He walked through the curtain Knowing he was going to face a ton of boos, I knew what he was gonna say but no one else in the back did. He aura was different. I wasn't sure how it was gonna go over. His speech to the ground was heart breaking to me because I knew what was coming "I've been living with leukemia for 11 years and unfortunately it's back" he said "but by no means is this a retirement speech! I will beat this and you will see me very very soon!" He said as he laid the title down, his eyes red from tears. It broke my heart.

I watched Seth and Dean go out and Seth was a mess. Dean tended to keep his emotions to himself but he was still crying. The three of them hugged on the ramp and as he came backstage I hugged him. I kept myself together as best I could but inside I was screaming. My heart was breaking. I couldn't help him! The only thing I could do was be there and I felt absolutely helpless.

"baby it's gonna be ok" he whispered "I'm not going anywhere"

"losing my mom last year just made this that much harder for me and I know you said you'd beat this but I'm scared! I'm scared I'm gonna lose you to!" I said, tears threatening to fall from my eyes.

"baby girl, you're not gonna lose me! I'm gonna beat this again!" He smiled "come on let's go home"

4 months later

"Roman reigns has an update on his leukemia" Michael Cole said into the microphone "hopefully it's good news"

His music played and the crowd erupted. He had a smile on his face and he was glowing "the amount of people tweeting me, Facebooking me, if y'all could find a way to get a hold of me you were!" He smiled as the crowd cheered.

"well we advertised it as an update, should we get to the update?" He said and crowd cheered "well the good news is.... I'm in remission y'all!" He said and the deafening roars of the crowd drowned out the screaming i did as i ran down the ramp to him, leaping into his arms and peppering his face with his kisses. I cried on his shoulder, I never wanted to let him go! I was so glad he was healthy. Losing my mom was one of the hardest things I've ever been through but if I had lost him I would've been totally lost! He set me down on the mat "say hello to my beautiful wife!" He smiled, holding my hand in the air "she's been by my side through this whole thing and it's been extra hard for her. You see in 2017 she lost her mom to cancer and my battle with it that started barely a year after her mom passed away has been extra hard on her. So please give my wife some love yall" he said and the crowd started chanting "thank you y/n!"

Tears filled my eyes and I couldn't help but lean into him. I looked up and he leaned down to kiss me as the crowd erupted. Everything was gonna be alright after all.

Warning: Angst/Fluff, Make-up. Happy endings.

Word Count: 3,046

Summary: The match is scary, but who wins your heart? (Sorry if the summary sucked!)

A/N: I let you guys choose your ending because I couldn't decide who I wanted to end up with! Hope You Enjoy!

The day is here.

The day where Finn and Seth fight for you. You didn't want this to happen, but this is how it's gonna be.

You weren't gonna lie when you say you still have some feelings for Seth. He was your first everything, but Finn on the other hand was your everything. He picked up the pieces that Seth left and built you back up. He did everything Seth couldn't imagine.

All these thoughts had your head in the gutters. You just wished none of this ever happened. Maybe if you never came back, Baron wouldn't do all of this. Why is Baron even after you in the first place? You haven't done anything, but beat Lacy.

Too much was on your mind and the match was about to start. Triple H has convinced you to sit at ringside to spice the match up even more. You began walking to the gorilla, but was stopped by Becky. "Hey Y/n, can we talk real quick?" You took a deep breath and nodded your head. You haven't talked to Becky since the whole Seth incident the first time.

Y'all walked into a private room and she began talking. "In all seriousness, as a woman, I'm sorry for Seth. I don't mean to get in between it and before you ask, yes we were having an affair." You bit your lip, letting her talk before you said anything.

"We were only together because Vince told us too, but after he 'retired' and Triple H took over. He didn't like the idea of us being together." It was all making sense to you now. Becky didn't want to play the flirting game with Seth. She was doing it because it was her job.

“I'm not mad at you it's just...why didn't Seth say anything?" Becky only shrugged her shoulders not knowing the real thing. "I thought you knew, but if I knew that you didn't, I would've told you in a heartbeat." You nodded your head, forgiving her. "It's alright. Thank you for telling me." You two shared a hug before going back.

The conversation with Becky lifted a bit of weight off your shoulder, but now your music started to play. Fans cheered as you walked out, looking sad. Everyone could tell, you didn't want this to happen.

You sat at the commentary, greeting Michael Cole and Braxton. Braxton began reading off his notes of questions to ask. “Hello Y/n, how are you feeling about the upcoming match?" You sighed, shrugging your shoulders. "I don't know. I would've never thought two men or anyone would be fighting for my love."

Fans could agree on your statement. "Well, who do you want to win in this match?" You froze. You couldn't think of an answer. You loved Seth, but at the same time you loved Finn. "No comment." Just then, Seth's music started to play. Fans cheered/booed as he made his way to the ring.

Before he got in the ring, he came over to you and kissed your cheek, laughing. You didn't try to stop him, knowing it was probably the last kiss you'll ever get from a man you once loved. Finn's music was to play next and came out like he was playing no games. He walked over to you and kissed you on the LIPS.

You were just as shocked as everyone else as he walked in the ring. There were no taunts, no smiles, no laughs, just seriousness.

There were many scary moments that had you and fans on their feet, like when they would go under the ring and grab chairs or attempt to hit each other with their finishers. You would think it was the end of the match until one reversed. "Y/n, what will happen if Seth wins? Will you forgive him after the year he put you through?" You took a moment and thought hard at the question.

