It had been a long day and Luke could feel the exhaustion in his bones. He was used to being tired, he was used to being forced to be alert at all times but it was exhausting. So, when he returned home, all he wanted to do was crawl into your arms. When he was wrapped up with you, his mind finally slowed down and he was able to stop being so alert. He could just focus on you, in the present and that’s all his mind was craving.

When he walked into the house, it was quiet. The two of you had moved in together a few weeks ago and so, he had become used to the sounds of you cooking or baking or singing or just simply existing in the space. But it was quiet. His body - still on red alert - went straight to the worst case scenario especially when Roxy didn’t appear. He grabbed his gun from its holster and lifted it up, walking through the house.

He cleared every room but nothing looked out of place. At least not downstairs. He wasn’t sure if that was a good or bad sign and so, he headed upstairs. He took the stairs slowly, avoiding the steps that he knew would creak underneath his heavy feet. 

Once he was on the landing, he headed slowly towards the bedroom. He nudged the door open and in the mid-afternoon sun he saw you. You were curled up in your shared bed, your arms wrapped around the pile of pillows that you seemed to be using as a substitute for him. His heart melted and he slipped his gun back into its holster.

You were safe. You were fine. You were just tired. He didn’t blame you.

Roxy was lying on the end of the bed, snuggled up to your feet as the two of you slept contently. But when Luke closed the bedroom door, Roxy’s head shifted up. Her eyes blinked open and Luke smiled softly as he walked over to give her pets and scritches behind the ear.

“Hello, my sweet girl,” He mumbled as he scritched under her chin. Roxy was constantly pushing her head back into Luke’s hands, desperate for any sort of attention from him and when Luke drew his hands away so he could get changed, Roxy stood up.

She jumped off the bed and trotted up to Luke who couldn’t help the soft chuckle that escaped his lips. He knelt down and while he gave her the proper attention she deserved, you woke up. Your eyes blinked open, barely remembering what century it was, let alone what was going on. Your head turned from side-to-side. The sun was still up but where was Roxy?  The familiar warmth was gone and in your daze, you looked to the end of the bed to see Luke knelt there, stroking her. 

You let out an involuntary gasp of excitement before you sleepily yet quickly clambered off the bed and threw yourself at Luke. He managed to stand up just in time to wrap you up in his arms and Roxy barked excitedly. You chuckled, nuzzling your face into his neck.

“You’re home. I missed you,” You mumbled against his skin as you held him tighter. Your arms wrapped around him so tightly that if it was anyone else, it would have been painful.

“I missed you too,” He muttered. You didn’t want to let him go but when Roxy was still barking and jumping up at the two of you, you pulled back and grinned down at her.

“Your daddy’s home, isn’t he? Are you happy? I’m very happy,” You said to her as you knelt and she pushed her face into your body, wanting attention too. You chuckled and hugged her, stroking her fur as you looked up at Luke. His shoulders had been rigid but they were relaxed now and an easy smile made its way across his face.

“Back with my best girls,” He mumbled. You grinned and nodded.

-after the Pizzaplex burned down, Roxy had a lot of alone time to reflect and became a lot more humbled

-Roxy always found the Daycare Attendant annoying but after her development I think they’d be therapy buddies <3

-It confuses me how you can hear Chica talking with the mask on, so I like to think she still has a way of communicating with the others since MXES can send for animatronics

-speaking of, everyone was scared of MXES, but then he became everyone’s therapist

-Especially Sun. Sun is depressed as hell.

-Moon has become more needy for attention and a bit more insecure

-Monty is just straight up feral. He thinks his only way to go about is destroying things

-He likes to catch rides around the Pizzaplex on Chica

-If she’s able to carry him, that is

-The others considered moving Freddy’s body over next to Bonnie just as a sweet sentiment, but they decided to let him rest peacefully

-They thought he was just. Dead.

