i don’t think people realize that even if you claim to be size-positive you are still saying harmful things.
you can “you’re fat and thats beautiful” all day everyday but if you follow that up with “don’t wear this it makes you look boxy” or “that has no shape add a belt” maybe you need to step away from the conversation.
i hate to tell you but some people are boxy. some people have “unattractive” body types and you need to learn to be Normal about it.
people can wear clothes that make them look “boxy” or “frumpy” and that’s fine! as long as the clothes make them happy it’s fine! you need to find it in your heart to stop caring.
judging people on body shape rather than size is still bad and i’m not sure what it’ll take to explain that.
this isn’t all to say that you/someone shouldn’t have clothes that fit well. don’t put words in my mouth. every living soul on earth deserves clothes that are good quality and fit how they want it to.
this is genuinely just about people claiming to be body positive (or god forbid body-progressive or something else more radical) that Still choose to make comments about a person’s figure without considering where those thoughts are coming from.

Hello, hoping you are wellI'd like to ask a GSR question. How do you think Grissom coped with the absurd divorce? Despite the fact that little and nothing is shown about how Sara wears it. What thoughts do you have?Thank you in advance if you answer my question, have a nice dayPS: I love your ramblings regarding this couple <3 Excuse me if there is any translation error, English is not my language
Hello Anon,
I’m glad you have enjoyed my ramblings; they’ve been one of the ways to survive the pandemic. For someone who thinks TV love stories tend to be shallow and primarily sex-based, the depth in this relationship was truly a surprise, especially smack-dab in the middle of a crime drama/procedural.
As you may have gathered, I found the whole divorce scenario patently absurd, and, unfortunately, it turned GSR into soap opera. The whole 10-11 year arc that ended with One to Go was to me a wonderful piece of storytelling. It was all about internal conflict within the characters and not a series of inane contrivances to keep them apart. Nor was it the typical “torn between 2 lovers” tripe we see too often.
As a viewer, I was actually more than a little insulted that the new PTB at the show thought that I (or anyone) would believe that the same man who almost lost his mind in LOATR, when he thought he had lost her forever, would then turn around 4 years later and divorce her because of missed phone calls? That, suddenly, he wouldn’t take the time to go see the love of his life? In the long run, he risked everything to be with her, first in Vegas, and then when he left Vegas. Yet he seemingly put no effort into resolving their long distance marriage issue, and, instead, decided she would be happier without him?
I did not buy it in the first place, the last place or any place in between. It was a soap operatic contrivance to create a short term (very short term since they didn’t really follow up) story line for Sara and as an out for the writers, who obviously felt that Grissom was the elephant in the room with whom they did not want to deal. There were so many other ways to handle their marriage, even with him offscreen, but they were either too lazy or just not imaginative enough to pursue those. Divorce fixed everything. For them. (And left everyone else going WTF.)
All in all, the fact that this group of writers made this particular choice should not be surprising. I find most of the episodes from 11-15 virtually unwatchable. I swear all of the actors, even the same ones I loved in 1-9, seem to sleepwalk through their roles. The cases are helter-skelter, with this CSI or that CSI suddenly appearing out of nowhere, as if they have been “on the case” all along. Seems to be an awful lot of deus ex machina resolutions as well. Any way. End of Rant.
But that’s not really your question….the problem is that the only information we are given is what we are given in Immortality. Based on my read on Grissom, to get him to that point, I think the following sequence of events must have taken place:
At some point, he felt he was a “bad husband.” That Sara deserved better, i.e., that she would be happier free of him to pursue a “beautiful life” with someone better able to give her one. So, perhaps in a somewhat impetuous moment, he floated the idea of a divorce. When she didn’t fight it, he decided it was the right decision.
In seasons 2 and 3, when Grissom thinks he is losing his hearing, we see him withdraw into himself, even more so than previously. At that point he fears he is losing his livelihood—the thing he loves most, the thing that defines him. So, to me, once, by his own action, he loses Sara—the person he loves most in the world—for him again to withdraw, not necessarily into himself but away from anyone and anything that might remind him of Sara—seems highly probable. To “sail away” from his former life and become immersed in a kind of eco-terrorism, in an effort to defend those who cannot defend themselves.
On some metaphoric level, I do see Grissom and Sara as filling in each other’s blanks, so the fact that their behavior is often rather similar is not surprising. In seasons 4 and 5, when Sara was at her lowest points, we often saw her being almost intentionally reckless. I actually see Grissom’s post-divorce career choice in the same light. As if he does not care what becomes of him.