As your mother always said, 'Everyone deserves a second chance.' Maybe over the year he's changed and become a good guy. "I don't know, I might consider trying again." Fans gasped at your answer knowing Finn wouldn't be so happy if he lost.

If Seth Wins

The match had its ups and downs. With Seth hitting multiple curb stomps and pedigrees on Finn, but with failed attempts on covering, he decided to pull out the big guns. After he knocked Finn down for a while, he grabbed two tables and stacked them on top of each other.

He couldn't believe he was doing this, but when you fight for something you want, you will do anything to get it, especially when it's you.

He dragged Finn over to the ropes and stood up with him in a pedigree position. He jumped, successfully hitting the finish. He looked at you, dead in the eyes, pinning him for the win. It was like silence came over the arena as your mouth dropped open.

You could believe Seth won and it wasn't that you doubted him, it was that you didn't think he would fight so hard and go to the length he did. Your body froze in time as you heard the ring announcer, saying that he was the winner. You couldn't take it anymore, getting up and running backstage.

Fans watched in anticipation, as Seth chased after you. You tried closing the door to a locker room, but Seth was quick to grab the door. "Hey, I won my match, you saw me out there and that means you're mine now." His heavy breathing was the only thing heard in the room as you looked at him.

“Look, I know that I've hurt you in the past, but I'm trying to get better, I'm trying to make you see me like the man I couldn't be a year ago." You listened to his speech, thinking he really might change. "I just want you to give me another chance so you can see how I'm the perfect man for you like you are the woman for me." He grabbed both your hands, ignoring how hot and sweaty they were in your soft ones. "Please, give me another chance."

You looked in his eyes, seeing sadness in them. You wanted to believe him so much, but the thoughts of last time came to mind. "How do I know you're telling the truth? Becky told me about the storyline. Why didn't you tell me?" The hurt in your voice was evident as you looked at him for answers.

He was only quiet, not responding. "Why Seth? Why keep that from me? We could've been together if you just told me from the beginning!" He sighed, knowing you had a good point. "I-I know and I'm sorry for-" You harshly took your hands out of his. "You can't just keep apologizing, if you're not gonna show me!” You were tired of him saying how sorry he was, but not doing anything to show it.

Seth held back an annoyed breath. “And that's what I want. A chance to prove to you and show you I changed." You took a deep breath, taking all of this in. You could give him another chance. "Okay. One chance." Seth huffed out in relief, throwing his head back.

He brought your hands to his mouth, kissing them furiously. "Thank you, thank you so much, I promise I won't let you down." You two stood there for a moment, looking at each other as you could hear the fans in the arena.

Seth began to lean forward, bringing you into a kiss, but then stopped after realizing what he was doing. "S-sorry." You nodded your head looking at the ground. "Just, baby steps. Let's take it slow." 'Baby steps', Seth repeated, putting his forehead against yours. It was gonna take a lot of time to get used to this, but just go slow and make progress each day.

After the whole 'make-up thing’ you decided to go talk to Finn. He was talking with Bayley. "Hey Bay, can I talk to Finn for a moment?" She agreed, walking away to give y'all privacy. "I'm sorry." You don't know what you were apologizing for, but you felt bad leaving him for your ex.

“It's alright, you have chemistry with him. I saw it coming though, I could tell you still loved him the moment we came here together." More guilt filled you as he spoke. “I'm sorry, I wasn't using you. I truly did love you, but when I saw him it was like all the feelings came back. I just really hope we can still be friends." You let a little smile form on your face at the thought.

“Yeah. Friends." He pulled you in a hug, giving you one last kiss on the forehead. Everything worked out how it should've.

If Finn Wins

Finn and Seth came back and forth at every hit. They were fighting like no before and it was just until Finn and Seth were on the ladder they brought in earlier in the match. They fought for balance, punch after punch and kick after kick, it was when Finn won the hits.

Finn took the opportunity to climb the ladder and risked it all, hitting a Coup de Grace, and pinning him for the win. As his music played you had a slight smile on your face. Your man won. Although you did feel bad for Seth, he had it coming, considering he tried fighting for you, knowing that you moved on. You excitedly got out of your chair and slid into the ring.

You helped Finn up and raised his arm in victory. Finn held his ribs in pain, struggling to stand up. You helped him out the ring and walked up the ramp, not sparing a glance at Seth. You two walked to the medical room where doctors got to work, looking over him.

You watched in silence as he would flinch at every time they touched his ribs. His ribs looked swollen and red and you could tell they were gonna form a purple bruise over time. The doctors began wrapping his ribs, but you stopped him. “It’s alright, I got it.” The doctor nodded his head before walking out, leaving you two alone. The silence was awkward, knowing he just won a match with you on the line as the prize.

You touched one part of his ribs, making him flinch. “I’m sorry! Did I hurt you? Finn shook his head, letting you continue. “Thank you for winning. I know you didn’t have to fight for me, but it shows how much you love me.” Finn smiled, hearing you thank him. He thought you would want to leave him.

“Don’t thank me. I chose you to date and I’m not letting you go to your ex, that can’t get over the fact you moved on. He fucked up y’all’s relationship.” You nodded your head in agreement, finishing his ribs. “You know I love you right?” Finn let out a little chuckle. “Of course I do, otherwise you wouldn’t be in here helping my old ass heal.” You laughed, making Finn smile.