-Moon can go around the Pizzaplex now, so he’ll stalk the other animatronics and search for literally any sign of life

-Chica likes to talk with the Daycare attendant because Sun will hear her directly, then tell Moon what she’s saying

-That way they can communicate more effectively than the others

-Music Man is unstoppable. He’s escaped and is throwing the biggest raves he’s ever thrown at the newest Fazbear establishment

-The mini music men had no one to model after, so they took different animatronics like Bonnie and Sun to “dress up” as

Nightmares

WARNINGS: Reader had a nightmare, Reader had a (semi?) panic attack because of it, Luke is a fucking SWEETHEART and helps them through it.

Luke wakes up to hear coughs and gasps, not even taking a second to open his eyes and get adjusted to being concious before his hand finds the light on the nightstand to turn it on as he's sitting up. He turns his head, noticing you sat up and struggling to breathe, coughing and gasping.

He reaches forward, ever so gently letting his hand graze over your shoulder, alerting you of his presence in your moment of what looks like pure panic. “Baby.. hey, hey.. try to breathe..” He whispers in a groggy voice, his free hand rubbing at his eyes so he can completely open them.

Luke can feel you tremble and shake just from his hand hovering over your shoulder, his worry growing when you flinch away from his touch. Though, you nearly fly into his arms when Roxy starts scratching at the door, your whine of fear almost mirroring hers. He looks over at the door, shouting “Go lie down, Roxy!” before looking back down at you. He sees your hands over your ears, leaning his head down a bit so he can whisper near your ear, wanting to be somewhat heard through your hands as they cover them.

“What's got you so riled up?” He asks in the sweetest, most caring tone he can hold. You find it hard to reply, still trembling and struggling to breathe through everything. “I don't- I don't..” You murmur, turning your head to look up at him with eyes that plead for him to not make you talk about it. He lightly nods his head in recognition, starting to gently shush you as he places his hands over yours, helping you block out all the noise of the world and hopefully his presence helps block out the lingering thoughts of the nightmare.

You adjust yourself to lay against him, your upper back against his chest and your head tipped a bit forward so you can stare down at yourself, almost reminding yourself that you're here. You can't help but look back at him every once in a while, the gentle shushing noise continuing even though you can barely hear it through the hands over your ears. After a bit of reluctance you decide to pull your hands off, his remaining over yours. Luke grabs your hands before rapping his arms around you, letting his forehead rest against the side of your head so he can continue with the soothing shushing, noise soft as his lips hover near your ear.

And eventually, after a little bit of sitting with him like that and listening to his soothing shushing, you start to calm down again, letting your body relax against his and your head tilt back to rest against his shoulder. He presses a light kiss to the crook of your neck, mumbling a few sweet praises, telling you he's proud of how you managed to calm down. At this point, you swear he knows just how to make everything feel.. okay, sounds like it could be the right word.

You turn your head to the side, letting your lips meet his in a gentle kiss. He lets it linger for a second before pulling back, opening his eyes to look at you. "Can I ask what's got you so.. what got you so panicked?" Luke asks again, moving one hand to rest on the side of your face, thumb brushing over your cheek. You turn your head so you can look up at the ceiling, hesitant in how you want to word it - or if you even want to open up. "I.. uh, The.. bad dreams are getting.. worse?", all he can do is slowly nod his head and hold you tighter as he takes in your words. "Alright, alright.." He murmurs in response.

Luke adjusts himself to lean back a little more, letting you remain propped up laying against him. "Well, I'll be right here. No matter how bad they get." He adds, kissing the top of your head. You give him a light smile, getting comfortable on him before letting your eyes slip shut again, hoping the nightmares don't return. And, if they do, then at least Luke is there.

Right?

imagine cassie reading roxy to sleep especially if she's been crying or something <3

Aww that'd be so sweet!

Imagine it's a thing they both do for eachother too! And ya know, with Cassie loving her acting stuff, I bet it's more like a dramatic reading being done on stage. Imagine them scrambling to try and make something up on the spot for eachother and it going about as well as you'd expect lmao but it's fun and it makes them feel better and more comfortable to sleep so it's a success every time!

Imagine in Meteors they make their own pop-up book where Cassie writes a dramatic story and Roxy with her new ability to hold a crayon without crushing it into a fine powder draws the pictures. They make a whole collection of them and fill Roxy's bookshelf over time with the drawings getting more and more legible as time goes on and the pop ups getting more elaborate as they both figure out how to do more stuff with it...

