A favorite studio view. What looks like a beautiful little bird nest is actually a coveted plant of mine, a Rose of Jericho, an ancient plant that can lay dormant for many years at a time and be resurrected with water. They are often passed down for generations and are quite beautiful and interesting to study when fully hydrated and green. Mine is dormant at present and yet I love her curled, nest like qualities so much. It’s another side of her that’s equally interesting to study. This is where the magic happens. I’m so blessed to have this studio. I worked for years at a small table in our tiny living room. Surrounded by my little ones and their toys, it was a crowded loud space but it was where I fell in love with art. I will never regret that small space. I learned so much at that tiny table. I came to terms with my grief at the time and found art marks. It was a safe place and I felt secure in what I was doing. And if course, it taught me to be grateful for every bit of this space I have now. It’s not about the size.