It was his favorite thing to hear. “Do you believe the messages? Y’know, with Baron?” Finn thought for a moment. They were coming from your phone and there was even a picture to prove it all. “I wanna say no, but the picture. God the picture was too real to be photoshopped.”

You answered, telling the truth. “He did kiss me and I’m sorry for not telling you. I was so scared that you would blame me as a cheater and-” Finn stopped you, by holding your hand. “Hey breathe, breathe for me, love.” You listened to him, doing the technique he taught you.

He took a deep breath, getting ready for what he was about to say. “I would never accuse you of cheating on me. I know what he did to you and would never believe you would go back with him. You're not stupid, Y/n. You're a smart, intelligent, independent woman and I know that you love me.” You felt tears coming to your eyes, from his mini-speech.

He just poured his heart out to you, explaining why he would always trust you. “Finn, I-” You couldn’t even form a sentence, knowing whatever the next word will come out will be cut off with a sob. “You are too good to me. Please forgive me! I promise none of this will ever happen again and I’m sorry for bringing you into this mess.”

Finn tiled your head up with his finger. “It’s not your fault, okay? It’s Baron. He’s been going around here for years, being the grinch messing up whatever happiness has to be involved with.” You knew that was right, but something inside of you, blamed yourself.

“I wanna be with you, Y/n and I know you see it. We just need to communicate more, but other than that, we can work this out if you agree.” You didn’t even have to think about it. “Yes, of course! Thank you!” You gently hugged him, not caring about his sweaty body.

He pulled you into a kiss, happy he got his love back.

If Both Win?

Finn and Seth were fighting hard. They fought like their life depended on everything and it did. It was all for you and you still couldn't get over it. They had very good moments in between, where they would be so close to winning, but all it took was a kick out to stop it.

They were currently fighting on a ladder for height. You watched, scarily as the ladder would shake at every hit. All of a sudden, Baron came out with something in his hand. He slid in the ring, pushing the ladder over. Both Finn and Seth fell to the ground in pain. Baron picked them up and with his fist were bald up as he hit them.

You then saw that they were brass knuckles. That sneaky bitch. Baron hit Finn then Seth before making them pin each other. And with their bodies tired and in pain, neither kicked out. Confusion spread across your face as it was announced as Finn and Seth being the winners.

Technically neither of them won, so they don't get you? This is exactly what Baron wanted. For you to be alone, but you're not gonna give him that satisfaction. You walked inside the ring, helping each boy up and raising their hands in victory. Fans cheered while Baron's eyebrows furrowed.

His plan didn't work! You grabbed a microphone and began speaking. "Baron, you thought that would work?" You laughed, making everyone confused. "You see, Baron. If you thought smarter and not harder, you would know that I didn't want to choose. I want both, so with you doing this." You pointed between you, Finn, and Seth. "You did me a favor."

Gasped and cheers came around the arena, hearing you admit that. The truth was, you were gonna choose both, but Triple H said for you to spice up the match and this is a great way. The boys looked at you and each other not knowing what to think of your statement.

Baron began stomping on the ramp, yelling as fans laughed at him getting pissed. He didn’t want to see you happy and you didn’t know why. “Everyone say, ‘Thank you Corbin’ on 3.” The countdown began and once it hit 3, everyone chanted, ‘Thank you, Corbin’ to Baron. He stomped his way backstage while you looked at Finn and Seth.

You felt bad for everything and in the end no one won. You were thinking about what you just said moments ago about dating the two of them. It doesn’t sound like a bad idea. You don’t have to choose and you don’t have to lose no one. Without thinking, you leaned in and grabbed Finn and kissed him.

Fans cheered as he gently held your face, deepening the kiss. You then pulled back and did the same to Seth making the crowd go even crazier. You pulled back and raised their arms up before making your way backstage.

Now it’s time for the confrontation. The men began walking away toward their locker rooms, but you didn’t let them get far. “Wait, Seth. Finn.” They stopped in their tracks and walked to you. “I wasn’t joking with what I said out there.” You played with your nails nervously. “I want to be with you both. I don’t wanna choose and it’s only up for you both to decide. I totally understand if you don’t-”

Finn cut you off by putting his index finger on your lips. “Love, I wanna be with you and you know that. Why else would I fight for you? Not only do I wanna be with you, but Seth does too.” You looked over at Seth seeing him nodding his head, agreement. “It’s clear we both want you and for you to go out there and say what you said and do what you did, means a lot to us.” Seth said, making you look at them in shock.

You didn’t think they would be so calm. “Me and Seth talked after the night I accepted the challenge and came to an agreement that we would talk to you about dating both of us, but it seems you already beat us to it.” Finn explained, making you smile. “Do you want this, Y/n? Just think about dating two men and tell us, yes or no.” Seth was making you think hard on that question.

You’ve never been in a poly relationship before and you’ve never considered trying it, but you want both men, so why not give it a try. “Yes I want this. I want you Seth and you Finn.” The men smiled, ignoring the pain and hugged you. It was official.

Pulling your phone, you snapped a photo and later to your Twitter and Instagram. It was a picture of Finn and Seth kissing each cheek on your face. “Alright, let’s go get you boys checked up and then we can head to the hotel.”

Everything was gonna be just fine.

