the only one fast enough to run past the winds)
Piper uses his amplifiers to call out to the weather wizard while cold creates a wall of ice to protect them from being blown away by the wind
Weather wizard slowly returns to himself with the storm dissipating into a light rainfall
Captain cold, who knows what it’s like to care about a sibling offers to have the rogues turn the other way for this one kill
Mark considers it. Takes a breath. And then shakes his head.
His brother is gone. And he misses him. But he has a new family. And they had a few rules.
He hands over all the evidence to the flash and then makes a promise that if the man ever hits the streets again, he would kill him.
He returns home with his family and they eat chicken quesadillas for dinner, his favorite food.

C-can we see excessively cruel Mason?
If mason was excessively cruel, Clyde would have disassociated years ago. You almost never hear him speak, very rare to see him with any expression whatsoever. He doesn’t have any affection for Mason, just an attitude of “well I’m used to this.” He’s still favored, though, much more blatantly in this AU. Only the most egregious mistakes result in punishment for Clyde. Why does he stay? Oh we all know.
It’s Rudy.
Poor Rudy. He’s absolutely desperate for Masons approval, and gets it very sparingly. On purpose. Mason knows exactly what he’s doing and why he’s doing it. And it amuses him.
It’s very much a “has” and “has not” situation for the boys in this AU. Clyde lives under the assumption that he has what he needs (food, Water, sleep, affection/interaction) unless he misbehaves. Rudy lives under the assumption that those things above are earned. On a continus basis.
Mason doesn’t mind the times when Clyde sits by Rudy’s kennel. Of course he’s not permitted to bring him food or water, but sometimes he’ll be allowed bandages.
Perhaps it will finally convince Rudy to actually try (he does. He tries so hard but it will never ever be enough for Mason and Clyde knows it.)