Of course the other side of that is that he chooses to do what she once wanted to do (not the eco-terrorism part but the wildlife stewardship part); meanwhile back at the ranch, i.e. in Vegas, she lives a life becoming closer and closer to the one he was living when they first met: job/career as everything. And, clearly, she does not intend ever to love anyone again.
As to his Lonely Whale speech in Immortality, I suspect that didn’t come out of thin air. Out alone on the ocean, it would not surprise me to learn that he had written her many, many love letters that he never sent. I suspect that he soon realized that he had made a big mistake, but he also had no idea how to fix it. Two terrible possibilities loomed: (1) She really was glad to be free of him and had moved on with her life—including with a new man, or (2) He had so misread the situation that the hurt he had inflicted upon her was unforgiveable, a schism that could never be repaired.
I think for the most part he subsisted on an emotional level and threw himself into his work. It is what he does. I do not think he became involved with any other woman, nor did he so desire. He may have talked to Heather now and again, but I suspect it was more two old friends “catching up” than anything of a romantic nature. My thought on the phone call mentioned in Immortality is that it was somehow connected to the death of her granddaughter. (It makes sense that she would have called him when she died and that he would have called her once he was back “in range” to check on her.)
In other words, he was a very lonely broken-hearted man who, once again, thought he had lost the only person he had ever loved, and it was his own fault. And he honestly felt he could do nothing about it.
Hope this little ramble is close to what you were looking for.

She could see her hair cascade down her back like a waterfall in the shadows of the flickering fire, and she let a primal moan rumble through her at the sight. Being stuck in this rustic cabin, clearly left to age among the wilderness had Scully feeling wild herself, and it felt as if their bodies danced to an ancient song among the elements.

The Devil Wears Denim
Part of @emceesynonymroll ‘s Wacky Drabble’s #35/36???
Part 2 of 3 from the Little Sh!t series
Tumblr media
Summary: Drake and Alyssa are stuck with Nikolas for the night.
Wacky Drabble Prompt: Aren’t you going to read the instructions
Using Friends Prompts from @loveellamae  In fact, I’m undercover right now. I’m a whore and What’s the worst that could happen? I could die.
A/N: Thanks @burnsoslow for letting my little menace torture your couple and pre-reading. I’m fairly certain that one part was written more for your enjoyment (it wasn’t supposed to be that long Burns... lol).
Look Enna! I wrote two drabbles in less than a month :) And we have a worldwide pandemic to thank for that.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Hell no! That little shit is not staying in our house.” Drake spat at the small boy who had his father’s boyish looks and his mother’s witty charm.
“Drake. He’s just a little boy,” Alyssa defended. “What’s the worst that could happen?”
“I could die.”
Alyssa chuckled and wrapped her thin arms around Drake’s waist. She was somewhat amused by what was perceived to be her boyfriend being overly dramatic. “You are not going to die. I’ve been with him most of the afternoon and he’s been a perfect, well-behaved child. And besides, it’s already getting late and Riley could really use a break to deal with her … post-mortem detention.”
“Baby, I love your kind heart. I really do,” he said while tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear. “But, Liam and Riley have a nanny who can help out with the kids. He doesn’t need to stay here.”
Alyssa shook her head. “No. Nik said she got fired.”
Drake furrowed his brows at his young god-son. “Your parent’s fired, Hilda?” he interrogated.
“Nope. I had to let her go, Uncle Drake.” Nik replied while opening a can of soda he helped himself to from the Walker fridge. “She wasn’t following my rules.”
“What damn rules?” Drake scowled.
Nik took a sip of his soda and made a sour face before he dumped it whole into the trash can. “You know … don’t be a snitch. She ratted me out to my dad about running over the Countess of Genitalia. And you know what they say about snitches, Uncle Drake … they get stitches.”
Drake gave Alyssa a knowing look who doesn’t even seem to notice due to her own shock.
“Oh my god, Nikolas! What’d you do to her?”
The young boy flashed her a cocky wink and a smirk. “Nothing a long wig and pair of sunglasses can’t cover-up, my love.”
Alyssa snapped an astonished glance at her boyfriend who simply shrugged. “Told ya.”
She followed behind Nikolas who pulled out a chair at the table and started coloring.
She crouched down next to him and took a deep breath. “Okaaay. Look, Nik. I had a lotta fun hanging out with you today, I really did, but it’s probably best if you go back to your home for the night.”
Nikolas stopped coloring to look at her; his face crestfallen, and sighed. “I understand, Miss Alyssa. Just know that I will never forget you. Your smile … your laugh … your lovely lady lumps. That kick-ass grilled cheese you made me. And how you taught me to make useless shit with yarn and pipe cweaners … you make me want to be a better boy … a better prince for Condomonia.
