Addressing the theory that Kieran is experiencing Toxic Chain-possession, CaylaCapsule of Twitter noticed a very brief purple glow around Kieran's fist when he punched their memorial.
My thought is it acts in a similar manner to what Nihilego's venom did. It twists the desires and emotions of its hosts/victims and corrupts them to lose their inhibitions, and become more aggressive/ruthless in how they act.
Looking at Bulbapedia, the L3 were mentioned to be weak, dull Pokemon before the contact with the chain, with no mention of them being evil or anything beforehand, and with the chain altering Munkidori's brain to give it Psychic abilities, it's possible it altered all their mental states too:

Legends Z-A was announced less than an hour ago and I’m still buzzing. My biggest question right now is the STARTERS.
Tumblr media
Given that Legends Arceus had starters plucked from other regions, I feel the new game will do the same. The Kalos Starters will not be the starters of Legends Z-A if they’re following format. And I feel it’s safe to assume they won’t double up on regions cutting out Johto, Unova, and Alola.
Tumblr media
One factor I’m leaning on heavily is that Mega Pokémon are implied to be returning. Which begs the question: Will the starters of Legends Z-A have regional variant forms, or mega forms?
If we’re getting starters that get megas, I can only assume we’ll be getting a Kanto and Hoenn starter, and one other random starter that will be getting a mega. Personally I feel it’s too soon for them to put a Paldean starter into a new game. Galar is a maybe, but all of their starters have G-Max forms (not that that matters, all the Kanto Starters have Megas and G-Max forms..). Leaving Sinnoh.
But this is all speculation and I could be entirely wrong. Starters may just be Pokémon that fit thematically with Kalos, so starters with origins that work could also fit right in.
This is all fun early announcement speculation. And I look forward to seeing where these games go! I’d love to hear other peoples takes and thoughts too! :)

another interesting twitter observation I wanna talk about
people may have just uncovered a new / upcoming pokemon in Teal Mask related to the Loyal Three
story spoilers for Teal Mask ahead, also pretty long post warning
so in this image used when Carmine and Kieran’s grandpa is explaining Ogerpon’s real backstory to us, people noticed this cut off shape above Okidogi’s head.
Tumblr media
Some people seem convinced that this is Okidogi’s hand / fist, but I personally don’t think it looks like that at all. One person suggested that this is Ogerpon without its mask on, which is hilariously wrong, hilariously stupid and makes zero sense in context.
However, a full image of this “mysterious shape” was apparently found in the games files, with all the other assets used in this sequence.
Tumblr media
So naturally, people believe this is a new Pokemon. And while I find it reasonable to an extent to doubt this image’s validity, there is something in game to corroborate this. In the shop in Mossui Town, there’s a plush that looks exactly like this supposed Pokemon, just upside down, which is interestingly coloured the same as the Loyal Three’s toxic chains.
Tumblr media
For those who don’t know, although the roles are reversed Ogerpon and the Loyal Three are based on the Japanese story of Momotarō, a boy who befriended a talking dog, monkey and pheasant (the Loyal Three) and worked with them to defeat a band of Oni (Ogerpon). However as you probably know if you’ve finished the Teal Mask story, the Loyal Three don’t really have a leader or Momotarō equivalent as far as we can see. However if we’re to assume this little purple thing is a real Pokemon, it’s safe to assume it’ll fill that role.
There’s even more evidence to back up this suggestion too. For one, the Loyal Three are all classified as “Retainer Pokemon” in the Pokedex. One definition of the word “retainer”- the only one that really makes sense in this sort of context- is essentially a servant or domestic worker. It’s very interesting that they’d choose to classify the Loyal Three as Retainers, rather than something more fitting to what we see of them in the game like “Ruffian Pokemon” or just the animals they’re based on or something, because this implies that they are indeed working under something or someone.
The other bit of evidence is that, like I said, the plushie of this supposed Pokemon is coloured the same as the Loyal Three’s toxic chains. Their Scarlet dex entries talk about how their bodies were changed and enhanced by these chains, implying that they were something different, probably smaller and weaker pokemon, originally. It’s possible that this pokemon was the source of these chains and the one who gave them to the Three, maybe in exchange for them becoming its “Retainers”.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So essentially, this supposed Pokemon is the Loyal Three’s “Momotarō”.
What do you guys think of this? With how much evidence there seems to be, I find it hard to believe nothing will come of this at all, although I am curious exactly how they’d introduce this thing if Kitakami’s story is all wrapped up.

