Did Jay officially part ways with aomg or is he still an artist?

Also if code kunst left, for sure something bad is happening given that he got a lot of artists to sign (Leehi, wonjae, coogie, kian). And if im not mistaken, Kian signed a little less than a year ago? Makes me think that whatever is happening, has started very very recently (especially because Simon d terminated his contract, and not wait for it to expire). Also makes me feel like it has to do with meenoie being allowed back into the label.

Also wondering why/how hoody, Elo, and ugly duck are still in aomg. They are the OGs but imo, aomg has not done much for them.

While we’re at it, jvcki wait released like 2 songs so far. Still don’t know why she signed with Aomg. She’ll most likely leave too at this point.

He stayed as an advisor. Or at least that's the last thing I heard about his involvement with the company.

My thought was that maybe Jay Park is poaching everybody to More Vision. Maybe he regretted selling a portion of AOMG to CJ E&M and this is his way of correcting that mistake? Getting everyone to terminate or not renegotiate the contract just to hire them again for the new company. That's just me making a weird assumption. I literally have no proof of this. I guess this is what I would want to be true lol.

I originally thought it was an understandable idea for Jvcki to sign there. While she doesn't fit in, I thought she'd be well taken care of if Jay, Gray, Woo, and Coogie were there cause I think she was on pretty good terms with them before even leaving Indigo. I'm sure she and some others from AOMG were on good terms too.

IDK if it has to do with Meenoi being allowed back. I think Meenoi's situation was just an early sign that there was some discord or miscommunications starting to arise within the company.

IDK how old you are but if you've worked before then you probably already know that when you see this many people leaving a company at once, it's usually an issue with the higher ups (management and even as far up as CEO and other execs) running of the company. So that's why I'm assuming it's the new people in charge who are a big part of the problem.

While we're here, I wonder if someone who recently left AOMG will be the new artist joining H1ghr?

Current Mood: decent/mildly productive lol Had a weight training session, which usually puts me in a better mood, and I've been missing creating, so trying to get some more work in today!

Currently Thinking About: Coffee. My family gifted me a milk frother recently, and I've been obsessed with making little fancy coffee drinks now lol Also Sherlock and Jonathan. They've basically taken over my mind since I played Chapter One lol

Current Favorite Song: Buck by Coogie

Currently Reading: The Whole Art of Detection by Lyndsay Faye - I've just started, but if you enjoy Sherlock Holmes and John Watson, there is so much domesticity, even within the first chapters, that I would highly recommend! It was also written with ACD's writing style in mind, so it's been really fun to read! I haven't gotten around to reading ACD's original work, but I think this book will help get me into it at some point.

Currently Watching: I don't actually watch too many shows, but lately my siblings and I have been rewatching The Granada Television Series Sherlock Holmes with Jeremy Brett as Sherlock. It's become quite the comfort show for us, and Jeremy Brett is just perfection 🤍 Other recent rewatches include The Office, Kim's Convenience, and a teeny bit of Voltron. I’m not sure if replaying Frogwares Chapter One counts as currently watching lolll

Current Wips: I'm actually trying to write a first draft for an original story! It's a friends-to-enemies-to lovers story about two childhood friends that are separated by opposing masteries - magic and martial arts - and are forced (after 10 years of not seeing each other) to work together on an important mission for their home kingdom. It's basically a fantasy, action/adventure, romance that explores the similarities between seemingly different practices - it's also gay lol if you think you might be interested, feel free to follow!

As for fanfiction, Frogwares' Sherlock Holmes games have overtaken my brain, so a lot of my ideas are for that fandom at the moment lol some things I have in the works (if I ever finish them) are:

Modern AU where Sherlock investigates a murder at the gym that Jon goes to (they don't know each other in this idea)

A possible AU where Sherlock and Watson find a real Jon during one of their investigations (set after The Awakened). This would be a chance for me to see how the three of them might interact together while solving a new case.

AOMG Profiles

Hey everyone! So, I finally wrote the AOMG profiles. If I missed anyone, it’s because I don’t know much about them yet. I only really know about Sogumm from Sign Here and I’ve seen her live. We went to the AOMG tour in Dallas, so we saw Wonjae, Coogie, DeVita, and Sogumm. As always, send me a request of whatever you wanna see! Also, be forewarned, these are just bullet points of dumb shit, tbh.

1. Jay Park

- Fukboi Extraordinaire

- Workaholic

- Probably addicted to sex, tbh

- Definitely projects his sex life to the world

- Has some big name friends, he literally works for Jay-Z and that’s weird

- Probably has a secret softboi side but is mostly fukboi

- Has so many freaking tattoos

2. Simon Dominic

- The world’s softest Uncle

- Used to sleep in his studio

- Is in the weirdest group when you consider people like The Quiett and Yumdda. Great song but a concerning group of individuals. He also literally had a broken leg in the video. Why? What did he do?

