Random 9-1-1 Thoughts

Listen, I love Buddie. I've been a Buddie clown since Eddie's very first episode. Buck made a face at Eddie getting dressed, Whatta man played and I went "...well shit" as my fingers took a life of their own and started writing fic.

I also adore BuckTommy, Or TEvan or whatever wierd name we're going with. The chemistry was beautiful, it felt natural and passionate in a way none of Buck's previous relationships have and I am HERE for it.

But if we are going to get Eddie having a sexuality crisis of his own...

Do you know what I'd like to happen? For Eddie to be somewhere on the Ace spectrum. whether sexual or romantic or both.

The man who has only really felt comfortable both romantically and physically with his late wife who was his high school sweetheart.

Who forms strong platonic friendships that to most outsiders might look romantic or flirtatious in nature, but the concept of which never crosses his mind.

Who moves too fast and fails to let that bond develop, or pushes himself into doing what society/family expects of him and then wonders why he ends up having literal panic attacks.

This man says he hates being forced to date, who stresses about performing normally on them. He judges his eligibility with women based on how much time he wants to spend with them, based on the idea of them, how much his kid likes them, not because they're attractive or he feels a connection with them. Who complains that sex complicates things, who gets teased mercilessly by the others for not being good at dating or knowing what to do. Who freaks out at the idea of being set up on dates and then promptly drops said blind date like a hot potato and yet somehow ends up with a new friend.

I'd adore for Buddie to go canon.

I'd adore for BuckTommy to remain canon.

I would go feral for Queer Platonic Buddie (maybe with extra Tommy) where Eddie comes to terms with the fact he's not broken or weird, that he's perfectly fine just the way he is, that he doesn't need to follow societal norms and can get everything he needs from those around him without having to throw himself into something alloromantic/sexual.

I also really feel like I need to write this so...I guess it's on the list haha.

Random Good Omens Thoughts...Again

I can't help but imagine the first time Aziraphale is out and about and he hears some passersby use the phrase "to climb someone like a tree".

I like to imagine he's confused by these peculiar fandangled modern phrases the youth of today are using for a moment...

Before he remembers staring up at a giant Crowley high on Laudanum as they lecture Elspeth about committing suicide and just thinks to himself...

Ah...yes now I understand.

...although naturally he would not have been able to climb Crowley like a tree back then, he was not wearing the appropriate attire or footwear for climbing.

Crowley promptly spits wine everywhere and blue screens when Aziraphale mentions it.

I kinda wanna plot a random multi-chapter crossover fic...where Crowley post Season 2, heartbroken and sore and lonely, suddenly finds himself trying to say "mavity" instead of "gravity" and realises some idiot has messed with one of his creations and that is just...not on.

So Crowley goes travelling determined to hiss at whoever changed the name and finds himself suddenly in the chaos of the 14th Doctor and Donna.

I like to imagine 14 and Crowley being immortal heartbroken healing buddies. Crowley helping the Doctor come to terms with the truth about his past, having his view of his people completely turned on its head. The Doctor helps Crowley come to terms with Aziraphale's decision and his own choices and the heartbreak of losing the love of your life.

And if Crowley yells "GRAVITY" every time someone says "mavity" even better.

He likes to pop out of vents or emerges from the shadows or drops down from strategic ledges to correct people.

UNIT are rather sick of him and are trying to Crowley-proof their building to keep him out.

They still haven't managed it yet.

I had this super weird dream last night and I think my brain needs to stop.

It was basically like a scene straight out of the David Tennant Cinematic Universe.

Alec Hardy, Davina and Anthony Crowley were identical triplets. In that age order as well, with Alec the eldest, then Davina and Anthony the baby.

Alec was the token cishet male of the trio, grumpy and snappy with health problems up to his eyeballs, who seemingly drives everyone away with his surly nature but who will murder anyone who looked at his siblings with even a hint of disgust on their faces. And then proceeds to verbally tear them to shreds until they cry. Very much became a detective to defend people like his siblings.

Anthony the baby of the trio was chaos incarnate. Like a chihuahua just not as small. Decided one day that their gender identity was "uhh...all of them?" and spends all their money on red hair dye and designer clothing and taking their soft angel of a partner for dinner. Also fiercely protective of both their siblings. Was ready to rage war on Sandbrook and Tess on Alec's behalf. Often threatens Alec's pacemaker like that will make sure it keeps working.

Davina was the middle child and the eye of the storm between two halves of a hurricane. When she came out and transitioned Alec & Anthony instantly swapped pronouns for her. If looks could kill, anyone who tried to flirt with Davina or spent too long seemingly trying to "work her out" was at risk of bursting into flame under the heat of Alec's and Anthony's glares. Davina's actually the one to be concerned about though, she'll give you a sweet smile as she snaps your fingers in half. Prepare for endless torture if she finds out you hurt her siblings.

Honestly part of me is thinking...what the actual fuck was my brain doing last night?

Can I take a moment between the exaltation of Bi Buck to talk about how happy and giddy Eddie Diaz was in this episode and how much I adore his new friendship with Tommy?

Tommy, who flew helicopters in the Army.

Eddie who's source of his PTSD was a traumatic helicopter crash during his time in the Army.

Eddie who had a breakdown when he found out his platoon were all dead. Eddie who had been trying to reach out to someone who understood his trauma personally but suddenly had noone.

