The solution to this to me is to just like. Make Pyro bisexual LMAO. There's a really weird idea a lot of u guys perpetrate which is that lesbians can only ever date nonbinary people who also identify as lesbians (and therefore Pyro can ONLY date Pauling if they are a nonbinary lesbian and ONLY a lesbian) but like. Obviously that's not true lmao, lesbians can date whoever they want and this often includes people who do not also identify as lesbians. "Nonbinary lesbian" isn't actually a distinct gender exclusive to lesbians, and lots of nonbinary bisexual people experience gender in a very very very similar way to lots of nonbinary lesbians. Sorry to get all soapboxy LMAO this has kinda just been on my mind lately but like! I don't really do team distinctions, so Pyro tf2 is bisexual (or whatever) and nonbinary and polyamorous, and they can date Pauling, a lesbian woman, and Engie, a whateversexual man, without either of those contradicting the other because "nonbinary" isn't a distinctly defined third gender

Au where TF2nimals (from Spycrabs to Sniperdiles) exist alongside the original RED and BLU team and are literally just fucked up clones from respawn errors that create their own ecosystem around the bases. Both teams collectively decide to ignore them in favour of fighting, but are occasionally forced to interact.

The tf2nimals are literally the in-game versions/the mercs but with some differences like having sharper teeth or claws or being able to move their headgear (like the Darwin danger shield's tail, but it looks exactly like in-game so it's not actually attached but Sniperdiles still move them around)

The mercenaries were very disturbed at first at seeing basically themselves running around like animals but they got used to it. Especially because they get to tease each other over the species that come out, like Spy gets so much shit over being related to Spycrabs who keep walking right into Soldier's rockets and Sniper's crosshairs to the point he tries herding them away from the battle to avoid the embarrassment. And they complain about how not even the water is safe from Pyro because of Pyrosharks and build warning signs. Medic would also try catching a lot to study them and would get Sniper to help him with it because he's the wilderness expert.
