The Jims were up to something.

The Jims were always up to something.

Illinois had come home after a particularly rough adventure, bloodied and bruised an exhausted. He hadn't had the energy to put up his usual facade and pretend everything was fine, and had almost immediately gone to collapse into bed, leaving the twins worried sick.

And plotting.

"What if we make him dinner? Something real special, his favorite?"

"Not grand enough, and we were going to do that anyway."

"True, true..."

"What if we take him out? He usually takes us out places, never lets us do it...could be fun!"

"Too grand. You saw him, I doubt he wants to move from bed much."

Both Jims hummed, deep in thought...until RJ snapped his fingers. "I got it! Pillow fort."

CJ grinned. "Ooh, I like where your head's at. Dinner, movie, snacks?"

RJ grinned back, both twins aready dreaming up blueprints. "You read my mind~"

"Shh! He's coming!"

"Don't give it away!"

"Shh!"

The Jim twins' hustle and bustle came to an abrupt halt when the door cracked open, and he stepped into the living room. Immediately, the twins were beaming at him, arms spread, and presenting the fact that they'd turned the entire living room into one massive pillow fort. They had to be utilizing nearly every scrap of cloth in the house, blankets and pillows everywhere, and it even accompanied the TV. The perfect set up to a movie night. The perfect thing after a long day.

The twins grinned, speaking in unison. "Surprise!"

Illinois had heard all their hustle and bustle. It would be impossible not to, with how high strung he was at the moment. Though even at his most relaxed, he typically was keenly aware of his surroundings. All it took was a second, after all…

Anything could happen in a second.

This surprise? It was one he didn’t dream of in a million years, even with all his preparation for anything and everything to happen. He paused in the doorframe, leaning heavily against it. His hat was tucked low on his head, obscuring most of his face from the twins view. His voice soft, if a bit raspy, as he spoke. “….What is this, Sea~? Sky~?”

“It’s a pillow fort!” CJ bounced forward, nudging Illi with an elbow. “We know you had a hard time…figured you could use some relaxing!”

“We made snacks~” RJ came up on his other side, hesitating a moment, before wrapping a gentle arm around Illi, holding him close. “You deserve some pampering, after all you’ve been through.”

Silently, CJ held open the entrance to the fort. Inside, it was nice and dark, cozy, covered in blankets and pillows, and piled with bowls of all of Illi’s favorite snacks, some homemade by the twins. RJ crawled inside, and patted the space beside him, back against the sofa. “Come on!”

While he didn’t flinch, having trained himself out of it a long time ago, his smirk visibly pulled tighter at the nudge. He wasn’t used to the contact, and it always took him awhile to get settled again. The twins were the only two who could get him that way, and he was just forcing himself to relax when RJ wrapped his arm around him. It made Illinois shoot him a look, before he deflated, sighing as leaned against him. Allowing himself to be guided to the fort entrance. Watching RJ go in, before he carefully took his satchel off, placing it nearby. Next, his belts were taken off, neatly placed atop the satchel. Finally, he pulled his hat off.

He held it in his right hand, as he got down to crawl inside. Lips wobbly, eyes filled with unshed tears, as he went to settle beside RJ. Hugging his hat close as CJ made his way in and onto his other side, he took a shuddery breath as he leaned his head back on the sofa.

The full reality of what’s going on hitting him, that not only were the twins home, safe and sound, but they were waiting for him. That they cared enough to build a fort for him, and to remember all his favorite foods that he’s admitted to over the years with them. He reached out, snagging a chicken strip from a nearby snack bowl, before he was turning to kiss RJ’s cheek, then CJ’s. Dark brown, tired eyes closing, as tears finally slipped from them.

“Thank you, Pals… it’s good to be home~”

I've been well thank you! I've just started back up at school for the semester and we're jumping straight in to a bunch of projects that I'm really excited for. Like it's gonna be a lot of work but it's gonna be fun work!

So! Ivy stems from the Unus Annus video where Mark and Ethan painted each other as villains if I remember correctly. Disc currently has No Version of Ivy, so mine is considered kind of just The Ivy at the moment. His real name is Paris, but considering his… predicament of being a fine mix of plants, being able to control plants, basically just being a human/plant hybrid and his special interest in all things plants, he likes to be called Ivy. He does have a close friend that Disc made if you’d like to learn more— the Ethan ego from that video. You should go ask them!

Anyways! Ivy currently has Disc’s Illinois (Illo) wrapped around their finger. This is because Illi introduced Illo to him, and they kind of hit it off. Illo comes from Another Dimension, thanks to Illi and him doing stupid things. Another story for another time XD Anyways, Illi and Illo are pretty close, but they don’t look anywhere near the same unless they’re really trying or people only know the general descriptions of their outfits. I they’re confirmed on the universal scale to be… kind of equivalents in the dimensions, but they are /not/ each other. I note this heavily, since Illi, Ivy, and Farm (Farmiplier) are all cousins. Illo has Ozzy (Heistiplier) as a cousin.