The 1999 WWF Roster: Where Are They Now?

With Edge jumping to AEW, some of you may have seen this meme:

Cute, but the whole roster for 1999 counts up 110 people, not six. So where's the rest?

If we're going based on company the roster member (so this includes all onscreen personalities who appeared on WWF programming in 1999, not just wrestlers) is part of, this is how the spread looks:

(Retired may also mean not actively working for a company, because wrestlers frequently stop being retired)

If we're talking about active wrestlers only, the spread is a bit different:

Meaning that with Edge gone, there is not a single wrestler who was active in 1999 and is still wrestling for the WWE today. And the roster members who are still there make very few onscreen appearances. Jerry Lawler, Funaki and Michael Cole are the only 3 whose jobs it is to be onscreen. Everyone else is either an ambassador, producer, coach or whatever the McMahon siblings are doing.

In more somber news, out of the 23 dead roster members, 11 of them died less than 10 years after 1999.

Back to the AEW side of things: what is the true number of roster members who are actively onscreen? 13/14

(The number is tentative because Paul Wight is more of a backstage presence, but does make the occasional jaunt to the commentary table)

THIS DAY IN GAY HISTORY

1912 – England requires flogging for a second violation of the 1898 law prohibiting Gay solicitation.

1913 – Sir John Pope-Hennessy (d.1994), was a British art historian and museum director. He was a scholar of Italian Renaissance art. Many of his writings, including the tripartite Introduction to Italian Sculpture and his magnum opus, Donatello: Sculptor, are now considered classics in the field.

Pope-Hennessy was born into an Irish Catholic family in Belgravia, London, to Major-General Richard Pope-Hennessy and Dame Una Pope-Hennessy (née Birch), who was the daughter of Arthur Birch, Lieutenant-Governor of Ceylon. He was the elder of two sons; his younger brother James Pope-Hennessy, also a homosexual, was a writer of note. At Oxford John was introduced by Logan Pearsall Smith (a family friend) to Kenneth Clark, who became a mentor to the young Pope-Hennessy. Upon graduation Pope-Hennessy embarked on what he referred to as his Wanderjahre, travelling in Continental Europe and becoming acquainted with its great art collections, both public and private.

Pope-Hennessy served as the director of the Victoria and Albert Museum between 1967 and 1973, and then as the director of the British Museum from 1974 until 1976. His nickname to staff was "the Pope".

When his homosexual brother James, (1916-1974) was beaten to death by a lover in 1974, Pope-Hennessy left the British Museum after only three years as director. Pope-Hennessy looked for a change in life venue. Initially he withdrew to Tuscany, but was enticed by an offer from the Metropolitan Museum of Art to head its department of European painting, and moved to New York. He combined this curatorial post with a professorship at New York University's Institute of Fine Arts, and enjoyed mixing with the city's high society.

In New York, Pope-Hennessy met Michael Mallon, a young scholar attending Pope-Hennessy's Frick lectures. Pope-Hennessy secured him an internship at the Metropolitan and Mallon became Pope-Hennessy's life partner. The two retired to Florence in 1986.

Pope-Hennessy died in Florence at age 80 from complications from a liver ailment.

1947 – Peter Dorey (d.2021) was the co-founder of Gay’s the Word, the first bookshop in the UK dedicated to selling books and magazines for the LGBT+ community.

Dorey founded the shop in Bloomsbury, central London, together with Ernest Hole and Jonathan Cutbill, in 1979. Naming the shop after the Ivor Novello musical, the trio aimed to provide a safe space where LGBT+ people could meet and share a love of books, including many titles that were not available elsewhere.

Peter Dorey was born in 1947 in London to Frederick and Irene Dorey and educated at Preston Manor Grammar School in Wembley. Whilst at the University of Leeds he became interested in broadcasting, working for the student radio station on campus. Upon graduating he joined the BBC as a sound engineer, spending more than 20 years at studios in Belfast and Bristol. It was at a meeting of Gay Icebreakers, a social group, that he and his colleagues came up with the idea of a specialist bookshop for the LGBT+ community, with Dorey providing the funding.

During the miners’ strike of 1984-85, the bookstore became the meeting hub for Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners (LGSM), a group which raised funds for striking coalminers in south Wales. Their story is celebrated in the film Pride (2014), directed by Matthew Warchus.

As the subject of long-term surveillance and institutional homophobia, Gay’s the Word was raided in 1984 by HM Customs and Excise, which claimed that “indecent or obscene” material was being held there. Thousands of pounds of stock was removed by Customs officers whilst Dorey and his colleagues were charged with conspiracy to import indecent books, under the archaic Customs Consolidation Act of 1876.

Questions in parliament from Chris Smith and Frank Dobson and pressure from campaigners forced a review of the case. A crowdfunding campaign raised £55,000, including £3,000 donated by the author Gore Vidal. Smith came out as Britain’s first openly gay MP a few months later. The charges against Dorey and his co-directors were eventually dropped.

Dorey met Timothy Groom in 1985 and they were partners until Groom's death in 2010

1969 – Allen R. Schindler, Jr. (d.1992) was an American Radioman Petty Officer Third Class in the United States Navy who was murdered for being gay. He was killed in a public toilet in Sasebo, Nagasaki, Japan by shipmate Terry M. Helvey, who acted with the aid of an accomplice, Charles Vins, in what Esquire called a "brutal murder". The case became synonymous with the gays in the military debate that had been brewing in the United States culminating in the "Don't ask, don't tell" bill.

