i have brainrot from my own ocs read below for backstory on kurumi because they're sweet and broken.
has a handful of crafting hobbies, currently into cross stitching and some of their stuff is hanging up around the house. favorite content genre is video game horror, like games that go meta and use that as part of their plot, also mild gore is good.
autism and adhd, has a chewy necklace on almost always and carries a stim toy around to be safe. struggles with ptsd, depression/anxiety, dissociation, and insomnia.
doesn't speak the best english, knows much more chinese (sinnoh language) than they know english, is learning kanto sign on top of english and the family is learning chinese best they can. calls jessie and james by their names but they dont mind it, its just easier for kurumi to use instead of parental names.
their best friend is a pokemon named mazie (galar corsola); named because the texture of its coral looks like a maze. spends most of their time with pokemon, they bring their switch or a sketchbook or a book outside and just sit on the tree while pokemon roam around and interact with them, mazie is always with them.
warning for child abuse/neglect, mentions of alcoholism, and cptsd
kurumi has scars from their birth parents and when james saw those scars, he actually threw up because they were scars from a belt and its all over their back.
they're missing the tip of their left ring finger because their father cut it off at some point not sure why or how
hates showers because they were punished with extremely hot/cold water showers, they had a panic attack when jessie showed them how the shower worked because they thought she was going to make them get in.
their dad drank a lot, both parents smoked heavily so some of kurumi's clothes still smell vaguely of cigarettes but james washed those clothes so intensely they barely smell anymore. their parents would also put cigs out on their clothes or skin as warnings so they've got a bunch of little circle scars on their forearms and stuff.
their mom was worse than their dad, she was a lot louder and quicker to act out, but their dad had the tendency to explode with anger and those always resulted in physical damage of some kind.
learned to care for themselves at a very young age, had to figure out how to feed and bathe themselves because nobody else taught them (jessie and james have to do some extra teaching for certain hygeine and self care things because they just never were taught how to).
either growlie or meowth ""stand guard"" for kurumi when they're having paranoia at night, which doesn't happen as often as it used to but its not rare. on really bad nights, they go into jessie and james' bed with mazie and sometimes they wake one of them up because they're stuck in a thought loop.
had tried to run away a couple times but never could get the courage to leave the town, so they'd spend nights outside and only with mazie because they would rather sleep on a cold bench than be at home. they'd be found by morning and taken back home, usually by their mother as she actually paid attention to kurumi's actions, their dad was forgetful and shitty as hell when he remembered they were around. one night an officer jenny found them sleeping on a playground at a park and when the cope woke them up to take them home, they had a full meltdown because they were too scared to go back home and the jenny was like yeah i'm not taking you home, but i'm definitely going to talk to your parents and then kurumi ended up at an adoption center that week.
few months later and they were adopted by jessie and james, they dealt with a bit of bullying from other kids for being mostly nonverbal and ""weird"", some workers weren't that nice either but it wasn't something that stuck with then as hard as the way their parents treated them.

kakashi hygeine anon again pls keep talking abt his habits there is so much there to analyze 😭 like im neurotic abt my teeth so i like to project ironically but the thing abt the blood and the missions :(( also i feel like he probably chews his nails a lot and that’s part of why he wears a mask to kinda control “bad” habits maybe idk. but also yes kissing thru a mask is pretty gross lmfao thats like sucking grape juice out of the fabric of a shirt after u spill it it’s just gross 🤮
I'm done working out 👍
Okay look most of my thoughts regarding this are like 99% based off the ANBU filler where he feels like he can't wash Rin's blood off his hands (i think it's filler anyway). So before that happens I think he's pretty regular about it.
This isn't going to be organized at all but here it is under a read more
After his dad dies Kakashi keeps the house extra clean. Seeing all of the blood on the floor triggered that habit
It's one part wanting to clean bc of the memory of the blood and one part wanting to feel like he has control over his living situation.
I've joked before about kakashi being allergic to showing skin but I think it's actually just that he doesn't want to see his own skin. The sharingan makes it kind of a horror show for him
What little skin he does show (fingers and forearms) are mainly for practicality. Keeps his sleeves as long as possible without them getting in the way. Gloves don't mess with dexterity as much. (Toes bc whoever designed the uniform is an idiot fight me about it)
Wanting to clean his teeth a lot makes sense since he has a sensitive nose. He'd want his own breath to be as neutral as possible especially with a mask on (honestly now have personal experience with this x_x)
It's my turn to project! Honestly i just don't think kakashi would like kissing. One) he's absolutely touched repulsed two) he has a sensitive nose so it's like if you ate garlic yesterday but u brushed ur teeth several times since he'll still be able to smell it and 3) he has sensory issues.
