The princess is found by the Empress in a precarious position ; and it's not the sensual kind that was becoming more common between them. Liselotte never played pretty, and here she was, proving this with her skirts squirreled up and away in her hands, taking less than careful steps into the mud. The pond was proving to be a difficult opponent to wade through, and Liselotte let out a loud laugh at Emily's comment.
" What do you think I'm doing? I hear the critters croaking all night.
Or, is there something else to search for at the bottom of this pond?
Maybe, I need to find the pearls that poor Philippe dropped in here so he can clutch them if he sees me.

HSHQTASK059: FAREWELL !
when did you join ? what made you join ? what do you remember from the plotlines that were current at the time ? where were you in life when you joined and where are you now ?
i want to say i first joined chambordrp in 2014 ? it didn't last too long but the group made a comeback in 2015 and i'm so so grateful that it did. admin m had asked me to join the admin team ( of just herself ) to help her with some ( hideous, i'm sure ) graphics, and here i am, this many years later ! back then, i was a baby high school student, procrastinating my assignments because my rp partners were waiting on a reply.
at the time, the group was a hot mess, and the most serious plots were angsty exes and besties who had a falling out. i'd joined with some iteration of armani with a cara delevingne fc which is still so wild to me bc that will forever be gaia to me. i was going through my inbox and do you guys remember when we used to plot in our inboxes ?? i literally have asks from viveka-b from 2015 and i can't believe how far we've come.
which characters have you written over the years ?
oh goddd... armani, beatriz, a chris wood fc who's name i can't remember for the life of me, a maia mitchell, a zoey deutch, kostya, kseniya ( i still can't believe i played my own cousin 💀 ), jelani and ines... and liselotte, my samke baby <3
what is your favourite plotline that you've been part of ?
anything romanov-related i've felt so lucky to be a part of ! so much so, that i needed two whole romanovs to play with. the poisoning of alexei / roman v milena plotline had a grip on me, even though my roles were so miniscule.
i'm copying answers here but i will always have a soft spot for viani. they've come so far from that six-way thread where evy and martha had to rp with themselves. ani has always been my little guilty pleasure character and i'm so glad that martha felt similarly enough for us to be able to bring them back and close their chapter. it's their two year anniversary soon, i'm in shambles.
what about other people's plotlines ?
you already KNOW i'm a sucker for ships. samke is forever my otp, i sometimes forget that femkris was a thing ?? my eyes were glued whenever we got new farnauld or annexei content. if i could list out every single hshqship here, i would. i love love <3
who is your favourite character from the ones you've played ? why ? what made you love them ? what made them so fun to write ?
i've had a surprising lot of fun playing jelani, which i really hadn't expected when he was first born, with a reece king fc. it's been so entertaining to write someone so unapologetically messy and i think what i loved most about writing with him was how easy it was to have chem with other characters. jelani and aurel were so easy, i love my brotp. jelstrid and jelimpia will always have a place in my heart.
i also can't not say armani. she's not a character with too much depth but she was always a character that i could come back to for something light-hearted and one that i feel like i've grown up with. i just love the oranje-nassaus so much.
not a character, but it was so much fun being a part of the gossip blog. it was so unserious and i used to read back on some of the answers and laugh at how funny everyone is.
if you could relive a plotline, which would it be ?
not exactly a plotline but every event has been so fun, even when we'd thought they'd get repetitive. the points games, the auction event, the murder mystery. i loved how involved everyone would get, both ic and ooc. you guys have kept this group so fresh and interesting.
is there a plotline that you'd edit now if you could ?
not at all.
what's a plotline you wish you would have been able to finish before closing or just write more of ?
i wish i'd gotten more time with invente ! i'm so glad that i was naomi'd into bringing ines. i had great big shoes to fill after sylvia but i had such a fun time writing ines and i'm glad i'd gotten the chance. writing fanni x ines threads really helped me better understand her character and i wish i had more time to explore her more.
what is your favourite ooc memory ?
i'm going to ditto martha and say battling the crazy muns. i know i've just written paragraphs on paragraphs about how big a part this rp has been to me but,,, we've had our fair share of crazies ! i'm glad we could all laugh about it after.
the admin snapchat group with eve and evy will also have a special place in my heart. you probably don't remember but i vividly remember us all sending each other voice notes and being shocked by each other's accents ???
i was so skeptical about discord at first but i'm so glad i joined. it's made every event and each bit of drama so much juicier and it's given me the chance to get to know u all better. serre loves me so much, she sent me donuts for valentine's day last year and i'm still emo abt it
where can others find you if they want to get in touch ?
discord ! i might check this blog every once in a while but i think it's time for me to finally let tumblr rest.
what else would you like to say ?
i've said a few things here but this honestly feels so bittersweet to me. the dash has been dead for a little bit now but i've, quite honestly, still been checking it daily, hoping there'll be a little something new for me to read and hold onto.
i really never would have imagined that a group of fictional royals would have had such a grip on me. each character was so fleshed out that i couldn't help but feel invested in all these stories and now that it's time for the group to close, i'm hit with the fact that i have to say goodbye to so many characters i've watched grow, but also a community that i've grown up around.
my writing has improved drastically over the years and it's a testament to the sheer talent of the people in this group. every single member of this group over the years has been so instrumental in the worldbuilding and it's so crazy to look at hshq and remember that it all stemmed from a rich kids rp.
i've said it to e and evy but this group is honestly legendary, in our obscure little community. not just in longevity but the rise of model fcs and medium gifs in the rpc definitely started here ! you guys are so so talented and it's been such a privilege to be a part of it. if your muse ever strikes, i hope you'll write a thread or two here. i've yet to read the final chapters popping up on my dash – i'm still in denial and i'm not ready to let these characters go.
i don't want to sound too sappy and dramatic, but what we had here was truly rare. i adore you all and i hope we stay in touch <3

