I often get asked by clients the same question... can you just send me a digital copy? Isn’t that something so easy and should take you 5 mins to send the whole gallery of photos? In this 30 second video, I only edited about 8 photos. On average I spend about 20-30 mins per photo after a whole lotta stuff has already happened. To give you some insight before you just ask for the digital copy straight from the camera I want you to know that the final images look nothing like the ones in my camera. Even with all the training, the practice, the lighting set up, the perfect backgrounds, I get things like shadows, skin redness, blemishes, dark circles, puffy faces, yellow teeth, and blinkers that all need to be photoshopped. Now the average time spent before I even take a photo is upwards of an hour in prep time, emails, and making sure my clients are fully prepared as well. My session time ranges from 1 hour to 3 hours, and then I do what is called soft edits & culling. This process alone can take an hour as well per session. I promise to share as much as I can to educate not only my peers but my clients that I wish it simply came out of my camera perfectly, it would be the easiest job if it did. Trust me when I say - I try my hardest to make this happen when I can - but when it comes to studio newborn photography, it’s just not the case!