- Loves to harass Jay

- When listening to the song Simon Dominic, you can stop spelling his last name and just spell Simon Dom

3. Gray (He’s so hot)

- Incredible producer and rapper. The originally 119 is fire and I will take no criticism

- A soft boi who sometimes gets really awkward

- Somehow way more pretty than most women that exist

- Has threatened to take We Are back from Wonjae on more than one occasion

- Listen to his album, it’s fire

4. Loco

- The most awkward boi

- If you haven’t watched It’s Dangerous Beyond the Blankets, please do. He’s ridiculous and his mom likes to buy him As Seen on Tv products

- The cutest bean and must be protected at all costs

- Was not here for Sign Here but they did have a large cardboard cutout of him

5. Woo Wonjae

- A small, soft bean who is also depressed

- I’m not sure he leaves his house that much

- Definitely a drink at home kind of guy

- Is best friends with Cokun, for some reason?

- Is glad he’s no the youngest anymore

- Is as tiny live as he appears on tv but he’s freaking amazing live. I have video evidence after seeing him in concert

6. Code Kunst

- Dedicated Cat Mom

- Kind of looks like a drunk aunt

- Has now gotten super buff and I’m concerned about it

- Wakes up and chooses violence most days

Likes to be an asshole for absolutely no reason

7. punchnello

- Is a giggly little baby. My source is SMTM 8

- At one point, his shaved head with bright yellow hair looked like a tennis ball

- He’s really just a tiny e-boi and I mean, tiny

- Is proof that violent rap comes in all sizes

- Disappeared off the face of the planet for a while

8. sogumm

- Tiny, weird, and pretty. She’s quite confusing

- I’m concerned by the existence of Balming Tiger

- She sings like she’s been drunk her entire life but her live vocals are freaking insane

- All I ever think of is her versus Sokodomo and them being labeled as Psycho versus Pyscho

- Her fashion sense is strange and I don’t understand it

9. Yugyeom

- Hey, look, Got7!

- Has transformed into a large fukboi under the tutelage of Jay Park

- Has some of the most concerning friends. Especially if you consider that he is friends with both BamBam and Jungkook and Jaehyun from NCT. The 97 line is concerning

- I think Jay wanted another dancer since he spends all of his time forcing other members of AOMG to dance. He then just hired Yugyeom

- I think he might be the tallest person in AOMG

10. Coogie

- Look at that soft boi go

- I think The Quiett might be jealous that AOMG got him. He was obsessed with him in SMTM 777

- He’s super excitable and listening to him try to speak English makes me giggle

- He’s also phenomenal live and is ridiculously pretty

- His music is fun and he is adorable

Moonfort - Roguefort's family worships Moonlight. When Roguefort refuses to do the same, she decides to destroy their family and curse Rogue with afflictions that change with the cycle of the moon. Moon still shows up every now and then to torture Rogue to her liking.

Moonfort, Worship Variant - Moonlight gives Rogue a chance to prove themself worthy of not having to live a life of crime by sending them back "in time". This time, Rogue is immortal, believing it to be Moonlight's blessing.

Cleaner Grey - Earl Grey becomes stressed over his perfectionism to the point where he accidentally commits a murder. This leads him to spiral into deep paranoia to the point where he kills anyone he thinks has it out for him.

Bloody Trio - Cleaner Grey gets buddied up with Sisterless Vampire (silly emo who's trying to use dark magic to bring his sister back) and Shapeshifter Roguefort (a thief of hearts who eats those hearts to survive). [Shared with Majin and Kit]

Reincarnation Apple - Eclair desires to be a famous individual much like those in the tales of history he researches. Fakes - Everyone is a husk with a set personality to follow. If someone breaks out of this, then they are marked for being 'fixed' back to their original form. Turnabout Identity - After a deadly accident with siblings Langue de Chat and Bredele de Cassonade, Langue has been acting incredibly odd. Some say it's the loss of their sibling, though Cappuccino has a theory that something deeper has occurred. [Shared with Almond]

Toys of Life - Roguefort is sent to a toyshop as a form of community service for their crimes. At this shop, they discover through snooping through the shop owner Butterbear's belongings that there's a way to bring life to toys- even going so far as to be a form of revival magic with the ability to alter the toy's personalities and memories.

Langueless - Langue isekai'd into a timeline where they don't exist. Instead, Roguefort was imprisoned without their help, Cappuccino now owns a prosecutor's firm, and there's this person named Bredele de Cassonade who's taken their place in the family. Luckily, or unluckily, Bredele is being tried for crimes of medical malpractice... and needs someone to defend him.

Coconut Cheese - In Aloe's grief, they've taken to unethical methods to bring the late Coconut back. Cyborg acts like them, but isn't enough. So, taking a criminal in and experimenting with their brain, Roguefort's mind is mashed and muddled into what is known as Coconut Cheese. [Shared with Majin and Kit]

What are your top 5 must listen khiphop albums for a beginner?

This is a GREAT question! I was gonna take a nap but I'm gonna stay up a bit longer to answer it so hopefully I can sleep better after it's off my mind lol. Anyway, thanks for asking.