Liselotte had arrived in France ignorant of how barbarous Louis’ courtiers could be, but she’d been armed from an early age to take little notice in the opinions of others particularly where her appearance was concerned. She was under no grand illusion regarding her looks, she was never to be any great beauty or muse of poetry and art as were other women of high noble birth but what she lacked in aesthetic she made up for in personality in spades. Her straightforward and blunt manor was a refreshing breath of fresh air in Versailles’ Garden of Eden where serpents coiled along the paths ready and waiting to strike. She possessed an affable temperament, as charming as she was witty and was well-versed in the art of gossip even when she became the central topic of conversation. It was, however, ill-advised for anyone to prey upon the growing size of her unborn child and face off against her fiercely protective mothering nature.
The flippant comment was no match for Liselotte’s deteriorating self-image and mood swings, bolstered only by an unfathomable anger fueled solely by pregnancy hormones as she turned slowly to face her accuser demurely fanning herself to hide her self-satisfied smirk while looking to her circle of clucking hens surrounding her instead of directly at the Princess. “Would you care to repeat your opinion in the presence of Monsieur or even the King himself? If you think yourself so bold as to presume to know what would or would not please his majesty, surely you have the courage to tell him yourself.” Her words were light and airy in tone, but with menacing undercurrents that dared anyone to test what little patience she had left as she raised one brow expectantly.
With one hand protectively placed over the growing and very visible bump, Liselotte took one step closer to the assembled gaggle and craned her neck as if straining to hear but no one offered anything more than shameful diverted gazes to the floor in front of their feet. “We cannot all be envious of your fine figure when so few of us can afford to eat so little as you.” Liselotte flashed a toothy smile, as much a threatening warning as it appeared to be jovial by any passersby. “I will be sure to inform the King how often you decline his generous offerings and the most delectable cuisine in all of France.” She feigned thoughtfulness as she lifted a finger to her chin in mock contemplation, side eyeing the other woman as horror struck her gaunt features and gave Liselotte a jolt of malicious satisfaction.
“And as for any further discussion regarding me or my family, you would do well to remember I carry the child of the King’s beloved brother and possibly a future King of France. Good day.” She dismissed them with a turn of her skirts and her chin held high in rebellion but only until the guards opened the doors and closed them behind her once she’d made it to the safety of the hallway. It was only then that she let out the deep breath she’d been holding in, feeling the flush rise in her cheeks and a faint ringing in her ears as she leaned against the nearest column for support. She felt the welling of angry tears prickling her eyes and her entire head swimming from the sudden heat, a rolling wave of nausea churning in her stomach from so many floral scents swirling together in one room and her heart thumping in her chest as if it were somehow to break free of her ribcage. Leaning her head back, she sighed in exasperation as she stared up at the ornate ceiling and took in a deep breath, both hands falling to her stomach as she cradled her unborn child over the material of her lavish dress.

