Some Doodles

I was on a magma last night with @indecisive-dizzy so here some doodles I done did

I thought this would be ridiculous, and I was right. They are NOT to proportion!!! I was just doodlin’. Anyway @cherrythepuppet your kid is break dancing at my kid.

Paulette and Latter want to make s’mores and Howdy’s being a dick about it. I think Paulette and Latter are super close! If Latter lived in home, Paulie would definitely hang out with him instead of Howdy. Purple coded Pillars make me happy

Marnie: I did. I broke it…

Dandy: No. No, you didn’t. Toni?

Antoni: Don’t look at me. Look at Grover.

Grover: What?! I didn’t break it.

Antoni: Huh. That’s weird. How did you even know it was broken?

Grover: Because it’s sitting right in front of us and it’s broken!

Antoni: Suspicious.

Grover: No, it’s not!

Riley: If it matters, probably not… Paul was the last one to use it.

Paulette: Liar! I don’t even drink that crap!

Riley: Oh really? Then what were you doing by the coffee cart earlier?

Paulette: I use the wooden stirrers to push back my cuticles. Everyone knows that, Riley!

Marnie: Alright let’s not fight. I broke it, let me pay for it, Dandy.

Dandy: No. Who broke it

Grover [whispering]: Dandy, Penny's been awfully quiet…

Penny: Really?!

Grover: Yeah, really!

Dandy: I broke it. I burned my hand so I punched it. I predict ten minutes from now, they’ll be at each other’s throats with warpaint on their faces and a pig head on a stick. Good. It was getting a little chummy around here.

A Neighbor from an Older Time!

Introducing Doctor Terrance Tops! He’s a retired archeologist and history professor who now currently runs a small museum of Home. He’s a very kind old man, with enough patience to deal with each and every neighbors quirks! Doctor Tops wants nothing more than to make it to see his great grandson hatch, although he sure is taking his time. Some people joke that he’s Poppy’s grandpa, but the two will neither confirm or deny it. He used to teach Deirdre, and since moving to home has struck up a friendship with her. Terrance is an overall upstanding man who just wants the best for his students and the people of Home.

I have 8 kids. Tell Cherry to stop inspiring me, cause he was an accident too. But now I have a sweet old man in my care, so what do I mind? I love him a lot. Good old man.

There are a lot of pairings I don’t do often and I’m like… who are you how does this work?

Minerva and Howdy - I think Minerva gets on Howdy’s nerves. She’s very prim and proper and can learn how to let loose more, but she’s gradually learning that from Eddie. Whom Howdy also doesn’t like. I think Gentleworm is not a good duo. They will be very passive aggressive towards each other.

Antoni and Julie - Oh god no this would be chaos never let them in a room together they’d do bowling but with a real person on roller skates please don’t let Pastarcobaleno happen it would be TERRIFYING

Jonesy and Frank - A little kid and a proper man? We already know that Deirdre and Frank are good pals, but giving Jonesy another authority figure who has a garden? He may or may not get reprimanded for biting the tomatoes and maybe even eating a bug that Frank was studying. Safe to say, Fruitbug are not good friends.

Marnie and Sally - I think they only interact when Sally needs a musician to play in the pit. Marnie is suspicious of Sally because of how often Deirdre’s been writing stories about D and S names paired together. I think they don’t talk a lot, and it’s honestly for the best. No duo name here because I can’t think of one.

Paulette and Wally - Not bad actually! Wally listens and is interested in the pretty stars, he just doesn’t like staying up late. Wally ends up recreating Starry Night and Paulette is so happy. I actually think that’s their duo name… Starrynight is a fine choice in friends!

An Extended Neighborhood!

Oh, I’ve been busy today! Part of my personal work over the weekends is to draw one big thing per day. Today’s topic was: Neighborhood homes and phones! So we’ll be going in order!

Marnie’s house and phone are rather quaint. It’s gotten an update since its first appearance alongside Marnie. She’s very happy in her little cottage just down the road from Poppy and slightly out of the way from all the hustle and bustle.

The schoolhouse! This is the home to Deirdre and her students, including Jonesy! The school is on the bottom floor, with student dormitory on the second level. Deirdre resides on the third floor. She has a personal phone and a wall mounted phone so her students can call home if they need too. A perfect fit for Home’s favorite teacher!

Paulette’s observatory! A rather large main building that hosts plenty of comfy chairs and books and a small side room where Paulette does all their living. This wonderful star-studded building is rather isolated from the rest of the neighborhood, up in the hills to get better look at the stars. Paulette loves to make late night phone calls to all their favorite people to make sure they see the latest astrological event!

