The End/Disappearance of Hatsune Miku is a really good song but to me its very funny to imagine a corrupted version of V3 Miku generating this ballad about how it regrets not being able to sing more, how its grateful for all its been able to do, a dirge for herself before she is erased from existence. She's uninstalled. And then like ten minutes later she's reinstalled (bc thats how you fix corrupted programs, generally) and she's like 'oh I'm fine now thank you :)'

Honestly, even if it was possible to catch up on every single piece of media I haven't consumed yet, and I was enormously bored because of the writer/actor strike, I would STILL rather them be on strike than not. Because I want them to have safe working conditions and for them to be properly compensated for their work.

In the same vein, I have no intention of joining the writer's guild or the screen actor's guild ever in my life- I'm in an entirely unrelated industry. I still wouldn't promote struck work. Not because of my own future, but for the future of these people, and their livelihoods.

We shouldn't need to frame everything about the strike in terms of how it affects us personally. Its important enough that these people deserve to be paid fairly and treated well. Stand with unions, not because it benefits us, but because it benefits them.

developing Opinions about poetry in prose works

#not strong opinions but like #including the text of a poem is like including the lyrics of a song when you're writing a band fic #or w/e #it immediately stops the story #and draws people out of it #so imo it has to be woven in #or in snippets of a couple of lines #BUT ALSO. MORE IMPORTANTLY (wow burying the lead here lol) #i think one of the things i like when some poetry is a cornerstone in a prose work #is the *difference* #the poetry doesn't read like the prose #and that makes it stand out #and feel significant #much of the very popular like. instagram poetry. you know the type #doesn't really *sound* different from prose #it's free verse yes but it's also just like. wrt the vocabulary. the syntax. etc #i'm a big believer that Trying To Be Deep immediately kind of fucks up ur audience's suspension of disbelief #and i think the same thing applies when you try to include a Super Meaningful Poem #because it messes with pacing #and also because if you're writing that poem yourself #the meaning is probably going to come across as heavy-handed #which makes it not feel deep #TAG RANT OVER #('twas not supposed to be a rant oops)