I forgot I have a list of my OCs on here and I was thinking about updating it with some of my new OCs, then I realized I don't have the AUs listed that I've created for some of my older OCs added to the list and I'm not sure how to add the AUs with the way the list is formatted. I have a sideblog with some of my OCs bios, including their AUs but it's mainly a place to host the OCs I use for RP and to put out RP requests. I'm wondering if I should change the RP sideblog into a general fandom blog, tbh? Or if I should just create a fandom sideblog? Because I’d really like to start writing fanfics including my fandom OCs and I'm not sure if I want my OCs to be like, spread across different blogs like that and I feel like it’d make more sense just to keep them and content related to them all on one blog but I don’t know. Anyways, any advice on this? I really want to get involved with fandoms and writing fanfic again and eventually get back to working on original fic and I want to start by like, talking about some of my OCs on here and stuff. I'm probably overthinking this whole thing and maybe I should just dump all fandom-related stuff here and just reformat the way the post about my OCs is written but I'm having a hard time deciding what to do here. Someone please help! I want to start contributing creatively to the fandoms I'm in but I really need to figure this out first or else I'm just going to hyperfixate on this and never actually write or post anything!

LA by Night has really made me want to try TTRPG but the last time I tried it… It wasn’t a great experience and I actually blocked most of it out, but that was a D&D game, like, 10 years ago, and it was only one session because it was such a bad experience that I didn’t want to go back. The guys I was playing with were assholes and it just turned me off of tabletop gaming all together for awhile because I was just overcoming severe social anxiety at the time so like, convincing myself to get past my anxiety to do a thing only for that thing to bite me in the ass really messed me up for awhile.
But I’m hoping maybe I’ll have better luck with VTM? I’ve been wanting to play VTM since I played Bloodlines a few years ago and I’ve been reading up on World of Darkness lore and tried to make a VTM character to try and play a single player chronicle just to learn how to play, but I find it all so confusing and I end up mentally exhausted before even getting through character creation.
Sorry for the long rant, I’m not even sure how much of this is coherent. I guess what I’m trying to say here is… Anyone out there willing to teach me how to play VTM and be patient with me while I learn and not make fun of me and put me down the entire time? Because it seems like so much fun and I really want to play!