Minerva Mannerly’s Miniature Manor! This glorious house is built across the lake, giving it an almost enchanted feeling! Minerva loves to look out over Home from her tall windows. Her phone is rather elegant, painted in similar floral patterns that her dress and parasol have.

The Pizzario twins share a townhouse style split level with their respective shops on the bottom. Antoni has a small patio dining area and a large kitchen space, while Dandy chose to have a little plant box. The twins each have their own phone in their shop, Antoni’s looking like a pepperoni pizza while Dandy’s looks like a perfect saltwater taffy. They really do prefer to stick together!

Here’s a lineup of all the houses and phones put together. This took a while between all the architecture research and looking back at the WH website for inspiration and such. But I had a lot of fun drawing these today. Grover just doesn’t have an actual house outside of the Fence, but I didn’t want to draw that because it’s a fence. Today was for houses. Yeah! Lotta good stuff here.

A New Neighbor Enters!

Paulette Pillar, cousin of Howdy Pillar on his Wooly Aunt Molly’s side, is a nervous astronomer taking a semi-permanent residence in Home while the best and most beautiful stars are visible! Paulette loves to learn and teach others about the stars and our world! Even though she can be a little bit nervous sometimes, Paulette Pillar has a lot of love behind them! In art of her, it’s seen that she’s taller than Howdy. Her puppet was rotated between a hand-held and a standing puppet to keep her in frame with her much shorter neighbors.

Okay, I just wanna say I made this OC to tease Cherry because they’re afraid of bugs but now I’m actually attached. So here’s some information that WHRP would NOT give you! Paulette, Paul, or Polly, uses all pronouns. They’re skilled in theremin playing and take lessons with Marine. He is TERRIBLE about getting on people’s roofs because ‘the view is better there’. Like. Honey, just ask. She and Howdy get along well cause they’re family and they love each other but damn do they not understand each other. Polly makes jokes that he’s an alien a lot. Damn. Okay, doodles!!

Click for quality babes! In summary though, Paul is good friends with Marnie, Deirdre, Jonesy, Howdy, and Poppy. She’s scared of Grover. Sally and Penny do NOT like him! They don’t know why and it makes her so sad. Just a gentle creechur… loves the stars and being alone but loves people… just a polite baby.. INCREDIBLY TALL. 9feet. What. Has a crush! On who? NOT TELING! Love Paul so much he’s so baby girl.

Hey here’s something that will make me cry.

Paulette looked up at the night sky in their telescope. They saw all the stars. His eyes drifted over to Marnie, asleep on their couch. Paulette sighed and went to sit next to her. She gently lifted her to sit down with the musician across their lap. A melancholy filled the caterpillar. They knew that she would never willingly do this. His mind went to a quote they read somewhere, and it graced her lips gently.

“And the universe said I love you, because you are love.” She whispered and placed a small, bittersweet kiss on Marnie’s forehead before he returned to studying the stars.

Ideas for Paulie’s family since I got an ask to see them with butterfly wings. That will be coming, but giving reworked Jonesy a good color palette is killing me. Read on to learn about Paulette’s family!!

Paulette has (as we know this far) 6 siblings!

Chet, who is a brash banker and burly businessman. Chet’s a bit of a bummer, but his family loves him cause he’s like no other.

Nannette is a suave swimmer and stupendous sailor. She’s spends her time selling seashells by the sea shore and scooping up shiny loot in her short and scenic schooner.

Daisy, who’s a bit ditzy and dreamy.(And a bit of a druggie, but we won’t tell if you won’t!) She’s a devoted member of her dear den of friends, where she’s a decent and decisive department head! Daisy loves a dainty and delicate touch in her work!

Bret, who’s a cheerful coach with charm that comes by the arm! He’s got a champion little league and children who fill ‘em! Bret’s the chipper twin brother of Chet, who’s frankly rather bossy. But Bret chooses to let his big brother take charge.

Henry Pillar is a handful within the pillar family! Hardly ever heeds helpful advice, leaving his whole family hurdling over to fix his hiccups.

Yolonda (Yall) Pillar is yappy yarn spinner. She’s a yearned-after lady although she’s a lying youngling without much yolk in her shell! Yall is unyielding in her journey to get her brother Henry out of any jam he may or may not have.

Some extra members include:

Tommy and Mara Pillar, the twins who do basketball and ballet are Paulette’s nephew and niece from his brother Bret. They’re sweethearts, but always looking for the future and wanna know what’ll be over the horizon!

And of course his mother Mollie, a motherly mare-do-well, and matron to her many manic family members.

Paulette, then, our anxious astronomer who needs attention and assurance from her friends. He admits that the astronomical world assumes an abundance of her time, but avoids to mention the absence of action they take to observe it. Academic and awkward, Paulette Pillar is the most avoidant and observant neighbor in Home.
