Kingdom Hearts — Rated G — Vanven (lightly), mostly Vanitas centric

It started with a look. It wasn't anything life-changing. But it forced Vanitas to reconsider who he was.

It started with a look. Nothing more. Ventus looked at him and held out his hand to help him stand. It wasn't anything life-changing. Vanitas landed on his back after a particularly heated sparring session, and Ventus offered him a helping hand. It had happened before—more often than Vanitas was willing to admit, considering there should be no way Ventus beat him at all, let alone this often. Maybe winning the Keyblade War had toughened him up more than Vanitas cared to admit. The problem wasn't their newfound friendliness—Vanitas wasn't really accustomed to that, either, but it was something else. No, the problem was the way the look sparked something in him. Yet it couldn't be. Not only because it was Ventus, but more importantly, because he was Vanitas. Darkness named after emptiness. This wasn't supposed to be something he couldfeel.

Happy 21st anniversary Kingdom Hearts! Although I'm not as into this franchise as much as I used to be, I will always be grateful for the lessons it taught me about friendship and the strength it takes to overcome your inner darkness.

I'm also thankful for how this series has inspired me creatively as a writer. I loved participating in the Queerly Beloved Kingdom Hearts zine a while back. Last year, I also wrote an original poem inspired by Roxas that got published at the video game publication Into The Spine.

Kingdom Hearts will always have a place in my heart.

augh,,,, well theres my main novel project, a story abt three human girls taught faerie magic by the fae that fled to their realm so they can help get the faerie realm back. ive been slowly working on it since 2018. yes its YA fuck off. then there's my multichapter yugioh heartshipping fanfic Fidelity that ive also been slowly working on since 2018. then theres my retelling of the new testament from the pov of john the beloved in which john and jesus's relationship is portrayed as unmistakably romantic. a mp100 fic abt reigen struggling to write a letter. my yugioh fic for the queerly yours zine, i wont say much only that the main character is jou. then theres various poems that i'm working on, the most notable ones being one about a church mouse, one about a rescued animal in a shelter, one about when i was a sugar baby in college that uses the metaphor of indulgences. like the catholic kind

I'm tired as hell, but Kingdom Hearts is helping me hang in there.

Hello all, it has been brought to our attention that there may be some misconceptions going around about this project. We hope to take a minute of your time to try and clear this up.

First we would like to blatantly state that, yes, we are a proship project, but that in no way means we support the actions of real life predators. We do not believe MAPs belong in LGBTQIA+ spaces. We cannot keep equating ‘proship’ to ‘pedophile’. We would also like to state that the interpretation of our promotional images, as those seem to be a reason for the flare of misconceptions,  are left up to the observer. They are ambiguous pieces of characters to showcase pride flags and inclusion. Nothing more, nothing less. The inclusion of popular ship tags are in order to garner more attention as well as make it easier for those who have been malaffected by instances of said ship proper precaution to block the mention and keep themselves safe.

Our project's only intention is to spread love, inclusion, support and raise awareness. We are a solely Safe-For-Work zine, and our proceeds will be going to charity. The contents of the zine itself will not be ship centric, and that should not be a major concern whatsoever. Our main focus of the zine is not in ships, but seeing as relationships are the part of LGBTQIA+ life, they will not be banned or barred. The zine is meant to showcase the characters we have all grown to love while celebrating any and all queer headcanons our contributors will have of them. 

It’s been a point of contention within LGBTQIA+ spaces of the perception of ‘straightness’. Please do not forget all of our Bi, Trans, Pan, Poly, Ace and other orientations. They belong in our family just as much as Gay or Lesbian do.

Finally we would ask that you please remember this is a show of support and love for our family under the same rainbow flag. There are enough battles out there, we do not need to add infighting. Don’t forget that at the end of the day our battle is always for real, living people. Fiction and reality are two separate things, and our energy should be directed towards real people that need help.