After what happens with Rin happens he starts to get dysfunctional about his hygiene
Once the shock passes and he realizes what's going on, he's up every night from nightmares triggering his hand washing
During the day he's mostly functional bc the ANBU uniform keeps his hands and arms covered.
The more time he has the sharingan the more and more he just starts to dislike blood in general. He'll go out of his way to get clean if he ends up in a bloody fight
After the Kakuzu fight was pretty rough for him. His gloves are gone and now he has to finish off killing Kakuzu. Plus he just lost another friend. He was not having a good time. Lots of showering after that mission.
The biggest reason he isn't struggling as much with obsessively washing his hands as an adult is bc he's much better at keeping his sharingan eye closed
In the episode where he's washing his hands his sharingan eye is open but in the pain arc even after come back from death he still kept his sharingan eye closed.
I mentioned it in the last ask but i think he has a learned avoidance habit. He doesn't really realize it but he does not like looking at himself especially his hands/arms and especially with the sharingan (agskdl just realized this is a pre-transition trans experience for me. 'Just don't look at my body and everything is definitely fine' lol)
A lot of his cleanliness is driven by the need for control over himself. He technically doesn't have much control over himself or life since he's supposed to be a tool of the state. I mean ffs his one and only tattoo was a part of his uniform from one of the darkest parts of his life
I think his mask is gross by the end of his day. He drinks through and (if u accept some of the story in the video games as canon) he occasionally forgets to pull his mask down while eating and i think he's just so used to it he just forgets about it.
Okay that's mostly what i got for now. I feel like I'm forgetting things I've thought about.

Tips from one trans guy to another (including new ones just starting out)
I’ve been on T for 3 years 3 months now and over this time I’ve discovered a few tips in the way of being your best self.
One thing I was never told was that once you’re on T and start getting body hair you’re gonna start going through bar soap VERY FAST. Basically your body hair is going to be like a cheese grater for bar soap. If you want to save money in the long run using primarily shower gel/body washes is a good option.
You’re probably gonna get real greasy since you’ll be going through Pubery 2: Revenge Of The Zits.
Wash your pillow case regularly, this is gonna help stop so much oil from your skin building up and making things worse.
Invest in a gentle facial exfoliator. You’re gonna wanna use this maybe once a week.
Again with face care I highly reccomend checking out the body shop and grabbing some of the seaweed deep cleansing face wash. This stuff is specifically for oil control (theres some more good stuff in this seaweed range like a toner and moisturiser etc)
Another product I like you can find usually in a pharmacy. It’s called PHisohex. Basically it’s an antibacterial wash that clears dirt and grease from your skin and helps maintain your skins natural ph levels. I alternate between using this and the seaweed wash.
When it comes to shaving I would reccomend using a shaving cream for sensitive skin. You’ve got baby face. It’s a good idea to at least start out with a sensitive skin product. Also remember that shaving cream is one of those things where a little goes a long way. You’ll need less of it than you think you will.
Try to avoid shaving against the direction of the hair growth. Shaving against the hair growth increases your chances of doing minute damage to the hair follicles and will increase your risk of developing a rash or further acne. Remember to shave with the direction of the hair growth and if needed you can go sideways.
Shave with warm water. The warmth opens up your pores and you’ll get a cleaner shave this way.
Binding. Purchase at least 2 binders. This way you can wear one while the others in the wash. It is VERY important that you buy in your appropriate size (most places will have a sizing chart and instructions on how to find your size) buying too small can do serious damage to you, buying too big will obviously not give you the desired effect.
When you bind don’t push your nips downward or upward, this can cause damage to your tissue. Push those suckers straight back like you’re leaned against a wooden board.
Don’t bind constantly. You’ve gotta give yourself breaks to avoid doing damage (like deforming you’re ribcage)
You’re probably gonna get a bit of a gut. This is normal as your body fat gets redistributed. Women carry most of their body fat in the chest and thigh area, with men it’s mostly in the midsection.
Wash your junk regularly things are gonna get funky. Wash it. Don’t be that dude who smells like ass. Also wash it so you’re not the dude who ends up with a UTI or something.