Airman Apprentice Terry M. Helvey, who was a member of the ship's weather department (OA Division, Operations Department), stomped Schindler to death in a toilet in a park in Sasebo, Nagasaki. He was left lying on the bathroom floor until the Shore Patrol and the key witness to the incident (Jonathan W.) carried out Schindler's body to the nearby Albuquerque Bridge. Schindler had "at least four fatal injuries to the head, chest, and abdomen," his head was crushed, ribs broken, and his penis cut, and he had "sneaker-tread marks stamped on his forehead and chest" destroying "every organ in his body" leaving behind a "nearly-unrecognizable corpse" that was only identifiable by the tattoo on his arm. Jonathan W. witnessed the murder while using the restroom. He noticed Helvey jumping on Schindler's body while singing, and blood gushing from Schindler's mouth while he tried to breathe. The key witness was requested to explain in detail to the military court what the crime scene looked like, but would not because Schindler's mother and sister were present in the courtroom.During the trial Helvey denied that he killed Schindler because he was gay, stating, "I did not attack him because he was homosexual" but evidence presented by Navy investigator, Kennon F. Privette, from the interrogation of Helvey the day after the murder showed otherwise. "He said he hated homosexuals. He was disgusted by them," Privette said. On killing Schindler, Privette quoted Helvey as saying: "I don't regret it. I'd do it again. ... He deserved it."

After the trial, Helvey was convicted of murder and Douglas J Bradt, a captain who tried to keep the incident quiet was demoted and transferred to Florida. Helvey is now serving a life sentence in the military prison at the United States Disciplinary Barracks at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, although by statute, he is granted a clemency hearing every year. Helvey's accomplice, Charles Vins, was allowed to plea bargain as guilty to three lesser offenses, including failure to report a serious crime and to testify truthfully against Terry Helvey, and served a 78-day sentence before receiving a general discharge from the Navy.

The events surrounding Schindler's murder were portrayed in the 1997 TV film Any Mother's Son. In 1998, Any Mother's Son won a GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Made for TV Movie.

1975 – Lionel Baier, born in Lausanne, is a Swiss film director. He began his career with a short called "Good Enough To Eat" and two docs: one for Swiss television called The Pastor, the other about gay pride in the Valais.

At 28 he released his first feature, a breakout festival hit, Garcon Stupide, about a confused, uneducated, perpetually frisky 20 year-old named Loic who wants more than the quick tricks he turns with older men on the streets of Lausanne. The marketing department tried to sell Baier's follow-up, Stealth, as another gay romp but the character's main preoccupation is coping with the discovery that his family's background is Polish, which leads to a road trip, which leads to a providential hookup.

In 2009, Baier made Another Man about a straight writer who stumbles into a job as a small-town newspaper movie reviewer For something different, the next year Baier shot Low Cost on his cell phone in a month. Low Cost is a 60-minute drama about a 34 year-old who knows when he's going to die. In 2013 he released Great Waves, his first period drama, set in April 1974 during Portugal's Carnation Revolution.

1990 – Anton Hysén is a Swedish footballer who plays in the Swedish third division for Utsiktens BK, which is coached by his father Glenn Hysén. He is a former member of the Swedish national under-17 association football team and was given a trainee contract with BK Häcken from 2007 to 2009,[3] but was hindered by injuries and instead joined Utsiktens BK, for whom he plays in his third season. He was previously a member of Torslanda IK. His older brothers are football players Tobias Hysén (half-brother) and Alexander Hysén. He won the seventh season of Let's Dance, being the first openly gay person to win this competition.

He came out as gay to the Swedish football magazine Offside in March 2011. Daily Mail has described Anton as the "first high-profile Swedish footballer to announce that he is gay" and as the second active professional football player to come out, after English footballer Justin Fashanu in 1990. The BBC called him "a global one-off".

Hysén was profiled on Swedish broadcaster TV4 on March 9, 2011, in a debate show moderated by Lennart Ekdal titled "Can gays play football too?".

He works part-time as a construction worker.

1999 – US Defense Secretary William Cohen ordered a full review of the "Don't ask, don't tell" policy. The policy had recently been criticized for creating a hostile environment.

2002 – The Belgium Senate approves same-sex marriage, making Belgium the second country to do so.

NCIS is gearing up to ring in a special milestone with the April 15th episode as the franchise reaches 1,000 episodes overall. But how does it all break down? Below, we’re revealing how each of the current and former spinoffs contributed to the flagship’s upcoming installment.

NCIS (464 EPISODES)

Airdates: September 23, 2003–present

The Brief: “What makes NCIS so damn special?” That question is furiously put to Director Leon Vance (Rocky Carroll) by his estranged son, Jared (Spence D. Moore II), in the NCIS franchise’s 1,000th episode. Launched in 2003, NCIS has four spinoffs and two highly anticipated shows coming — NCIS: Origins and a Michael Weatherly–Cote de Pablo project nicknamed NCIS: Europe.

The younger Vance makes his query when the two cross paths at his mom’s gravesite. Vance’s wife was killed by terrorists in 2013, and Jared can’t comprehend why his dad is so dedicated to a job that put their family in danger.