Imagine in Meteors, having Cassie's dad read them both a bedtime story and the pair of them fall asleep together all comfy cosy in a pillow fort. Imagine Roxy's favourite story is Little Red Riding Hood purely because Cassie improvised her ass off halfway through to somehow make the wolf a hero because she realised Roxy wouldn't enjoy a wolf being the bad guy. Imagine Roxy going to Moon to borrow story books to memorise or learning Foxy's pirate stories (and then changing them to make them more Cool in her eyes) to be able to tell Cassie new stories. Imagine Roxy telling stories is actually often a not so subtle story about the time they used Monty as a bowling ball and other such memorable moments from the Plex.

I can imagine Roxy getting so hyper stressed out about things sometimes that Cassie likes to help her out by showing up to get comfy and tell her stories. Roxy could return the favour after some long days but would struggle a bit to come up with stuff on the fly.

The sleepy comfort in this is so good I love it they're both so sweet with eachother I love them this is adorable

Just finished playing sb ruin!

STEEL WOOL YOU HAD ONE JOB how did you make the plot holes worse.

Three characters have just EVAPORATED two were just environmental hazards at BEST and only two got any sort of character development!!!!

Literally the only new characters were a) the protagonist (expected, wanted) and b) the antagonist (CONTEXT??? LORE?? HELLO?!). 'Oh it's been down there for a really long time' HAS IT NOW?? HAS IT?? BECAUSE IT SURE WASN'T THERE BEFORE. WE WENT THERE AND IT WASN'T THERE.

The voice acting was great, I will say that. Every actor gave 110% and it really brought the whole thing to life. The set building too. And the glitchy effects!

Unfortunately the story completely fell through again.

At the start, it felt pretty clear where it was going to go. 'Gregory' was directing us down to the old afton fight area, there was rabbit/vanny graffiti everywhere, there was a strange rabbit mask that turned the world purple and glitchy and let you walk through solid objects occasionally, instructed by a gaslighting little AI that knew more than it was letting on.

Given the way it lined up with the gargantuan plot holes in security breach, and it was free dlc for the game marketed as fixing those holes, it was fairly obvious it'd be a story with vanny as the final boss, having not given up on her goal and possibly still kidnapping children. Cassie would potentially face mind control or sensory brainwashing from the mask, we'd get attacked by the broken animatronics, maybe put them to rest or cure them enough to escape the pizza plex, and at the end we'd find out how Gregory was being impersonated, a boss fight almost certainly in vr against whatever weird blue robo bunny kept staring at us (it doesn't even do anything???) and vanny irl, Cassie would stop their plans and/or burn the pizza plex down the rest of the way. Meet up with Gregory again at the end, possibly with a freddy head, I wasn't picky.

You know, closure.

Instead, the plot was... Essentially nonexistent, just as much a run quest cycle as sb despite the linear progression and lack of teleporting animatronics, somehow. The boss 'fight' was completely divorced from the rest of the game, all but roxy and the da were entirely absent of any character development, both of which were relevant for about three seconds.

The lift ending was a cheap shock value ending which only left more questions than answers. The other two, which we googled, were equally free of things like 'explanations' and 'filled plot holes' and 'context' and 'closure', and all of which were dependant purely on random actions in the final scene we were given no hints to knowing about, unlike sb. By the end we were left in shock, fury, confusion and betrayal, which isn't a great note to end your game on.

All in all, while eclipse was a pleasant surprise and roxys five new lines of dialogue were sweet and a bit sad, ruin managed to be like security breach in all the worst ways, and didn't even have any funny glitches to laugh at. Loading screens were insanely long, enough we once ate a full meal during three back to back ones and went on our phones instead of waiting patiently, AND regular. All deaths were to the slippery catwalk in gator golf or frustration making us reckless, and we had to get out the walk throughs just to navigate certain areas. Though we were told we were invisible to most animatronics in the mask no one had told any of them. Bar the endos every single one could spot and chase us in the mask. We got softlocked several times and had to restart. The weird robot rabbit never got any context or explanation and didn't even do anything to our knowledge?? Summoned the animatronics maybe but even if you didn't take the mask off and walked through him he wouldn't do anything. Got jumpscared ONCE and then we continued on our merry way.