Opinions about the new characters in Versailles season 2? Gaston, Thomas, madame Agathe? (I would include liselotte but she deserves her own post I think :3)
Ooh this is going to be a fun one I’m very opinionated lmao[[SPOILERS. Please don’t read this until you’ve seen the season!]]
To be honest, for me Gaston and Madame Agathe were the most disappointing characters in Versailles so far. What the hell is their motivation? What the hell is their relationship? Like she kissed him and she owns his soul now or what? What did she WANT. I mean she had a lot of power and money from her dealings but...like why? She didn’t seem particularly interested in anything except being high and creepy. She’s so dedicated to Madame de Montespan that I hoped maybe she was some kind of secret radical feminist but nope not even that. For me, Gaston’s mother was actually a more interesting antagonist because she so clearly had a strong motive and she did love her son a lot she just...was very awkward in her way of going about it. Gaston on the other hand...just?? Seemed like a lackey doing everything everyone else said while thinking he was some kind of amazing scheming villain and abusing the poor maid over and over. Honestly, the most fun I got out of Gaston was him arguing with Cassel which was excellent - brilliant burns there. I feel like the actors did their best for characters that were kind of...weird. Honestly, the fortune teller and her boy toy didn’t cut it for me. Let’s just say I won’t be missing them in season 3.Thomas though, Thomas is fun. He’s definitely my favourite of the new characters, probably one of my favourite characters to be honest, because I hate him. It’s really hard to get me to care enough about a character to strongly dislike them but ooomg he does a gReAt job. Mark Rendall does a brilliant job with him. He’s so soft and naive feeling on the one hand and also this scheming total bastard on the other. He is clearly very competent at fighting, and he’s clever enough to stick his neck out but still does a pretty good job of being a spy. He even has blackmail on poor Sophie as backup in case things went wrong with her. I also really like him because he’s basically everything that the Chevalier gets commonly accused of being - he’s literally straight and pretending to be bi to get closer to Philippe, he’s literally manipulating and blackmailing everyone around him, he’s literally a spy. He’s just this excellent foil. Brave, ruthless, brunette anti Chevalier. He seems like a really fun character to write and to act and I will actually be missing him next season though I wouldn’t give up his ending for the world. Honestly if I wasn’t Philippe, he’d probably be my second rp choice.
I also want to mention Scarron, because at first I brushed her off as kind of a boring character that I couldn’t understand why Louis would take a fancy to - but after I watched the season again I realized how sweet their relationship actually is. Louis feels caught in this whirlpool sucking him down into sin and depravity and darkness and everyone is trying to kill him from all sides he’s having a proper nervous breakdown, and she is this... light. She is pure and sweet and offers him a hand to pull him out of his darkness and it’s so tender. She refuses him SEX and he’s still completely smitten, I think MORE smitten because of it. I just really adore her as this saviour figure for him.

The Empress always admitted how much she admired the Princess ; how she humbled other with her honest ( and less than proper ) opinions, or how Liselotte lent her frank and fun personality to fend off boredom at frightfully flat affairs. How she bickered with her husband out of martial duty, and scolded Philippe to be a better, big brother to his new Empress sister.
And the fondness was found as they sat together today ( in sparse peaceful privacy ), Emily's fingers tangling in Liselotte's tousled curls. A kiss was consented, but unable to be conjured as a ' kick ' caused the older woman to pause and draw back ;

10. If you have multiple muses who are two you’d choose to interact together if you could RP with yourself?
Ooooh. First comes to mind is Liselotte & Victoria, just because of where my fixation is but I think they share a tenacity but express it in wildly different ways. I think Liselotte would intrigue Victoria immensely for being so blunt but find her ability to be so commanding and uncaring for what other people think of her admirable. I’m not sure what Liselotte would make of Victoria, probably mistakenly write her off as being too meek and mild until really seeing her true strength but there would be such a mutual understanding and respect between the two of them. The wildest combo I think would be Stiorra meeting River Tam. That could be an entire series all its’ own.
15. What is the oddest muse you’ve picked up that you didn’t think you would?
Even though she’s not directly on the muse list currently on this blog, she’s still very existent but Alexis Rose from Schitt’s Creek with @killjoysanonymous It’s odd only because I never thought in a million years I would accurately capture Alexis’s unique voice and actually do her justice. It’s one I was most hesitant to try in wanting to get it right because I love her so much and the number of people in RL that draw the parallels of me & both the Rose siblings 🤔 Which I am sure IS always a compliment lol. But I also think about the time on another blog when I ghost wrote for the PLL gals & found it odd how easily I vibed with Hanna Marin.
19. Explain something on your blog that has a metaphorical/symbolical meaning or is a reference to something else (URL, a tag, blog title, etc)
All the tags are straightforward because I’m usually so awful at organization I really wanted & needed something simpler on this blog since its’ creation was intended to be less stress than other blogs. I guess the title just comes from The Last Kingdom hyper-fixation at the time, I love big existential ideas of existence and belonging, I needed something overarching to encompass all characters I wanted to add to this blog or try out in a safe space. The identity of who you are in your blood or who you are determined to be by fate, big ideas we all face in discovering our personhood which I guess is a big cornerstone for me in a lot of the characters I relate to and play but especially Stiorra from The Last Kingdom.

Liselotte turns and is hit with the reality of her empress and the family crest promising protection and prosperity. The princess lets the weight of the dagger ( and situation ) rest in her palms, stormy blue eyes picking up their gaze.