Alright after watching the trailer about 3 times I'm gonna make some wild predictions:
The game will be split up over 6 areas, 5 in the city and the tower, each area will have either a gym like area or a park, unknown which, and you'll probably have to take on a boss of some sort, either starting with or culminating at the tower, with each area unlocking as you beat a boss (the excuse being that they are working on the urban redevelopment mentioned in the trailer so you cannot go through an active construction site) there will be new “domesticated” regional forms and new megas as well
Tumblr media
also there's gonna be a new gimmick on top of the Megas that's gonna have this symbol

If N is the Zoroark who guides you to N, why do you think the said Zoroark would guide you to him in the first place rather than directly appearing in his human form to guide you to his castle? Why would he take his Zoroark's appearance specifically to guide you to his castle just to take back his human form when you arrive to the castle? It's clear that the Zoroark was guiding you to his trainer, so N and his Zoroark can't be the same being.
It's much more likely that N is one of the ancient king (the one mentioned in the abyssal ruins) descendants as the king is said to talk to "all beings", the implication being that he understands pokemon. This is also backed by Zinzolin who suggests that the ancient king's powers were passed to his descendants. This quote was intentionally included by the writers and said by one of the more important characters of the games (who's also one of the most important members of an organisation that N used to run). It's clear what the implications are: N is one of the ancient king's descendants as he shares the same ability to understand Pokemon. In this case, N is 100% a human who just happens to inherit the king's ability to understand Pokemon.
I already covered this in another post but the fact that Ghetsis considers himself to be royalty, that he was intrigued by the ancient king and his story (as the translations of the scripts were left by Ghetsis), that he shares a suspiciously similar haircut with N who's also implied to be the king's descendant and on the top of all, that the the number of letters in the king's name matches the number of letters in "Harmonia" in all languages heavily HEAVILY implies that Ghetsis and N are both descendants of the ancient king. Which make it even possible for N to be Ghetsis' biological son whom he abondoned in the woods on purpose, more likely to hide their blood relation from his co-workers due to his disgust of N whom he sees as a "freak without a human heart" due to the fact that he understands pokemon.
If Ghetsis is one of the king's descendants, it's likely that he sees himself as a rightful successor to the ancient king and that's exactly why he specifically wants to be Unova's king (or by proxy through N if he didn't intend getting rid of N once he fulfilled his usefulness, by awaking Zekrom/Reshiram and forcing people to abondon their pokemon), rather than any other type of ruler.
It's such a fascinating subject and it's unfortunate that the writers never further elaborated on it, leaving it all in subtext. I just REALLY hope that if Game Freak makes a BW remake they would further elaborate on that, and perhaps it will make Ghetsis a much more complex and interesting character.