Also the game crashed twice.

Since I always have a shitload of silly lil ideas and HC’s bubbling in this empty bone cavern, I have decided to share them with you uninterested folks

Anyways, here are some HC’s for my bbg, James Spencer, also known as Lancelot, who had very little screentime

⁍⁍ He cannot cook. I love and adore him, but he simply cannot.

⁍⁍ Pranks. No one is safe, not even Arthur. He’s only still an agent because he is (was) so good at his job.

⁍⁍ Roxy’s uncle. The man spoils her rotten.

⁍⁍ Pure, unchained theater kid energy. He has a flair for the dramatic, and sometimes injects old-fashioned phrases into conversations.

⁍⁍ Absolutely loves dogs, never had to go through the dog test and has zero knowledge of its existence. Percival doesn’t have the heart to tell him.

⁍⁍ Prefers not to wear his glasses because “he doesn’t need them”. Also thinks that they negatively affect his “devilishly good looks.”

⁍⁍ This man is a dork and kind of a dumbass but he’s my skrunkly. My bbg. Perhaps even my funky lil guy (even though this man is much taller than my 5′1 ass.)

⁍⁍ Cares very much about his looks, one of the peacocks of the agency. On par with Harry when it comes to preening.

⁍⁍ He has the worst fashion sense out of all of the Kingsman agents, and he’s kinda extra. A few times he has almost gone on missions while wearing the most god-awful ties.

⁍⁍ Speaking of missions, he’s a bit of a wild card. He likes flashy entrances, fire, and explosions. There are a few times where he’s managed to level entire buildings somehow. 2nd major cause of poor Merlin’s hair loss.

⁍⁍ He also believes that Lee should have been Lancelot, and that he was only picked because he was the one who lived, the runner-up. Perhaps he suffers from a bit of survivor’s guilt.

⁍⁍ No matter how much he tries, he cannot/is afraid of taking things seriously. His first instinct is to joke or lighten the mood, or even dismiss what is mentioned because he is afraid. He’s so used to being the “fun” one, and just doesn’t know how to handle anything else.

⁍⁍ Very physically affectionate, in contrast to Percival. This man would give the best hugs.

⁍⁍ He’s great with kids, but sucks at babysitting because he usually goes along with shenanigans.

⁍⁍ Gets along well with Harry, and probably would’ve gotten along with Eggsy if it hadn’t been for his untimely demise.

⁍⁍ He’s like a golden retriever personified, and he hates sitting for long periods of time.

⁍⁍ He did not die, I am in complete denial, he somehow avoided death and comes back after Golden Circle. Maybe they find him while on another mission, or maybe he just shows up, I don’t know.

⁍⁍ Very, very out of the loop, but once he meets Eggsy, the two are certainly a force to be reckoned with.

⁍⁍ Tearful reunion with Roxy, who is also alive because I said so, maybe he’s a bit panicked because she almost died.

⁍⁍ A bit stunned that Arthur (Chester)  is dead, but oh well.

⁍⁍ Percilot. He’s lowkey had it bad for Percival for a while, but after he comes back boom it’s confession time, they get together, and they’re both happy.

⁍⁍ He’s so sweet with Perci and they love each other very much. Again, he’s such a dork I adore him sm.

Well, there we have it! End of Round 1. Let’s to a little Round Roundup before moving onto Round 2!

The Dolorosa tried to scare our favourite Egbert off, but- Well, Dolorosa was left in the past and Egbert moved on. On to Round 2, at least!

It was a brutal battle between the great and mighty Nicolas Cage and the underdog fedorafreak, but fedorafreak and his support pulled through. A God Tier battle if I’ve ever seen one!

The forces of Light and Void came face to face in the battle between Roxy and Aranea. Dark beat Light in this valiant battle, congrats to our winner Roxy!

The battle between Erisolsprite and Tavrisprite was not so... bright. Erisolsprite has his torment prolonged for one more round.