Make that puts: Vance is soon in peril and the team under attack by an enemy from the past. “We’ve heard this baddie’s name before,” exec producer Steven D. Binder told us at a celebration on the set. “As in some of our better episodes, our people risk their lives for each other. We pay homage to the O.G. NCIS and the other series.”

Guest star alert: Assisting via satellite feed are Los Angeles agent Kensi Blye (Daniela Ruah) and Hawai‘i boss Jane Tennant (Vanessa Lachey). The cavalry also includes a longtime NCIS ally, former FBI agent Tobias Fornell (Joe Spano).

In a scene we observed, forensic scientist Kasie (Diona Reasonover) reviews evidence with Torres (Wilmer Valderrama). Jared, desperate to help, has slept there overnight. “Kasie connects with Jared and becomes a mentor in a way,” Reasonover says.

Valderrama hints it all gets explosive, promising “a big, big set piece; all of us are involved.” And one agent does something new: “We see McGee in a position you’ve never seen him in in 20 years,” spills Sean Murray. Says Gary Cole, who plays team leader Alden Parker, “We witness some fragility of what this job entails, the obstacles that could pop up unexpectedly.”

NCIS: New Orleans (155 EPISODES)

Airdates: September 23, 2014–May 23, 2021

The Brief: The Big Easy’s brassy, buoyant spirit infused the franchise’s third title, shot memorably on location. In fact, lead Scott Bakula once told TV Guide Magazine about a great only-in-NOLA moment: “being in the middle of the Mississippi River, captaining a tugboat!” His honest boss Dwayne Pride was based on a real New Orleans lawman, retired naval investigator D’Wayne Swear, who served as a consultant.

NCIS: Sydney (8 EPISODES)

Airdates: November 10, 2023–present

The Brief: “In Australia, everything can kill you,” executive producer Morgan O’Neill cracked to TV Guide Magazine when the Oz-set new kid on the block arrived last year. Down Under has proved plenty perilous for tough NCIS Special Agent Captain Michelle Mackey (Olivia Swann) and her savvy partner-in-crime-fighting, Australian Federal Police Sergeant JD Dempsey (Todd Lasance). After locking horns, the American and the Aussie warmed to each other. But all may be undone thanks to JD going rogue in the finale — crikey! Good news for fans left in suspense: Sydney was just renewed!

NCIS: Hawai‘i (50 EPISODES)

Airdates: September 20, 2021–present

The Brief: NCIS said aloha to the franchise’s third offshoot and first female special agent in charge, hardworking divorced mom Jane Tennant (Vanessa Lachey), in 2021. “I feel like I’m in a movie: Platoon meets Jurassic Park,” Lachey told TV Guide Magazine at the time. Before shooting on lush Oahu began, production held a traditional Hawaiian blessing. The island culture has defined the series, with unique cases involving paniolos (Hawaiian cowboys) and Pearl Harbor survivors. Tennant’s team, a blend of mainland transplants and locals like surfer Kai Holman (Alex Tarrant), has welcomed other NCIS franchise agents for joint ops. And now L.A.’s Sam Hanna (LL Cool J) is on the island!

NCIS: Los Angeles (323 EPISODES)

Airdates:September 22, 2009–May 21, 2023

The Brief: For a thrilling 14 seasons, the first spinoff’s Office of Special Projects hit the sunny streets of L.A. to chase down a rap sheet of baddies from Russian mobsters to psychotic serial killers — even an office mole. Under the management of no-nonsense Henrietta “Hetty” Lange (Linda Hunt), ex–Navy SEAL Sam Hanna (LL Cool J) and loner Grisha “G” Callen (Chris O’Donnell) were special agents with banter as quick as their draw. But both had endured pain: for Sam, a wife murdered by a terrorist; for G, a rocky childhood in foster care and a brutal secret program to train kids in spycraft.

Fans rooted for romance between team members Kensi Blye (Daniela Ruah) and Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen), whose entertaining undercover missions included posing as cult members and suburban marrieds. The cast was equally tight. O’Donnell says, “The first day on set, the original NCIS cast came in. They were like a family. I remember looking at Dani and LL thinking, ‘Are we ever going to get as close?’ Sure enough, we did.”

Working the Commentary Desk (WWE Version)

This one will have a twin with the AEW commentary team. For this one I'll only be using the Smackdown commentary team, Pat and Michael are my favorites.

You were formerly a wrestler on the roster before you were forced to retire due to injury

During the Thunderdome era, you were asked to join the Smackdown commentary team

You and Pat got along like a house on fire

Your banter quickly put you both over with the WWE Universe

It took Michael a bit to warm up to you both but you quickly became the three musketeers

The fans loved the moments when you and Pat would freak out over Nakamura and Boogs

Whenever you or Pat were absent from the show, the fans would notice and complain about it

Michael Cole who was usually very stoic loosened up over time with the two of you

You would find yourselves sitting in catering looking at the match card and sometimes even just shooting the shit

You'd ask about Michael's sons and wife, and about Pat's wife

They in turn would ask you about your love life, or as you corrected "my severe lack of one"

Pat and Michael both had even tried to convince you to go out on dates and set you up on blind dates

They became very annoying older brothers and you loved and hated that about them

During Pat’s feud with Austin Theory, Pat defended your honor after Austin got in your face, making fun of how you were relegated to being a commentator after being a wrestler

During their match you were biased for Pat, not caring that Vince was sitting right next to you