Drake rolled his eyes and pulled his cell phone from his back pocket. “Give me a fucking break. I’m calling Liam right now and having him send someone to pick up your ass.”
Alyssa stood and leaned into Drake. “You probably should watch your language around him.”
“Seriously, Alyssa? The boy just said shit and that’s one of his milder ones,” he scoffed while placing the phone to his ear. “He once made the entire Royal Guard cry after bitching them out.”
Alyssa winced and scratched her head as Drake walked away to make his call. She was somewhat confused, having met Nikolas’ parents during a few social gatherings. Liam was always very courteous and respectful; every bit the compassionate leader she had heard of him. Riley appeared to be a loving mother who doted on her children and husband.
As she watched this child, with his little tongue sticking out while he worked studiously on a drawing of an anaconda that appeared to be squeezing the life out of the man she loved, Alyssa pondered whether he was just misunderstood. She was pulled from her thoughts when Drake moved up beside her with a fake laugh.
“Well...Apparently the entire palace is on a damn lock-down after they found the German Prime Minister hogtied in a linen closet. The German security forces won’t allow anyone in, or out until they catch the supposed midget in tactical gear that apparently waterboarded her. So, of course, Liam is busy dealing with that shit and Riley’s phone went straight to voicemail. Got anything you wanna confess kid”
Nikolas continued to color, completely unfazed. “I told her she could come out when she agreed to my dad’s trade steal. She smelled like an old lady anyway .. she wouldn’t have been missed.”
Drake ran a hand down his face, trying to keep his cool.
Alyssa pulled him to the opposite end of the kitchen and lowered her voice.
“Look, baby. Listen .... we’re not going to panic, okay?  I will keep him busy and out of your hair. He seems to respond well to me and we’ll just make the best of it, alright?
“Lyssa … we had plans for tonight, remember? I really wanted to spank that sexy ass in those new restraints.” He flashed a devilish grin with a pinch to her backside
She bit her lip, returning a sultry gaze. “Oh that shit’s still happening, Drake Walker.”
“Promise?”
She stood on her tiptoes to place a peck on his lips. “Promise. As soon as he falls asleep.”
Feeling a gnawing burn in the pit of his stomach, Drake ran his fingers through his hair and glanced at the little prince. “You really think you can handle him where we both don’t wind up in a shallow grave in the backyard?”
Alyssa stood up straighter with a confident smile. “I believe so, yes.”
Drake sulked as he sauntered back across the kitchen and Alyssa began pulling pots from the cabinet.
He towered over the boy. “Okay, kid. You can stay.”
“Really?” Nikolas beamed.
Drake gave him a stern look while he lightly gripped the back of Nik’s neck. “Yeah. But, you try any funny shit, Nikolas and I swear to god I’ll bust your ass.”
Nikolas tried to stifle a laugh that he hoped his uncle noticed … and Drake did. “God, you’re such a little asshole. I’m gonna go feed the horses,” he dismissed.
“Alright Nik, how about you help me with dinner … spaghetti and meatballs!” Alyssa called cheerfully for him as she filled a pot with water.
“Anything for you, my queen!”
Alyssa was right in her assumption that Nik would not cause any problems for her. She didn’t say anything to him as the meatballs he formed were in the shape of penises; it was obvious he was fishing for attention. Drake, on the other hand, was quick to refuse to eat the “little dicks staring at him” for dinner, especially ones that had Nikolas grubby paws on them.
And after playing an hour of Grand Theft Auto, in which he tried to teach her how to get the hooker to slash the throat of a pimp, he took a bath, brushed his teeth, and settled into the guest room.
“Good night, Miss Alyssa,” he croaked in his sleepy voice. He tucked the stuffed dragon his father gave him into his chest and closed his eyes.
She smiled as she flipped the light switch by the door. “Good night, Nikolas.”
Drake was still alive and in one piece, and Nikolas, surprisingly, hadn’t disturbed him the entire evening. Now it was time to retire the babysitter cap for the night and try out the new toy that she and Drake had been waiting for hours to use.
“He.Is.Out.” Alyssa proclaimed as she entered the master bedroom; her arms animating each word she spoke.
Drake, who was standing on the top rung of a ladder wearing nothing but denim boxershorts, clipped a chain through a metal hook in the ceiling. “It’s about damn time!”
Alyssa gawked curiously at the contraption as the rest of the chain fell. She tugged on the bottom where two leather wrist cuffs were attached an arm’s length above her short frame. The last thing she wanted was a heavy strand of steel crashing down while Drake made a bad girl out of her.