A battle between... brothers? Lovers? It’s not clear what the relationship is between these two. But either way, Trace wins the vote and moves onto the next round!

Caliborn and The Condesce face off in our next matchup, but it seems Caliborn just can’t reach his full potential yet (Will he ever...?). The Condesce takes the win!

Our two gun (rifle?) slingers are up next in the next round. And...! Oh, how the mighty fall! Aimless Renegade wins this duel!

Kanaya faces off against ARquius sprite, two wholes put together to make a new whole! And. Uh. Well, he’s more two halves now. Kanaya wins!

Rose and Marquise Spinneret Mindfang face off, a battle so blindingly bright that... Well, we know how blindings go for Mindfang, historically. Rose progresses onwards!

I liked these tags and they deserve to go here. Seems like Die can't really hold his own in a rap battle. Unfortunate. He's always been a bit chicken.

GCATavrosprite is scheduled to face off against Jasprose...! But decides to take a little nap instead. You know what? He deserves it. Sleep well our sweet little meow meow. Jasprose wins by default.

Sollux and Terezi are pitted against each other. To every Sollux fan’s despair. Sorry guys. I really thought he had a chance. Interesting first round, though, right?

Davepeta and Fefeta face off in a matchup that, once again, was met with a lot of despair. Davepeta would never do a thing to harm their dear friend (and half paradoxical twin? alternate self? sister? Whatever they’d be...) And spares her, not only in the battle, but from the rest of her fights. Fefeta never wanted to fight anyway. A “win” for Davepeta!

Davesprite kicks Bro’s ass lol. (Talk about closure...!)

Two tallguys in this matchup! A battle between Crowbar and Sawtooth. Both are pretty powerful, but the felt fans are stronger. #feltsweep

The battle between Mom and Cans is less of a battle and more of a landslide. For Mom. She punches Cans into next week. Taste of his own medicine!

Jack Noir battles Becquerel, in a test of who will become BEST DOG. And. Well. Its the dog. Its the dog.

Meanwhile, Snowman and Ms. Paint battle... to see who wore it best! And Ms. Paints sweet charm is just pure unbeatable! Onto the next round she goes!

Meanwhile, in the Jade and Rufioh faceoff... It’s a win for Jade. No contest, really.

Elsewhere on the battlefield two revolutionaries battle, to change their worlds. The Signless inspires many, and does a lot to help his people... But still, the Warward Vagabond moves more. And moves onto the next round, too.

Nepeta and Stitch are our next matchup, and...! Well, dear number Nine might need some stitching himself after this ruthless battle.

Gamzee and Grandpa, two Gs. I... don’t have any smart comments for this battle actually. Just the G thing. And Gamzee takes the W. Which I guess would make him Wamzee? Yeah, sure. That’s what I’m, choosing to say.

PM and Meulin up next! And... Woah, that’s a twist! PM caught Meulin sending some nasty hate mail. And did what any good Postal Mistress would do. Seems Meulin may be down another life...

The Insane Clown Posse prepare for one of their famed demonstrations, miracles ready, face paint on... But wait, who let this fucking cat in here? What the hell? Oh my god, Holy--

The ICP are dead. The cat remains, paws bloodied, face adorable.

Itchy seems to have the advantage in his battle, moving faster than any eye can see- but the Summoner summons his own loyal fans, and... the battle’s over before either of them know it.

There’s a bit of infighting going on in the Midnight Crew’s side of the ring, with Hearts Boxcars and Clubs Deuce feuding between themselves. It seems like HB should win, being stronger, burlier, and capable of eating a mans head off in one fell bite. But Clubs has something the big guy doesn’t. Clubs has a hand full of penis. And he is not afraid to get swinging. Ultimately, HB bites the dust.

Next up is the Disciple and Horuss. With the Disciple on the other end of the indigo’s bow, he falters just as his universal counterpart did, so many sweeps ago. He doesn’t shoot. The Disciple survives for one more round.

Two of Egbert’s guardians battle in a fight for supremacy, but there can only be one winner. Dad continues on... but not without Nanna’s blessing. He is her son, after all. And perhaps all she really wants is to see him succeed...

