“Hear my cry, O God; Listen to my prayer. From the end of the earth I call to You, when my heart is overwhelmed and weak; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I [a rock that is too high to reach without Your help]. For You have been a shelter and a refuge for me, A strong tower against the enemy. Let me dwell in Your tent forever; Let me take refuge in the shelter of Your wings. Selah.” —Psalm 61:1‭-‬4 (AMP)
“Lead me to the Rock that is higher than I” By Katie Williamson:
Lead me to the Rock that is higher than I
Lead me to the rock that is higher than the trail itself.
Lead me to the rock that sits high above my current vantage point so I can see the valley clearly.
Lead me to the rock that reminds me I am only a small part of something so much bigger than myself.
Lead me to the rock that never changes, never moves, never crumbles.
Lead me to the rock that shows me the beauty and glory that waits at the end of the hard road.
Lead me to the rock that reminds me to be still and trust that God is good.
Lead me to the rock that says everything that has come before this point - is worth it.
Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

Listen to my cry for help, O God. Pay attention to my prayer. You have been my refuge, a tower of strength against the enemy. I would like to be a guest in your tent forever and to take refuge under the protection of your wings. Selah

Hear my cry, O God; Attend to my prayer. From the end of the earth I will cry to You, When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For You have been a shelter for me, A strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in Your tabernacle forever; I will trust in the shelter of Your wings. “From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, When my heart is overwhelmed: Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” —Psalm 61:2 (KJV)
“O God, listen to my cry! Hear my prayer! From the ends of the earth, I cry to you for help when my heart is overwhelmed. Lead me to the towering rock of safety, for you are my safe refuge, a fortress where my enemies cannot reach me. Let me live forever in your sanctuary, safe beneath the shelter of your wings!” —Psalm 61:1‭-‬4 (NLT)
This verse has been in my thoughts at times for a few days now, “When my heart is overwhelmed: Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”
Friend, in those times when your heart is overwhelmed, cry out to God and ask Him to lead you to the higher rock, to the towering rock of safety, where He is your safe refuge, a fortress where no enemy can reach you.
May you be always in God's sanctuary, safe beneath the shelter of His wings. In Jesus' name, Amen. 🙏

“O my people, trust in him at all times. Pour out your heart to him, for God is our refuge.” Psalm 62:8 (NLT)
“Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.” —1 Peter 5:7 (NLT)
“Emmanuel - God With Us”: Christmas Comfort for a Lonely World Devotional. Day 2: “Wonderful Counselor: His Understanding is Infinite.”
“Great is our Lord, and mighty in power; his understanding is infinite.” —Psalm 147:5 (NJKV)
“Life can be overwhelming. Difficult relationships, troubled finances, stress at work – it can feel like you’re drowning sometimes. Have you ever wished for someone you could tell all your troubles to? Someone who would listen without judgement or condemnation?
Did you know that God welcomes you to pour out your heart before him? He invites you to trust him with your troubles, to cast all your cares and anxieties upon him. When you feel beat up and battered by the storms of life, the Bible says that he is your refuge.
His understanding is infinite; his love, limitless. You can talk to him. You can trust him to hold the deep secrets of your heart carefully in his hand. In that knowledge, there is hope, there is joy, there is consolation.
God has not asked you to figure out life on your own. Jesus is there for you. He is the Wonderful Counselor with a listening ear and words of hope and wisdom that can guide you through every situation you face.”