oh? Racoon wants to write about vamp!Rudy? Then, what about this? Do you know that thing cats do when they show you their belly but its not an invitation to rub? What if Rudy is trying to be a little playful with Mason? To amuse him, maybe. But when he´s trying to baby talk to him using those strange sounds vamps do and makes Rudy uncomfortable, Rudy accidentally bites on Mason real hard and ends up sucking him a bit? What about a muzzled vampire Rudy that´s anxious about biting again, so the muzzle *should* stay on? Or something. But one thing: Very guilty and muzzled Rudy.
So I looked up why cats show their bellies and went with a combination of affection/submission for my Critters. Should Mason recognize why Rudy’s doing this since he’s such a professional? Yes.
TW: Nonhuman whumpees, pet whump, broken jaw.
~~
It was clearly a toy, made out of wood and plastic but it was fun to play with. When one little plastic mouse was pushed down into a green wooden block, another would pop up. There were only a few mice that cycled through a pattern, but it was satisfying to sit and just endlessly push them down. Clyde had gotten bored of it ages ago and wandered off to another part of the basement, but Rudy was more than content to sit and fiddle with it.
Eventually, Rudy heard the lock turning at the top of the stairs that meant the Man was coming down. That was important enough to draw his attention, picking up the mouse toy and taking it with him to the main room in the basement.
The enclosure here was very nice - far nicer than the one at the store. It was so much bigger, with warm toned lights that didn’t hurt their eyes and places to hide. Clyde was perched at the highest point of the wall climber, slowly peeling the paint off the wall with his nails.
The Man sat down on one of the chairs in the main space, speaking slowly enough for them to understand most of what he was saying. Rudy liked him, he was nice. He gave them food and space, even if he did touch them a lot. It wasn’t like being groomed by a denmate because it never accomplished anything. He’d tell them such strange things that way - a tap on the hands to tell them to stay, immediately followed by a brush on the elbow urging them to pull to the left. Everything was jumbled and made no sense. Rudy quickly figured out the human didn’t know what he was doing, but that didn’t mean he hadn’t spent a whole day hiding in fear and confusion after he was told to from a pat on the head. Clyde had had to come get him out.
But now he understood the man better, lingering a few feet away while he still played around with the mouse toy. Just on instinct, he rounded his back when the man walked past.
What he never expected was the human’s stumpy little claws running down his spine.
Rudy arched forward with a sharp yelp, the sudden spike of fear putting every sense on high alert. Before he even knew what he was doing, he had twisted around and sunk his fangs into the human’s forearm.
Mason cursed loudly when he felt the sharp teeth gripping his skin. Shit, what the hell?
“Rudy, release!” he shouted, grabbing the vampire’s throat to try and push it off. It didn’t help, incisors digging even further in at the resistance. Mason cursed again and used his bodyweight to take them both to the ground. Sitting on the vampire’s stomach with his knees pressing down its hands, he tried again to pry it off.
“Shit Rudy, fucking let go.”
The vampire squinted at him and made another one of those weird chittering noises in the back of its throat. Did it think it was playing? It was latched on for a lot longer than he was comfortable with, and Mason was not interested in his vampire discovering it liked human blood after a steady diet of animal.
Feeling like he didn’t have another choice, he gripped the vampire’s jaw with his free hand and squeezed.
While the snap wasn’t loud, he felt it through his fingers. Mason was able to release his arm in just a moment.
Rudy scampered back until his back was against a wall, hands coming up to cup his jaw. It hurt, it hurt so badly but the sensation that made him feel sick was how deep the pain was. Deep somewhere that wasn’t supposed to get broken, somewhere that he didn’t know how to get fixed. Accidents happen, fingers and sometimes legs get hurt from falls but his jaw?
Not a moment later his denmate was there, a gentle hand over his eyes and another tentatively feeling over the hurt spot. The pressure there was nearly unbearable, Rudy jolting and grabbing onto Clyde’s waist. Pain pain pain danger danger danger he wanted to be completely hidden from the threat, small enough to disappear into the shadows.
“Clyde, corner.”
The other vampire flinched, pulling its head up to look over at the man. “Hurt,” he started, glad using the human sounds was his job. “Stay-”
“No,” Mason ordered, pointing to the side. Clyde deflated a bit, not wanting to move. Frustrated, Mason shook his head and quickly made his way upstairs. Rudy gave a frightened whimper as the door slammed and pressed his forehead further into Clyde’s shoulder. Vampires didn’t cry like humans did, eyes a little glassy but still clear.
Far stronger than he looked, Clyde pulled Rudy into his arms and started to move away, trying to find a small and safe corner to tend to his denmate. Before he could get too far, the door opened again.
When Mason returned, he had a protector around his neck and a thick long sleeve jacket made for handling unruly vampires on. Clyde shied away from him and hissed, more from instinct than from true fear.
“No, put him down, Clyde.”
Rudy curled closer to him. “Hurt,” Clyde repeated, trying to add that begging tone humans liked. “Hurt-”
“I know, I know he’s hurt,” Mason said, stalking a little closer, on hand casually behind his back. “I’m going to help him feel better. Help.”
Clyde was frozen where he stood. The Man had never hurt them before, been nothing but nice and good. A little strange, but still good. The fact he had hurt Rudy rung Clyde’s head like he’d been hit. It was wrong, too out of the normal.
He didn’t have time to react to the prick of the injector in his arm before his eyes rolled back and he fell unconscious.
Rudy chittered a panicked little noise and tried to get away after he was dropped, but Mason lunged forward with a second injector and soon he was asleep as well.
When Rudy woke, the first thing he realized was how strange he felt. He was awake, but still felt a little asleep. And his body ached, as if he had been running and climbing for a day. After a few blinks to clear his vision, he sat up in the nest where Clyde was curled against them. They were in the upstairs one, where the man stayed. They came up here some days when he was home, fascinated by the strange objects in his house but having learned to look, not touch.
The next thing Rudy realized was he couldn’t open his mouth.
There was no muzzle, no gag or good reason he couldn’t, simply a horribly tight feeling around his teeth and jaw when he tried. He whimpered brokenly, hands scrambling around his chin and lips. Metal, there was metal in his mouth keeping it closed.
The Man was there in a moment, keeping his hands down and stopping him from scratching himself.
“Hey, hey you’re okay. It’s okay.”
Rudy whimpered louder and tried to tug his hands free but he was strangely weak. Usually he’d be able to get out of the man’s grip, but he couldn’t even make him budge right now.
Even more bizarrely, the Man transferred both of the vampire's wrists into one hand and held them there, the other coming up to lay heavily on the back of Rudy’s neck. The touch made him stop struggling at once, staring directly into the man’s eyes.
“It’s okay. The wires will help your jaw heal. Like a bandaid, but stronger -okay?”
Rudy understood most of those words, but he still didn’t understand the point. How was he going to eat? To keep his teeth sharp and in good condition. With his hands held down and Clyde the one that usually communicated with the man, his best attempt at these questions was a pained whine.
“I know you’re sorry, bud. But you can’t bite people. Understand? No biting, no matter what.”
The pressure on the back of his neck grew stronger and Rudy nodded his head quickly, using the human gesture. No more biting, the man was right. No matter that he was a human, the man was still stronger than them, still in control. He got to make the decisions - he was their denleader. He said Rudy was sorry, so Rudy was sorry.
Trembling, but understanding it was expected, Rudy slowly leaned forward to press his forehead into the Man’s shoulder. Showing he was trying to find comfort in the denleader like he was supposed to.
Nevermind he found very little there.

