#because if everyone is happy and perfect and never complex or problematic the interpersonal story cannot go anywhere #we want it for the same reasons we loved seeing buck be jealous of eddietommy — because it gave us drama to watch on the soap opera #ilu guys but fluff only works in short form fanfiction this is a long-form wide-audience narrative #characters have to experience negative emotions. some characters have to do bad things. this does not mean people hate eddie

my ideal depiction of the von karma family soap opera is like incredibly hyperspecific but one of the most important notes is that, at the end of the day, miles & franziska have absolutely no idea how manfred actually felt about them and to be honest theyre not even sure if they Want to know. its about the ambiguity.

I need Netflix to understand that 10 episodes isn’t enough to get me to care.

Like by episode 10 I might be invested.

But if everything is rushed to get to that point? No one has a distinct personality? The actors don’t even have material to work with? It’s so hard to watch. I only watch bc I need background noise, not because I’m invested.

Bring back 22 episode seasons, please. Invest in your product, not just a cheap 10 episode run so you can cancel right away.
