reymir OS {reyyan gets shot}
Preview: Reyyan gets a text from an unknown number that Miran-Aslan are fighting alongside the cliff so she goes there because she’s afraid for Miran.
—-
“Miran!”
One shot was fired, however, it didn’t come from Miran’s pointed gun. Both Miran and Aslan stilled.
They turned to look at Reyyan standing a few feet away from them, staring at them with hollow eyes and a bloodied hand covering her belly.
Miran couldn’t believe his eyes but he ran to her and caught her in his arms before her knees buckled completely, sliding down with her in his arms.
“Reyyan, Reyyan! Hayir! Reyyan!”
He kept repeating, touching her everywhere with his right hand eventually settling it down on her belly, over her hand.
“Miran..”
He looked up at her eyes.
“I’m in love with you.”
“I know, just hold on. We’re leaving, hold on, lütfen! We’re going to the hospital. I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry for everything. Just hold on!”
He puts some more pressure on her wound - she jerks and winces - before he picks her up and starts carrying her to his car.
“I wish we’ll meet in another life and everything will be beautiful. Life won’t be so hard for us,” she was speaking so low, Miran could barely hear her.
“We have this life too! Birakma beni. Just hold on, please please Reyyan! Seni seviyorum. Everything will be okay!”
In response, Reyyan’s eyes drifted close but there was a small smile on her face. A tear slid down her cheek from the corner of her right eye.
“Quick, open the door!” He yelled at shocked Aslan standing a few feet away, who follows through. “Take this and drive like a mad man, I don’t care!”
He throws the keys to Aslan who quickly takes up the driving seat while Miran sits in the back with Reyyan in his lap, trying to wake her up by calling her name over and over while putting pressure on her wound with a cloth he had found in his car.
“Birakma beni..”
“Reyyan..”
Miran hadn’t stopped saying those words, his cheeks stained with tears while his arms held the love of his life on the brink of death.
***
Miran sat on the floor, his head in his hands, thinking over every little moment between them right from the very beginning. Over and over again, her stunning smile and her words just kept going through his head. His legs had given up long ago. He didn’t care about anything but Reyyan.
Reyyan, the love of his life. His only person. Reyyan, who kept coming back to him despite everything he made her go through.
Reyyan, his only reason to live.
All he wanted was her to be alive and well; to be happy. He didn’t give a rat’s ass about anything else.
They should’ve left as they had planned. He should’ve been selfish and thought for themselves only. He shouldn’t have let her go far from him. He should’ve listened to her, been there for her.
All of her words came back to him; all the times she had warned him, tried to hold him back from his anger and his rash decisions. All the times she had tried to make him see sense and to protect them first and foremost. He barely got her in his life and he was already losing her.
He looked at his bloodied hands; he was the one responsible for not taking her away when he had the chance.
A nurse rushed out of the operation theatre then, “We need blood for the patient, unfortunately, the hospital has no more reserves for her blood type. Is there anyone with the same blood group?”
Miran was about to volunteer but he knew he wasn’t a match. He looked at Hazar but he shrugged helplessly and shook his head.
“Zehra isn’t a match for Reyyan either, Reyyan shares the same blood group as her real dad.”
“Tamam I’ll go get it! Don’t let anything happen to her, I’m gonna strange everything!”
Miran yelled and was about to head out to search and get things arranged when Mahfuz came rushing in.
“I’m a match for her, let’s go.”
Nobody said anything as the nurse led Mahfuz away.
“Allahim, what do I do? I have a daughter fighting between life and death, an unconscious pregnant wife and a sick daughter at home. Please help me, please help!”
Please let her live, please let Reyyan come back to me, safe and sound. Please let me see her smile again, let me hear her heartbeat again.
Firat took hold of Miran and dragged him to sit on one of the hospital chairs, patting his back and being a human rock for him. The only person who has always stood by him under all circumstances.
****
“She’s out of danger but we’re going to keep her under observation for 24 hours. Only one person can stay with her, granted they don’t cause the patient any stress. We like to believe a loved one being near help the patient get better,” the doctor said as soon as he came out.
There was no question of who was gonna stay. Miran was already heading in when Hazar called out to him.
“Miran.. please take care of my daughter.”
Miran nodded at him and went in with the doctor.
“Doctor bey, can I ask you for a favour?”
The doctor looked at him quizzically.
Miran swallowed, “This is going to sound unethical but for the sake of both my wife and I, can you please say she lost the baby?”
Even saying that - the possibility of it ever being real - shattered his heart but he had to do it. To protect Reyyan.
May Allah never have them go through the pain of losing a child.
“But she’s not pregnant.”
Miran nodded, “I know that and she knows that but it was a lie we had to say for some reasons. So, I would be insanely grateful to you if yo keep it as it is and just tell them what I said. For Reyyan’s sake, please do that and keep a cover over this lie.”
Miran didn’t want to repeat the unfortunate, heartbreaking thing again. It hurt him. He just wanted to get over this nightmare and have Reyyan back to him.
The doctor nodded, “It’s not ethical but I will do it for the sake of my patient’s health.”
Miran sighed, “It’s only for her. Thank you.”
The first look at Reyyan in the hospital bed with wires sticking to her body and her looking pale almost broke him. He leaned against the wall and clutched his heart; he couldn’t breathe knowing it was his fault she was there, it was his fault she got shot and almost died. Knowing that he almost lost her forever. He would die. There was no question about it. He would literally die without Reyyan.
Miran shook his head slightly, she was okay, she was alive and well. She’ll be better in no time.
He took small steps towards the bed, gingerly sitting down on the chair and just gazed at her face. Exhaustion was etched across her serene face. Tears kept streaking down his face as he looked at her face, then the place of her heart with the wires attached, then trailing down to her frail hand resting on her belly.
Reyyan’s heart had held through so many things, so many betrayals, lies and broken promises. No wonder a bullet was nothing in comparison for the amount of heartbreaks she had already been through.
He didn’t know if he could touch her. He didn’t want to get anything wrong or messed up. He almost lost her, he couldn’t take any chances.
“You can hold her hand, she’s doing fine. It might give her some strength as well,” the nurse whispered to him with a smile and a nod before leaving the room.
Miran was so gentle, so cautious with his first touch. It was barely a brush. And then a stroke, eventually turning into a soft caress over her fingers. He took her hand in both of his hands, cradling it with utmost care, before bending down and pressing a feather-light kiss on her fingers, one for each.
“Thank you for not leaving me. And I’m so sorry for everything. From now on, I don’t care about anything else except you. Everything will be okay. Just hold tight. Seni çok seviyorum, Reyyan. Always. Don’t leave me without your light, meleğim.”
***
Miran woke up to Reyyan’s fingers moving around his cheek. It was just a slight stir, barely there but his eyes fluttered open the moment it happened.
“Reyyan!”
She hadn’t opened her eyes and was visibly struggling a little bit. Miran caressed her hair and face, his thumb constantly moving across her cheek.
“Reyyan, bitanem. It’s okay, I’m here. Rest some more. Everything will be fine.”
There was a slight shake of her head, barely there, before she opened her eyes slowly.
The first thing she saw was Miran hovering over her with tear-stained cheeks. She tried to lift up her hand to touch his face but everything felt so heavy and exhausting. She couldn’t do much. But Miran noticed her fingers trying to reach up so he intertwined their fingers softly and pressed a little kiss to her forehead, lulling her back to sleep.
The next time she woke up, Hazar and Zehra were in the room while Miran was nowhere to be found. Zehra was laying on the couch while Hazar was sitting on her bedside.
“Kizim! We’re so thankful that nothing happened to you. We’re so, so grateful that you came back to us.”
Hazar tried to come forward to kiss her forehead but Reyyan held her hand up lowly. He saw it and stopped.
Hazar nodded, “You’re right. I don’t deserve you. I don’t deserve to hug or kiss you and I definitely don’t deserve your love. But I’m sorry, Reyyan. I’m so, so sorry for everything you’ve been through because I wasn’t a good enough father.”
Zehra woke up just then and came towards Reyyan.
“Reyyan, how are you feeling? Are you okay?”
Reyyan nodded, “I am. Please don’t worry and go home. It’s not good for you to be here.”
Just then Miran came in.