Guyfront trunks are a good underwear option if you wear a packer. These things have their own inbuild pocket you can tuck that thing into so it’s not gonna fall out or shift into an awkward position.
If you wear a packer wash it like it’s your actual real junk. Aka: every night when you shower. With soap. You don’t want that thing getting filthy.
If you’ve still got your babymaker you should know that apparently you can still menstruate if your stress levels get high enough so it’s a good idea to keep some feminine hygeine products on hand just in case.
Also if you’ve still got your babymaker bits some of us eventually find ourselves with an unpleasant situation in which climaxing can be accompanied by an unholy pain in the lower abdomen. It’s not fun but thankfully it doesn’t last for much longer than a few minutes.
Make sure you get regular blood tests done specifically checking your red cell count, liver function, kidney function and cholesterol. T can affect these so you’re gonna wanna keep an eye on those.
With regards to the above it’s a good idea to stay active even if that’s just going for a walk every few days. If you keep active and relatively fit you’re gonna have a better chance of not having issues.
T will have an affect on your emotions, you’re likely to not feel them as strongly as you used to. Some guys like this, others don’t. Generally because of this effect it can take a hell of a lot before you’ll actually cry. That said you may also find yourself a little more irritable. This is normal but it’s a good idea to have someone to talk to if you need to.
The voice change happens fast. For me it happened very shortly after I started T. One night I went to bed with a slightly sore throat like the beginnings of a cold, woke up the next morning with a whole new voice.
EDIT: forgot to mention something earlier. BUTT HAIR. You’re pretty much guaranteed to start getting this at some point during your first year on T. Now when I say butt hair I don’t mean just some fluff on the cheeks. I mean (and I apologise because I don’t know any other way to put it) asshole pubes.
The downside of this is when it’s starting out there’s gonna be a point where it’s gonna tangle in itself. There’s not really anything you can do about this. This is a downside because as a result there’s gonna be times when you’re gonna sit down/lean/roll over in bed the wrong way and end up ripping some out. I probably don’t need to say that this is not a fun feeling.
The good news however is that after a while it grows itself out of that particular problem. Now that’s not to say it won’t happen again on occasion but it’s not gonna be anywhere near as constant as it started out. I mention this because it’s not something people are generally gonna warn you about when you’re starting out.
That’s all I can think of at the moment, if there’s any questions that weren’t answered here or anything not here you’d like to know about send me a message. Links below to the products I mentioned.

Belly Button Infection and Discharge: Causes, Treatment and More
Tumblr media
Dermatologist explains what you need to know about bumps, discharge and redness in the navel.
How common is it for people to have an infected navel?
Infection of the belly button is called omphalitis. It is mostly a problem in the newborn time of life. Infection of the navel (called the umbilicus) is uncommon in adults. There are other problems that can cause redness, discharge and swelling of your belly button that you need to know about.
What are common skin rashes you get in your belly button?
Skin rashes such as psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis, intertrigo, and eczema can all cause redness of the navel.
Psoriasis, seborrhea and eczema are not infections, though the belly button skin will be red, may itch and can develop scale and a foul smell that looks a lot like an infection. Psoriasis and seborrhea happen in predisposed people. With psoriasis, the skin often also shows red and scaly lesions on the elbows, knees, back, legs, and scalp. Sometimes, the redness is in skin folds, too (called inverse psoriasis). Seborrhea is a similar rash with scaly, red skin on the scalp, ears and central face.
Eczema can happen in the navel. Eczema is a general term for a number of types of eczematous rashes. These include atopic dermatitis (a genetic form of eczema) and allergic or irritation rashes, to something that touched the belly button skin, such as an allergic reaction to metal jewelry. Irritant dermatitis is another common cause of eczema. Irritant dermatitis of the navel is most commonly due to soaps and body cleansers. When they are not washed off, they can cause redness and irritation. Use gentle and hypoallergenic body cleansers to help prevent irritation of the folded navel skin, and always rinse off body soap and cleaner entirely before towel-drying your skin.
Intertrigo is an inflammation and redness that is common in skin folds, including the navel. The rash occurs because of skin fold friction, sweat and bacteria, and fungal and yeast microorganisms which all interplay to cause skin redness. People most at risk for intertrigo are those who are overweight, very sweaty, have diabetes, or who have poor hygiene.