Michael had to call the match fairly although you would interrupt and say "I'll say what you really mean there Michael Cole." which would make him chuckle and allow you to speak in Pat's favor

Los Lotharios tried flirting with you multiple times during matches, even pulling your headset off to make you their victim on the kiss cam

Even after Wrestlemania, Los Lotharios would not leave you and ring announcer Samantha Irvin alone

They flirted any chance they had, especially Angel

Pat and Michael would sometimes tease you about it, very much being the older brothers they had designated themselves to be

Fans on Twitter had been calling for WWE to make you three the commentators for Raw and the main commentators on Pay Per Views

All in all, although you had to retire from in-ring competition which broke your heart you found a new place within the company at the commentary desk

That temporary assignment before you disappeared from WWE TV for good ended up being the saving grace you needed to help you fall back in love with wrestling

I haven't seen the entire article yet but the press is starting to bite. I'm not sure if they plan to go fully in before the coronation but the gloves will definitely come off right after. I presume W&K will get the most flack and it won't only be harping at their work ethics or lack thereof in general, they're aiming for the "Brits don't know their future King and Queen" angle. The Prince of Wales to Prince of Wales comparisons that will probably start coming out towards the end of the year won't be pleasant either.

“Through death, scandal and resignation the Royal family is increasingly reliant on a few hard-working members, with Charles, Anne and Edward, doing almost half the work.

“We now need new working royals or will have to accept a Royal Family that is more distant from the people than at any time in the past 100 years.”

The King and Princess Anne are named as the “hardest working”, with the latter having a slight edge in the total number of UK-based engagements between 2012 and 2022.

The research is based on data compiled by Tim O’Donovan, a retired insurance broker who has recorded engagements listed in the Court Circular since 1979.

Civitas claims family members over the age of 70 are responsible for the greatest share of engagements and warns of a potential “shortage of royals”.

The Duke of Kent is 87, Princess Alexandra is 86, the Duke of Gloucester is 78 and the Duchess of Gloucester is 76.

It fears that the number of royal engagements could “shrink to barely 1,000 a year” over the next decade.

That's part I find most significant. Amazingly they don't call out Will & Kate directly.

Most of the article is written from the perspective of adding more working royals such as Beatrice & Eugenie, which is never going to happen. Also, someone goes on to say that Zara should be a working royal! As if!

But royal broadcaster Michael Cole disagreed, saying: “Slimming down the Royal Family is in tune with the tough times faced by millions.

“Never again will we witness more than 20 members of the Royal Family on the balcony at Buckingham palace.

“The King knows instinctively this sends the wrong message. And he’s right.”

Beatrice, Eugenie, & Zara are never going to be working royals, and none of them want to be.

But the looming problem remains of the heir apparent and his wife doing almost next to nothing.

My version of the Jones family

Jeremiah Guy Jones Born in Grimsborough in 1956, Jeremiah met his future wife in high school and married her four years after graduating from the firefighters academy. They had their firstborn, Irwin Michael Jones, in 1978, and two years later in 1980 they had their secondborn, David Jeremiah Jones. His sons remember him as a very strict and authoritarian father, dedicated to discipline and ready to use the belt if necessary. Jeremiah used to prefer Irwin to David and has belittled the latter as a real idiot. But despite this, Jeremiah loves his wife and sons very much and is very proud of David for his job at the Grimsborough Police Department. As of 2018, Jeremiah Jones is a retired firefighter.

Colleen Blythe Jones (née Washington) Born in Grimsborough in 1958, Colleen met her future husband in high school and they married four years after the man's graduation from the firefighters academy. The woman give birth to their firstborn, Irwin Michael Jones, in 1978, and two years later in 1980 she gave birth to their secondborn, David Jeremiah Jones. Colleen worked in a cloth factory when she was pregnant with both of her sons, but became a housewife after David's birth. The classic mother who embarrasses her children but hides a strict and scary side. Despite she loving her husband deeply, Colleen was never okay with his disciplinary methods and didn't want him to use the belt on their boys. As of 2018, Colleen Jones is a middle-aged housewife who misses her sons.

Irwin Michael Jones Born in Grimsborough in 1978, he is the stereotype of the bully older brother who never misses an opportunity to tease and mock his little brother. Although he has always been Jeremiah's favorite, Irwin also received several beltings from his father during his childhood and adolescence. Even if it doesn't seem like it, Irwin actually loves his brother and wouldn't bear it if something happened to him. In 1998, Irwin met his future wife Crystal at a college party, marrying her in 2002 and having their first and only son, Cole Irwin Jones, with her in 2005. Like his father, Irwin became very strict toward his son and sometimes use the belt on him. As of 2018, Irwin Jones is a dentist still happily married to Crystal.

Crystal Maya Jones (née Rogers) Born in Brooklyn in 1978, Crystal moved in Grimsborough at the age of 18 years old in 1996 for college, meeting her future husband Irwin two years later in 1998 at a college party. After four years of dating, the two married in 2002 and Crystal gave birth to their first and only son, Cole Irwin Jones, in 2005. The woman always had a good relationship with her brother-in-law and never allowed to make fun of him or belittle him while she dislikes her husband's discipline toward their son. As of 2018, Crystal Jones is a pediatrician still happily married to Irwin.