“Is Reyyan awake?” He rushed in and headed straight for her, cradling her face in his hands. “Are you doing okay? Are you hurting?”
She gave him her most genuine smile, “It does hurt. A lot.”
Miran sighed, “I’m sorry.”
She turns to Hazar, “I’m not going to stay away from Miran anymore. I’ve done everything that all of you have wanted but no more. And I also don’t want to see or meet anyone anymore except Gül. That’s all.”
Miran stands at the side, “Reyyan..”
She turned to him, “And if you don’t want to be with me then tell me and I’ll leave..”
Miran cut her off, “Of course I want you, Reyyan, what sort of question is that?”
She moved a bit on the bed and winces harshly, her eyes prickling with tears.
“Tamam stop talking. Go to sleep, we’ll figure out everything later. It will be however you want it, no matter what anyone says or do.”
Reyyan sniffed, “I just don’t want to stay here anymore, amidst all this revenge and hate, especially not when our little family is considered. I’m tired of paying for something I’m not responsible for. I want it to stop hurting.”
Hazar looked at Miran sharply, which didn’t escape Reyyan. Moreover, he held his head in his hands.
There was a moment of silence.
Miran swallowed, “Reyyan.. we lost the baby.”
Reyyan knew there was no baby, she knew it. And yet his words cut her deep inside. It was as if everything she had been through wasn’t enough, now she had to mourn the death of her fake baby as well. Even in her imagination, she wasn’t left alone.
She wanted to wail and cry her heart out, she did but all she could do was look at the ceiling and let tears slip out of her eyes while clutching the bedsheet. She gritted her teeth and tried not to sob because god knows her body was hurting so much. But now, her soul was in aguish and she didn’t know how to deal anymore. She didn’t want to be quiet.
Both Hazar and Zehra had quietly slipped out the door somewhere in between.
A sob finally broke out of her leading to a loud gasp and a wince from the pain of her wound.
“Reyyan, I know you’re tired, I know everything is wrong but lütfen I’m begging you, please calm down. Please think for yourself right now. We’ll have our family, I promise you. Please, please stay with me. Everything will be alright.”
Miran took her hands folded into fists and one by one loosened them up, intertwining his fingers with hers instead. Later he took down the guarding rail on one side and sat on the bed, half laying down. He turned to his side and kissed her tears away, replacing them with little kisses all over. Repeating new promises over and over agin with an assurance that they won’t be broken.
“One day we’ll be so happy we wouldn’t even remember these days.”
“We’ll have babies and we’ll see them grow into little beautiful beings and then adults.”
“Our lives would be full of light, love and happiness. Everything will be okay.”
“It’s enough that you don’t leave me without your breath.”
Over and over again, he kept talking to her while gently caressing and kissing her, hoping it would soothe her heart somehow, and give her some peace despite knowing peace was a foreign emotion to a girl like Reyyan, whose heart had been bruised and broken over and over again. He just hoped she’d carry through it one more time and would hold on for a little more. But he wasn’t sure.
Soon after, Reyyan fell asleep with dried tear streaks on her face and her soft, previously shaking hands clutching Miran’s big ones.

hercai au {part 2}
When Reyyan woke up, she found Miran right beside her. He was sitting on the floor, his head right beside her while his large hand was protectively held over her belly.
She had stirred very slightly but it was enough to wake him up but she pretended as if she was still sleeping. She felt tired and she didn’t want to see anyone; she just wanted to be alone.
She felt him get up and pressed the lightest kiss on her forehead, caressing her face with the back of his hand before going out of the room.
She didn’t do anything; just laid in bed. She liked the quiet and the stillness. She didn’t remember when was the last time she had that - it was always chaotic.
She was about to close her eyes and go back to sleep when she heard them talking. Hazar hadn’t left and deep down she didn’t want him to. Reyyan loved him too much and what really hurt her was the betrayal she felt. She didn’t want to see him but his presence quietened the demons swirling in her head.
She slowly got up and headed towards the door but didn’t go out. She just stood there and listened.
“Reyyan always loved books and birds. She loved telling stories, reading fairytales. You know, she always prayed for a miracle. She always wanted her own fairytale and she believed in it all along, no matter what anyone said. When it came to her prayers and hopes, no one could come between her and God. You were her prayer, Miran. Did you know that?”
Her heart ached so much; it was difficult to breathe.
Hazar continued, “She wanted to be a doctor. But, like everything else, my father broke another one of her dreams. He was never kind to her. All she ever wanted was his affection but she received the opposite. And she always questioned, always wondered, why couldn’t her grandfather love her the way he loved others. I didn’t protect her the way she deserved, the way I should have. No. She paid for something she couldn’t help and she didn’t even know.”
“Don’t I know it,” Miran added.
“None of us deserve Reyyan. She’s too pure, too soft and too kind for this world. I should’ve been more open with her, I should’ve told her everything myself. She gave me life, Miran. Reyyan was the light I needed. She filled the void that became a permanent part of me. When I first looked at her, it felt like I had the whole universe in my hands. I felt so grateful, so privileged. But then she started crying and I realised how scared I was. I had the world but I didn’t know how to protect her; how to never let her heart break.”
Reyyan was breaking away inside the room while her dad cried outside - a door dividing them two.
“She’ll come around. Reyyan is not unfair,” Miran had said.
“I know she will. Because that’s what she does. No matter what anyone does to her, she always forgives them. But what’s forgiveness when I know I‘ve hurt her so deeply? She feels betrayed. Her heart feels betrayed and I’m the one who caused it.”
Reyyan didn’t want to listen anymore. She didn’t even know when she had sunk down on the floor but she got up, quietly locked the door and went back to bed.
She didn’t want to see anyone.
***
This time around, Miran woke her up.
“Reyyan, wake up. You haven’t eaten anything,” he was saying as his thumb caressed her cheek.
It was morning now; the soft light filtering through the glass windows.
“How did you get in? I locked the door.”
“That has never stopped me before. Come on, get up, eat something.”
“I don’t want to eat,” she turned away from him.
“Reyyan, please, don’t do this.”
She didn’t turn to him, “I don’t want to eat and I won’t. Please leave the room, Miran. Or let me leave.”
“I won’t leave or let you leave until and unless you eat something,” he declared, his hand resting on the bed, caging her in between his body and his hand.
Reyyan angrily turned to him and sat up, leaning against the bed, “Can you for the love of god leave me the heck alone? What’s your problem? I said I don’t want to eat and I won’t eat.”
Miran sighed but didn’t say anything, instead he grabbed the bowl of soup.
“Miran, what are you doing?”
“Making sure my baby eats,” he dipped a spoon in the bowl.
“I’m not your baby,” she crossed her arms.
“I wasn’t talking about you. I’ve another baby to take care of,” he kept the bowl back in the tray and held out the spoonful to her.
She glared at him before slapping it away.
He didn’t react.
“Are you done? The door is that way, thank you,” she leaned back and waited for him to leave.
He did. He got up and went out but he returned a second later with a piece of rope in his hand.
“You got to be kidding me, Miran.”
But nonetheless, she moved away from him, to the other side of the bed and kept her hands behind her.
It didn’t help. Miran sat down, leaned towards her and grabbed her with one hand while his other held on to her hands, bringing them to her front.
“Are you insane?! What the heck are you even doing?! Miran!”
He gave her a look and tied the rope around her wrists while she thrashed in bed.
“You act like this and then you call me a tyrant.”
She slapped his cheek with her tied hands.
“You’re the one who fking tied up your wife! Get the heck out of my room and take your disgusting rope with you!”
He didn’t listen. He took the another spoonful of soup, held her hands on top of her legs with one hand while he tried to feed her with the other one.
She remained close lipped.
“Hadi Reyyan, open up. My little baby is hungry and you damn well know it.”
She didn’t listen to him. So he tickled her the slightest bit and the moment her mouth opened, he fed her.
“Finally.”
“If you’re so concerned about the baby then why don’t you carry it! Get out of my room!”
He shook his head, “technically, it’s our room. So well, it can’t happen. Open up.”
She didn’t.
“Listen, we both know I will do it myself if you don’t. So please stop being stubborn and just finish this bowl of soup. You need the energy to fight me as well.”
He tickled her again and did it.