NOTE: This is gonna be long so I'm gonna add a "keep reading"

There has to be at LEAST one Changmo album: Getting Money Moment, DNSG, Boyhood, or Underground Rockstar. He also has Motown but I feel like his most loved songs (besides "Maestro" and a few others) come from one of those albums. I think DNSG is Changmo's best album overall. However, Getting Money Moment was kind of his breakthrough after Maestro in my opinion cause I think that's the one he released right after signing to Ambition. Also, I feel like it has a well rounded assortment of songs as far as style. Boyhood is a SUPER important album in Khiphop though because it was really commercially successful. "Meteor" did really well on Melon and went #1. I think the album went #1 for a short amount of time too. I haven't confirmed with the Melon chart BUT there is a Twitter account that posts chart positions and they have a tweet about Boyhood reaching #1. I'm inclined to believe that account because they have been doing chart data for a long time. Then finally, if someone is getting into Khiphop JUST this year, then I'd highly recommend Underground Rockstar because it's basically the most influential album this year since it won every category it was nominated in at the KHAs, particularly "Album of the Year". So it's just really important to this year as well as the end of last year. I think they'd have to listen to AT LEAST one of these albums. I'm not a fan of all the songs on all of these albums BUT I do think each one has some really good Changmo songs so it'd be up to them to choose. But potentially all 4 of them if they found themselves interested in Changmo.

2. DPR Live - Coming to You Live I think we're definitely gonna be looking back on this one as a classic in terms of Khiphop. Plus, I think this is like "Getting Money Moment" in the sense that it gives you a good view of what DPR Live is about. Every song is solid which is pretty hard to do. I also think DPR Live is pretty palatable for fans. He's not too experimental but he's also unique and not really like anyone else in Khiphop. Very talented and high quality work as well. 3. Super Bee - Original Gimchi I recommended this one over Rap Legend or either of his newer albums because I feel like its a really good balance between good songs (meaning catchy, trendy, "mainstream") and good rapping (not necessarily as catchy or easy to follow along with especially if you are more of a "pop" (not just "k" but in general) fan to begin with). I feel like a lot of the albums I've recommended so far have that balance. In addition, I think this album will tell you whether or not you're gonnaI also feel consistent presence in KHH that's always gonna be there in the background. Also, he's a CEO of a label so I think that alone is gonna make him really important in the coming years. Homies is doing well but I also think going forward, Super Bee is gonna find even more talents that will get to a high level.

4. Coogie - UP! These last few years Coogie has really cemented himself as one of the breakthroughs in Khiphop. I feel like Coogie is always at this really weird place where he has quite broken into the top rappers but he's always this close. I really feel like Coogie is really at the edge of a breakthrough and eventually he's gonna get a song that does crazy good in Korea ("Good Night" as well as "SaimSaim" did well on Melon but I'm talking about like "Meteor" levels so without any SMTM backing but also a lot higher than "Good Night" even though GN still did really well). He's got a really solid body of work. He's really consistent. I think anybody new needs to be somewhat acquainted with Coogie.

5. Sik-K - H.A.L.F Sik-K has a nice body of work but I feel like this was kinda the one that really cemented him as important + a star in Khiphop. party(shut down) is still pretty much his most listened to song on an album ("iffy" is most listened to on Apple Music but it wasn't on a album). I think of it (and "Iffy" too tbh) to be one of the Khiphop modern classics (I know that sounds like a really annoying and pompous phrase to use but idk how else to describe it lol). Basically, one of those songs that if it comes on the whole club or concert just goes crazy cause its one of THOSE songs.

Personally, I think 2017 and 2018 were VERY important years for the current state of KHH. Almost all of the really big artists we have now, started to hit their stride/get their big break around those years. So I think it's important that any beginner starts around that time. Also, I would just recommend these albums just because it's really rare in this day and age to have an album that's solid all the way around. Not all of these albums are perfect in my opinion but I think they are all really solid bodies of work as opposed to having like 1 or 2 good songs.

Also, I don't think Super Bee would be as necessary to this list as the others on it. He's more just because I think he's solid. But I feel like he holds this really weird place in KHH. Like he's really successful and has a lot of accolades but somehow he also seems weirdly behind the scenes. I think maybe he's just a lot more lowkey in recent years? IDK how to explain it. It's kinda weird. I don't wanna say he's underrated cause I think that's a bit much but...idk LOL. I also think Super Bee is a good middle ground between "mainstream" and "not (as) mainstream" type of sound.

Honorable mentions: All of the SMTM compilation albums so I think 6 and 9 have one but not the other seasons. But I do think it would do a new fan well to at least listen to all the SMTM songs from 4 and on. Might be able to skip 8 although I wouldn't just because of the exposure to artists (lots of SMTM8 people I think are still up and comers who might end up proving themselves to be important in coming years. Oh and then Big Naughty who is already really important tbh.). I think with 3, checking out Bobby would suffice as other seasons of SMTM would introduce you to the major players on SMTM3 better.