And suddenly finds himself in the back of a helicopter with someone who could have potentially sat in that pilots seat in Afghanistan if the stars had aligned.

Sure they might not have shared the exact same trauma, but they have enough similarities and experiences to be able to understand each other on levels that others just can't.

Of course Eddie's gonna gravitate to that camaradarie for a hot minute.

🍄How do you come up with ideas for your stories?

A variety of ways, sometimes I get inspired to write an AU based on an episode of a show, or a novel etc. Or sometimes my brain just pops ideas into my head.

🍉Are you a pantser or a plotter?

I am very much a plotter. It's also why I don't often get much written because I need SO much to be planned before I can write.

🍒What genres/tropes do you find yourself using most often?

Fluff, 5+1, Domestic Slice of Life, AU's - I am an absolute sucker for AU's.

🥝Who are your literary influences, and have they shaped your own writing?

As much of a problematic person as they were, Anne Rice's first 3 vampire chronicles books were the books that got me thinking...oh I really wanna do this kind of thing. J R R Tolkien's descriptions very much shaped my own (i used to write horrifically long paragraphs). Neil Gaiman inspired my shorter style, quirky dialogue with inside jokes aimed at the reader.

🥕What's your favorite fic you've written, and why?

My favourite fic is a toss up between "Your Arms Are Like Corset Strings" (9-1-1, Buddie) and "Rainbow Coloured Monstrosity" (9-1-1: Lone Star, Tarlos).

🥨How do you overcome writer's block?

When I work it out I'll tell you haha. I don't think I've ever managed beyond just pushing through and hate-smashing at the keyboard, or just waiting for the inspiration to come back by itself.

🍕What's your favorite comment you've received on a fic?

Honestly as cliche as it might sound, all comments I get are my favourites. I couldn't pick any specific ones, I enjoy comments so much.

🌭Do you have any writing rituals to help 'get in the zone'?

I use a lot of notebooks, I also get really sad and make powerpoint presentations of planning. Then I either listen to music, or put on some series that Ive seen enough times that it can be background noise.

🍔What's a headcanon that hasn't made it into a published fic yet?

I HC a few things for different people but they're not exactly huge things, but have a few examples. I headcanon that Alec Hardy is a huge fantasy novel fan. I headcanon that Eddie Diaz has chronic pain in his shoulders. I headcanon that Aziraphale hates the scent of pine.

🍭What's been your most challenging story to write, and why?

I'm writing a huge multi-part reincarnated soulmates AU, in which the soulmates meet each other throughout history and have different names etc. and it's...taking me soooo long. And honestly it's just because it so long and has so many historical points I need to research hahaha.

🍬What's a genre/trope you've never written, but might in future?

I'm...not sure tbh. Theres a lot of genre's/tropes I don't like or I'm not comfortable with so won't ever touch. But the ones I do like, I've attempted or I am in the process of attempting.

🍩What advice would you give to aspiring fic writers?

Just go for it. Find something you really, really want to see written and write it, because at the end of the day you write for yourself first and foremost. If you try to write to please everyone you'll stress yourself out too much.

🌶How dependent are you on feedback, good or bad?

Bad feedback is never warranted. I do not write for profit so therefore do not need amazon style reviews. Nor do I ask for constructive criticism. I appreciate if someone wants to tell me they like what I wrote though.

🥑What are you currently working on?

I am currently working on a bunch of things: Doctor Who x Good Omens crossover - The events of "The Giggle" with Crowley tagging along. Broadchurch Whump - 2 entries, poor Alec is getting tormented. Broadchurch x Good Omens x Rab C Nesbitt crossover - Alec, Crowley and Davina are identical triplets. Shenanigans ensue. Buddie birthday gift for someone dear to me. Buddie soulmates AU.

🍹How do you decide a story is ready to post?

I finish writing it haha. I let it come to a natural stopping point and then try not to over think it.

🍊What's a story that changed significantly from its initial idea to the final draft?

My reincarnated soulmates AU. I've changed so many historical points and condensed some and completely scrapped a whole half of it haha.

🥠What's your approach to world-building?

Powerpoints. Powerpoints and mind maps haha. If I'm going AU I will plan it like I'm Tolkien creating middle earth haha XD.

🍎How do you prioritize which stories to work on when you have multiple ideas?

I don't. My brain goes brrr and tries to plan all of them at once to the point I can't work on ANY of them haha.

🌮How do you balance the desire to write for yourself versus the desire to write for an audience?

I have been writing on and off since I was 13, and I used to write entirely for the audience and it stressed me out. Whilst I enjoy audience responses and like to receive comments confirming that they enjoyed what I wrote, if I don't like it, I won't post it, but if I enjoyed what I wrote I will love it regardless.

I'm just on my lunch break, casually reading some Ineffable Husbands and I suddenly got a random thought.

Remember how Hastur got all cocky at Crowley's apartment when the plant mister dripped on his finger? Believing it wasn't holy water since Crowley wasn't hurt...

Do you think he panicked at the attempted execution when "Crowley" casually draped himself in the bath of holy water like one of Leo DiCaprio's french girls?

Do you think he had a moment of...oh shit was that actually holy water?!

i don't know why the thought just came to me but..hey ho.