Treatment of intertrigo involves showering more often and keeping the skin dry. Wearing loose clothing and using antifungal powders help, too. Never use corn-starch-based powders in skin folds as the corn starch provides food for skin microbes, and this may lead to intertrigo.
What causes your belly button to become infected?
The navel is an ideal location for skin infection. It is folded, sweaty, often not bathed well, and builds up dead cells and microorganisms. In fact, it is common to have foul-smelling, macerated white dead skin (belly button cheese!), dirt and lint trapped in the folds. When the resident microbes (microbiome) of the navel skin flourish out of control on this feast, they can go from friendly to infecting. Over-proliferation of these microbes can result in the germs entering deeper layers of skin. Tenderness, yellow, green or bloody foul-smelling discharge, swelling, pain, and a scab or ulcer can develop in the belly button.
A variety of bacteria and yeast naturally colonize the skin and folds of the navel. When they have an opportunity to proliferate or invade deeper into the skin, they can cause infection including impetigo. If deeper skin infection occurs, it can lead to cellulitis – a deep and spreading bacterial infection of the skin usually caused by staph or strep bacteria. Treatment of navel cellulitis will require oral or IV antibiotics.
What does it mean when your belly button smells?
Dead skin cells, sweat and the action of bacteria and yeast which break this material down will cause a putrid, bad smell. There can even be pus and moist discharge. This is why it is important to clean your belly button well during your shower. The smelly moist discharge may indicate an infection, or it may indicate that you need better hygeine practices for your navel.
Tumblr media
What is the best way to clean your belly button?
Use hypoallergenic and gentle soap or body cleanser. Great options include my Naturally Best Bar Soap or Natural Hypoallergenic Shower Gel. Avoid products with fragrance or harsh ingredients.
Use a fine wash cloth to cleanse your navel. Gently massage the cleanser onto wet, navel skin. Rinse well and dry with a towel. If your navel has a lot of folds, you may need to dry with a blow drier on a cool to warm setting to get skin totally dry. Showering and bathing regularly helps prevent this problem.
Why might your belly button have a a lot of discharge?
Aside from a belly button skin infection, it is rare and concerning for adults to have a significant discharge from the navel. Usually, it is due to foreign material, such as lint or hair. It can also be due to post-laparoscopic surgical tracts or cysts from embryological abnormalities that may connect to deeper abdominal structures. Significant belly button discharge can indicate an infection, cyst or bigger problem with your health. Belly button discharge should be evaluated by your doctor.
Why might someone develop cellulitis in their navel and what are the symptoms?
Cellulitis is a deep skin infection. The navel is naturally colonized by bacteria. It is also an ideal environment for bacterial growth because it is folded and warm. Overgrowth of bacteria can lead to inflammation that creates breaks in skin barrier that allow bacteria to invade, grow and proliferate until infection of deeper skin happens.
Why might someone develop candidiasis in their navel and what are the symptoms?
Candida yeast thrives in warm, moist skin folds such as the navel. Candida skin infection is evidenced by an increase in belly button moistness, redness, and often, little pustules along the edge of the red skin (called satellite pustules). Keep the area clean and dry, and use a fine wash cloth to gently help exfoliate the dead skin. This will discourage the yeast to thrive. You can use antifungal creams and powders, but don’t use cornstarch because it is a carbohydrate, and yeast can use it for fuel.
Why might someone develop an infected sebaceous cyst in their navel and what are the symptoms?
Any part of skin with pores can develop a sebaceous cyst, including the belly button. A sebaceous cyst is actually a hair follicle that becomes blocked or closed, and then the lining cells proliferate into a cyst. We call sebaceous cysts epidermal inclusion cysts or follicular inclusion cysts. Sebaceous cysts in the navel can become rubbed or squished by waistbands of clothing. This can lead to inflammation and subsequent infection. Infected sebaceous cysts may rupture and drain. If infected, a sebaceous cyst may require treatment with antibiotics to heal the infection. These cysts can be surgically removed once the infection is healed.
There are also unusual cysts that can form in the belly button.
There are other types of cysts that can form in the navel. Some may be connected to deeper abdominal structures, and thus, not just a superficial skin problem. One such important belly button cyst is the urachal cyst. This occurs during embrologic development when a baby is forming in the mother’s womb. During this time, fetal urine exits through a small tube in the umbilical cord called the urachus. Typically, at birth, this closes off. Occasionally it doesn’t close properly and a cyst can form. This can get infected and lead to bloody or cloudy fluid from the navel.