Would vampire Clyde and Rudy be able to chat with the bats that may roost in Mason's attic?
Fun fact! Most bats are endangered, so Mason probably wouldn't be able to do anything about bats if they decided to roost at his place for the season!
My vampire!Rudy and Clyde are actually far more animalistic than most vampires, so Mason might not let them out of their ~enclosure sin the basement.
However! I think they would really like them! They’d most likely try to play/catch them.

okay totally random thought, but have you ever considered an au where clyde and/or rudy are the owners and mason is the pet? how do you think that would go?
I actually never have thought of this lol. Whumper turned whumpee is not often my thought process honestly.
Mason would be a good pet. Annoying to other pets but very well behaved. Teacher pet (literally ha!)
Clyde would probably not get a pet. Rudy probably would and Mason would still walk all over him lol. Gets whatever he wants, very spoiled, Rudy can’t say no to him.
So in the end no major difference lol

They are happy and successful.

In the Clyde Escapes AU, lets say hypothetically Mason got Clyde back, how would Mason even begin to train Clyde? I can't imagine Clyde could ever go back to the way he was before his escape
He’d start with what he used to do - and then very quickly realize oh shit. That isn’t working.
Mason wouldn’t be able to “train” him effectively because Mason doesn’t believe him.
Mason cannot believe that Clyde was doing better without him. Could not believe it. He had a job? A well paying job? He was respected? He … learned how to read? To speak another language. Impossible. Lies. Clyde must be lying to him.
An AU where Clyde gets re-captured is also an AU where Mason starts to unravel mentally. Clyde would be calm and collected while Masons slowly spirals further and further as the foundation of his world is crumbling.
(and if Mason crumbles Rudy is also going to crumble. I’m sure Mason would keep the boys separated, so Rudy wouldn’t be able to stand up to Mason’s conditioning on his own. Eventually he’d start sneaking down to see Clyde and I’m sure eventually call the authorities)

Just a Random Info Dump about Rudy in the Freed Au.
TW Abusive relationship.
It occured to me that Rudy’s 1st boyfriend (in the Free Au) was 100% A toxic douchebag.
Rudy struggles very badly with setting boundaries, can’t tell love from possession, and is just a very vulnerable and overly trusting person. Someone absolutely came in and swept him off his feet and completely took advantage of that.
This Person absolutely targeted him after he found out he was a former pet, absolutely started to isolate him and absolutely convinced him to wear the collar “sometimes” when he did not want to because it would “be fun and help you”.
Clyde also absolutely went full Mob Boss after Rudy started suddenly cancelling plans. Put together a full blackmail file with photos and proof of everything this Asshole had ever done wrong. Threatened him within an inch of his fucking life.
It takes a few years before he can consider dating again. He’s not great at being alone, moving back in with Clyde for a little bit.
However!
He does find his partners eventually and they are very happy together!