Cole Irwin Jones Born in Grimsborough in 2005, Cole is the nephew of detective David Jones (whom he sees as his idol and role model). Unlike his father, Cole is a very nice and understanding boy who hates bullying, although as a child he was a bit mean and drew his uncle during his activities (such as aerobics). Cole is often scolded by his father (who inherited these traits from his grandfather) and often receives strict punishment if the trouble is serious. As of 2018, Cole Jones is 13 years old and attend eighth grade as he prepares for his next adventure: high school.

Why I started watching WWE again

The earliest memory I have of professional wrestling is The Undertaker/Yokozuna feud. This fond memory was the catalyst to moulding my enjoyment to this form of entertainment.

Years later I began watching WWE/WWF on a full-time basis because it was aired weekend mornings. The Stone Cole Steve Austin/Vince McMahon feud hooked me. As a child, it was an awesome to see an authority type figure getting their ass kicked. Both McMahon and Austin produced classics moments in wrestling history. I bought PPV’s on VHS such as St Valentine’s Day Massacre. I must of watched that tape a couple of times a day over the next few weeks.

WWE became a part of my life. I made it my business to watch Raw and Smackdown every week; I even watched Velocity and Sunday Night Heat. I couldn't get enough! I tried to get my hands on stuff from independents and in 2004 I did some pro wrestling training. But if WWE was such an important part of my life then why did I stop watching it?

2017 wasn’t the worst year in WWE. The Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens feud was fantastic, The Hardyz returned, Kurt Angle was inducted into the Hall of Fame, The Shield reunited, and Samoa Joe made his debut. Despite all of this, a babyface Roman Reigns just couldn’t get over and Jinder Mahal was WWE Champion. I’m not even going to go into the House of Horrors match, but it was something. But it’s OK to have bad moments. They can teach you to never repeat those mistakes again…or can they?

2018 was worse. Some moments left a bad taste in my mouth such as Dean Ambrose turning heel on his fellow Shield member, Seth Rollins. This was the same night that Roman announced that he had leukemia. What the fuck was Vince thinking? The storyline was uglier than a dog’s dinner. Dean would leave the company less than a year later. WWE also went into a controversial deal with Saudi Arabia. The Saudi PPV saw Shane McMahon win WWE World Cup tournament becoming the ‘’Best in the World’’. This is the same PPV where Shawn Michaels came out of retirement for an awful tag team bout. The worst part to 2018 was on December 17, when Vince McMahon came to the ring followed by Stephanie McMahon, HHH and Shane. Stephanie would go on to say ‘’We haven’t been doing a good for you lately.’’ She would rattle on about not listening to us, the fans. We were told that we were now the authority. This was such a surreal moment.

Months prior we got the first All In PPV that would eventually lead to the formation of All Elite Wrestling. The All In card was stacked and displayed some incredible matches that left me wanting more. I started to binge watch BTE on YouTube as well as a history The Bullet Club. I began to attend Irish wrestling shows from Over The Top Wrestling. The first shows I went to featured Will Ospreay, Gunther and Pac. Seeing new talent and the interesting ways they told stories was refreshing. Witnessing smaller promotions putting on better shows compared to a billion-dollar company creating mediocre content was shocking to me.

Appointing us - the fans - as the authority figure was a great rib by WWE as they continued to sling crap in our faces as 2019 saw The Undertaker battling Goldberg in another Saudi show that resulted embarrassing bout. You can visibly see the disappointed on Taker's face post-match. Kurt Angle would have his retirement match against Baron Corbin. Angle is on my mount Rushmore, so for his career to lead to anti-climax was a disgrace. Seth Rollins was on a babyface run and I was enjoying it, until the infamous Hell in the Cell match with The Fiend. This match should have been a decent bout, but the arena was casted in ugly red light and the finish came in form a DQ. During a live reaction broadcast WWE were putting out at the time, X-Pac said ‘’You may not ask me back for one of these but how do you get DQ’d in a Hell in a fricking Cell match.’’ I often ask myself this. Things would get worse when Kofi Kingston was squashed in seven seconds against Brock Lesner. Kofi’s six-month title reign came to an abrupt and miserable end and so did my love for WWE. At this point I felt cheated and insulted. How can I continue to watch a product that simply didn't care?

At the tail end of 2019, AEW was launched. The new promotion featured new faces, different styles of wrestling and an opportunity for talent to thrive. I gravitated towards this. I periodically watched WWE clips, but it was clear Vince was out of touch. Talent were also fired during the pandemic. It was as if Vince didn't care anymore. Remembers Erik Rowen’s spider? On top of all this, Vince's scandal was aired across the internet. During this insane time, Vinny had the balls to appear on Smackdown just to wave his ego around.

So, what's changed?

I watched night 1 of WrestleMania and I was impressed. The highlight was Rhea Ripley vs. Charlotte Flair. I liked what I saw with the Bloodline storyline. It was great to see Cody Rhodes, and a heel Dominik Mysterio intrigued me. I kept up with things and noticed consistent story telling. With Vince gone, it felt like everything was moving in a cohesive way. Yes, Vince gave us years of entertainment, but he also held on for too long and it was clear it was causing damage.

I decided to tune back into WWE full time and write about my viewing experience. If you’ve read my past posts, then you know that I still have issues with WWE, but I’ve never seen a promotion do anything perfect. I think WWE do a much better job with their women’s division and keeping storylines simple and clear, but they lack on match quality with many silly finishes. They play things safe, but that's okay. For now I'm enjoying the ride. And that's good enough.
