"This isn't the first time someone has asked me out, and there have been many guys who wanted to take me on a nice date. However, I've always declined their offers and refused to go with them. I have this fear that's difficult to explain. I've never been on a date before, nor have I met guys who see me in a romantic way. If someone does express interest, I tend to ghost them because I'm scared. I've never dated anyone, had my first kiss, or engaged in any intimate relationship. In today's modern generation, I'm seen as boring and old-fashioned.

Dates may sound nice, with conversations in bed, but the whole process makes me uncomfortable. Choosing a dress from my old closet and finding the right clothes to look attractive and pleasing is unsettling for me. I don't want to fit into a revealing Emerald Green slit dress to emphasize my desired features, nor do I want to wear a Coral Pink Kurti with jhumkas to look old-fashioned, which you might find boring.

You might choose a high-class restaurant with perfect continental food, but I prefer street food that makes my mouth water. And then there's the conversation, with your credit card next to you, which can be intimidating. You may make a move and pay the bill, asserting dominance over me. It reminds me of how patriarchy holds power over women. You may touch me and be clingy, wanting to kiss. Yes, kissing and being intimate are normal, but you won't know how my neighbor assaulted me when I was 10 years old, causing me to prevent any men from touching my body, even my own father.

The idea of love and intimacy scares me so much that I prefer being alone rather than someone loving me with wrong intentions and violating my boundaries. My virginity has become a topic among my friends, while losing it has become cool. Yes, I'm a virgin woman who thinks differently from others in this generation. I often feel the generation gap within my own generation, questioning who is right and who is wrong. I become the subject of comedians' jokes, targeted for my virginity and the way women lose it. There are countless things in this world to make fun of, yet people choose me, my sufferings, and my virginity as their source of laughter.

My idea of love and intimacy is something else, something you won't understand, just as I may not fully grasp your concept of love and sex. It's easy to be physically naked with someone, but can you emotionally expose yourself and let your guard down completely? Can you trust someone with your whole body, mind, and soul? I've come to realize that there are two types of people in this world. The first type loves others to have fun and fulfill their desires, consensually. The second type seeks emotional, physical, and spiritual connection, to truly understand one another's body, mind, and soul.

I respect people's choices because humans have sound minds and can think for themselves. But I am definitely the second type of person, hoping to grow, heal, and stay together until our love resonates within each other's worlds. Nevertheless, thinking about all these things can be frustrating. It often feels like I'm the black sheep in this generation, left out. It's sad, yet it's also satisfying to know that I'm forming my own idea of love and intimacy based on the traumatic phases of my life. Ultimately, people love others in the way they understand love and intimacy."