She grabbed his hand on top of her hands, “Miran, I’m not being stubborn. I genuinely can’t eat. Everything is making me sick. I swear.”
He gave her a look, “But you haven’t had anything. This isn’t going to work out. Just eat a little please. And this was the only thing you were good with for the past week.”
She shook her head, “Not anymore. I feel like puking. Please stop.”
“Tamam. But please stop hurting yourself. Take care of yourself, you have to. The baby will be fine I’ve complete faith there but I’m worried about you, Reyyan. Please. Be angry with me, your dad. But don’t hurt yourself.”
“Says the guy who tied me up with rope. Get this off me!”
He shrugged, “I mean you kinda look good this way.”
She glared at him, “Miran, I swear to god, I’m going to slap you worse than before.”
He chuckled and leaned closer, Reyyan leaning back and laying down on the bed as a reflex.
“Don’t kiss me,” she narrowed her eyes.
His eyes did a once over before coming back to her lips and plastering a loud, wet kiss on the corner of her lips, “Love you too, babe.”
She hit his back with her knee but it only pushed him closer to her.
“Now, now, you can just say you want me and this -“
Reyyan groaned, “Just leave already. I’m tired.”
He got off her and nodded, “Yeah that’s exactly what happens when you don’t eat. But I’ll make arrangements for that.” He grabbed her hands and started undoing the rope. “Your Dad is in the other room.”
She didn’t say anything.
“I know you heard us talking, Reyyan. And I also know you want to talk to him. So please do yourself a favour and just let it all out. There’s no point shutting him out. Your pain will only lessen when you talk to him. Alright? I love you.”
He kissed her forehead before heading towards the door but her words stopped him.
“I’m coming.”
She got out of bed but the moment she stood, everything started spinning, “whoa.”
“Reyyan!” His arms were around her the very next second.
“Don’t worry. It’s okay,” she leaned on him.
He picked her up and lead her out of the room, “I’ll get in touch with the doctor and see if we can figure out something because this can’t go on for long.”
She nodded, tucking her head in the crook of his neck.
“Are you sure you want to talk to your dad?” He whispered as they stood outside the guest bedroom.
She shrugged, “He will be miserable the longer I put this off.”
Miran shook his head, “None of us deserve you and your beautiful, beautiful heart.”
They were about to knock when Hazar opened the door.
“Reyyan! Are you okay? What’s wrong? Come here!”
Hazar stepped aside and Miran laid her down on the bed, Hazar setting up the pillows behind her.
“I’m okay, babam,” she said, holding his hand.
He stopped fussing over her, his eyes welling up.
“You’re still my dad no matter the blood running in my veins. I’m just hurt that you never told me the truth. I love you and I’m glad that you are my dad.”

Hercai AU
“I don’t know how to tell Reyyan that she’s adopted. I don’t want to lose her, Zehra. She will be broken. She won’t want to look at me. I..”
The words just kept repeating in her head over and over again. Throughout her aimless walk, she couldn’t stop thinking about them. Reyyan didn’t want to hear or accept those words. She just didn’t want to process anything. It couldn’t be true. Her parents couldn’t have lied to her her whole life. How could it all..?
She looked up to find herself standing in front of her and Miran’s house. Aimless walk? No, her feet knew where to lead her and that was back to her place; to the arms of the man she loved and sought refuge in.
“Reyyan, what are you doing here? What happened? Why are you back so early? How did you even come?”
She walked right into his arms, keeping her head on his chest, her delicate arms wrapped tightly around his waist.
His hand caressed her hair, “What’s wrong? Are you okay? Does anything hurt? Please talk to me.”
Reyyan shook her head.
“Tamam. Let’s go back to bed and you can rest up,” he tried to peel her hands off him but she didn’t budge; only tightened.
He started walking backwards to their room instead but then she dropped the bomb.
“I’m adopted, Miran.”
He went completely still. But her soft sniffles were wracking through both of their bodies.
“I don’t have a father.”
Miran leaned against the wall behind him, slowly sliding themselves down. He turned Reyyan sideways so she was leaning against his chest, in between his legs, her head resting on his collarbones. His left hand rested on her still flat belly, slightly caressing as if he was trying to soothe their baby.
“It’s probably a lie, Miran, isn’t it? There must be something wrong. How is that possible? I’ve always had a father. And he has always been everything to me. It doesn’t make sense. It’s not true, right? He is my dad. And I know him.”
Reyyan kept shaking her head on his chest. And she kept repeating “yok” over and over again; as if saying that would change the truth.
“Reyyan, come here, let’s go to our room. We’ll talk about this when you wake up. Come on,” he was lifting her up when she stopped him, sitting back a little and looking up at him.
“Why are you so calm? Do you think this is a lie too? I don’t understand -“
There must’ve been something on his face which gave him away.
“You knew, didn’t you?” She took a deep breath. “You knew all along that I was adopted. You knew everything and you kept it from me.”
A bitter laugh came out of her.
“Reyyan -“
She inched back from his hands and stood up, “You knew all of it, the truth, and yet you didn’t have it in you to tell me? How could you do this to me, Miran? I thought you were done with lies. What is this?!”
Her voice was rising by an octave with each word. Reyyan wasn’t doing okay; she was bordering hysterical and he could see it all play out and do nothing about it.
“I wanted to tell you but I couldn’t do that -“
She cut him off, “Why couldn’t you? Didn’t we say we’ll be open with each other? But no, once a liar, always a liar.”
She shook her head.
“Reyyan please don’t do this. Come on, let’s rest up a little bit and we will talk about this. I promise.”
“What is there to talk about? The fact that you knew something so crucial and you kept it from me? What were you waiting for? Didn’t we promise each other -“ she hissed in pain and clutched her belly.
Miran was next to her in an instant, “What is it? Are you okay? You need to rest please. The doctor advised it too. We will talk later.”
He was leading her into their bedroom but she pushed him and stepped away.
“I don’t want to see anyone of you. Take yours hands off me! I’m leaving. I’ve had enough.”
She was heading towards the door when he grabbed her arm and twisted her towards him.
“You’re not stepping one foot out of this house. You’re mad at me, fine. Don’t talk to me, don’t see me. I will move away from your sight. But don’t you dare put yourself in danger,” he dug his fingers in her back to pull her closer.
She raised her eyebrows, “Wow look who’s talking about danger. The dude who left me knowing I will be killed? Whatever I do with my life has nothing to do with you, Miran bey. You didn’t care for this life back then, remember? And now would you look at that: the man you were made to believe was the killer isn’t the actual killer. The revenge you took from his daughter isn’t actually his daughter. The universe loves its games. Let go of me.”
She tried to push him with away but to no avail.
He clenched his jaw, “You can say whatever you want, I’m not letting you leave this house until you come back to your senses. You can’t even see what you’re doing to yourself and the baby. Or did you forget about the baby?”
It was harsh but he had to do it. Reyyan was in a constant defence mode, refusing to see sense. It wasn’t like her at all but it made sense given the context. She never got to know that her father wasn’t her father either.
This time around she pushed him harder when his hold lessened.
“Get out!”
“I won’t leave you.”
“I said get tf outta here, Miran!”
Exhaustion was starting to take its toll on her.
“No. I’m going to make you some food which you will eat and then go to sleep. We’ll talk about everything in the morning.”
Reyyan tried for the door again but this time around, he grabbed hold of her arm and dragged her to their room.
“Miran, let go of me! I don’t want to stay here!”
He let her go, standing in the middle of their bedroom.
“Fine but I’ll take you wherever you want to go. I can’t let you be alone and I’m so sorry that this is happening but I really can not let you leave especially not when you’re so vulnerable. Please, Reyyan, please rest a little. You don’t look well and your pain is going to go nowhere if you ignore it. I know it’s difficult but just take a nap. We’ll talk when you wake up.”
He was leading her towards the bed when she dug her feet in.
“Do you not realise what just happened? How can you ask me to “rest” and “sleep” when I’ve just gotten to know that everything I’ve believed until now is a lie. Did you feel like taking a nap when you found out the truth about your babanne, Miran? How could you -“
“I’m asking you of this because I see you clutching your belly and trying to find support to be able to even stand! You’re not even realising anything that’s happening right now!”
“And I shouldn’t! I just found out that my father is not my real father!”