Alright time to say it, and I'm pretty sure everyone's figured it out.
But let me explain a few things here and a Theory + possible spoilers if its true.
Kieran definitely wasn't as much of a skilled trainer then as to now, he's mostly shy and behind his older sister, he looks up to her and he's surprised to see the protagonist beat his sister in battle which has him admire us.
During the story Kieran eavesdropped the True story about what really happened about Ogerpon and the Loyal Three, he's distant and cold towards the player and Carmine. I understand his resentment and frustration. But Kieran's actions are fueled by his obsession, and desire to be stronger just like Ogerpon. His obsession about Ogerpon was ruined because Ogerpon chose us, his dream with Ogerpon was destroyed, everything he had was ruined. Thus he wanted one thing, the desire to become stronger so we could battle him listen to his themes, ones more gentle soft, and less complicated, we see him as he's definitely skilled but not in the way we'd see him. The final battle with him is a more complicated hard, it's us being confused and not seeing how he's turning, we're a way out for him, he's stuck he wants out. (More to this in my theory section.)
I enjoy his entire character, and here's the thing people don't realize that Kieran hates us and Carmine, but realize he doesn't specifically hate any one, he'd definitely resent his own family about the whole truth being kept from him, and we feel it, not shown but the music shows his complicated life.
And here's where people are mixed
Most hate Carmine because she's "controlling, mean, etc." well, some older siblings can act like her irl, I mean that literally. What Carmine shows is that she'd be verbal, but not physically abusive to her brother. How he made friends is most likely her being a threat to any new friend he'd make I mean this as a "possibility" and when she comes to tell us about how Kieran has no skill in Ogre Oustin, we could also assume that he wasn't as a skilled trainer so Blueberry Academy would definitely see her as a " Champion" for her serious capabilities of a trainer. I personally enjoy her as throughout the Kitakami story SHE'S the one helping us fight the Loyal Three, SHE took responsibility of Kieran's actions (though indirectly caused as we don't really know what made the Loyal Three come back but I will get to that as a theory section hold your horses.)
The Indigo Disk Story THEORY!!!
Carmine is definitely treated as a "Champion" we know who we'd fight as a final battle which is Kieran, but the characters wont know except for Carmine.
the Master of the Loyal Three was obscured it was "shown" as a thing in Peachy's shop. I have a crazy idea, which I wrote out on a piece of paper at work and lost it but I do remember most of what I wrote.
Kieran's emotions are unstable, his mentality is unstable and being fueled by getting stronger. The Master, is granting his "Wish" to his pure desire of being a Strong trainer, this is the Purple Aura around his right hand in a scene, and possibly seen faintly on a poster. Whether this Master is controlling Kieran or it's fueling his desire to defeat the player.
When we're going to face the champion of Blueberry Academy, we won't see Carmine, we'll see Kieran he's determined, he's ready, he throws his pokemon to battle, but the Master comes out last it's the one who made Kieran lose control of himself, he's been reckless then, and it knew what he was capable of, so it chose him as it's trainer temporarily.
Whether this is during or after Terapagos is depending on how it goes.
If we have Ogerpon in our team Kieran might snap more " Ogerpon..... Why? Why didn't you choose me!? ....Whatever, I will battle you." The theme might be a remix of Kieran's theme but a more dramatic overtone, then it will hit with a sad emotional portions we'd battle Kieran as serious as he is, and controlled by the Master. Once the Master is defeated, it will let go of Kieran and release him to us Kieran might still feel some desired wish to battle us, but this time he's in a more controlled environment as opposed to then
while the Loyal Three Master will most definitely flee somewhere for us to capture it since it's already weakened but because it wasn't necessarily in a Pokeball, this mean's it will definitely challenge us again in a weakened state like how we dealt with Necrozma in Ultra Sun Ultra Moon.
What I'm essentially saying is The Master Granted the Desired wishes to Okidogi, Munkidori, and Fezandipiti. This means it fuels on the negativity of those who want their wishes, meaning it saw potential in Kieran and fueled his negativity to make him lose control to use it. I know this sounds very much boosh, but I just wanted to make this theory and it would definitely be buried along the way and want people to see this theory.

I notice this strange logo at the beginning of the trailer. Doesn’t look like Team Flare, so maybe either a new organization that the player character may work like the Galaxy Team for or a new evil team?

Source.
Ugh, I really wish they did more with this woman and the idea we could have gotten that but didn't is disappointing. (Idk if any of this is true or not, but if it was, it's sad.)
Like, she's so suspicious and did feel like a character that should have had more relevance than she actually did between the criminal/treasure-thief hints and her desire to unlock/obtain the Ruinous Legends. (I was thinking they could have given her an interest in Terapagos too, maybe interactions with Briar? Or perhaps she should've chaperoned instead of Jacq because she'd be all over those old Kitakami legends.)

