Remembering all of my Rune Factory headcanons

- Meg is bisexual (Meg calls Forte attractive while still being attracted to Lest)

- Arthur is autistic (SPIN is glasses, fixated on cute things) and on the AroAce spectrum('my work is my girlfriend')

- Kiel is nonbinary (talks about making cookies on Valentine's day and makes cookies on White Day)

- Granny Blossom is trans (no reason except I saw the headcanon a long time ago and liked it)

RF4 NPC Buddy Battle Buddies

So as I was going through the Buddy Battle Festival in RF4S, I got curious to see what monsters each npc has. Since I wasn't able to find an actual list someone else made for it, I reset the festival and wrote down what each character has. I also made note on which ones have names.

So here's a list of everyone's pets, for fun!

Arthur: Buffamoo, Elefun

Vishnal: Pomme Pomme, Orc

Named Sebastian and Alfred.

Kiel: Weagle, Chipsqueek

Doug: Troll, Hammer Troll

Dylas: Shadow Panther, Silver Wolf

Leon: Arch-Deamon, Elemental Emperor

Forte: Goblin Don, High Ogre Viking

Named Discovery and Endeavor.

Also mentions she has another named Lancelot but it's not stated what kind of monster it is.

Clorica: Tortas, Big Muck

Named Kotaro and Minami.

Xiao Pai: Buffamoo, Cluckadoodle

Named Menchi and Nabeshin.

Margaret: Fairy, Little Mage

Amber: Beetle, Flower Lily

Dolce: Ignis, Faust

Bado: Slime, Spider

Jones: Orc Archer, Goblin Archer

Nancy: Tricky Muck, Hornet

Lin Fa: Gigantes, Minotaur King

Blossom: Ghost, Sealy

Illuminata: Flower Lily, Flower Lion

Your Kid: Wooly ( No wool ), Red Dragon

Note: This was tested with a son, unsure if having a girl changes it.

I did a lot of resets but Porcoline was the only one who wouldn't show up, so I'm unsure if he has any. If you know if he does, feel free to let me know.

Part 5 of my RF4 child redesigning project: Doug!

For Doug we have Duncan and Siobhan!

For their names I wanted something kinda similar to Doug’s, which is a Gaelic name, so I picked similar ones to match the vibe.

Duncan’s personality matches that of the canon child. He’s always joyful, and loves to help people. Duncan enjoys farming specifically, and spends a lot of time with his mother in the mornings helping her. He definitely runs errands for Granny Blossom all the time and is usually found hanging around one of his family members.

Siobhan on the other hand is very grumpy and a little spoiled. She can be a little aggressive and very competitive, and for the most part is a loner. She still loves her family, of course, but likes to keep to herself. Siobhan is great at sneaking around, and usually sneaks out to go into the woods by herself to adventure. Getting in trouble won’t deter her, she’ll just bide her time and sneak out again.

I like how these designs came out, especially with Duncan’s outfit. I referenced both Doug’s appearance in RF4 and RF5, since RF5 had a clearer design (I seriously don’t know what’s going on with most of their outfits). Also Duncan’s ears are pointed, they just might be a little hard to see under his hair!

I did finally reread the RF4 manga with a proper translation and uh

I was hoping that the dialogue would indicate that the characters who didn't get a physical appearance do at least exist off-panel, which includes Blossom and pretty much every male character excluding Lest and Vishnal.

I know this manga is five chapters long and was merely meant to serve as a glorified advertisement for the game, but C H R I S T.

i haven't played rf5 so forgive me for any inaccuracies but i'm thinking about doug in that game.

i'm not sure how long it's been since the events of rf4, but it's clearly been a long, long time, where even the two who age much slower than the rest are noticeably older; so i think it's safe to say that everyone else from rf4 is now either dead or very, very old.

(did blossom succumb to her illness? was forte too reckless? does leon finally get to walk with maria again?)

doug travels the world now. how many people has he met? how long did he get to spend with them? he must have countless memories of them all. and yet when he has to recall someone from the past, it's not his family, or the empire who raised and then betrayed him, or the woman who took him in and showed him the love he hadn't felt in a long time. when he recounts people from his past, his first thought is dylas.

dylas, who he instantly butted heads with, who he was always arguing with and complaining about. dylas, who made him scream angrily until his throat was raw and sob until he ran out of tears. dylas, who he never managed to get along with. dylas, who sat by his bed for days on end, who gave him carefully selected birthday gifts and secret affections. dylas, who taught him how to fish, rough hands clasped almost gently over his. dylas, who he always admired from afar but could never admit that he loved.

(was it a peaceful death? was it violent? why couldn't doug just be human, instead of watching everyone he's ever cared for die around him? how many pieces of his heart has he given away, only to witness them breaking apart?)

anyway. i just thought it was interesting

Rune Factory 4 Birthdays

Not sure if anyone cares, but I calculated every character’s birthday (in our calendar) a while ago and thought I’d share it. I should note that you give or take about three days for all the birthdays (nothing is exact), so I determined an exact day based on the the relative distance between each birthday and other factors; one in particular I will explain because it’s pretty funny to me. They’re in order from January to December. Please tell me if I missed anyone.

Sure, sure! Sorry, it took so long!

Prompt: “I know you’re in love with him!”

The flowers are a new masterpiece each day, changing the frameless scenery, gazing upward at the ever-present sky; they are the warmth of the land that gives thanks to the warmth of the summer sun. They are the rainbow that arises from earth and water, yet can be nothing without those golden rays. Each day of these playful months will come in moments, the gift of the present, lived in barefoot dances, wind-tousled hair, laughter, and song… the layers of winter left in some forgotten closet.  

(Y/n) is a girl who lives in a house next to Kiel and Forte. She’s Frey’s best friend and she has feelings for Doug, the dwarf who lives with Blossom. (Y/n) isn’t the best with expressing her feelings but she didn’t know it was as clear as day to Blossom and Blossom has an idea.

(Y/n) had been in the General store for the past couple minutes, looking for what she needed. Doug was over in the Bath House and Blossom was running the store until Doug got back. Once she found the things she needed, (Y/n) went to the counter and grinned at Blossom, who chuckled. “Hello, (Y/n).” She greeted with a small grin. “I know you’re in love with him.”

(Y/n) soon blushed once she figured out what Blossom meant. “I-I-I promise you it’s not a big deal!” She stuttered out, covering her face. “I mean, I am but I haven’t told him yet!” Blossom laughed at that as (Y/n) paid for her stuff. 

“Don’t worry, (Y/n). It’ll be between us. I won’t tell him.” Blossom winked. This made (Y/n) relax as she waved goodbye and left.

Also I’m headcanoning that the reason Leon isn’t in RF5 is because he’s happily married to Frey and isn’t stuck in his depressive cycle of self-loathing and guilt, and is busing being the town’s lovable menace and #best dad, because otherwise I will not be okay 👌