Reyyan almost fell down on her knees but Miran grabbed her in his arms.
“Reyyan, bitanem, please just lay down a little bit. You’re not okay.”
This time around, she didn’t resist him when he picked her up in his arms. She was too exhausted and in pain; now that the adrenaline rush was gone she felt too ill.
Miran laid her down on the bed and she automatically curled up into herself.
“I’m here if you want me. Everything will be okay.”
She didn’t reply.
Reyyan woke up alone in her bed but she could hear the hushed voices from the slightly open door. They weren’t clear and she felt groggy as it was. Thankfully the pain had subsided for the most part but it was still there. She was just thinking of going to her doctor when the same words repeated in her head.
It couldn’t be true. She was convinced. But why would her parents be talking in secret and discussing it at all if it wasn’t true? Deep down even she knew but, just like Miran struggled with his truth, Reyyan was the same. But more than that, she was just tired of all the secrets. All she wanted was some peace and little happiness but she couldn’t even have that. She wasn’t sure who said it but she was starting to realise that maybe peace will only be present when she’s dead. But now she had their baby to look forward to; baby to protect, love and cherish.
She was just so tired. The thought of being responsible for another child who fully depended on her for its survival didn’t make lessen her burden.
A tear leaked out from the corner of her eye, as she caressed her belly.
She took a deep breath and got out of her bed - the same one their baby was conceived in - and walked to the door. However what she hadn’t expected was her husband and father to be talking. They both stilled when she stepped out.
The signature sad Reyyan smile was back on her face.
“Reyyan...”
Both Miran and Hazar said it at the same time.
She held her hand up, “All I ever wanted was for my father and husband to be at peace with each other. And now I finally have it. But at what price? Hiding the truth from me when all I’ve ever done was try and bring out the truth. Shame on you.”
She didn’t give them a chance to reply and went back in the room, pushing the door shut and locking it.
“Reyyan! Open the door!” Miran slammed on the door.
She didn’t respond. She stood with her back to it, clutching her heart.
“Reyyan, kizim, I’m leaving. Please open the door. You’re right, you’re right to be angry and upset. But please don’t do this to Miran. Don’t hurt yourself and him because we hid the truth from you,” Hazar pleaded.
She opened the door, “Tamam. But didn’t he know? Huh, Miran, did you not know? Then why didn’t you tell me?!”
“Because we told him to do it. We wanted to tell you ourselves.”
Miran looked at Hazar sharply. It didn’t escape Reyyan.
“Another lie.”
Miran intervened, “You’re right. I didn’t want to tell you because it’ll hurt you. He had nothing to do with it.”
Reyyan just shook her head, “The way you two are trying to lie for each other - protect each other - how I wanted this. Look I have it now. This should be the happiest moment of my life.”
Hazar stepped forward but she took a step back, “I just don’t want you to be alone, Reyyan. Evet Miran knew but this is not his fault. Please don’t shut him out. Please don’t be alone. I won’t see you for as long as you need. I will talk to you only when you’re ready. Just please don’t hurt yourself.”
Reyyan spared both of them a look but she couldn’t bear to look at them. She was so tired. Everything in her ached.
And before she knew it, she was falling. Everything was hurting and she wanted it all to stop.

Pendant and Apology {reymir OS}
Reyyan was zipping up her dress when the door to their room opened.
“Don’t come in, I’m not dressed yet!” She called out automatically but when she saw it was Miran, she relaxed. “Oh, it’s just you.”
Miran was standing in the doorway when he asked, “Should I go out?”
Reyyan shook her head, “No, it’s alright. I’m done anyway.”
A small smile graced his lips; this was a little step forward but he was grateful that their relationship as husband and wife was improving.
“What are you doing here? Weren’t you leaving?” She asked him, fully turned towards him now.
She looked so beautiful - she always looked beautiful - but at that moment she looked like the old Reyyan. The Reyyan who was engaged to him, who was head over heels in love with him, who trusted him with her whole being. He thought he had lost that old Reyyan but clearly not. Her stunning curly hair was pinned up and though he loved her hair free and wild, he loved what her pinned up hair symbolised: she was starting to focus on herself again. That she enough space to breathe away from all the chaos and destruction surrounding them. And he loved that.
“Miran?”
He shook himself out of his reverie, “You look breathtaking. You are breathtaking.”
She blushed. It was so easy to make her blush. He loved everything about her. He loved her.
“You came to say that to me?” She smiled.
He shook his head, “I forgot something.”
He stepped forward and gave her a long, hard kiss on the cheek - the sound echoing through the room.
She couldn’t say anything. He loved his effect on her. He wanted to stay longer and just openly stare at her but he had to get going soon enough so he walked towards the drawers and took out a black velvet box. He opened the box and in there were two pieces of jewellery. He took out the delicate, silver bracelet first.
Reyyan was just staring at him, puzzled.
He took her arm in his hand and put on the bracelet on her delicate wrist. It had a small sun hanging from it.
“Miran, what are you doing?”
“You’re the sun in my life, Reyyan. The light which breaks through the dark clouds over my head; the voice which drowns out all other voices; the warmth which strengthens and protects me. Please don’t ever take your light away from me. You’re the only reason I’m still alive and breathing.”
He pressed a soft, little kiss on the hook which held the two ends of the bracelet together, right on top of her pulse.
“You’re my world, Reyyan. Always.”
But before she could react or say anything, he went back to the box and took out a necklace from it. It was the same pendant which Reyyan used to wear with only a darker shade of blue.
“Miran-“
He cut her off by turning her gently from her waist. He gathered her curls in his hands before draping it over her shoulder, leaving her neck bare.
Reyyan’s eyes was glued to his reflection in the mirror. She was so lost in him she hadn’t even realised he had put the pendant on her until the coldness from the little piece and the warmth of his fingers enveloped her at the same time.
His eyes hadn’t moved from her neck while his fingers were working on fastening the hook of the necklace - giving Reyyan the opportunity to take her sweet, sweet time just taking in her husband and his love.
“Done.”
And then, he raised his face to stare at her in the mirror.
The pendant rested just between her collarbones, exactly where it was when they had met that first time.
“Your old pendant didn’t protect you well enough from evil eye. And most of all, it didn’t protect you from me and my revenge.”
Reyyan started, “Miran-“
He put his hands on the sides of her small waist, “shhh. Let me get this out.”
Reyyan’s breath hitched when he buried his face in her neck.
“I’m just so sorry for everything I’ve done to you. For everything that you went through when the only fault you had was falling in love with a flawed man like me.”
He pressed a small kiss just below the shell of her ear.
“I’m sorry for leaving you that morning.”
He grazed the bridge of his nose along side her slender neck, forcing Reyyan to turn her face to the side so he could have more access.
“I’m so, so sorry for all the tears that you shed. For all the broken dreams.”
He peppered small kisses all over the side of her neck, his hands tightening on the sides of her waist to the point of forming a bruise.
Reyyan could feel it, knew it, but all she could do was try and keep breathing against the onslaught of his overdue apology and love.
“I’m so sorry for breaking your heart, for breaking you. For lying to you. For not keeping all my promises.”
With his left hand, he lowered the sleeve over her shoulder and dragged his lips over her warm skin.
Reyyan felt like she would faint; she was too overwhelmed.
“I’m sorry for destroying us both. For not letting you become the bird that you always desired to be. For breaking your wings.”
He kissed her neck - the exact spot of her pulse just like he did on her wrist. Perhaps her pulse should acquaints itself with her beautiful husband too.
Both of them were barely keeping it together when he turned her towards him. His hands tightened some more on her waist.
“And so, I’m giving you this pendant in hopes that it will protect you and your happiness from envy and hatred but most of all from me.”
With that, he kissed the pendant itself, resting right between her collarbones, before he raised his head, stared at her lips for a little too long before attacking the place which demanded his love from the moment his lips touched her skin: her soft, lush lips.
Miran Aslanbey knew how to show his love both with his words and actions. Reyyan’s husband knew how to love her with both his words and actions.

“Are you doing this on purpose?” {reymir OS}
“Miran, I’m going out with a friend, okay? We’ll probably do some shopping, talk and then have lunch at a pretty place. I thought I’ll let you know.”
Reyyan tried to keep her smile under control and not give herself away.