I've seen a lot of jokes about how Tinkaton hunts own Corviknight. Which is really funny, don't get me wrong. However, I think people have overlooked Talonflame's potential part in this food chain.
In Talonflame's pokedex entry, they talk about how it can easily carry prey that weighs over 220 pounds. According to the pokedex, Tinkaton's hammer, weighs 220 pounds.
I'm willing to suggest that do to this very specific repeating number, Talonflame hunt down Tinkaton. Which in turn makes me think that Tinkerton attack any large flying pokemon in their territory. That way they've defended themselves from a dangerous pokemon, and potentially get some Corviknight parts to improve their hammers.
This might also be a reason why none of the larger bird pokemon where chosen instead of Squawkabilly. Any large bird might be attacked, though Corviknight especially so.
That said, this is just a vague theory. There is another possibility I had for the specific number. See, Cufant also weighs 220 pounds. So it might be a reference to the Roc. Which is a large bird that was said to hunt/carry elephants.

so the Koraidon / Miraidon tera form and Loyal Three leader speculations I posted yesterday got a bit more traction than I really expected so they’ve been on my mind a lot today, and between my own thoughts and points made from people in the replies, I have a couple more things to add (mostly for the Loyal Three theory)
Teal Mask story spoilers and potential leaks for future DLC / Pokemon ahead
Previous Posts on these subjects:
Koraidon / Miraidon tera forms:
Loyal Three leader:
Now that you're all caught up, here's the new stuff:
Koraidon / Miraidon tera form theory
So on the Koraidon / Miraidon front, I wanted to elaborate on the point I made about how the tera symbol they (and Ogerpon) have on their pokedex images could just be a mark to indicate that they’re mascot legendaries, because I remembered they already have special details for this reason. Instead of the standard coloured frame / dex number, these three all have gold frames with some added details specific to each of them. Miraidon, for example, has a gold frame with designs resembling its chest wheel and lightning bolt patterns in the middle of the page.
Tumblr media
I wanna bring this up because I think them already having special details due to being mascot legendaries could both corroborate or counter the idea that the tera mark carries the same meaning
on one hand, since they already have special dex pages it’s not outlandish to assume that the poke ball symbol would be changed for the same reason. It’s just another bit of additional style to go with the fancy dex frame
on the other hand, given that the other details are all personalised to each of the legendaries, I find it weird that they’d have a tera symbol specifically to carry the same meaning, rather than something more personalised like the rest of the added flair or something more generic like a Master Ball that can be more obviously associated with their legendary status
Someone also suggested in the replies of the first post that Ogerpon carries this symbol due to Kitakami’s implied connection to Area Zero- probably referring to the Crystal Pool area- however I personally don’t really get the argument here and think that if this tera mark was supposed to represent a connection to Area Zero it’d be applied to the other paradox pokemon (and maybe Glimmora) as well since they all came from the Great Crater, however they all just have the same generic poke ball mark.
I still think there’s a lot missing to properly confirm or deny this theory, and the dex marks alone definitely aren’t enough in my opinion given how debatable their meaning is, however for that reason I wanna bring up any kind of valid point that comes up in case something leads to a stronger argument
Loyal Three leader theory
Like last time there’s a lot more going on with this theory and, thanks to some observations people made in the replies of the last post- as well as a couple thoughts of my own- there’s even more evidence going into it now
For starters, one of the more to the point pieces of evidence, people have allegedly datamined some codenames for certain Indigo Disk Pokemon, one of which translates to “Poison Momotarō”, which would obviously relate to this supposed leader Pokemon given its resemblance to the Loyal Three’s toxic chains and its probable status as their leader and equivalent to Momotarō.
Tumblr media
Centro marking this translation with a peach emoji also made me realise another parallel this Pokemon has to the Momotarō story. In the story, Momotarō was born from a giant peach, and if we look at the Pokemon it does bear a vague resemblance to a peach. Additionally, the shop in Mossui Town where the plushie of it is found is called Peachy’s. Feels a bit too coincidental to not mean anything to me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another thing I had someone point out to me is that there are more hints in the game that the Loyal Three do supposedly have a leader outside of them being classified as Retainers in the Pokedex, namely the signboards, which all depict the three being accompanied by a human / trainer. This character is also acknowledged briefly by an npc at Kitakami Hall.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you’ve finished the Teal Mask story you’ll obviously know that we never see a human companion or trainer to the Loyal Three at all, not even in the accurate story told by Kieran and Carmine’s grandpa. Their only appearances are the signboards and this one npc. I also find it interesting that the one npc who mentions them questions their connection to the three, indicating that this figure probably isn’t as well known and recognised as the Loyal Three if their identity isn’t already common knowledge. Although it might just be a nod to the original Momotarō story, I personally see this as game freak hinting that the Loyal Three do have some kind of leader or ally while keeping their identity a mystery, which I think is more likely given how much evidence this theory already has.
That’s all I have on these two theories for now, I’ll try and bring anything else I find up in future, I honestly like talking about these kinds of things lol

