(idk if it’s just me but personally fhh is far more loved and appreciated than flf mainly bec of all the characters involved and each one of them had a distinct personality and had such great chemistry with everyone else! in comparison i think flf lacked that kind of character depth apart from rosalind - and orion, to some extent.)

i lowkey wasn’t an Oliver hater but at the same time he was a bit annoying and I felt bad for Celia bec of all his secrets and stoic attitude but anyway fhh has had me wanting more of him so pls recommend some Oliver fics, thank you.

(I’m happy that we got some Orion Oliver bits i was miserable bec of their platonic angst and animosity which - completely understandable and relatable - feels so much more agonising now given what we know about those two.)

no but fr i really wanted some Rosalind Oliver scene especially bec of how Orion said they’re similar to each other and I just wanted to see it play out (i’m pretty sure though that it would make Orion 100% jealous or at least annoyed).

No but the concept of a Celia and Orion friendship or an Oliver and Rosalind friendship is so comical to me. I don't know why. I just crack up at the thought of it.

rosalind’s perception of herself and her life and that quote, “all she had ever known was love wielded as a weapon, love wielded as a falsity to lower her guard,” is the reason why orion’s daffodils feel like such a full-circle moment. his devotion to rosalind comes from a never ending reserve and it shows up in the tiniest of things such as orion having a meltdown and making sure that rosalind carries her favourite daffodils as she walks down the aisle to him.

[also not just romantic love but also platonic love as well…. Juliette and Roma sending people to their aid, Celia making sure Rosalind is safe and sound, Alisa showing up for her time and again. she’s so, so loved and she’s finally letting herself bask in that warmth.]

Rosalind Lang really is the character of all time. afraid of the world while wanting so desperately to be loved by it to be loved by something by someone, to be loved in a way that matters. she will die for love and she almost does, it almost ruins her. so she deprives herself of it, as punishment and as salvation, decides that it's not worth the damage, and she gives herself no mercy, taking on the weight of more than just her own consequences and doesn't cut it loose even as she uses her pain to do something good, to make things right. she was so young and so alone in a world where she was just something to sparkle, something to be used, and of course she'd be desperate for something more, but she doesn't give herself the luxury of pity or forgiveness over that vulnerability. and it's absolutely devastating to be inside her head because you just want to grab her by the shoulders and make her believe that she is good and worthy of something tremendous and that the weight of the world (or her city) is not her burden and she deserves to rise from the ashes of her past. she's just so...

guwon is constantly letting everyone know how weak and insignificant he considers humans to be — how disgusted he is by how emotionally driven they are, and how much he prides himself in being The Demon — a being that is above all humans, a being that is significant for born mortal and immortal beings

i think after years and decades and centuries of making deals with desperate and sometimes malicious humans, guwon’s view of humankind started shifting towards the negative.

he sees them as these selfish, greedy, self-obsessed beings, who think they can cheat their way out of life. out of death. out of anything if they could just make a deal with the devil — for whatever price.

and then he meets dohee. he’s forced to be with her, forced to start feeling these human emotions; a weakness.

and he struggles with them

but i think the last thing he ever expected, was to have a human, one of those selfish greedy beings, willingly give up on their dream, something he assumes is worth making a deal with the devil for, for him.

to save him.

to keep him safe; alive.

and it’s just. a lot. it never even crossed his mind — the way he reacted when seokhoon finally shouted it at him. it was the last thing he ever expected to hear — heck it wasn’t even a viable option in his mind

and yet that’s exactly what happened. a human, one those creatures whose greediness and selfishness he’s spent over two centuries exploiting, gave something up — for him.