He nodded, “Oh? That’s good. With who? Melike?”
Reyyan shook her head, “Nope. Melike is a little busy today. I’m going out with Azat.”
His whole face changed and he started shaking but before he could say anything, Reyyan picked up her ringing phone.
“Yeah, I’m ready. I’ve told your Miran ABI too, don’t worry. Say hi to Azat. Bye.”
His eyes almost bulged out of its sockets when he heard Abi with his name and no Abi with Azat. That was the point. She loved annoying him. And she wasn’t actually going out with anyone either. It was all just to annoy him.
“I need to get ready, can you please leave?” She gestured to the door.
He looked like he was about to strangle her.
“Did you just call me Abi? And say Azat? REYYAN!”
If he got anymore annoyed, the veins on his forehead would’ve popped.
Reyyan bit her lip to not smile.
She shrugged, “Well I was talking to Elif so.”
He stepped back for a second, took a deep breath and said, “you’re doing this on purpose, aren’t you?”
That was it. She couldn’t prevent the laugh that burst out of her.
“You are!” He shouted.
He was about to grab her but before he could, she ran away from him and stood on top of the bed.
“You think you’ll get away from me after the little stunt you pulled?” He raised an eyebrow.
Reyyan chuckled, “Well, Miran bey, you’re standing all the way there and I’m here. How are you going to get me?”
He shook his head and smirked, “You know me, Reyyan. I’ll have you soon.”
He lunged to the right side of the bed but she jumped off it to the left.
“You’re going to take forever catching up to me. Maybe your old age is acting up? I should find myself someone young.”
They both moved at the same time, again resulting in her being on top of the bed and him standing at the foot.
He narrowed his eyes at her words.
“Woman, you’re pushing it now.”
Reyyan laughed, “Anyway, I have to get going.”
This time around, he laughed out loud, “Who says I’m letting you out of this room anytime soon?”
With that, he jumped on the bed before she could process his words and caged her in his arms, right on top of the bed.
He held himself up with one arm while his other hand gripped her small waist.
“Now you were saying, Reyyan hanim?”
His victory smirk didn’t go away even for a second.
“Which part, Azat, Abi or someone young?” She blinked at him innocently.
Instead of replying, he attacked her neck with his lips while his fingers were all over her, everywhere.
“We’ll see what you have to say when we’re done, Mrs Miran Aslanbey.”

short Reyyan fic
“Look, since all of you had an issue with me: Dede, Amca, Yenge, Yaren, Azize hanim and of course, you, Miran - you who can’t even look at my face, who continues to punish me one way or another, let’s end it here. All of you are free to live your life now, without Reyyan. Dede and Yaren, your hate for me can die now. Amca and Yenge, you wanted me to die anyway. Miran, it’ll be so much easier for you if I’m not around you, right? Then so be it.”
Reyyan took the gun from Nasuh and aimed it at her heart.
“Reyyan!”
“Kizim, yapma! I apologise to you! We should have told you the truth. Please don’t do this. Let’s just talk about it! Rey-“ Hazar was about to go closer to her but she tightened her hold on the gun.
“Reyyan, listen to me. Don’t do this. Please don’t do this. I’m so, so sorry. For everything. I’m so sorry for all the pain I’ve caused you! Please don’t do this,” Miran was kneeling in front of her, begging and pleading but Reyyan didn’t care anymore for anyone else.
Her signature bitter smile took over her lips, “But my heart died long ago. I just didn’t realise it. I’ve been dead for so long but I was always so involved with everyone else that I didn’t even realise it? And neither did you. I’m so tired. I can’t breathe. I can’t live anymore like this. I loved all of you but none of you ever cared enough.”
Reyyan pulled the trigger.

Reyyan wasn’t sure what to feel. She knew that her new life wouldn’t be easy but she was ready to face it head on. All she wanted was that her past would stay in the past; everything else she would figure out with time. At this point, she was only grateful for an old friend she had come across, Burak, whom she hadn’t seen in past seven years. It was his apartment she was staying in while he was travelling for work which he did often.
But then Miran showed up. And now she needed to move somewhere else again. Miran might have proposed her for marriage but what was good a proposal when that person was already married? But more than that, Reyyan hadn’t forgiven him for anything. She hadn’t forgotten or forgiven. The only reason she had to leave Midyat was because she knew now that Nasuh wanted to get her killed but also if the news of her pregnancy had broken out, they would’ve killed the baby if not her. Her body or heart couldn’t handle the abuse any longer even if they had, by some miracle, accepted her. She deserved better. Her baby deserved better. She was going to fix things all on her own; little by little.
But Miran. What was she going to do with him? It wasn’t as if Burak had apartments all over the country and she could just move on to somewhere else. She also had to find a way to earn a living for herself; all this before the baby was born.
A lone tear fell down but she wiped it away and promised herself that everything will be alright. She deserved better. She was done playing by everyone’s rules. Miran just needed to accept that she would never accept him. He had to because she didn’t plan on ever letting him know about the baby. She wanted him gone, even if her heart ached while thinking that. That was for the better. And most of all, she could never go back to Midyat. She’d never let her child be subjected to all the misery and humiliation that she went through by the people she loved.
Just then, a knock sounded and a second later Miran came in.
“Are you okay?” he asked, taking a step towards the bed but then stopping himself.
She nodded at him, “I am. You can leave now. I’ll go home myself.”
“Home?” He crosses his arms across his chest.
There was something different about him; she couldn’t figure out what was it but he felt different. Slightly more guarded but also forthcoming? It didn’t make sense. She reminded herself that Miran was no longer her concern. She only needed to make him leave or she’ll have to disappear somewhere else.
“It is a home for me. Miran, if your apology had even a hint of sincerity to it then please leave me alone and let me be. That’s all I’m asking. I don’t want to be with you. I don’t want my past anymore. I just want to be happy and I don’t want you.”
She was making an effort to sit up on the bed so without thinking, he stepped forward and adjusted the pillow behind her back; his fingers barely trailing over her belly. The touch was so light that Reyyan wasn’t even sure that it happened. Her heart ached; if only things were different, that would’ve been a happy moment. Their baby would know its father. She tightened her hold against the bed sheets; refusing to think about what could have been.
“Do you have to meet the doctor again or can we leave?” He asked as if he had all the time in the world.
“Miran, did you even listen to what I said?”
“I did. And we can talk about it when we get to your ‘home’. Unless you aren’t okay? If you need, we can stay the night here at the hospital.”
Reyyan just blinked at him.
She opened her mouth to tell him off but instead he bent down and kissed her forehead, “I’m so sorry for everything.”
And then, he swiftly took her in his arms and walked to the door.
“You say you’re sorry but then you go and do things like these. Make up your mind already,” she huffed as she held on to his neck.
For a second, she really considered snapping it, just to check a theory.
“You called me Hercai, remember? But know this, Reyyan, I’m only hercai when I’m torn between doing as you demand and doing as what my heart wants. And when I ask for your forgiveness, it’s for my ugly revenge and all those tears and heartbreak you went through because of me. Everything else you can ask me when we’re at that apartment. Don’t tire yourself out,” he bounced her a bit in his arms, just for the heck of it.
Reyyan really wanted to snap his neck this time around.
***
She refused to let him touch her when they finally got to the apartment. But he did it anyway - a hand on the small of her back, holding her arm lightly or touching her hand - he made sure that she knew he was there. It wasn’t like his big looming figure behind her could’ve gone undetected anyway.
But the moment she entered the living room, she turned on him, keeping an arm length of distance between them.
“Miran. Enough. Leave now.”
He motioned to her room with his head, “You should rest up. We’ll talk about this later.”
She shook her head, “I’m not going anywhere until you step out of this apartment.”
“Look, Reyyan, we will talk about this. I promise. But right now you need to rest up, please,” he came forward to guide her to her room but she dug her feet in.
If Miran wanted he could’ve still dragged her though; she was no match to his strength and she knew that.
“There’s going to be no talk about this. You’re leaving and never coming back. Otherwise I will leave and go somewhere else.”
That was true. She would’ve worked something out, somehow.
He raised an eyebrow, “Oh? So you’d leave your ‘home’ because of me?”
She let out a sarcastic laugh, “You don’t take me seriously enough when I say I want you out of my life.”