Aradia and Tavros participate in a battle between friends, but Aradia’s bold plays give her an edge that Tavros simply doesn’t have. Aradia wins this battle - and Tavros surely comes along to cheer his friend along for the following ones!

Jake attempts to face off against this blue babe before she has the chance to gain momentum - the only chance anyone may have to truly strike her down. But he can’t. He’s stricken down... The first one to fall against Vriska’s pursuit of supremacy. If he can’t stop her......

Meenah, like Horuss, follows in the footsteps of her universal counterpart, harnessing the power of the Ψiioniic in the hopes their combined power could do what Jake couldn’t Vriska lurks in the distance of the next round. One goldblood is hardly anything in the face of victory.

Redglare battles against a child and loses. Unforunate. Well, she had a good run. Before the tournament. Her run in the tournament sucked. Unfortunately. Sorry Redglare. Jane wins this trial.

Feferi and Kankri face off in a debate for the ages -- Or rather, Kankri debates at her, but her joyful outlook is too powerful to be destroyed by the redbloods gift of gab. Feferi rules over this round!

Calliope and Cronus participate in a battle of music, something I just decided since I think Cronus canonically makes music and Calliope is the name of an instrument. Well, Cronus is the one getting played this round. Calliope dominates the soundscape in this battle!

Kurloz and Damara get into an argument, though its hard to tell exactly what they’re arguing about because nobody else speaks troll Japanese and Kurloz doesn’t really say much of anything. Well, either way, looks like Damara won that battle!

Battle of the Bronies! It’s Dirk against Equius in this battle of pride, to determine who the ultimate pony aficionado is. And what do you know, Dirk comes out on top.

A battle between Leprechauns is breaking out on this side of the field. And its not really clear how the battle is progressing at all. Doze is moving a metre an hour and Eggs is just... kinda there? As unclear as the whole thing is, Eggs apparently wins this one!

In the next matchup over we have another one of the Leprechauns, Quarters, up against Latula, who doesn’t doesn’t hesitate to annihilate our turtle-toothed friend. Latula 1, Quarters 0.

And right there next to him, Biscuits gets swept too, annihilated by the smooth Diamonds Droog. Effortlessly. At least, that’s how it looks, and what he wants you to think. Will his next round be as effortless, or will this Diamond be done for? Only time can tell.

In a repeat of troll history, Dualscar faces off and against the Grand Highblood, and. Well. Heads off too. (That’s a joke. About decapitation. If it wasn’t clear). Dualscar doesn’t survive this round, but the GHB marches on to the next.

Next is the battle between two big story influencers, the arrogant Doc Scratch and the, uh, controversial Andrew Hussie, to see who reigns supreme. And Doc Scratch takes the cake this time. Sorry Hussie. Maybe next time.

Clover distracts matchsticks with a jaunty little jig and then Matchsticks gets flustered and fucking dies. RIP matchsticks. Clover’s moves were just too fire.

Karkat faces off against Sawbuck, who... Well, I’m sorry Sawbuck. There weren’t many people left to match you up with at this point in the planning stage and you got fucking murdered the moment you stepped into the ring. Your fans still love you though. Poor guy.

Dave and Mituna faces off in what was perhaps THE most despaired of the matchups. I’m sorry guys! I was running out of matchups that would keep the game both initially interesting and interesting in the future! It’s just the way the turns tabled!

Dave wins the round, but Mituna fans everywhere are united in their love for this goldblooded boy. He may just be the most mourned of all this round’s losers, but he is a winner in all of our hearts.

And lastly, the battle between Madam Firefly and the dear Firefly herself, which... Wait. Hold on. What’s this? They both tied at 50%? Serenity technically won by a few votes but the poll-holder had a special even planned in the case of a 50/50 and is going to enact it anyway? Well, that’s certainly something! Props to these two lovely ladies for sharing the win this round! And in the distance...

it's the perfect time to sit in a cafe and smell the seasonal pumpkin spice flavour wafting through the air (which, you have recently learned, does not actually contain pumpkin). of course, this isn't the only thing to do.

while this season feels like a bridge between the heat of summer and the ice cold grasp of winter, it is far beyond being a season just waiting passively for change.

you could pick apples at an orchard. bake a pie. try to navigate your way out of a corn filled hell. carve a pumpkin. prepare for halloween.

or you could go on a walk with someone you love.

the autumn season beckons your name, asking you to behold its beauty just before it passes. you oblige happily, knowing you won't behold it's wonder alone.

you put on a light jacket, before heading out to meet her.