Hello! *Is* Clyde fully neurotypical? Because totally cool if so, but I was relating pretty hard to him specifically because of some autistic traits we share!
My mum used to say I was a super quiet baby but always really "curious" - I was always looking around at everything, apparently (I think many babies do this, but she insists it was more than usual with me and she has had a total of two babies so I guess she had at least one point of comparison) which is an immediate similarity with Clyde - and once I got to school I was ALWAYS "a pleasure to have in class". Never any trouble, very quiet, and very, very good at following the rules, absolute teachers' pet (heh, pet, lol). Clyde *seems* to get less social anxiety than me *outwardly* when he's with Mason, but having a very rigid role as a pet probably... helped with that in some ways. I would slowly die of misery if I couldn't feed my curiousity (often called special interests by the autistic community, which is the correct term, but for me in particular they definitely present in an "I want to learn more about this thing and pick it all apart and then, then, THEN, be really, really good at it" way, hence: "curiosity"), but having rigid rules and mealtimes and bedtime, being... babied... a bit, the only thing expected of me being to be able to sit quietly and look pretty when I'm around other people... I get social anxiety and choice paralysis super badly. Not having to interact with people like a "normal person" or make any decisions ever... It would be evil, and awful, but it would be *easy*. Easier for me than an actual neurotypical, I think. I'm really really, REALLY good at following instructions, sitting quietly, etc. Unhealthily good, because it isn't actually a good idea to live like that all the time.
So I relate both to the ways Clyde is a "good pet" and the things that make being a pet ultimately stifling and unbearable for him, and in both cases it's due to traits I associate with my own autism.
(I'm the anon who was happy to hear you're canonising the happy ending au, btw, and I've also sent asks in the past (before I had a Tumblr account) signing as a flower emoji I think? Maybe 🌸 or 🌺? It was a WHILE ago and I've lost your responses now because I didn't have an account at the time so no easy way to save them :(. These days I try to like responses to anon asks I've sent so I can keep 'em.)
Oh hello! I remember the flower anon! if i have the brain power i'll see if i can dig them up.
As for Clyde, I can absolutely see all those connections.... I didn't specifically go out writing him to be autistic, but i've had characters develop on their own before lol. More than likely he wouldn't have any sort of diagnosis or any attention on it before he was freed because - pet.
I was always looking around at everything, apparently
When I first wrote Clyde, I wanted to write a more quiet reserved whumpee. Most often pet whumpees are just like Brody and Rudy. Fun and energetic and the appeal is immediate. I liked the idea of Clyde watching and studying everything around him. I also loved the idea of the Owner being like 'ha yeah nothing between those ears just floof" and the pet is like, mentally going through the steps to dismantle a toaster. or in clyde's case has memorized the cars and schedules of everyone in the neighborhood and knows who is having an affair and who is an alcoholic and whose kids just joined the school sports team.
Clyde *seems* to get less social anxiety than me *outwardly* when he's with Mason, but having a very rigid role as a pet probably... helped with that in some ways.
In my mind Clyde is not very anxious. More like, detached? In the sense that for his entire life, things have happened around him and about him, but for the most part they don't ask for his input. So he just watches. Then, freed, he's often the most well connected and - for a lack of better - powerful person in the room so he doesn't much care what other people are thinking of him.
It would be evil, and awful, but it would be *easy*. Easier for me than an actual neurotypical, I think. I'm really really, REALLY good at following instructions, sitting quietly, etc. Unhealthily good, because it isn't actually a good idea to live like that all the time.
This sounds like a truly fascinating start to a conversation, however i'm likely not the best to have it. I would love to listen to it though.
But when it comes to following instructions and such, Clyde's role in the Pet Shows Mason does is the Technical Competition, which is 100% about obedience and being precise in following directions. He is absolutely model pet in that sense.
So I relate both to the ways Clyde is a "good pet" and the things that make being a pet ultimately stifling and unbearable for him, and in both cases it's due to traits I associate with my own autism.
I really love this, because I know that I write pet whump and draw from my religious trauma. It's so cool to me that you can read my same little words about my boys and draw something else out. That genuinely makes me feel really, really good.
I have definitely stumbled into making some of my characters, but I hope I haven't accidently autistic-coded Clyde this whole time. I really like it though. I'll probably ask for some sensitivity readers or some betas and such to help me bounce ideas off for him.

Would Rudy and Clyde cuddle? Both normal and vampire them.
Yes.
Clyde is the big spoon. Always.
I’m the Critter!AU I’m making a fair amount of their communication physical, so they cuddle a lot as vamps too.

Would Mason make his Vampire!pets wear bells because they're so quiet?
oh yesss. Plus a couple other things i'm coming up with.
They can both say some words to a degree, but struggle with the sounds. Like Rudy calls Clyde "Tide"
Clyde uses a modified speech program on his tablet for some complex sentences. Mason believes that Rudy just can't figure it out, but the real reason that Rudy doesn't use it is because he doesn't feel like he needs to. I'm thinking vampires really work as packs and there's already a vampire doing that - why would he too?
They have a little aquarium Mason put in there with lights and little wind up fish. They both fucking love it. Mason finds it amusing they don't try to eat the fish but they both know it's fake - it's just really cute.
I'm working on a critter!au piece but it's ending up longer than i thought lol.