When she felt confident the chain was secure, she performed a sexy striptease while her lover’s hands roamed over each newly exposed section of skin. Drake unsnapped the metal buckles on the leather cuffs and fastened her wrist into each one.
“Wait! Aren’t you going to read the instructions?” Alyssa’s eyes flashed to Drake as if the idea suddenly popped into her head.
“Baby, I think I know what to do with these. Your hands go in here … and my hands …” He slid his fingers between her moistened folds. “go down there.” Alyssa shuddered at his husky voice and the feeling of anticipation that pooled inside of her.
Drake raised his brows. “You remember the safe word?”
“Hmm-mm. Bertrand,” she replied with a quick nod.
A smile dangled on the corner of his lips. “Very good.”
Drake slapped the leather flog across his hand and prowled like a wolf, ready to pounce its prey, around his girlfriend. Her arms outstretched tightly above her head.
“Somebody’s been a verrry bad, girl.” Alyssa teased. Her blue eyes shifting between the leather and his denim bulge.
“Oh yeah?”  He licked his lips while continuing his sensual stroll.
“Yeah. In fact, I’m undercover right now. I’m a whore … a very naughty whore.”
Drake halted his movements and raised the flog. “I suppose I’ll have to punish you then … my very naughty undercover whore.”
“Ohh no, Officer Walker! Please don’t hurt me! Me so horny, me love you long time!”
Meanwhile…
One, beady blue eye popped open from a disturbance occurring on the floor directly above him. It was a sound he wasn’t that familiar with. For the last year, he had memorized the sound of pain, yet this particular scream was unlike anything he had heard before from any of his usual victims.
“Drake! Fuck that hurts!”
The second eye popped open. He heard her yell out again and again. The sound of torture and agony reverberated through the ceiling and fell upon his perked up ears.
Was his Uncle Drake murdering Alyssa?
“Oh my god, Drake! You’re killing me!”
It seemed so.
But, would he actually murder his own girlfriend?
“Devereaux, I’m gonna shove this thing in you so hard.”
Likely.
Nikolas tossed off the covers and crept out of his bed. He slithered across the room, flipped on the lights, and retrieved his backpack that lay on top an old dresser.
It was time to put a plan into action, save his woman and make sure Drake Walker regretted the day he’d ever been born.

COVID-19: How iBuyers Are Responding to State Mandates and Market Shifts
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, brokerages across the world are shifting how they do business. One segment that’s been particularly affected is the iBuyer business. Several of the largest iBuyer companies in the U.S. have paused home-buying efforts, citing coronavirus concerns. Others, primarily those tied to more traditional brokerages, are continuing their services.
This could impact sellers who are experiencing financial hardship and wish to sell at instant-offer prices to eliminate no-longer-affordable mortgages. However, according to data from Point2Homes, buyer interest has fallen dramatically, with Google Trends showing a 23 percent drop (over a week) in real estate-related searches, such as “real estate.” Additionally, on the Point2Homes platform, a dip in traffic shows falling interest in home-buying, selling and renting—traffic fell by 35 percent earlier this month.
Here’s how each major iBuyer has responded to COVID-19:
Zillow Offers Recently, Zillow Group announced it would be pausing home-buying in all 24 markets where Zillow Offers currently operates. The decision was a direct response to local public health orders related to COVID-19, according to the company.
“Our top priority is ensuring the safety and health of our employees, customers and partners. Given the concerns for public safety and rapid developments by governments that restrict local real estate activities, we determined it was prudent to pause our home-buying to preserve our capital,” said Zillow Group CEO and Co-Founder Rich Barton in a statement. “We plan to restore Zillow Offers full operations once health concerns pass and local health orders are lifted. In the meantime, we are working to support our customers and partners in these uncertain times when home has never been more important.”
While Zillow plans to continue selling homes through Zillow Offers, it is suspending all plans to expand into other markets. Homes continue to be marketed, with the company prioritizing technology such as  Zillow 3D Home, which allows Zillow’s broker and Premier Agent partners to offer virtual showings and consultations. In terms of inventory balance, Zillow Offers currently holds 1,860 homes, down from 2,707 at the end of 2019.
“Zillow Group is well positioned to navigate these unprecedented times. We already slowed our pace of acquiring homes over the past month, while our pace of home sales in the quarter accelerated. We have a strong balance sheet and cash position, and are taking proactive steps to reduce spending to offset the important financial support we’re giving our industry partners so we may continue to best serve our mutual customers,” added Barton.
RedfinNow Recently, Redfin announced via a Form 8-K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission that its iBuyer arm, RedfinNow, would be pausing making offers on homes.