Before Gen 8 released I noticed that Professor Magnolia had a cane shaped like a Pokémon. I thought it kinda looked like a pre-evolution to Corviknight, so I tried my best to draw that. Rookidee turned out to look quite different from this one 😅

Pokemon IRL Au: starters, theories, and Domestication.
So I was watching one of those, 'What If (-this state-) had starter pokemon' videos and i just kinda went off with my imagination, this prompt starts with my initial comment on the video, so sorry that it just flow as well as it does when seen as a comment on a video.
The mental image of the version of our world where pokemon exist, and each State apparently selectively breeding their own unique set of starters and probably have a f**k ton of 'regional variants' that are basically just a paldea Tauros situation all over the country just scrambles my brain a bit to much.
Like one states starter has a evolutionary ancestor thats treated like a infestation in some of the other states! A raccoon pokemon starter that now has three stages, when in some of the other states a raccoon pokemon that the starter descended from is a two stage, but its evolved form is strong as f**k, like pseudo legendary status strong!
imagine all the regular pokemon we know that had populations caught and domesticated into starter pokemon, that'd be so freaking cool! like, they'd have to breed with other pokemon of the same egg group to be made a certain type and desired move set. imagine the type of breeding methods it takes to develope the Torrent, Overgrow, and Blaze abilitys, we all know there's a bug type version called Swarm, but how do they develope in the breeding of starter pokemon. if you think about it from the stand point of, gain more power when your backs against the wall, it becomes a little morbid in a sense. Do you actively have them fight in a way that forces them to give it beyond their all when they are in trouble?
imagine if the Elemental monkeys were an attempt to breed some starter pokemon from the same evolutionary(darwinian) ancestor, but the original breeders(who were probably spread across the world in different isolated places, and swapped around certain members to other breeders to prevent incest breeding) stopped part way through, and just released the monkeys, and because they all lived together in labs the trio of species naturally are drawn too and live along side each other! makes me curious about the original, maybe it was a triple branch evo, that leads to a dual type in each one, which is why it was chosen, and where the stone evolution was from. Maybe it wasn't even the same types as the elemental monkeys, but were secondary typings, like a normal type that evolves into three dual types of Dark/fire, Psychic/water, or Ghost/Grass using the Dusk, Dawn, and shiny stones? I wonder what the final results would have been like, maybe they would have a hidden ability that allowed them apply Stab to moves based on the type of evo stone they were holding! The theme these three had was Chefs if I remember correctly.
I'm sure some species had the triple stage evos naturally, but I'm certain not all of them had them.
I'd love to see domesticated descendants of known pokemon that were breed into starter pokemon, like a Fire starter that descended from Lucario, of course none of the stages could be called Lucario after its domestication and breeding.
Maybe I should do something with this? Like I come up with a large group of wild fakemon based on animals found in my state and those around it, and choose three to be made into starters, I'll probably use that Raccoon example, I've been seeing alot of Raccoon recently, but only as roadkill, which is pretty morbid, but also a somewhat good inspiration, ghost typing, but for the wild ancestor thats still running around.
-maybe in this Au, someone has actually bred The Shinx line to be Dark type? Though I never understood everyone's obsession with being mad about that, Incineroar is literally a wrestler, I dont see people being mad its not a fire/fighting type, and I don't care about if its because of the drama of Fire/Fighting type starters. Same thing with Absol, it has Psychic powers to perceive incoming disasters, and its a pure dark type, I dont see people getting mad about that! Its dark type literally only aligns with its emo obsession of needing to be mysterious and socially awkward!
-also, this breeding thing could contribute to more powerful versions of pokemon. Mega evolutions literally just stacks the biological potential of the pokemon into what it'll naturally develope into in the future, and unlocks some dormant genes. I'm sure you could literally breed that kind of result into a species. Maybe its how 'mega evolution' could exist in this universe, just, literal battle bred breeds of pokemon. I'm sure the tributes of the Primal Paradox pokemons designs could work for 'Mega Bred' breeds. Maybe the idea developed from some old action show, and the show used the fictional 'mega evolution' as the gimmick in it, and people just, liked it and applied natural logic and science to it and bred these Uber strong pokemon.
-the gender ratio of starter pokemon was also likely bred on purpose, and likely most females are held so its harder for others to bred their own for a profit.