Reyyan wasn’t sure what happened all of a sudden but he held her arm tightly before dragging her to sit on the sofa.
“You want me out of your life?” He glanced at her midriff for a split second before looking up at her eyes, “And how do you plan to do that? You’ll leave this place, I’ll find you again.”
“That’s why I asked you if your apology was sincere. If it was, you’ll let me be. If it wasn’t well then, you might find me over and over again but all you’ll be doing is begging for my forgiveness.”
He cocked his head to the side, “My apology’s sincerity has nothing to do with what’s happening now. It was for everything that happened before. And when it comes to begging for your forgiveness, Reyyan, I’m ready to do that for the rest of my life even if I’m with you.”
Reyyan froze.
“Please go to your room and rest up. I’m pretty sure the doctor must have asked you to do the same,” he told her once again.
She shook her head, “I’m not going anywhere until you leave.”
“I won’t leave you alone anymore.”
His words had a tone of finality to it and it scared Reyyan.
“You will. I’ll make you leave.”
But she wasn’t going to back down either.
“Let me see, by calling the police on me? Or would the apartment owner come to your aid? What was his name, Burak?”
She tried not to let her element of surprise be visible but she also knew it was there. She couldn’t help it.
“I’ll do whatever it takes to have you leave.”
She was getting up to go look for the cell phone but he stopped her with a hand held up while he took out her phone from his pocket and waved it in front of her.
Reyyan was just tired of everything; physically and mentally both. She wanted peace and happiness in what she hoped to be her new life but Miran refused to let her be.
“Miran, why are you doing this? I’m just so tired. Why can’t you let me be?”
His face softened and he was about to bend down in front of her but then stopped himself.
“I just want to be with you,” he said.
“That’s not love. That’s not how things work. But then did you ever love me?” She held her head in her hands.
This time, he bent down in front of her, “Will you tell me what the doctor said?”
She looked up at him. Did he know? But he couldn’t. He wasn’t there. It was just her. The doctor wouldn’t tell him either. He couldn’t know.
She took a deep breath, “Yeah, it’s a stomach bug. It’ll be fine.”
He shook his head, “I always admired your honesty. But looks like you don’t have it anymore.”
He knew. She was sure he knew everything.
“You can’t talk about honesty, Miran. It doesn’t suit you,” she rolled her eyes.
She tried to play it cool but her heart hammered inside her chest and she hadn’t even realised that on its own, her hand was cradling her belly.
She looked at Miran and he was looking right at her hand, he looked up at her the moment she removed her hand.
They both didn’t say anything for the longest time; just looked at each other. Reyyan was the first one to break eye contact.
“Leave, Miran. I don’t want to see you anymore,” she turned her face away.
“Too bad it’s not just about you anymore then,” he grasped her chin and turned her face to him, “why didn’t you tell me?”
“Tell you what?” She hoped it was all a dream and Miran was back in Midyat.
He let go of her chin and placed a hand on her belly; she tried to back away but there wasn’t much space she could back away to. So instead she grabbed his hand and removed it from her body.
“What are you doing, Miran?”
“I’m only trying to let my baby know that its father is here and I’m not going anywhere.”
“There’s no baby. What’s wrong with you?”
Reyyan’s heart felt like it would jump out of her chest.
He nodded once, “Alright. Then let’s call your doctor and see what does she have to say about the ‘stomach bug’.”
When she didn’t say anything, he said, “Or we could go to hospital again tomorrow and get some tests done. We’ll know if there’s a baby and if that’s the reason you left Midyat.”
Reyyan wanted to kill him. She truly wanted to physically harm him.
“Get out,” she muttered.
“I won’t go.” He was stubborn too.
“Get the hell out of here, Miran. I don’t want to see you ever again.”
He was about to say something but then he looked at Reyyan’s face and how her hands were literally shaking so he gave in. He got up from the floor and was heading towards the door when she told him something that stopped him in his tracks.
“There is a baby but it isn’t yours.”
But he knew Reyyan as well. And he knew she’d go to any lengths to protect whatever it was she thought she was protecting. He wasn’t going to hurt anyone - he just wanted to be there for them, for his little family.
And so, he reeled in his anger and calmly turned to her, “Whatever you say. We’ll be going to the doctor tomorrow anyway, we can check for sure. Good night. Also, Reyyan, don’t bother trying to escape your ‘home’. You’ll only hurt yourself and our baby.”
He hadn’t expected the glass that she threw at him which cut his right palm a little bit. He hissed and glared at her but all she did was get up, go to her bedroom and locked the door from inside.
She didn’t know he had keys made for each lock.
It was fifteen minutes later, while he was cleaning up his wound, when he heard a loud crash coming from her bedroom. It only took him ten seconds before he was in the room and heading towards the bathroom only to find Reyyan at the door.
She looked pale and distraught and was almost about to fall but she held on to the wall the same moment Miran snaked an arm around her waist.
“Reyyan! What happened? Come on,” he was leading her towards the bed but she resisted a bit and Miran let her have her moment.
“Let me go,” she used whatever little strength she had to try and shrug him off.
He rolled his eyes. He would’ve cracked a smile too if he wasn’t so worried.
He tightened his hand on her waist, held her arm with his other hand and lead her to bed. She was so exhausted that the moment she laid down, she closed her eyes and sighed deeply.
“Are you okay, Reyyan? Do you want me to call the doctor?” Miran tucked her hair behind her ear as he sat beside her.
She shook her head, “I’m okay. Just leave please and go back to Midyat.”
Miran whispered “ya sabir” under his breath.
“I’m not going anywhere. I haven’t even properly met my baby yet.”
He meant two people with that but Reyyan didn’t think so.
“Maybe you should’ve thought about your baby when you left that morning.”
She turned away from him and laid on her side.
“So it is my baby?”
Reyyan didn’t say anything; she probably hadn’t realised that she was caught up in her own little lie.
He placed one of his hands on her pillow, hovering over her the side of her face. He kissed her cheek and at the same time, he slowly curved his palm across her belly. She sucked in a breath but she couldn’t do anything. To her, it felt like she was being attacked on two fronts at the same time and that’s exactly what Miran wanted to do.
Reyyan might not forgive him anytime soon but it wasn’t like he was in a hurry. He’d take his sweet time with her but this time around; he’ll make sure things are only for the better.

“You left me that morning to be killed and so live as if I’ve died. It’s over, Miran. Don’t look for me. You no longer exist for me.
“If only you hadn’t done what you did....”
He couldn’t stop thinking about her words on that mere piece of paper. Over and over again, they kept appearing in front of his eyes while the anklet that she had returned with the letter burned the pocket of his slacks. It had been more than a week since she had disappeared; that letter was her way of saying goodbye but Miran Aslanbey was never the one to say farewell. The only relief he had was that Sadoglus didn’t have any idea about her either and so she was safe from Nasuh’s evilness.
He rang the doorbell again, hoping it would be Reyyan and he had finally found her after multiple tries and wrong addresses.
He wasn’t wrong. It was Reyyan when she finally opened the door.
However, one long look at him and then she was slamming the door on his face. If it wasn’t for his foot that he had jammed in before the door closed then he would’ve had to break down the door because he wasn’t leaving Reyyan ever again. If only she realised it.
“Reyyan!” He forced open the door just enough to squeeze in but when he turned to her, he found herself ready with a knife aimed at him.
“I need you to leave, Miran. I’m only going to say this once. If you don’t leave, I’m calling the police on you.”
He had dealt with angry Reyyan before. But this time around, the steel in her voice was something else altogether. There was something different about her but he couldn’t figure out what was it.
“Reyyan, calm down. What are you doing? Keep that knife down, I won’t hurt you. Why did you leave Midyat like that? You should’ve told me and I would have taken you anywhere you wanted. Why have you been alone?”
He didn’t care about the knife being pointed at him. He didn’t want her to hurt herself. But his stealthy steps inching closer to her hadn’t missed her attention.
“Stay away, Miran! Leave!”
This Reyyan was different; her eyes blazing fire, her legs in a defensive stance while her free hand cupped her flat belly. Her hand was just there; it didn’t seem like she even knew about it. He couldn’t make sense of any of it.
But he knew she wouldn’t budge until and unless he gives in. So he did.