Sorry that I’m kind of rambling, there’s just a lot. Is there anything more you’d like to know about? Any au, or specifics of characters?

Caleb -- fucking around in picrew. First thing I decided about him was that he was a sweetheart

Belladonna -- fucking around on a coloring app I have XD First thing decided was I think that she has her cat, Oracle

Ellingwood -- At work, I saw someone with the last name Ellingwood, decided that was a really good name, then promptly decided that Bell needed a girlfriend XD The first thing I decided about them was that they were Fae

Desmond -- I don't entirely remember, he is the oldest of this bunch, made him a couple years ago. I think I was just craving a silly catboy XD First thing I decided about him was how he speaks, and that he has a similar voice to Double Trouble in She-Ra (just deeper)

The Circus Master -- .....Listen, I spend a lot of time in Picrew XD really, her inspiration was the spooky circus songs I have in my playlist, plus a little bit of the Stranger from The Magnus Archives. I think the first thing I decided about her was that her proportions are all off, she is Tall and Long and Creepy

Marc leaned back in his chair, "The oh so flirtatious adventurer, an explorer who welcomes risk so readily!" Marc quirked an eyebrow upwards as his mind went to Illinois. "Not to mention, just how easy it is to get into his mind." Marc chuckled. A deep, low sound that came from his chest. His eyes on the asker as he tapped his foot on the floor under that absolutely gorgeous oak desk.

"And you~? I do love getting the proper and correct critique!" He paused, grimacing, "Not whatever those... People, if they are indeed people, have said about my work as if it isn't the grandest thing they have had the honor to bless their eyes with."

I request, please,,, whatever you want, Author with Illi,,, whether he’s hunting him, an au where he already somehow has him… or King Author in our Royal au, basking in the glory of all the fallen kings…

Illinois hauled ass through the trees, ignoring the growing stitch in his side as best he could as he ran. He could hear the deranged creep chasing after him, and he closed his eyes for a moment, pressing on harder through the forest.

"Oh Illinois~"

The Author's singsong call echoed through the trees, and suddenly there he was, standing in front of Illi, bat over his shoulder, and Illinois made a startled sound before veering off to avoid him. He just had to find the way out of this damned forest, had to find people, and then he'd be safe, he'd be out of the man's territory, and Illinois had always been pretty slippery, he could hide until the Author got bored of trying to track him down.

"Boo~"

The voice sounded like it was directly in his ear, and Illinois cried out, swinging to punch -- but all his fist hit was a tree, and he stumbled to a stop, nearly falling over with how jarring the miss had been. His lungs burned, he could taste iron in the back of his throat, his hand now throbbed --

"There you are~"

Illinois tensed, and he made to bolt, but it was too late. He was tackled to the forest floor, leafmould getting in his mouth, until his head was yanked back with a hand fisted tight in his hair. He'd lost his hat some time ago. He felt more than saw the bat thunk to ground beside him, and the pen held to his throat felt just as sharp as a blade.

"Oh I'm going to have fun with you~"

Alright, so Guppy!au!

Guppy!au is an au of vbtt, the one where Author caught the Jim Twins and Illinois. We’ve talked on that one before, but it’s alright if you don’t remember XD

Anyways, in this au, the same thing happens. Author takes the Jims as characters for his next book when they go to explore the forest famous for its disappearances. They’re with him about a week before Illinois comes into the forest, as he got hired by a man and rushed into the forest after ‘gold eyes’. A violent storm happens while in there, he sees the cabin, and goes to try to take shelter. The rest is a horrible, twisted history of whump.

Anyways, this is where Guppy!au comes from. Author realizes Illinois is kind of A Pain, always wiggling out of situations he puts him in, snarking him, just not the best to make a pet out of because he doesn’t have the time to actually train him. But, he doesn’t really want to kill him. Illi’s too pretty, and entertaining. In a rushed fit, he turns Illi into a little golden/yellow mer, half a guppy because that’s the first fish he thought of. He lives in a vase at first with nothing in it. Author, however, eventually realizes it makes him Sad seeing Illi in there like that, and he’s not too good with feelings, so eventually he gets him a better tank… and ends up transforming the twins into blue guppy mers as well, since their story wasn’t going well without Illi to make him realize he can’t push them so hard that they’re always one wind push away from death.

So, he now has Three Guppy mers. And he realizes… he actually Likes them. This is Disc’s Author, and he’s typically not good with animals because he is Insane and Twisted. However, he grows fond of them… so the obvious next move is to get More Guppies. And he does XD He goes to town, he scopes out people, he brings them to his cabin and turns them into guppy mers. He ends up with a Large tank, and tubes that go up so the mers like Illi can explore. They make him happy, even if he is pissed that they do. He also sometimes turns them back to human to have them do tasks for him, to whump, or just pure entertainment

ngl i had totally misinterpreted when i thought about guppy lmao but i should’ve known it was something whumpy :D

btw i love it

tell me more about author, does he get other egos as it goes on, or just random people? does illy manage to escape or to help other escape or at the end the author gets more empathetic?