For those who were wondering what kind of upbringing Silver had, I feel like Pokemon Masters indirectly gave us an answer:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
At very least, we know that Silver didn't have a normal upbringing. The line "don't assume for one second, Nate, that others have had the same upbringing as you" is interestingly immediately followed by him lamenting about how "rough" it can be to have a narcissistic prick for a father (which is obvious projection as noted by N), which seems to indicate that he had an unhappy childhood, not just a "different" one. This also suggests that his upbringing is one of the many reasons why he's unsure about what he would do if his father ever decided to turn himself around and ask for forgiveness, so he's curious about what N would do, now that the latter is seemingly in similar situation with Ghetsis.
Also, Silver's lodge dialogue seems to imply that he never had any friends growing up (which was already obvious):
"Ethan and the others are always going on about "friends," and I wanted to hear what you thought about that. I'm not talking about the definition of the word. Of course I know that. But if a friend is just someone you can laugh and joke around with, that's such a weak connection that I don't see the point. I mean, it's fine to spend time with someone if you're competing and getting stronger together...But what's the point of acting all buddy-buddy, like Ethan and the others? After all, the point of competing is to beat the other person, right? I've got no use for any sickly sweet feelings. But everyone else seems so happy with the idea of being "friends," like they want us all to run around holding hands or something. If you expect me to do that...forget it. So you're saying a friend is someone you can...be yourself around?"
This combined with the implication that he had a different upbringing seems to suggest that Silver grew up sheltered just like N was . Though, I highly doubt that Giovanni did it out of pure malice. At worst, he was trying to groom him to make him the heir of Team Rocket. Or he was simply overprotective of him (and for good reason because Silver is the son of a crime lord after all).
Personally, I believe that he was just trying to preserve the "ideal" image his son had of him as it would fit with the narcissism he displays in the games, one of these instances of display being:
"You told me… you were the number one in the world! "
Giovanni made Silver believe that he was the “number one in the world” which seems to indicate that Giovanni wanted to feel admired by Silver (perhaps it also explains why he didn't admit that he was leaving to train to get stronger but instead told Silver he was leaving to build a stronger organization: he was still desperately trying to maintain the illusion rather than plainly admitting to his son’s face that he needs to get stronger, as it would confirm to Silver that he was never the strongest trainer he claimed to be). After all, narcissists seek external admiration as it helps them to validate the false image they made up about themselves. Giovanni likely knew that the truth would hit Silver hard and that he would lose all his respect as a result, so possibly isolated the kid out of fear that he might find out about his lie (as anyone could contradict his version), at least untill he proves his point to his son by conquering the world with powerful 'mon and ensures that no one and nothing would make Silver question it anymore.