He held his hands up, “I’m leaving. Put the knife down.”
She didn’t.
“Don’t ever come back here again.”
He kept looking at her; not saying a word. The moment her hand holding the knife went down a mere inch, he jumped forward and threw it away from her hand before spinning her and pulling her hard against him; his left hand curved on top of hers, right on her belly, while his other hand held her right wrist, her back to his front.
“What’s wrong, Reyyan?” He whispered; his hold tightening on her.
“Everything is finally okay but you had to come ruin it all over again. Let me go!” She pressed down on his foot with hers but he didn’t let her go.
“I don’t understand. I thought things were okay between us but you left. Reyyan, what is it?”
While her voice was hard, his was super soft.
“Miran, let me go,” she tried to break free from his hold but he didn’t budge.
“Not until you tell me why are you here.”
He was about to bring his right leg forward to curve around her legs but instead he felt her going limp in his arms.
“Reyyan? Reyyan!”
His arm on her waist held her tighter while his other hand caressed her face, trying to figure out what even happened.
Miran couldn’t make sense of anything at all. Especially with an almost unconscious Reyyan in his arms, he literally couldn’t understand anything.
He laid her down on the couch in the room before reaching for his phone but before he could dial the number for the doctor, Reyyan kept her hand on his phone.
She shook her head at him, “If you want to stay here for a little while, you won’t call anyone.”
“I’m just calling the doctor, Reyyan. Look at yourself. You’re pale and dizzy and if it wasn’t for me, you might have hurt yourself by falling on the floor,” he removed her hand but she kept it back on the device.
“If it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t have been here in the first place. You won’t call anyone or I’ll call the police,” she threatened.
He tried hard not to laugh but a smile broke through, “You can’t even sit up and you’ll call the police? Not to mention they can’t do anything when you’re my wife.”
“Your wife is in Midyat, not here.”
Miran clenched his jaw and glared at her, knowing he couldn’t say anything to that.
“You won’t call the doctor.”
He gave her a long, hard look but listened to her.
Reyyan took a deep breath once his phone was away, her hand rubbing her belly over and over again; unconsciously.
They didn’t talk for a long while. She looked at anywhere but him and he looked at her the whole time. But then, a tear leaked out from the corner of her eyes while her face remained the same.
What had he done to her for his sick revenge? His life was already ruined but he ruined hers as well. He left her to be killed. She did no wrong to anyone but it was her who paid the price for all of it. He destroyed them and their lives by himself. But more than that, he crushed Reyyan. He left her no refuge. If it wasn’t for him, she wouldn’t have been hiding from everyone. If it wasn’t for him, she wouldn’t have been crying right now. But he made those tears her companion. She told him she wasn’t afraid of anything when he was next to her but he was next to her and she refused to even look at him.
He hadn’t realised he had started crying too. But no more. He promised himself that she’ll only receive good things from him and that’s how it’ll be.
“Reyyan..” he took one of her hands in his but she snatched it out of his hands and put it back on her belly and turned away from him.
He kept his left hand on top of her hands - stopping her from caressing herself - and brushed her face with the back of his right hand.
He didn’t say anything for a long while and she didn’t pull away from him either.
“I’m sorry, Reyyan. I’m sorry for every single thing that I’ve done. I’m sorry for lying to you and I’m so, so sorry for hurting you. I’m sorry for taking revenge from you for something you had no fault in. I’m just so sorry for all of it; for everything.”
Reyyan didn’t give him a response but he wasn’t waiting for anything. For the first time in his life, he was doing something just for the other person. He wasn’t apologising so he could have her back - a mere apology couldn’t fix anything - but he hoped that this would be the start of a long journey of her healing.
“If I could, I would go back to that morning and never leave you. If I could, I would’ve been honest from the start. If I could, I would’ve protected you from everything, Reyyan.”
She didn’t say much but he could feel the tremble in her fingers and witness how her lips wobbled.
“I’m responsible for everything that I’ve done. For everything you went through, I’m the culprit. But know this, Reyyan, I had loved you before I even knew who you were. I wanted my revenge but my feelings for you were never a lie. I’m not a good man, Reyyan, but you know that already. I just want you to know that while everything was a lie, my heart was true. My feelings were true. I just didn’t understand until I had lost you. And I’m just so sorry. For losing you, for hurting you, for everything that has happened. I don’t know how to ask for forgiveness from you but know that I’m so, so sorry. And I’ll spend my entire life making up to you.”
“You left me for dead, Miran. You left me so my b— I could be killed. Do you realise that? You’re the man who wanted me to be killed so you can have your revenge when I had done nothing to you and your family. And now you’re asking for my forgiveness? Please save yourself the trouble and leave.”
Reyyan shook his hands off her and sat up on the couch.
“I will never forgive you. But now you’re no longer important to me. I’m starting a new life here and I don’t want the shadow of my past life anymore. Please leave.” She looked straight ahead as she said that. But Miran didn’t get up.
Instead he inched closer to her and wrapped his hands on the sides of her waist. She stiffened but refused to meet his eyes.
“Just let me do this for a minute and I’ll leave. Just let me hold you once before I leave.”
And then the next moment, he was burying his head in the crook of her neck; breathing her in, savouring the moment. His arms around her small waist; bringing her closer to himself as much as he could.
And she let him. She let him hold her for as long as he wanted, not knowing that he would come back for her again but he didn’t promise her otherwise either.
“I’m just so sorry for everything.”
He placed a small kiss on her neck; his lips lingering there for what seemed like forever to Reyyan but was only a second to Miran.
And then he let her go.
Just for one more day.

The next day, Miran was standing inside the apartment. He already had a man posted outside her apartment and gotten a new key made as well. He had rung the bell but Reyyan wasn’t opening the door for whatever reason and so he used his key to get in.
There was a packed suitcase lined up on one side of the living room while he could only hear Reyyan somewhere inside the rooms. Was she leaving again? Why was she running away from him when things were finally getting better? He wanted to marry her and be with her until his last breath. But he didn’t know what was up with her. He remembered the smile she had on her face when she saw the hut; how she had talked about the Miran she fell in love with. Sometimes he wished it was that easy for him to talk about his feelings like Reyyan made it seem like. But it took him months to apologise and admit to her that he regretted everything even when he had already done the same thing to numerous people.
When Reyyan finally came out, a big box in her hand, she almost fell back in surprise when she saw him standing there.
“Who let you in?” She kept the box down before facing him.
He ignored that.
“Are you going somewhere else, Reyyan?”
She spared a look to her suitcase before meeting his eyes, confirming what he had asked.
“Why’re you here, Miran? Please leave. I don’t want to see you anymore.”
For a millisecond, her face contorted in pain and she held a hand to her belly but right after she stood straighter, facing him.
“You’re here. I have no other place besides you. Please tell me what’s wrong. Just tell me why did you leave your family? What happened, Reyyan? You know I hate your family and if it wasn’t for you I would have followed through with my revenge but you love them so why would you leave them?” He came forward, his hands held out but she took a step back; a hand holding her midriff while the other held on to the back of the couch.
Miran didn’t miss any of those details.
Reyyan was about to reply but before she could, another wave of pain hit her and she clutched her belly even tighter.
“Reyyan!” He wrapped an arm around her waist, holding her up while she cried.
She didn’t even care that he was holding her up.
“We’re going to the hospital,” he announced but Reyyan refused to move.
She shook her head, “I’m not going anywhere. It’s just a stomach bug, it’ll be fine.”
“Of course it’ll be but we’re going to see the doctor anyway or I’m calling one here. You choose.”
His voice left no room for arguments; it was one or the other. But Reyyan was never the one to listen to him.
“I won’t go anywhere.”
Miran glared at her before bending down, hooking an arm under her legs and lifting her up in his arms; doing a little bounce when he held her securely.
“And then you say I’m a tyrant when it’s always you who’s forcing me. Shut up.”
But it wasn’t like she could say anything anyway; she was squirming in pain, unconsciously burying her face in the crook of his neck; her forehead touching the skin of his neck while her lips were settled on his collarbone, creating a certain refuge for her with the same man who had ruined her life.