GLAMROCK CHICA:

"you got these for me??" she pulls you into a tight embrace, which, while expected– still took almost all the air from your lungs. chica seems to notice- and affectionately presses a small peck to your cheek before she lets you go to catch your breath. her enthusiasm for something as simple as a pair of mittens brings a smile to your face.

"i know you can't exactly get cold– but! considering your hydraulic system can be affected by extreme temperatures, it might be helpful." you explained. she didn't really need to know the specifics of why you got them. just thought it would be helpful to explain.

what you were NOT going to explain was the fact you went to three different stores trying to find a pair that would one: fit right on her, and two: matched her style well. you had gone through so many options to make sure it was the best pair possible for her. your efforts were not in vain, considering how enthusiastic she was to receive them.

after helping her put them on, she pauses, looking at your own hands. for a second, she's still. she considers your hand in hers– your mitten-less human hand in hers.

"won't... you get cold?" she asks softly, looking up into your eyes with a softness that could melt even the coldest hearts. the tenderness of her voice, the concern laced in it– it almost paralyzes you for a second.

"oh- uh- well-" you stammer, blinking several times before properly responding. "i.. i'll probably be fine. no need to worry." you give her a reassuring smile. she only huffs in response.

"nope! i will not allow this!" she declares, intertwining her fingers with yours. "i'll keep you warm!"

you laugh, knowing her resolve is basically just an excuse for hand holding. "how are we gonna walk if you're holding both my hands?"

"you put it in your pocket, silly!" she giggles. "unless you want me to hold both your hands–"

she shoots a wink at you playfully. something tells you she isn't really kidding though. any excuse to be closer to you is one she'll take.

you laugh, with a shake of your head. "i hate to say it, but i gotta pass this time."

"there'll be a next time?"

"next time, i'll bring my own mittens."

she pouts at your response, unsatisfied.

"...and then, we can hold mitted hands." you finish.

grinning happily, she gives your hand a gentle squeeze, "sounds good to me!"

ROXANNE WOLF:

"ah, before we go–" you slowly pull put a folded scarf from the pocket of your jacket. "wouldn't want you to get cold."

roxanne eyes the scarf in your hands, before slowly leaning forwards, eyes now fixed on you. she opens her mouth to say something, but seems to hesitate.

"you.. want me to help you put it on?" you ask. it was hard to tell what she was thinking. you worried she might not like it, or that she wouldn't want to wear it but–

"...yeah." she says, snapping you out of your thoughts. "i don't exactly own any scarves of my own, you know."

"then i'm happy to gift you your first." you smile, slowly taking the scarf and draping it around her shoulders. you're concentrated, bringing it around once before adjusting the ends at the front. it's snug enough to keep her hydraulics up and working, but loose enough to be comfortable.

you notice, how she lingers as you finish tying her scarf. her eyes are on you, and you notice that, in just the same way that she had gone still, you're still holding the soft fabric in your grasp. how quiet, this moment became. you can hear your own breathing, becoming hyper aware of the soft rise and fall of your chest.

before you can say anything to her, you find her index finger and thumb holding your chin gently. she tilts your face up and meets your eyes.

"thank you.." she says, her voice quiet. you have never seen her like this. she was never soft spoken at all. in fact, she was the bolder one between the two of you. to have a sweet moment like this made your heart flutter.

it takes a moment for you to even respond, your face flooding with heat. "oh- of course..."

before you can say anything else, she plants a small kiss on your forehead. you can barely muster a sound, too flustered to speak or to even process the fact that roxanne had already pulled away, half way out the door.

you blink several times, before fulling registering this. "hey!- you gotta wait up!" you call to her, trying to ignore the ever present loud drumming of your heart.