Why might someone develop growths and swelling of the belly button and what are some of the symptoms?
Keloids can form in the navel. These are excessively large scars from surgery or piercing. They are becoming more common. Skin on the midline portion of the body is prone to keloids. These excessively large scars can be quite tender.
Other benign skin lesions such as moles, seborrheic keratosis, warts, and cutaneous horns can be seen in the navel. These typically have no symptoms.
What are cancers and other tumors that can happen in the belly button?
The navel/umbilicus has an interesting location on the body. It can develop skin cancers like other parts of the skin. More unusually, however, other tumors specifically migrate to the navel. When this happens, the first sign of the tumor may actually be a bump in the navel. These tumors can be both cancerous and non-cancerous. Tumors in the belly button can include:
Endometriosis (benign tissue from overgrowth of the uterus):
Metastatic Crohn’s disease: and
Metastatic cancers from distant sites, such as the Sister Mary Joseph nodule.
What is the Sister Mary Joseph nodule of the umbilicus?
The Sister Mary Joseph nodule is a metastatic cancer sign that every medical student learns about in medical school and every doctor sees at least a few times during their career. Sister Mary Joseph, a surgical nurse for Dr. William Mayo, first described it in the mid 20th century, and it was named after her in 1960. It is a umbilical metastasis of an intra-abdominal cancer.
It is often the only indication of an early cancer and not to be missed. Cancers such as stomach, colon, pancreas, gallbladder, small intestine, ovary, uterus, cervix, urinary, and even breast and lung can present with a tumor in the navel. It is not known why early tumors tend to migrate to the navel, but it is connected when a baby is in the womb to abdominal organs and lymphatic drainage.
Can hernias happen in the navel?
Yes, umbilical hernias are another cause of a swelling or bump near the navel. They happen when abdominal tissue, including potentially intestines, bulge out through the opening of muscles near the navel. If the tissue becomes trapped, it can get strangulated, and this is a surgical emergency. Coughing, weight lifting and anything that increases abdominal pressure can cause this to happen.
At what point should you see a doctor for a belly button infection?
Discharge, tenderness, swelling or a growth should all be evaluated by your doctor.

If you need to leave in a hurry
Tips for packing in preparation of being homeless:
Whether it be like my case where you’re clearing out in the middle of the night, you get kicked out, or you know you’re in danger of being kicked out at any time, you need to have at least one bag packed at all times. It’s easy to forget a million things when you’re in a rush, so here’s a list from experience:
•At Least a Week’s Worth of Clean Clothes. T-shirts, pants, underwear (I seriously forgot these my first time leaving), socks, and anything else you will need.
•A Jacket, even in the summer. It gets cold at night and you want to make sure you can stay warm.
•A Heavy Sweatshirt, again it gets cold and you want to be able to throw it on when you go to sleep.
•A Nice Shirt and if you’re male bring a Tie, as silly as it sounds. You might need to go to job interviews, and you definitely don’t want to show up in a t-shirt.
•Blanket and Pillow, it’s the little things like a comfy pillow and a warm blanket that help you keep your feeling of humanity.
•Hygeine Items: soap, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, nail clippers, deodorant, hairbrush, a razor. Put them in a cosmetics bag and toss em in. These are easy and relatively cheap to replace at a grocery store so don’t freak out if you forget anything.
•Water Bottle, water fountains aren’t always readily available and you need to stay hydrated. Bring a durable, large water bottle. Refill it every chance you get. Some fast food restaurants have free water if you ask, and most large retailers like Walmart and malls have water fountains. Even if your bottle is mostly full, refill when you can.
•A Pair of Sneakers and A Pair of Flip Flops, sneakers are comfy and accepted at most jobs, and flip flops are good to have on hand for potential showers. If you have a gym membership make sure you take advantage of their showers.
•Basic Silverware, seriously. A fork, a knife, and a spoon will help you a lot more than they seem like they would. My local gas station sells soup sometimes for pretty cheap, but plastic silverware often runs out.
•A Stuffed Animal, at night it just helps to have something to hold and potentially cry into.
•A First Aid Kit, mine is a makeshift cosmetic bag full of bandaids, Tylenol, and bite cream.
•A Pocket Knife or Pepper Spray, the streets are dangerous.