***
While Miran mostly ignored Reyyan and her demands, “stubbornness” as he liked to call it, he listened to her when she asked him to let her deal with the doctor on her own. He didn’t want to leave her and he intended to know everything that was wrong but he let her have that. She was already physically and emotionally hurting; he didn’t want to add more to her pain not when he already didn’t have enough time to make up for everything he made her go through.
However, he was never a man of morals. And so, he eavesdropped on their conversation. He was keeping his promise to Reyyan; she was handling everything on her own, he was just listening in.
“Please don’t tell him anything about this. I’m the only person who’s supposed to know about this,” Reyyan was saying when he tuned in, making sure to hide himself.
“Of course but Reyyan, you need someone to take care of you. I understand all of it but please you can’t go on like this. All those times you’ve been abused; it’s not just the marks that are on your body. There has been so much internal damage I don’t even know how your-“
The doctor was cut off by Reyyan.
“I know and I don’t know how that’s possible either but right now I’m here and I’m okay and my baby is okay...”
Everything else that Reyyan said after that was a blur to Miran. He couldn’t fathom. He couldn’t make sense of anything. Had she really said “baby”? Were they having a child? He clutched his head in his hands, pulling at his hair. A baby. He was having a baby with Reyyan. He couldn’t believe it.
“Don’t tell him anything please. I promise you I’ll take better care of myself. I’ll do everything. It’s my baby; I’m going to cherish and protect it forever,” Reyyan was saying.
“Of course you will. I’m assuming you’d like to let your husband know yourself so I’m keeping this surprise for you. But please, please take care of yourself. Things already aren’t good for the two of you - not just the baby but you as well.”
Those were the last words he heard before he had to leave from there and just breathe. The two of them were having a baby; a part of him wanted to jump in joy and celebrate but there was the other part who mourned and screeched at the thought of her keeping it a secret from him. Mourned the loss of what they could have been if only he hadn’t gone through with his revenge.
But he was going to fix things for them. He would do everything it’ll take to protect, love and cherish his little family. He was done doing what others wanted; now it’ll be just her, him and their baby.

Karma {reymir OS}
[Preview: Azize-Reyyan make a deal that she’ll marry Miran if Azize leaves Azat and her family alone. Reymir get married without Miran or Sadoglus knowing anything.]
Reyyan looked at herself in the mirror and once again, she couldn’t help thinking back to her fake wedding with Miran. That was a fairytale. This was not. Even though this time around, it was the opposite for them. Miran thought this was his fairytale but this time around it was Reyyan’s deal with Azize which lead her to standing in his room, in the wedding dress he got for her. It wasn’t one that Yaren ruined but a figure hugging, floor length lace dress with full sleeves.
She shook herself out of her reverie and worked on the top button of her dress and the zipper. But it was stuck and she needed to figure out fast what to do before Miran comes back. She intended to be out of her wedding dress and asleep by the time he comes. God knew her confrontation with him in the morning would take her all. But most of all, she didn’t want a repeat of the night spent in the hut. Not yet.
She was about to text Elif to help her but just then Miran entered the room, without knocking.
The moment he came in, his eyes did a slow once-over starting from her bare feet to her eyes, lingering a second too long on her lips. She was finally his wife, in his room, in the wedding dress he got for her. Everything was perfect.
Reyyan glared at him, “There’s a thing called manners, Miran bey. Maybe you should enroll yourself in a course since all you learned was revenge.”
Miran took in a sharp breath but remained calm. He wasn’t going to ruin their wedding night.
“Do you need help with your dress?” He asked instead, seeing her toying with button in the mirror behind her.
She shook her head, “Elif is coming to help me.” She was lying but he didn’t need to know that.
He raised his eyebrows, “Is that so? Give me a minute.”
He took out his phone, called Elif, “You don’t need to come, I’m here,” and hung up.
“I’ll help,” he took a step forward but she took a step back.
He noticed. Of course, he noticed.
“Reyyan?”
She shook her head, “I’ll figure it out. Good night.”
Miran sighed. They might’ve gotten married but that didn’t mean it was going to be rainbows and sunshine for them. It was going to take a long time but that didn’t mean he had to sit still.
Reyyan had to walk past him in order to get to the bathroom so she straightened up, took a deep breath and walked.
But Miran grabbed her arm when she was about to walk past him, “Reyyan, don’t be like this please. I’ll help you out. I know you’re still angry at me but please let me do this for you.”
His grip on her arm was light enough to shrug off. Reyyan wanted to argue, to fight him on every single thing there was but she had all the time to do that now that they were married. So she nodded and turned to the mirror, her back to Miran.
Miran stepped forward, all the while looking at her in the mirror. What he wanted to do was pull her against him and kiss her but he knew she would slit his throat if he did that so he controlled himself. As much as he could.
Reyyan wanted to be anywhere but here; maintaining eye contact with him over her shoulder. She wanted to look away; to escape his smouldering gaze but she knew he’d consider that a win and Reyyan was done with that.
He took the mass of her curls and swept them on her shoulder before opening the top hook of the dress.
“I’ll take it from here.”
Reyyan was about to take a step forward when Miran’s hand snaked around her waist and pulled her back.
He didn’t take his eyes off her.
“Breathe, Reyyan. I’m not doing anything that you don’t want me to,” he whispered.
He took the top of the zipper and started sliding down with an agonising slowness, his left hand firmly placed on her midriff, his eyes on her the whole time.
Reyyan moved away the moment the zip was open to her lower back and turned around so she faced Miran while her bare back faced the mirror.
“Enough. Can you please leave?” Reyyan murmured, not shying away from his intense gaze.
He shook his head, his eyes flicking to the mirror and back.
Reyyan closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Reminded herself that he didn’t know about the deal.
“Fine, I’ll leave.”
However, she couldn’t go past few steps. Miran snaked his arm around her waist and pulled her towards him; his big, warm hand splayed on her bare back.
“We’re married, Reyyan. You’re finally my wife. Please don’t be like this. Please don’t shut me out any longer.”
Reyyan tried backing away, pushing at his shoulder but he only pulled her closer; chest to chest, a hairsbreadth of space between them.
“Miran, let me go.”
He shook his head, “I didn’t do that before how do you expect me to do this when we’re married by our own choice?”
Reyyan didn’t want to do this right now but she had to.
She put all her energy and pushed him away from her; since he didn’t expect that, it proved to be much easier.
Reyyan let out a bitter laugh, “Choice? You’re talking about choice? Miran, I never had any choice. I thought I will once I’ll get married to you; I thought I’ll be happy, safe, protected. But you took whatever little life I had in me and crushed it even further.”
He was about to interrupt her when she held up her hand.
“Shut up. For once in your life just stay quiet and listen. So what did you say? Choice. Everything that has happened ever since you’ve come in my life has been one big non-choice fest. You took over me the moment I found myself in your car. Even when I didn’t want to marry you I couldn’t do anything about it. And now? It isn’t anything different.”
But it was Miran, he didn’t know how to stay quiet.
“What are you talking about?” He took a step back from her, dreading her next words.
Reyyan smirked in pity, “Your precious grandmother made a deal with me. Or let’s say, she forced me into this marriage so she won’t kill Azat. And I added that if I marry you, all feuds will end.”
He shook his head, “you’re lying.”
She crossed her arms over her chest, the dress still open from the back and the sleeves starting to slide off her arms slightly.
“Your precious revenge won’t be happening any longer. That must’ve come as a shock to you.”
In one smooth step, he grabbed her by the arms and brought her flushed against him.
“When are you going to stop, Reyyan?”
“Let me go, Miran!” She struggled against his arms but he only tightened his grip.
“When are you going to accept my-“
“Your what? The apology that never existed? Or the love which you confessed when we were engaged, you know, when everything was a lie?”
He didn’t say anything.
“Let me go now,” she pushed at his chest harder.
He pulled her even closer against himself before letting her arm go and keeping his hand on her bare back, his grip tight.
Reyyan sucked in a breath; the warmth of his palm searing through her.
With his other arm, he took hold of both of her hands and held them to the side as he leaned in on her neck; his fingers on her back caressing over and over again.
“If you think this deal did me any harm, you’re wrong. I have you right where I wanted you: in between my arms, in my room, as my wife. I’m not letting you go anywhere, Reyyan. So you might as well get used to me now because I’ll be in your space forever.”
He placed a feather light kiss just below her ear before he let go.