“From the beginning—repeatedly, insistently and despite growth pressure from all sides—Redfin has said that we aspire to be the most disciplined iBuyer. In every earnings call and press interview about iBuying, we’ve said that we see iBuying as part of a portfolio of options we give homeowners, reserving for ourselves the flexibility to feature different options at different times,” said CEO Glenn Kelman in a statement.
“Nothing has changed about this position. We remain as committed as ever to giving homeowners the option of an instant offer, but only when we can know what a fair price for an offer would be. With whole cities shutting down nearly all commerce, no one can say what a fair price is right now, so we’re not making any instant offers,” he added. “We expect to be making instant offers again soon, but only when the market becomes more predictable. Our discipline today is the discipline we’ve always had, and that we’ve always said we would have.”
In a blog post, Kelman said that “home-buying demand took a big hit, with year-over-year growth dropping from nearly 27 percent in January and February to 1 percent growth over the past seven days.”
Offerpad Offerpad has also temporarily shut down its instant offers program. A message on its website reads:
“Due to health concerns for customers and employees, and to ensure we are complying with proper local municipalities, protocols and CDC requirements related to COVID-19, we are not currently sending offers to new sellers directly. Interested sellers can still request an offer, which will be delivered when we resume our core business of instant offers.”
Offerpad did not respond to a request for comment.
Opendoor According to its CEO and co-founder, Eric Wu, Opendoor is also temporarily pausing its offers; however, the company is continuing to sell off its inventory.
“While we’ve temporarily paused new acquisitions, we still have Opendoor homes on the market that are being purchased,” an Opendoor spokesperson tells RISMedia.
A recent blog post from Wu includes details about the iBuyer’s change in protocol and steps it is taking to close existing transactions.
“Though major parts of our experience are virtual and self-service, there are still elements that require real-world interaction from our teammates, including home assessments and home repairs. Thus, we made the decision last week to prioritize the safety of our customers and teammates by temporarily pausing new offers,” said Wu in the blog post.
In terms of sellers who are currently in contract with Opendoor, the company is requesting that customers expedite their closing or delay it until stay-at-home mandates are lifted. Customers can also cancel their deals if they’d like. For listing homes, Opendoor says it is partnering with local agents who are offering “creative solutions to list virtually.”
“We’ll continue to put our customers first and work hard to ensure we can continue to help customers move with ease and convenience with everyone’s health and safety in mind,” said Wu.
RealSure In response to the spread of COVID-19, Realogy’s iBuyer arm, RealSure, is also pressing pause on its cash offers.
“RealSure was designed to provide home sellers peace of mind with a more flexible real estate experience anchored by assurance and expert guidance. Helping home sellers get the best value for their home is important to us, and with the volatility of the current market, we do not believe that RealSure can now provide the value the program was designed to deliver,” a spokesperson at RealSure tells RISMedia. “Therefore, to maintain the integrity and future of RealSure, we made the difficult decision to suspend all cash offers at this time. We remain committed to RealSure as a great resource for agents to provide flexibility and assurance to home sellers, and are actively monitoring the market with the goal of restarting the program as soon as possible.”
Keller Offers Keller Offers, the iBuying division of Keller Williams, announced it was making modifications to its programs to “prioritize safety and to manage delays caused by the changing conditions related to the coronavirus,” according to a statement from the Keller Offers Team.
At this point in time, Keller Offers has not paused its home offers, and the company has said it has no immediate intentions of doing so.
“At Keller Offers, we remain focused on providing value to our Keller Williams agents as they work tirelessly to be the voice of certainty for their clients in a very uncertain time,” Gayln Ziegler, COO of Keller Offers, tells RISMedia. “We take each day’s events and pivot as necessary to ensure the safety and well-being of our clients, partners and employees while working to provide a level of certainty consumers need now more than ever before.”
Express Offers The iBuying segment of eXp Realty, Express Offers is keeping its program open, focusing primarily on managing expectations, says RJ Jones, EVP of Growth and Finance for eXp World Holdings.
“We are still up and running, bringing this service to as many people as possible but managing expectations that the likelihood of price match is probably lower right now, factoring in the emotions and what’s going on in the economy,” says Jones.
Because eXp Realty is a virtual brokerage to begin with, Jones says that its iBuyer branch has an advantage over other iBuyers who are halting business operations, because they are modeled with thin profit margins and are more directly impacted by government restrictions.
“We are already remote, and all our agents have been operating in such a way that there is no interruption in the way we do our business,” says Jones. “I think iBuyers are going to continue being a force in the market, providing home sellers with the options to evaluate offers and make great decisions.”
As the coronavirus and its impact on the industry unfold, RISMedia is providing resources and updates. Get the latest.