"maybe you better catch up!" she calls back, snickering. you stumble after her, nearly tripping over your own feet to get by her side.

"ready?" she asks, offering an arm out to you.

you link arms with her, smiling. "ready."

COMMON MISCONCEPTIONS

Hm... I mean... there are so many misconceptions that border on the intersectionality of Roxy being a woman of colour, asexual, and other aspects of her personality and character. To start, women often get typecasted as the caretaker, the love interest, the sexual conquest, or get assigned gross and shitty complexes because people don't like to think that there are more dimensions to women other than being good/bad, pure/corrupted, messy/pristine, etc.

Again, these complexes are what makes me resent writing a female character, not gonna lie! People see that Roxy, fundamentally, is a good person. She has upstanding morals, integrity, and she fights the good fight. And people have it in their heads that she is an "uwu sunshine pure vanilla bean baby" ( and I will say her being ace doesn't help because people tend to assign that pure, virginal presumption to asexuality, which is incredibly ignorant! ) but really, she is kind and sweet but it doesn't mean she doesn't have a spine. The girl can have a bit of a mean streak at times!

On the other hand, when Roxy exhibits her more competent and ruthless side, people are all like "OH YES STEP ON ME KILLER QUEEN, YES YOU COLD AND BLOODBATHED GODDESS." That also bothers me because it also doesn't capture the full dimension of Roxy being a fully realized character who is multifaceted and cannot be pigeonholed. She won't always be strong, decisive, or cold, and she won't always be soft, warm, or affable. To presume how she would act or behave is simply... a grave mistake.

AN IMPORTANT HEADCANON

In terms of the meta, Roxy is not your typical hero. Yes she fights the good fight but does so in very complicated ways that allow her to surf within that grey area. Nothing is ever black and white in her world. And thus, she is more of a culture hero ⏤ somebody who can change / recreate the world. As a categorized Good character, she often wildly swings between Lawful, Neutral, and Chaotic depending on whatever methods or approaches suit the situation. She abides by and breaks rules, she creates and destroys, she cleans and makes messes, etc. All in all, it's to ensure that balance is maintained and restored, and she doesn't even know how vital her role is.

A USELESS HEADCANON

One of the things that will bear no meaning or significance in plots, threads, etc. is that she likes putting gummy bears with her ice cream. I dunno why, it just makes him harder to chew but Roxy likes that??? Weirdo...

POTENTIAL TRIGGERS

I mean in terms of triggers, there might be written literal or metaphorical gore as I am noticing that viscera tends to make its way into my writing. Struggles with mental health is also present in a way in which trauma is dealt personally and how intergenerational trauma is a huge proponent in Roxy's story. Of course in spite of all the supernatural BS she has to deal with, she is still very much a person dealing with things the best she can. Some of these fantastical aspects sometimes could bleed very well into relatability in which some take comfort in or it can be too much. I don't go too heavy with triggers in my writing, but that being said, I could still very well write some trigger-heavy things without knowing because everybody has their own lived experiences and everybody's traumas manifest in different ways.

SOMETHING YOU ENJOY ABOUT (WRITING) THEM

I think it's the growth of Roxy's character, I've rped her since 2013 seeing her actually grow from a teenager to an adult. It's a journey along with that, so was writing and finding my own voice and style as an author.

Furthermore, I actually like writing a character who has multifaceted and very flexible because it keeps her dynamic. At this rate, she's become more than what I had her set out to be and it's a blast to see where she goes!

Yea mushoku proper is back. That feeling of adventure and pure fantasy bliss that no other isekai can really duplicate is here again and I’m so happy. I didn’t mind the first episodes, but they def weren’t as good as season 1. These last 2 have been amazing though.

If Rudeus couldn’t get it up for Elinalise who literally fucks anything that moves, he’s definitely got a legit mental block. Poor thing. But going to the magic university is the right move. Not only will it help with that, but also his overall growth as a person which will make his ultimate reunion with his mother and Roxy that much more sweet.

Can’t wait to see he and Sylphy’s reunion as well. One of my fave arcs is about to start.
